Oct 17, 2016Eve Valkyrie got the most spectacular and breathtaking space dogfighting ever, but it lacks in game modes and fresh ideas.
-
Dec 2, 2016EVE: Valkyrie is a delight to play, with tight and accessible controls. It’s the space-bound dogfighting dream you’ve always wanted, but a lack of single player content and some nasty microtransactions take the shine out of it all.
-
Nov 20, 2016Eve Valkyrie is an enjoyable VR space combat game that really puts you into the seat of a star fighter as you take on a variety of enemies all from the safety of your lounge room. The immersion factor of VR works well, particularly how you use your head to track enemy ships that makes you feel like you are part of the next big Star Wars movie. The only downside to the title is the microtransactions which are a real big sin. Sure you can grind your way to victory but it’s going to be a hard slog.

games(TM)Nov 17, 2016Spectacular but struggles to maintain momentum. [Issue#180, p.43]

Nov 10, 2016EVE Valkyrie is an interesting, but controversial project. It's fun to play, but offers too little content to justify the full price.
-
Nov 8, 2016Not without flaws, EVE Valkyrie has the merit to be a real full VR game, and not another one of those "experiences" which are just tech demos. A first stone upon which to build future VR space shooters.
-
Nov 3, 2016At its heart Valkyrie is a straightforward, arcade shooter which lacks enough variety in its gameplay to stop it growing stale quite quickly, and, for the asking price, it’s perhaps only fully recommendable to the most enthusiastic of space pirates.
-
Oct 25, 2016Eve: Valkyrie is the type of game that I have been waiting for a while now. It blends tight, responsive controls with some of the best action available for VR. Unfortunately it is slightly marred by unwelcome microtransactions and an teasingly brief single player. If you want a multiplayer space dogfighter then this is the best out there currently, however there could be more content for the price tag.
-
Oct 25, 2016EVE Valkyrie offers excellent sensations of space combat, but it's a shame the solo campaign is so short, even if the multiplayer mode is solid and engaging.
-
Oct 13, 2016EVE: Valkyrie could be one of the definitive multiplayer experiences for VR, though it does feel like you’ve seen everything within the first couple of hours. The multiplayer is a bit light on content, but what is here works really well.
-
Oct 23, 2016Impressive space combat simulation, which takes advantage of PSVR like no other. But game modes are too few, player progression and spaceship customization are not too deep, and single player is limited to training modes and a very short campaign.
-
Nov 1, 2016Fighting in space has never been so realistic as it is depicted in EVE Valkyrie. However, it's also never been so dull. An unnecessary micro-transaction system turns this game into a missed opportunity.
-
Nov 1, 2016The first moment you play EVE Valkyrie you get this wow-feeling due to the PlayStation VR and surroundings in the game. However the game gets kind of boring after two hours of playing because of the endless repetition of dogfights in space.
-
Oct 18, 2016Space combat simulators will hopefully become a mainstay of VR in the future, but although this lays the groundwork the experience itself is limited and repetitive.

Playstation Official Magazine AustraliaJan 8, 2017CCP hasn’t adjusted the game’s free-to-play Oculus Rift structure, however, despite the game costing $79 on PS VR, and the resulting grind to acquire everything is spirit-sapping. [January 2016, p80]

Playstation Official Magazine UKDec 27, 2016Reveals itself to be a lot like space: beautiful, but mostly empty. [Christmas 2016, p.96]
