Mar 28, 2019In a serious need of additional development, bug-fixes and testing, as well as ditching the misguided fixed camera, Eternity: The Last Unicorn plays like a medley of solid action-RPG mechanics and ideas without much depth or polish. The setting, characters and story are its saving grace but their charms are overshadowed by the game’s repetitive and sluggish combat and the annoying camera. Calling a game’s mechanics “classic” is no excuse for gameplay that is simply not very satisfying or fun.

Mar 12, 2019Eternity: The Last Unicorn is not a great game. It’s a game that takes from Norse mythology, but doesn’t really go deep enough to make you feel like you’re on a viking adventure. You can’t skip the cut scenes, the camera is the hardest boss in the game, and it just doesn’t live up to the games it emulates. I like you Eternity, I just wanted better.

Apr 11, 2019Eternity The Last Unicorn is a hot mess of a game with old school graphics and game mechanics that feels more dated than a launch title from the original PS1.
-
Mar 13, 2019Eternity is a misfire. It's such a pity to see a project that had such good intentions fall to the wayside, but it's hard to share the feeling that for a new developer, making its first game, Eternity is an overreach in just about every way. I'm sure we'll see something much more refined and mature next time around.

Mar 16, 2019Eternity: The Last Unicorn is a less-than-magical mix of misplaced PS1-era nostalgia and shallow Dark Souls mimicry. Nearly everything about the game, from its fixed camera angles, to its clunky combat, to its copious backtracking is broken or irritating in some way. If challenge is all you’re looking for in a game, perhaps Eternity: The Last Unicorn is for you. Everyone else will likely find it as fun as a sharpened horn to the eye.

Mar 28, 2019Trudging through Eternity feels like playing a game design student’s graduation project. The game functions, which is enough for a passing grade, but no one would want to actually play through it. Eternity doesn’t do anything that countless other games don’t do substantially better. It’s also broken to the point of being more insulting than amusing.
-
Mar 25, 2019If it means having to play Eternity to save them, you're better off letting that last Unicorn go extinct.

Mar 19, 2019What a horrible game. Combat is stiff and unpleasant. The badly positioned camera constantly gets on your nerves. Where to go and what to do is totally unclear. Bosses are uninspired and no fun at all. Everything in this game screams 'ignore me!' so that's our advice to you. Do not buy this game - you have been warned!
