Play UKAug 27, 2015One of the best racers on PS4. [Issue#260, p.68]
-
Jul 16, 2015The game mode strip down this year by Codemasters with F1 2015 is evidently step one of many for a reboot of the popular franchise. Where modes have been taken, major improvements have been made. A whole new game engine giving advanced visuals and handling makes F1 2015 the best yet.
-
Jul 14, 2015There's a significant improvement to the visual engine over last year's game, and while it's still not the most beautiful racing title out there, the improvements in the engine have allowed F1 2015 to offer a greater sensation of speed, and that is at core what a racing game engine should be about.
-
Jul 9, 2015Control and graphics are really competitive, although there is an obvious lack of modes compared to the previous games in the franchise.
-
Jul 20, 2015The first Formula 1-game for the current gen consoles and PC is pretty good, which is mainly because of the great controls and realistic way of capturing the highest race class in the world. It is a let-down that the driving experience is interrupted by unstable graphics and lack of features.
-
Jul 20, 2015A fine first entry of the franchise on the current console generation with great potential, though some technical mistakes, strange AI and a lack of modes keep it from receiving a higher score.
-
Jul 13, 2015F1 2015 brings racing gameplay to a new level. Handling is close to perfection with lots of stuff to customize. Howerever, there aren't as many game modes as you would hope.
-
Jul 10, 2015Codemasters Racing Studio offers the best Formula One game with F1 2015. The EGO Engine improves on new generation platforms and it's a great idea to include the 2014 season. You'll miss some game modes and a more realistic AI.
-
Jul 12, 2015F1 2015 offers a good gameplay and good graphics, but the lack of modes, the damage system still imperfect and some bugs have an impact on the overall evaluation.
-
Jul 26, 2015It may not be fun, but it’s realistic.
-
Jul 13, 2015One step forward and two steps back. The handling model and the graphics at last received a necessary overhaul, but the game presents itself stripped of career and alternative modes, slightly bugged and still missing a convincing collision system. It will still please fans of the saga who don't care about progression, but for the full package we'll probably have to wait until next year.
-
Aug 13, 2015In my experience, setting the game to Pro and using a joypad is an experience in frustration. You will need many hours of practice starting at amateur and slowly disabling driving aids before you can finally remove all the training wheels.
-
Sep 9, 2015I am happy to announce that Codemasters are not leaving the novice players behind in order to chase the most realistic F1 game to date.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKSep 5, 2015A solid bedrock for PS4 iterations, if lacking long-term appeal. [Sept 2015, p.87]
-
Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaAug 11, 2015Content-wise, F1 2015 has shed more parts than a car cheese-grated into a barrier. Fancy new visuals and some engineer add-ons prevent this from total disqualification. [October 2015, p72]
-
Jul 27, 2015While the racing action has never looked or played better, F1 2015 unfortunately disappoints in its lack of modes.
-
Jul 16, 2015F1 2015 crashes halfway through and misses some of the elements that can't be missed in a racing game. Even so, the franchise's potential is still there and Codemasters only needs to keep forward in next entries. F1 hardcore fans will enjoy it far more than regular gamers.
-
Jul 13, 2015F1 2015 doesn’t have many of the features and game modes that we’ve seen over the years, and this feels disappointing given delays during development, but it gives a solid basis for future growth. With lush visuals, tight car handling, good racing and a sprinkling of fresh ideas, this is exactly the fresh start that Codemasters needed.
-
Jul 12, 2015Codemasters has focused on the gameplay and the visuals and has left behind the some content available in the previous episodes of the series. If you're aware of it and ok with that, then you'll get a pretty good F1 game.
-
Jul 16, 2015Focused on the gameplay and the visuals, the game has a big lack of modes, a damage system that is still imperfect and some bugs.
-
Jul 15, 2015Codemasters misses the first next-gen attempt with a game poor of content, despite the presence of a good engine and a full F1 license.
-
Sep 1, 2015Strong on the track but lacking off it, F1 2015 isn't the series overhaul it needed to be. [Sept 2015, p.72]
-
Oct 28, 2015It's not a revolutionary game, it's amazingly low on content, and its also plagued by glitches and bugs. Why Codemasters? What happened? The driving, at least, is still pretty good.
-
CD-ActionSep 18, 2015Not only Codemasters finally managed to release the game in the first half of the F1 season, and not when it ends, but the game itself has such a good driving model and is so fluent that it blows previous console editions out of the water. On the other hand, unfortunately, F1 2015’s content is very modest, with lack of a career mode being the biggest letdown. [09/2015, p.62]
-
Jul 21, 2015This first attempt from Codemasters to bring the F1 Championship to the next-gen consoles lacks a better carreer mode and they absolutely need to fix the multiplayer. If you enjoy only driving without caring for a more in depth carreer mode, you should give this a try, because the simulation is the only good thing about this game.
-
Jul 14, 2015A solid and correct F1 simulator, but very far from the title we expected from a developer like Codemasters. F1 2015 leaves behind great ideas like career and challenge modes. Sadly, it's not a evolution. It's a step back in the series.
-
Jul 21, 2015What could've been a turning point for the F1 series instead feels like the same old grind.
-
Aug 3, 2015F1 2015 rewards their passion with an impressive simulation of not only the actual races, but a slice of the elegant culture surrounding the sport. Unfortunately F1 2015 doesn't have room for much of anything else, finding itself lapped by modern peers in expected features and ease of approach.
-
games(TM)Sep 1, 2015Impressive at times, but well-beaten by the competition. [Issue#164, p.89]
-
Aug 26, 2015On the track F1 2015 is a respectable relaunch for Codemasters Formula 1 games. The driving feels great and the speed sensation is excellent. Outside of the track however, it severely lacks content and only offers the most basic game modes. Hopefully we will get a more complete game next year.
-
Aug 7, 2015For die hard motorsport fans, F1 2015 is certainly the champion. For everyone else, it's one race you'll struggle to finish.
-
Jul 28, 2015Unless you’re a die-hard fan of the sport and absolutely must play each new season’s championship, then this game is probably best skipped in favour of the inevitable follow up in 2016.
-
Jul 21, 2015It's a shame that the great job done in terms of physics and modeling are overshadowed by a boring game without much to do.
-
Jul 20, 2015F1 2015 mimics the 2015 season in every aspect, unfortunately that includes the bad ones, too.
-
Jul 15, 2015F1 2015 lays the foundations for the future by getting it right on the race track where it matters most. Ultimately, however, it's still in need of some bodywork to bring it fully up to speed with feature-heavy past releases.
-
Jul 13, 2015Ultimately, F1 2015 feels pretty lightweight in terms of content, and if you place it side by side with F1 2014, it's clear as day that what we have is little more than the bare-bones basics.
-
Jul 10, 2015F1 2015 represents the best driving seen in the series to date, but sadly doesn't provide the graphical leap it should, nor does it come with the feature list fans rightly expect.
-
Jul 9, 2015The racing and visuals are good, but the scarcity of modes and options means this is another year where the official F1 tie-in barely makes the starting grid.
-
Jul 29, 2015With few features, annoying AI, and broken multiplayer, it's hard to appreciate F1 2015's improved driving.
-
Aug 3, 2015F1 2015 is enjoyable enough and gives gamers a refreshing break from the usual car porn and Vin Diesel simulators, but in its effort to make the title as realistic as possible, Codemasters forgot about the casual gamer—the one who only has a few hours a week to play, and who doesn't want to be bogged down in endless laps when a quicker option would suffice.
-
Jul 16, 2015With most of the features of previous games gone, it's hard to praise F1 2015, specially when you know that those features will be back next year. Unless you're an absolute F1 fanatic willing to fund the FOPA with your money, we suggest you wait for the next iteration of the IP.
-
Sep 8, 2015Looks and plays good, but lacks so much in every other department compared to the standards set by the previous titles in the series.
-
Aug 21, 2015The biggest problem, though, which ultimately makes F1 2015 “not recommended” is that the racing gets rather tedious.
-
Jul 20, 2015F1 2015 on new-gen can be quite nice to play, but it could have been so much better. It lacks innovations and offers an awful AI.
-
Jul 17, 2015The basics of F1 2015 are unquestionably solid, but the basics are pretty much all it has to offer.
-
Aug 11, 2015Robust driving model, game content senselessly cut-off and barely average graphics make F1 2015 a particularly bitter pill. Shall we slap ourselves for hoping again? For the bold price you will get a bold disappointment, as they promised us the moon before. There is no reasonable excuse for this.
