People should know the truth, I will never spend a single penny in any other product made by Evolution Studios and this fiasco have made me question if PS+ is really worth my money. Do yourself a favor and skip this game, it is broken, unfinished and is the most soulless driving game I've ever experienced.

In its current state this game is still good, a few tweaks to the AI and handling and i think it would be with an extra point at least.

its a solid racer and no where near as bad as some would suggest, yes there are some teething troubles with the on-line side of things but i am sure this will be sorted out soon enough.

Grande jogo!! Jogabilidade perfeito para o que se propôs, graficamente perfeito, somente o online que deixa a desejar, porém tem muito potencial, basta o serviço normalizar, o que já vem ocorrendo aos poucos. Enfim é o jogo de corrida do momento!!!

Driveclub suffers from various problems, the most notable of which is its severe lack of content. This is a game that simply doesn't compete with most of today's racing games. To make matters worse, the racing experience isn't very exciting. Games like Need for Speed, Forza Horizon 2, and GRID handle a lot better.

Driveclub does have some good qualities, though. It looks fantastic, and the audio is great. It also has some great ideas such as the Faceoff and corner flag systems.

Considering how little entertainment I got from the full game, I can't recommend it.

I don't imagine Ferrari's or Bentley's are many drifter's cars of choice, Although there are these issues there is some promise due to the solid race sections, minus the on occasion aggressive AI, car physics and stunning graphics, Driveclub is a fun game at times, but alterations need to be made and additions to the car roster are a must. It seems to try to fit different styles of game play into one game but, doing so it completely misses the mark at each. At moments you feel like it is trying to act like a simulation at other times if feels it is applying an arcade aspect to the way the cars handle. Doing so makes the game feel unbalanced. The other basics you expect from a modern racing game are not here. For example, there is no real car customization of any type and the choice of cars is very limited (although they are very pretty.) So I've played it for a bit more and now I understand what this game is. As a realistic driving game, it doesn't do a very good job because the way the cars handle is far from how they would handle in real life. As a fun racing game it does the job well for more casual racers.

It does this because it is much easier to get into, learn how to throw the car around the track and have a fun racing experience that does not involve staring at a holographic racing line waiting for it to turn red. This is thanks to the short braking distances, so you don't have to spend half an hour learning the brake points of each track so you don't go blundering into a gravel pit if you brake 50m too close to a turn (which isn't even possible in DC, thanks to invisible walls). So in DriveClub you would learn a track and have fun with it in 4 minutes, while in say F1 2013 you'd have to spend up to an hour to learn the track and tweak your car before you can really set some lap times.

So for a game to get casual gamers a taste of the thrill of racing, this game succeeds... initially.

Unfortunately the single player mode is really poor for a racing game - you basically either do races, drift events and time trials and complete objectives to get 3 stars in each event. Compared to Codemasters racing games, this career mode is just rubbish. In TOCA you race multiple championships, each a different racing series - V8 supercars, street racing, open wheelers, rally, German touring cars (DTM) and classic cars to name a few. In Dirt 3 there are also different types of events - Rally stages in Finland, Norway, Kenya, Monaco, Michigan, rallycross, Trailblazer events with insanely fast and dangerous cars, Buggies, Trophy trucks and Gymkhana, and the tracks are challenging and extremely rewarding when you do a run without a mistake. In F1 there's a full season career mode where for each race you have practice sessions to learn the track, tweak your car and drive until your lap times are on par with the AI's. Then there are the qualifying sessions where you have to drive your best to get a good grid spot which could mean the difference between a race result of 15th or 1st. Then you have the actual race that could last from 20 minutes to 1.5 hours which is a test of endurance not to make a mistake and consistently drive fast, and there's pit stops so you have to manage your tyres. Then there's DriveClub's career mode, where you drive similar tracks in either a hot hatch, a sports car or a supercar, and there's three objectives to do. And you'd have finished it in 10 or so hours.

For a racing game focussing on non-racing cars, its car list very small, which is made much worse because it is not diverse at all.

For the few multiplayer races I did, every race I was spun out, and in the end I didn't have a good impression from it.

Doing the face-off challenges are fun, but it kinda feels like i'm wasting time driving the same stretch of road repeatedly, while I could be doing so much more in other racing games I have.

I'll give it a 7/10, because that's what it would probably feel like for the people this game is suited for. However I'm not going to play this game much because it made me realise I can have a better experience in other racing games that I already have.

The AI is stupid in a human way. It will hold the line like their car will explode if they stray from it, but they will also harass you if you're in their line and will aggressively pass you up if you're not at speed. You may lose magical fame points this way, but fame points are unimportant on a per-race basis unless you're in a drift challenge. I know i'm taking a turn too slow when the AI wrecks me with prejudice from behind. Getting 1st in events is actually a challenge, which is refreshing. Predictably, once you learn the tracks the aggressive AI is less of an issue since you're (hopefully) not holding them back anymore.

The online is broken right now. I paid $50, so it irritates me, but not much. The leaderboards don't matter and the only real drawback for me is I can't unlock the club cars just yet. I'm still sold on the potential of the game based on what I've seen so far, and dinking around with the singleplayer events is entertaining enough to keep me interested for now.

I have had this game on pre-order for almost 6 months, I was hugely excited for it and could not wait to get it home to play on day 1. Upon loading it you are thrown into a race which is good, but that was when I started to see some cracks in the gorgeous veneer... firstly you are penalised for when another car rams you - THE AI is not exactly smart - let me leave it there. Secondly you are penalised for hitting a wall or going off track (3 seconds and you're reset) - this all left me with a sour taste in my mouth. I forgave it and finished the race thinking I could change options in the menu on difficulty etc... no. You can't do that.

Okay I thought. Well let me modify my car and see what I can do. No. You can't do that.
    Right.

Well let me try some of the mulitplayer features. No. They don't work at the moment, and have not all week. Right.

I have played the game since it came out, the physics are enjoyable if not a bit too arcade like for my personal taste, the cars all handle uniquely and are beautifully rendered - with particular note given to the interiors - they are breath-taking. The sounds are good so long as you're out of the car, inside (which is where I like to drive) not so much... its muffled and barely audible, this was another let down for me. The tracks and environments are nice, but looked rather poor in comparison to the cars themselves. For some reason it does not look as good as what I have seen the developer showing off - perhaps it is just me?

Why have I given a score of 1? Because I have since returned my copy. It failed to meet my expectations, the sound was sloppy, a distinct lack of cars outside of European, it does not look as visually stunning as I was expecting, the lack of any multiplayer functionality at the moment and the complete lack of car customisation was the final and huge nail in the coffin.

It's a pretty game yes - but please, only buy this is you want a simple arcade type racer... if so then you'll enjoy it. If you're like me and were expecting something on the levels of Grand Turismo customisation then you'll need to look elsewhere.

The visuals and sounds of Driveclub are very impressive with very detailed cars and tracks. Nevertheless nice looking tracks and cars seems to be the only part of the game that the development team was concerned about.

Driving against the AI is not fun at all, since they don't know you exist and so the AI will ram you anywhere if you are driving on their programmed driving line. Also you will get punished for being hit by the AI with a deduction to fame or even with a temporary speed limit. Even if you manage to overtake them they will rubber-band to keep up with you.

I rather play the time-trials because there I have a challenge that won't try to cheat. Playing time-trials against friends is challenging and is somewhat fun. Or at least much more than playing against AI.

For a racing game it lacks many of the features that we expect. There is no way to replay your last race to see again if you did something impressive or had a significant crash. Sure you can use PS4 record but that will limit you to the camera angle you were in. Also there is no customization of driving assists or performance. You can only switch between automatic or manual transmission.

Other recent racing games have included an instant replay system to reduce the frustration of driving for a long time just to lose that progress on the last turn of the race. Driveclub isn't meant to be a racing simulator so I don't understand why it wasn't included.

Lastly the game allows you to select the weather of the race and the dynamic weather was also shown in the videos prior to launch. However for some reason this was not included and like the heists in GTA, will be added on a later patch.

The social features are completely missing due to server problems but somehow I expect this nowadays and I have not taken this into account with the score.

However, even though when they ram you all the time, the game don't really seems to feature a damage system. They just ram you, and not much things happened. The lack of customization and the pathetic amount of cars featured also disappointed me. However, what make the game become more disappointing is the lack of personalities. I don't really know what is unique about the game. I don't know what new things it has brought to the table. I can't see the passion behind this game. It just feel like another generic racing game with bad handling. This shouldn't be happened especially when Evolution has a lot of extra time as the game has delayed twice already, but the game still don't seems able to deliver what it has promised. And of course, if the only thing you care about is graphics, then buy this game. Expand

Im not sure whether it's the engine sounds or something to do with a lack of feeling the speed, but there is definitely something missing there.

It's not a bad game by any means but it would be hard to recommend it wholeheartedly. There is a lot of fun here for those who like the sim approach but don't like to be bogged down with tuning menus, and for arcade racing fans who perhaps want something a little more real, but this list of people is perhaps a very short one and this game I feel probably slips between the cracks. Some will love it, most won't really care for it at all.

Car selection is somewhat ok but it really lacks alot of cars that are out there.
AI is like 90's racing game.. they are just there, hanging around and "making" game harder to play.
AI is agressive, rams you out before finish or that catchup system where BMW just cant get more speed because RPM is red and it's so maxed.. oh hey there are couple of AI BMW's that can go that extra more

online is not working, extra car packs cannot be downloaded because of error. And when online works.. try to join club.. bang error and there goes the connection also.

car handling at high speed is like trying to operate flying sausage... it seems like downforce is nowhere to be found.

drifting is nothing more than correct angle, entering speed and bam.. here you go, be a pro!!

there are no settings to get rid of driving aids.. if there is any at all - im not sure. but it feels like there is sometimes and when you lose it.. it's byebye, like what driving assist? traction control, abs? what.. disappeared.

invisible walls in corners, getting corner penaltys all over the places where I even lose cutting corner, I get penalty also.. just for lulz. oh and then you get corner penalty in tunnels where you CANNOT cut corner.. bouncing wall inside give you penaly :D lol wth

singleplayer is dull and boring, there are alot of tracks.. which is nice tho.

graphically game is imo bad... it's ps4 and forza4 had same gfx. it's all jagged edges.. dont know if it's 1080p at all or this game totally lacks any anti aliasing.

pointless game.. I have played 2 days and already find hard coming back to it. while I played forza4 and GT5 sooo sooooo long. I believe those games have just ruined me because I dont want to accept anything less than forza or GT.

First of all. Do NOT mind all the fanboys. If you check most reviewers you can see that they give Driveclub a 0 and Forza a 10.

Now to my review. Driveclub is a very stunning racing game. Without a doubt the best looking racing game on consoles for the moment. The tracks are very detailed and so are the cars. The weather system and the day/night cycle adds to the overall experience.

The handling of the cars are terrific. A great mix of simulator and arcade. And the audio is awesome.

The only bad thing I have to say about this game is that the servers are overloaded, a very common problem these days, but NOT acceptable nonetheless. This is however a server problem and not the game itself, so I'm not gonna let this affect my score as this is something that can happen to every online game.

I'm giving it an 8, for all its detail on the tracks, the cars and the handling of the cars. It would have been a solid 10 if there were more content and car customization. 50 cars and 55 tracks are okey, but not great.

More content are sure to come in the future in the form of DLC, but that doesn't help the game now. It's a good thing that the tracks however are dynamic in terms of time of day and weather to give a little variation.

All ps4 owners should try this for themselves and forget about the paid for reviews by Microsoft. I love xbox and live but I've noticed since Microsoft entered the console race anything below an 90 metacritic has been considered a bad game. I am ashamed by some of the user reviews on here especially those you can tell haven't even played the game. It is a solid point to point racer with more to come in the future and if you own both consoles I suggest you own both games as they each have their excellent points. I thank my buddy for showing me the light and giving me a go on it as its changed my opinion. I have no idea what the xbox fanboys are so worried about. We have a good racer and so does ps4 now. But unfortunately the cons are there at the time of writing this review : online servers/places scarce or non existent, Plus Edition gone missing, rain and other weather conditions not yet implemented, Season Pass already available...

DriveClub is great racing game with fun gameplay, great controls and stunninf visuals. Almost every race is very intense, sense of speed is very well done and you will swap cars faster than you can handle ( literaly ).

Unfortunately driveclub is full of small annoying problems along with some big ones, which keeps it from truly great racing game. First of all single player game will take you around 8 hours to finish all races and tournaments and unlock majority of cars, thats kind of troubling for racing game i would say. Majority of game is rather easy, you will finish most of them at first place on first try. Also the ones which are challenging, are not challenging but are rather unfair. Later, there are races where will be one or two much better cars than you have, which makes it basicly impossible to win, so you have to play for the 3rd position, which is ok because you usualy need to be at top 3 position to get the star you need, but this is simply unfair gameplay where its obviously made so that you have to return to the race when 10 levels later you will unlock some car which will make it possible for you to finish race at first place ( you unlock lower tier cars at higher levels as well ).

Then there is whole slew of small problems. Such as, why in the hell cant i change color of my car ? i dont think i played any racing game in my recent memory where you cant change basic color of your car. Perhaps one year dealy wasnt enough to add color picker, i dont know.
There is also this club you can make, you can make your logo, yet you have to take one of the 4 most uglies liveries world ever saw and you cant make any of your own. So whast the point ?
Music, usualy its ok, but its extremely repetetive, do you remember that annoying song from trailers ? "How fast do you wanna go ? " if you didnt like it in trailers, you will hate in the game, get ready to hear it 3 or 4 times in a row on occasions.
There is system which penalizes you for cutting corners or hitting ai cars, so that playing bumpy cars doesnt pay out too much, thats all nice and dandy, except you get penalized when ai car hits you !!! Every time ai screws up and hits you from behind you get that annoying red flash bar annoying you and letting you know how poorly implemented it is. I guess thats why it is red, so that you dont overlook how badly its done. To be honest, in this case you just get your score lowered in this case, no speed limit as if you cut curner, so its no such big deal. But its still very annoying and can pull you out of the game a bit.

Instead of racing trail you have these flags to help you know if turn is easy or hard. Thats cool, except sometimes green ones should be yellow, yellow should be green, or greens shouldnt be there or they should be red. You simple cant rely on them, again, just poor execution of something which should be simply working well.

Also when they spent so much time on making these beatiful cars with these amazing graphics why there is on inspection of the cars ? why there is no replay ? how could they delay game for an year, yet miss out on replay feature ??? Right now servers are down and i wont rate that for that reason, i am expecting it will add more fun to the game, but game feels right now like there is lack of stuff to do. Also its a pity there isnt any kind of stuff to do beyond racing, like customizing your cars or anything along those lines. This game with its visuals screams for some kind of obsessive car mode, let me polish that hood or at least some engine parts.
So all in all, Driveclub has amazing core gameplay, which is realy beyond most regular racing games. At least in my opinion. I enjoyed even time trials and drifting races which i never before did, more so i enjoyed actual races, which are usualy very intense and you will just get that pure enjoyment from driving fast, overtaking and the overall rush of the race. Driveclub features of course amazing visuals and is just joy to look at. But it also feels very unfinished and its lacking very basic features. As of right now Driveclub for me stands at solid 8 out of 10. There is huge potentional to get much better when the game will be complete with more features.

Unfortunately, I've had the game for 3 days and I haven't been able to get online even once as yet. The single player mode is short by driving game standards and horribly repetitive given that there are only 3 event types: Race, Time Trial and Drift. While it has some nice tracks, there are only 2 types of those. There are Country Roads, and Circuit Tracks. No town or city tracks, no real world tracks, just boring proprietary country roads and circuit tracks. Driveclub also lacks the ability to customize or tune your vehicle, lacks splitscreen and lacks much of a reason to care once you've finished the Tour mode. Another issue is the AI, they have very little awareness of where the driver is on the track, and will quite happily drive straight through you if you're in their way. Amusingly, the game will penalize YOU for this as well. Driveclub's problem is that it lacks so many things fans of racing games would expect it to have, and while it's far from a bad game, it's not one I see myself playing in a months time Expand

Controls: This is where people will argue a bit about. It's aracade like. The drifting and driving mechanics are forgiving, if you like racing sims this won't be your cup of tea. If you like casual racing like Need for Speed Shift then this might be up your alley.

Sound: vehicles sound great and depending on whether your in the drivers perspective or not the sound changes. Tires screech wonderfully when drifting. However the music, which is pretty good (being a mix of techno and rock), is OFF as a default setting. Why?!

Gameplay: The tours, single events and challenges are fun and addictive. Winning stars unlocks cars, it's almost like a FPS progression system (or maybe I just don't play enough racing games. However, one of the most intriguing things about Driveclub is the clubs and the social aspect. Unfortunately for the past two days ONLINE FEATURES HAVE BEEN OFF, meaning I haven't been able to enjoy the game as developers have been touting about for so long.

Conclusion: great game for gamers looking to drop in and out of races. Racing through Norway, India, Chile, and other places is great fun. But cars feel limited at 50, and the possibility of more cars only through PAID DLC rubs me the wrong way. It's a beautiful racing game, but NOT A RACE SIM, that sounds great and has a "social" identity. But I can NOT forgive the servers being down and a huge aspect of the game not being accessible. I would have scored it an 8 depending on multiplayer but can't until I try it.

I am shocked that we waited through almost a full 12 month delay to get this game. Need For Speed Rivals is a better game and it came out in 2013. The car handling is bad, the graphics are only so-so and they don't have rain?!? They are going to have to patch rain/weather in later?!? Uh, that is a complete miss and something that is unacceptable. I am sorry I wasted money on this game.

So far i am really enjoying the game. It has some of the best graphics and is easily comparable to pgr mixed with a little ridge racer. The social aspect is also a nice touch kinda reminds me of burnout paradise as far as that goes. Just don't go into it expecting gt or forza cause sim it is not, no customizing outside of paint jobs which is fine it gives you more time to race.

This game does not feature any real world tracks which I find refreshing as the tracks included are a blast to race around. The graphics are second to none on of any racing game on consoles with dynamic lighting and day and night cycles this game really draws you in to the environment.

There is no tuning no real customization minus creating paint jobs it is just a racer pure and simple. That is what I think I like the most about this is its focus on racing and racing the best lines.

In a racing game I just want to dive in and play. The cars handle pretty well imo. This is not a simulation but more of an arcade style racer. There are no upgrades and I am okay with it. Different cars handle differently though. The graphics are gorgeous and have a real life feel. The spectators are not that good looking though. Also, I did not like the corner cutting penalty - it makes no sense in this game. The time of day controls are great though and night driving feels just like driving at night - without any huge lit up signs point the way. It is a good game - easy to get into. Customization has its time and place, but if you do not invest enough time to upgrade your car you can get left behind in a few weeks time. I like it because this is not a game where you drive around, it is one where you race. Expand

This game was done very poorly. I used to race and these feel nothing like it. The handling is very horrible on these cars. The only bright spot was the graphics but even that is at 30fps. No car tuning either...you got to be kidding. Was just done very poorly. Handling is the biggest thing. So looking forward to Project Cars.

I am not a huge open world racing fan so despite how amazing it looked and played it just didn't really interest me. I have played iRacing for years and am looking forward to project cars.

This game had me sick in the stomach when I loaded it up. Nothing felt quite right it seemed old in the way it looked and handled and coming from Forza alone it seemed like a bridge too far. But I gave it some more time. Changed the TV I was playing on and adjusted some settings and all of a sudden I was blown away. I don't think I have seen the kind of lighting and shadow effects used on a console racer before, that this game offers. The tracks are beautiful and the handling is akin to PGR which was one of my all time favourite racing games. The car list seems bleak in comparison to so many of today's racers but somehow as you dig deeper it doesn't feel like 50 cars is a limitation. Because you have to drive the cars as they are it becomes a game of skill as all things are equal, which was a huge positive back in the PGR games and never ever seemed like a hindrance then.

Since PGR so many racing games have become bloated and somehow confused the driving experience with so many mechanical possibilities you get lost in doing cars up rather than enjoying driving them. This game takes you back to driving. Driving cars that are for most of us an unobtainable wish. Driving them on tracks that leave you breathless. I am glad I gave the game a chance because in a genre that is flooded with games that are all about upgrades and modifications this is all about driving. It isn't a simulation and it isn't an arcade racer. It is somewhere in between that allows you to enjoy yourself and if you really want to you can challenge yourself almost endlessly across the different locations.

I have one gripe about the game thus far and that is the sound quality. It is beyond an annoyance. It is almost akin to watching a movie that is ever so slightly out of sync with the audio and you find yourself watching the lips of the actors instead of watching the movie. The sound is mundane and should be rectified it has no place alongside the calibre of visuals this game offers and is an insult to both the game and to the consumers who purchase the game.

I have not played the game online as at the time of writing the servers were down which is pretty poor for release. This has not had an impact on my view of the game as I enjoy racing games for the challenge of driving against the clock rather than people.

I hope this helps people who are looking for an honest opinion about the game and what to expect. It isn't a masterpiece by any means and can be very clinical and almost cold and lonely at times but for me I have found that giving it the time has paid off and I can look past the flaws and enjoy the game for what it is.

Does it deserve a 10/10 not by any means that would be utterly ridiculous considering the type of game and the fact that it doesn't really bring anything new. Is it a 4 or 5/10 not by a mile as if it is measured against racing games rather than games in general it does what it is meant to well enough. I think in reality a score of 7/10 would be the most accurate but my personal opinion based on my love for racing games pushes that to an 8/10 personally.

Giving a game like this is a 0/10 is simply unfair and childish. Regardless of whether you like a game or not at least judge it on its merits.

There are things missing, though. No replay, no photomode (both to be patched in later), no showroom for your cars, limited car selection, tracks feeling a bit same-ish. Very little in terms of personality.

Concerning the pro reviews: Seems like some reviewers are staying on the surface - GiantBomb e.g. complained about there only being one colour for the cars (the "factory" setting). That is not the case, but the paint options are buried in the menus - you need to actively look for them.

So, with more cars coming, more features coming and maybe a new setting or two, there is potential for more than a 7 or 8 - if you like arcade racers. Right now, it's a bit short on features.

The developers went on and on about how much work went into the sound recordings, but seriously inside the cars it was a muffled mess. The damage physics are also a joke, with minor scrapes about all you can expect.

Driving physics are alright, it is certainly more arcade than anything else.... it felt responsive and good enough to enjoy. The gameplay on the other hand - rubbish. You get penalised for when an idiot AI rams you, I mean seriously?! And if you go off track for more than 3 seconds - you're reset. What?!

And the cars.... whilst there is not a huge list, there is NO customisation to them... nothing. Zip. Nadda. You cannot even tune them or upgrade parts.... this in a car game? I can't believe that those options are not available.

So in closing - I have returned this game after playing it for a few hours and deciding it was not for me. If you are looking for something that is an easy get in and drive - this is the game for you, if you're expecting anything further than that - DO NOT BUY IT.

The handling is spot on and you feel like you're on the road, not gliding or pivoting, also Motion Control works amazingly well. It's so nice to see this feature being used again as for me, it negates the need to use a wheel.

The PS+ version limits you to the India Tracks only and a handful of cars, but it delivers 100% of the fun.

Well as many complaints go they're along the lines of no customization (which was never promised of shown off so that was the fault of those who thought that), there's no weather that was promised (that will be in a future update that will be coming something next month), and how it's not FH2 (really? apples to oranges people. That's like saying Star Wars Rogue Squadron is identical to Battlefront 2). Anyways getting back on track (pun intended), this game offers everything that was promised and shown so if you're looking for something that wasn't shown, you best look elsewhere for a racing game.

The driving and handling feels like somewhere between a sim and an arcade racer which is great for those that want a semi realistic yet fast paced racing game. The graphics are stunning and probably are the best on any next-gen console. However, some maps don't particularly look "stunning" during certain times of day where they might look ravishing at another time of day. This game really is all about the little details though. When I was driving in a race when the other cars went past some leaves on the ground they actually flew upwards and back. The headlights and taillights also are very impressive as they capture so much detail. The cars are arguably the best looking feature of this game but the environments are also gorgeous, especially around sunset. The AI in the offline mode is also very fascinating. In the Forza entries that I've played (Forza 3 & 4) the AI was very weak and the other drivers never seemed to be trying all too hard or they were psychotic at times. Here with Driveclub, the AI is very consistent yet unpredictable. Many times in a race I would find myself having cars trying to get ahead of me but not in a programmed way, almost as if it were another player playing as them making human-like decisions.

The soundtrack is lackluster since it's not diverse and it is solely performed by the electronic artist "Hybrid" who have created some of breakbeats best albums. The soundtrack isn't bad by any means but if you're looking for a multitude of genres and artists, you're not in luck here. The presentation to the game is good, not great, but good. I wish to see more models for your characters and I hope they'll add more American and Japanese cars as future DLC. The only major problem I have with this game is that the controls aren't explained very well. They're self informative but I wish they would've added some sort of training or practice mode that would you become better at the game instead of using trial and error to learn new techniques to better your driving. I also wish the courses were more diverse blending city and countryside versus it being all countryside. I hope to see in future DLC a United States or United Kingdom location to race in offering cities and countryside. Other than that, those are my only problems with the game that actually make me not enjoy the game as much. The hype level wasn't high so it wasn't disappointing for me as I knew what I was getting into days beforehand. This game is meant for more of a casual racer and those who just want to have some fun while racing.

For those of you who are worried about no split-screen, worry not because the developer said they would add that feature if enough people asked for it, so just keep your voice heard. The menus are slick and easy to control and the interference and loading times are quick and responsive. Many of the complaints here that give it 0 stars are reviews that I wouldn't trust since they seem to not be putting any thought into their reviews so I'd take theirs with a grain of salt. Despite that it not being for everyone, I would recommend testing out the free version if you're even slightly interested and judge for yourself, because who's opinion matters more on what you think of something, yours or everyone else's? I hope you enjoy it as much as I do if you try it out in the free version. I give Driveclub a strong 8 to light 9. Y'all just know this is my opinion, right?

Game feels incomplete. It's not fun to play and the tracks feel empty. No track life, no weather, clubs was not working. Looks good in some places - tunnels, some lighting, fireworks. Other places look unfinished (damage, grass). I would not recommend this game as a PS4 owner.

Finally, a racing game that is fun to play. Long overdue for a racing game that allows you to race from A to B nicely online. All these "open-world" games coming out that aren't nearly as good, but get good ratings because of it. Racing is much better without it. This game not only looks visually better than anything on any "other" console, but it may also be the PS4's nicest looking game. Finally, a racing game that is fun to play. The driving mechanics aren't 100% accurate by any means, but this is a good thing. There are plenty of other games that offer a "sim" experience, and to be honest, those games ARE NOT ON CONSOLE. Console is NOT the place for Sim racing fans. This game hits on most notes beautiful, and of course is a target for hate like most gamers who chose the wrong system out of stupidity and blindness to obvious facts. Expand

The game isn't awful, but it's not great. It's one of the best looking games I've ever seen, but, sadly, there's really not much content. It is disappointing because, given the extra time they had to work with it, I thought it would be great. It feels like a tech demo for the PlayStation 4's power, but rarely evokes a higher feeling.

Driveclub is a must-have for any PS4 racing fan. It’s ideal for anyone who enjoys a good arcade racer. It’s challenging, but teaches you how to overcome every single one. Because of this, Driveclub is far more rewarding than its peers. This coupled with fantastic graphical fidelity, impressive sound design, and adrenaline-inducing sense of speed makes Driveclub one of the best racing games available on current-gen systems.

When you're on the track Driveclub is stunning to behold, but it's held back by a lack of event types. [Christmas 2014, p.74]

The sense of speed offered by Driveclub reminded me of the brilliant first GRID and I was having a lot of fun until I realized that cars are indestructible. Whether you stroke a wooden fence or smash into another vehicle at 300 km/h your car drives exactly the same afterwards. [Dec 2014, p.66]
