I did like this game at first during the first 1 or 2 missions but once they let you go to do more missions it's the same **** over and over again.

Graphics, they look good for the 1 of the few first games on VR but once you look at the graphics around you it looks like an earl PS3 game. Gameplay, for me, it gave me a headache and a little sick. It's an ok game but it's just so

It's an ok game but it's just so repetitive and boring since you do a 4v4 and everyone is all over the place in 1 match everyone actually was following 1 other person so we had a line going around trying to shoot the guy in front.

Overall, If you have VR you can skip this 1 or rent it

I'm going to say right off that this game might be too hard for some people. When the action gets going there is a LOT going on all around you and it can be a little overwhelming. It takes a lot of practice to get good at the controls, especially the unique weapon types between different ships, but once it clicks... Oh man... There's nothing like unleashing plasma bolts at the guy in front of you while looking back over your left shoulder at another enemy and getting a missile lock on them using your "free look reticle" and then unleashing 5 missiles which wind around and track the rear target. Then there's the support ship, that lets you heal your allies by looking at them and using your alt-fire while attacking an enemy ship with your front-facing laser. Support-ship scenario: An enemy had almost taken out an ally's ship and was closing in behind them for the kill. I was able to heal the ally while at the same time damaging the enemy enough for them to break off their attack. My (now healed) ally turned around and finished off the fleeing enemy. Moments like that happen almost non-stop.

Non-stop is relevant with VR though. After an hour or so I do need to take a break. There's nothing wrong with the latency of the PSVR, or the controls, or anything really. It's just a TON of information to take in all and once and it's a little overwhelming without breaks. So (unlike every other game I've played to this point) I just need to take breaks or move to some other game for a while. But for all-out action or to show off your PSVR, this is fantastic - far exceeded my expectations.

Hopefully they push more story missions with emphasis on more carrier/destroyer, etc. There's not enough of that in the game right now but it's obvious they could add it since there is SOME of it.

Great first generation VR game, but too reliant on a multiplayer PvP experience instead of a good storyline of a single player game and full immersion experience. Few maps.

    This game just got me.
I can understand that for somebody it could be unpleasant or repetitive, but when I'm in the cockpit of the spaceship it feels awesome.
If this game is not gonna last, I'm sure it sets a milesotne for a new genere of competitive vr gameplay.

The aiming is spot on, and you are able to target your missiles with your head by looking while shooting your gattlings in the direction your flying. The graphics are pleasing and the explosions are great. I highly recommend this title to anyone looking for some great aerial combat and a pleasing, visceral VR experience. Expand

This game is a VR gem. Flying a spaceship and dogfighting is exactly where VR shines.

At first glace it will seem that the controls are very simple and basic, but when you face an experienced player you will realise that mastery of the art of flying will take practice and dedication. Pushing yourself to improve your skills and becoming a skilled pilot has never felt more rewarding.

This game looses a point for the disappointing lack of story content but the multiplayer content is excellent, and there are no season passes. There has already been a new map added and there are more in the works.

For the price you pay you will get lots of play time out of the game if you are prepared to rise to the challenge and fight the best pilots on PC and PS4 platforms.

Never tried VR before but just 'had to have' the PS VR.
Got EVE and Battlezone on release day. I messed around with the playroom and some demos before I tried these full games and EVE hooked me.

This what I came to VR for. Sitting in that VR cockpit is totally convincing. The first time I got launched in to space was awesome and after going through that 20 or 30 times now, it still doesn't feel old.
Of course, I was rubbish on those first few battles, but getting to grips with the control dynamics soon became second nature.
Being able to look around and track enemy targets as I weave in and out of space debris fulfills a childhood dream to be in a Star Wars like space battle.
If this was a 2D space shooter played on my TV, I would have put this game quickly in a pile ready for trade-in.
If like me, you were attracted to VR on the back of that X-Wing VR demo, then you don't have to wait. EVE is ticking that box now. You may not get the familiar Star Wars ships, but all the epic space dog fighting is here.
If you are a casual multiplayer gamer and you don't like paying £50 to be cannon fodder, then the single player and co-op options are a bit limited.
Having said that, this is all about the dog-fighting. So who cares what the scenario is. It's you twisting and swooping through space either on the tail of your enemy or him on yours.

The only kind of enemy you will be attacking is other spaceships, which all looks the same - a red freakin square (cause thats all you see anyways). Why couldnt there have been a planet with tanks/soliders/aliens - whatever - that you need to destroy? Or larger ships in space that you need to take out with some kind of tactic? Something cool to discover? This game is void of all else except spinning around like crazy trying to aim at red squares souring around you. And its freaking 60USD. If this was 20-25USD it would be fine, but for 60USD this is a total rip-off.

Game still full of bugs since its alpha: docking perimeters for some stations are wrong making bump out of station when you warp in and players take advantage of this to practically destroying your ship, an exploit ccp refuses to fix. Originally, object were able to collide in game and get damage but ccp could never fix their engine warp system so every time you warped into a space station you were blown to pieces so they designed the bump system (how unrealistic for an space sim) which by the way became another exploit were small ships are able to bump big ships so bullies can easily make you their prey. Another problem is the server can handle the numbers of players so they create the time dilation so those epic fights people talk about you spend 80% of the time almost freeze in space watching your ship get blowing into pieces in real slow motion like a photograph session. Another one, graphic simulation are wrong with most of the ships, detailed get lost since the company has never been able to fix the game cinematic of many of the ships. Exploit are just being fixed by ccp discretion of how they considered the exploit affect the game outcome doesn't matter to be a valid exploit that could screw few people fun if they keep their hardcore player base happy.
The learning curve, you better have good friends in game otherwise, you wont have time to learn anything how to play it. The leaning curve is so hard that you wont be able to enjoy the game soon enough. You need to be an octopus to master so many details just to keep you alive. Also to earn the game currency is a tedious boring task if you are not a pirate or you arent part of a big corporation that is part of a big alliance in null sector. The game is divide in different sectors were high sectors suppose to be safe for newcomers which never is, low sector you start some decent pvp and null is where all the action but at the same time all the boredness happen depending on how big your corp and alliances are and how much of that null sector they control.
They claim is a sandbox, well it isnt since ccp has to do some control damage especially in the game economy injected some additional variables into the game to keep it under control and the way they want. Some big corporation and alliances think they are running the game but at the end ccp do whatever they see fix to change the course of the game under the gameplay and economy itself.
You have to be over 21 to play the game since everything is encourage here, especially scamming people since it is now an implicit part of eve lifestyle. Also bullying is pretty much common so you have to be a adult to play even though it doesnt matter if you are a mature adult or a psychopathic sociopath person. Therefore I advise concerned parent dont led their children to play this game at all.
At the end of the day EVE has everything what is wrong in a video game today, full of bugs, being play by the wrong type of people. However, If you dont mind that, well that is your lost and their win...

My only real complaint is that the matchmaking balance is usually one sided. 80% of the time one team completely dominates the other team and when teams are really close the game usually ends because of the clock. One thing that I think is there but no one uses is voice chat.

This is hands-down the most immersive, comprehensive, and overall fun game to play on PSVR. From the flight mechanics, to the graphical elements, this makes for one of the only games worth shelling out the cash on VR, IMO. While not the smoothest of shooters, you can spend all day in the cockpits of those spaceships. Each ship gives you a little different variety and generally aren't too hard to handle. The main story is essentially a walk-through of how to go into multi-player, which is the obvious draw of the game.

Going against the A.I. in multiplayer provides challenge as well. They are no pushovers. While the battles can be engaging in fun, the lack of real customization of the ships makes it easy to predict your opponent and vice versa. The game can be difficult for those who have to focus on multitasking because you can't just shoot, you have to maneuver to survive the battle. And don't expect to rack up high kill counts every mission. The variety in multiplayer isn't bad, but its all of the same you are used to.

To mention again, this is a testing ground game for the VR. Its made to hold you over till the other games come out. If you go in looking to simply enjoy the VR and a decent multiplayer experience, you will have a lot of fun. If you go in expecting to find the next great flight combat game, you will be very disappointed.

It can be challenging, there's so much going on, and there are good players that can wreck you fast. But when teams are in better balance, you can keep improving and having great fights.

Ignore the negative review by JimmieReview...it's clear he only played the game about 10 minutes. There are maps that have short tunnels through asteroids, space stations that are basically nothing but tunnels, space stations with buildings and giant ships to weave through with all kinds of nooks and crannies to dodge through, etc. There's a planet-based map with a bunch of underground stuff.

And there IS a large ship you have to take-out in one of the game modes (Carrier Assault)...first you need to deploy your A.I. drone ship to takeover floating power stations, then once the power and shields come down, you need to destroy the cooling nodes on the giant carrier (avoiding the auto-turrets and other fighters), and then you have to fly inside the carrier and destroy the core, leading to a bunch of huge explosions destroying the carrier.

And BetaTester_All has posted a review of Eve: Online, not Eve: Valkyrie :P

Eve: Valkyrie is a VR cockpit dog fighting game. One of the coolest experiences in VR for me so far has been flying and looking around in 360. Unfortunately outside of the multiplayer, where there is a steep learning curve, there is very little to this game. Valkyrie feels like a test demo for hopefully a fully fleshed out game in the future.
