    Over 3 decades loving videogames, and i never played anything as addictive and constructive as Dreams. From the deep yet fun to use tools, and the super polished social network features (play, review, share, etc), to the unique campaign, the infinite amount of user content, etc, Dreams is the ultimate piece of software!

    The game is a great tool for the people want to make their games, worlds or art.
    The tutorial is also very helpful, the short campaign is good and also teaches you about the game alot. You can also plag other players' creations, some of them are very interesting and some are highly detailed. I have been for 5 hrd and making my kwn game and its a lot of fun actually.     You can create anything, play anything, imagine anything. This is a tool disguised as a game. Simple enough to use as so people without art/programming experience can create their own games, and as an aspiring game developer this is all I could have asked for.

    Trailers dont show how boring this is? Make an entertaining game then. Game is not interesting? Do one that is. The opportunities are all there with this gem. Complaining is for lazy and uninspired people, please dont disturb this amazing community!
    Also, how is a $40 game with endless games inside uninteresting?

    This piece of software game-ifies the tedious game creation process. It's a lot of fun to create in it. That being said, there's a bit of a learning curve for the tools, and it requires time and patience. But once you get the hang of it, Dreams can be a very productive outlet for you to make things you didn't think were capable of.

    From a creator's perspective, this software is amazing! It is so easy to sculpt, make audio and code visually. The tools themselves have a personality and it never gets boring to create in it. The Dualshocks take some time to get used to for sculpting, but when it does it is worth the time put into it!

    The community is absolutely amazing and helpful and there's no toxicity in there.
    There are many amazing levels in Dreams already created by the community, but there are also some troll trash levels in there, but that is expected for any social media like platforms. I see Dreams as a sort of YouTube like platform where 99% you wouldn't like, but there is that 1% of games or creators which resonate with you and share the same sense of humour. You can see that each level was handcrafted and a lot of passion was put into it. From purely a player's perspective, I guess we'll have to wait for more time before we see full experiences and not just short tech demos. But when it eventually releases, Dreams will be an exciting place to be.

    I've been playing Dreams since it reached Early Access last year. This "game" (it's more of a game building engine than a game) is incredibly intuitive and challenges your creativity. Want to build a racing game? go for it! first person shooter? why not! want to build a space exploration game? the sky is not the limit, the limit is your imagination.

    Remember, just because you've never used a game development tool before doesn't mean you can't learn. this game has a steep learning curve but once you understand how logic works, how sculpting works, how painting works, how audio editing works, you'll fall in love just like i did.    … Expand

    Alright, I played the EA quite some time and the full release now and all I can say is Dreams is the most wonderful piece of software ever created. Please buy and support this game! Whoever reviewbombs this game: Your life is completely out of control. Seriously. So I suspect it to be Nintendo fanboys, of course.

    Absolutely underrated! Honestly, dreams feels like the most important Game in this still very young decade. I hope, that it's going to be supported for a long time, so it can have a big impact on the gaming as a medium for art and overall for the whole industry.
    GO GET IT. There is just no argument, why anyone wouldn't enjoy this Masterpiece of creativity.

    The creativity, the amazing community, and the fun an free feeling I have playing this game brings me back to simpler times, the tools are a joy to learn and I’ve managed to surprise myself with that I could create! If you take the time to learn you can really open up yourself and make magic.     Dreams is an absolute MUST buy. Period. I've been a player since it first released for beta players and then I got it as an Early Access. I am insanely in love with this game. It pushes me further and further with game developing skills and has made me inspired to create my own full length games.

    Absolutely incredible game/tool. Anyone can use this to bring their wildest dreams to life in a short amount of time. Media Molecule has fostered a healthy and loving community that is eager to help newcomers and that loves to share. This game should be on every Playstation in the world.

    Interesting tool, and some very good creations. But as games, most creations are boring or uninspiring. There are definitely some great ones mixed in though.

    More of a "game" for hobbyist developers rather than gamers

    The creation aspect is really accesible, but it's really deep as well, the victory of Dreams is make people, like me, who don't usually create to try out new and risky stuff, there is a sence of sharing with any asset in the game avilable to you and tje campaign while short showcases only the begining of what Dreams can be.

    Absolutely amazing, the possibilities are endless the only limit is your imagination. The short story that was released by Mm was also fantastic I enjoyed every moment of it, also it’s definitely their most mature creation by far.

    Dreams, encourages collaboration and builds a community unlike anything seen before.
    With a Creative Suite capable of creating music, animation, games, sculptures, paintings and / or anything in between or some crazy hybrid. The story mode Is a touch cheesy, but is intended to demonstrate what is capable of being made. I am one of the lucky ones who got to beta test this product, and it's early phases. Afterwards I proceeded to purchase the Early Access. And between these two phases, there were several updates including a lot for the Early Access. Now with the arrival of the full game and campaign, wrapped in a passion project stuffed with ambition, I have I can truly say that this isn't a niche game. If you can't create you can play whatever I have. , you can curate and bring everybody's attention to the appropriate place. If you don't like games. There is a full dedicated.     I’ve been creating dreams and playing others dreams since January 2019 thanks to the beta and early access. Right away it was clear the creation tools dwarfed anything that has come before, and within minutes it was clear these tools were amazing! Just looking at what others had made blew me away!     My only worry came when I heard that the Dreams campaign (playable only on release) was rather short. We had seen glimpses of the story for several years, so for myself, it was highly anticipated. Due to being part of the early access I was able to play the story 3 days earlier, and oh man what an inspiring tale! A beautiful story that blends aspects of reality with the power of our imagination, teaching us that although we might grow up, we can always look back to our childhood friends for some help in our darker times. Reminders of what it meant to be creatively unbound. The campaign really shows off what can be done with the games creation tools. And through all I’ve seen in the last year, I was still wondering “how did they do that!” Stand out is Doodle Bug! Really shows you can make highly polished characters that match what ever games populate the store shelves. Amazing game. 10/10    … Expand

    Been using dreams everyday since the Beta. The creation tools are like no other. You can build something beautiful in no time at all. Media Molecules campaign “Arts Dream” is an amazing gaming experience. It’s completely made inside dreams with the Same tools us users have at our disposal.
    It’s pretty much the only game I’ve played in the last 13 months.

    I’m not a creator on Dreams, just an occasional player craving for new experiences and Dreams is like a never ending ressource of visual and gameplay explorations. Plus having kids that are too small to play the PS4 typical content this is the best window on video game there is.

    It's hard to call Dreams a game. Not because it isn't a game but because it is MANY games. It is also many sculptures, music videos, jokes, and pretty much anything you or the playerbase at large can imagine. It's already worth buying and it will only get better from here on out whether you're a Dream maker or a Dream surfer.

    There's no way I can explain it to you in an easy way. Dreams is an experience, a thing you must see and feel for yourself. As a gamer and a creator, Dreams touched me since the opening movie, it was talking to me, about making stuff, about being creative, about criativity blocks... As a musician, Dreams talked to me through Art's dream, the campaign made by Mm, presenting me a beautifulThere's no way I can explain it to you in an easy way. Dreams is an experience, a thing you must see and feel for yourself. As a gamer and a creator, Dreams touched me since the opening movie, it was talking to me, about making stuff, about being creative, about criativity blocks... As a musician, Dreams talked to me through Art's dream, the campaign made by Mm, presenting me a beautiful story about struggle, loneliness and friendship.
    That's the first power of Dreams, It touches you, It have it's own soul. And then, the second power shows itself: you are inside an incredible, never seen before, amount of tools, to do anything, at one place. I've played with many tools to do games as a hobby, but I've been always missing something caus usually you have to use at least 3 or more softwares to do something that's worth a play, to 3d modeling/art, music and the game itself... At least. Dreams turn that table down, and put you in a space where you can sculpt, make music, and construct your scene/game/experience/monstruosity/crazy idea/remake/etc. Dreams is something else.
    Now somethig that may be the beest thing in Dreams and it's third massive power: Community! I never, in my lifetime on the internet have seen a place so full of people that are incredible supportive, friendly, helpful and talented. In Dreams you can eith one click or two share your creations to the world to see, remix, review, explore and play. People have made unbelievable things on it. It's like Rick and morty's intergalactic TV, or as the creators called it, a youtube for anything. I've been there since early acess and I've never seen hate. The only thing, spread around creations with so much passion and suport, is love. That's the thing about Dreams, you see something you like, you share your thoughts and make someone happy. That's how it works, simple as that. And then the best feeling in this experience, see your thing beeing used by others. That's the love shared without words, is when you realise you're beying useful to someone else and have the sense of being part of something amazing. 1.Don't be afraid, creativity can spark at anyone, and Dreams will hold your hand and let you make something you want.
    2.The fun is on the process and not in the end. You'll have fun by sculpting, by making music, by doing anything.
    3.There is no need to be afraid of showig the stuff you made to the dreamers, they are people like you and me and I can tell you by my experience on early acess that they only have love to give.

    Media Molecule have created something remarkable, an experience that need to be felt. Years on the making being rewarded with a beautifully crafted game. Don't wait to jump in, the community is waiting for you.

    Caution: Dreams will attract haters because it's too good to be true, so, be aware and see for yourself, there's a ton of content posted on youtube showing what it really is, you'll love it.    … Expand

Dreams is a place to create music, sculptures, games, short films you name it, someone has attempted it, but one of the most impressive aspectsThe brilliant team at Media Molecule behind such titles as the Little Big Planet series and Tearaway have followed up with Dreams for PS4. An ambitious title aiming to introduce gamers to the world of game development with a low barrier of entry. Dreams is a place to create music, sculptures, games, short films you name it, someone has attempted it, but one of the most impressive aspects of dreams is the ability to jump in at any time and play other ‘dreamers’ creations. And to be honest, its one of my favourite experiences on PS4…

    I have been playing dreams for around 200 hours now, through both the Beta and Early access release, and I think it’s fair to say that I have been blown away by its technical capabilities. Dreams is a full game creation toolkit, where users can create everything from small sculpture showcases to full musical scores, and share whatever they make with users worldwide. Booting up the game for the first time can prove a bit overwhelming for first time users, but this is quickly overcome by helpful beginner tutorials and a very intuitive user interface.

    A good starting point is MM’s own campaign, ‘Art’s Dream’ which can be found currently featured in the play dreams tab and has been made entirely within the Dreams creation engine. Art’s Dream plays as a 2-3-hour interactive film that follows Art, a depressed musician who doubts his musical prowess, and rekindles his love for playing Jazz through childhood memories. The story is deep, animations are near floorless and its incredibly impressive how many different game modes MM managed to cram in to a coherent and well written narrative.

    Whilst it helps to have a general understanding of the foundations of game design, anyone looking to play dreams can jump in, and with the help of MM’s tutorials, and can easily understand the basics of how to create content. Anything more than that however, is going to take time and dedication to grasp, as is the same with the learning curve for any other piece of software.

    The ‘Dreams Surfing’ mode in the game has also proven to be quite a fun dive, with it acting as a random button for every dream that has been uploaded to the ‘Dreamiverse’. You never quite know what you’re going to get yourself into. I have seen some very impressive user created content so far in Dreams, but most experiences so far are short format content, or games that exhaust themselves within the first 5 minutes. This could be because the game has only been out for a short while, but I hope users create more fleshed out experiences in time.

    Over the course of the Early Access release, I dabbled in creating a dream, and attempted to recreate a scene from the game ‘Bioshock’ from scratch. I was impressed in how easily I was able to pick up the toolsets and create something that utilised lighting, sound, texture and movement to make a coherent scene. As someone with no prior development experience it was reassuring to know that with a bit of practice you can make engaging dreams. Its important to note that if you don’t fancy yourself as a creator, you can still create dreams using assets that other users have made, and MM actively encourage this through their tutorials.

    I know it sounds cliché at this point but one of the most interesting aspects of Dreams is the community that has been built around the game. It has its own reddit, discord server, a dedicated website to view users’ creations on indreams.me, and there is a clear push towards collaborating with other users. MM have a 10-year plan for Dreams, and have a roadmap to add PSVR support, online multiplayer and sculpture export for 3D printing among other things down the line. The ability to share and create whatever you want to is truly awe inspiring.

    Overall, I feel Dreams both delivers and exceeds the lofty expectations that MM set out to achieve, and you’re probably better off trying it out for yourself than reading this review to understand if its worth your time investment.     I’m struggling to think of a game in recent memory that has blown me away in the same way that Dreams has. As someone who is not very artistic, comparing my creation (an Oak Tree), to one of my more complex creations (a fully working Etch-a-Sketch), I’ve definitely come to appreciate that Dreams is a game that (like most), you get better at in time.     Then there are is hundreds of much better content than mine created by a great community. This is only going to grow and can’t wait to see it do so.

    Simply incredible, I'm not the most creative person but have been able to put together simple designs for characters in a game I want to make and used other peoples designs for things I don't care about. I've also been playing a lot of the games people have made and some are brilliant. Can't wait to see what people come up with next! The value for money is insane, don't miss this one!¬

    This a technical marvel. What Media Molecule has given us as Gamers is Freedom. Freedom to let our creative side let loose in Game Development, Music, Animation and Art. Everyone likes at least one of those categories and they have given us, the people, the tools to have at it and go for it. The "campaign" of 'Art's Dream' is jaw-droppingly gorgeous and is a feast for the eyes abd ears.

    Simply the best game for creative minds. Creating in Dreams is fun, you don't have to do something good, just the act of "doing" will satisfy you. And for those who don't like to create things, the campaign, Dream of Art, is excellent, one of the best PS4 games on its own.

In that time, I watched ten minutes of an animated Star Wars movie, played some classic arcade games, decorated my home base with dozens of cats. I can’t wait to put some more time in and create my own stuff. Ps...most of the people rating this low are just mad because they can’t get it on pc and Xbox.This game is worth every penny and more!!     And if you like to play a bunch of different games, if you are an indie game lover, this is paradise for you.

    You have "Art´s Dream", a story game Media Molecule created in the game to show whats possible. And its fantastic, it could sell for 20-30 dollar by itself. And this little gem of a game will cost you 40 dollar, its a steal.

    Search for cow and a bunch of cow games will appear. Search for cat and even more fun experiences will be avaliable for you.

    Dreams is an incredible creativity tool, it has undoubtedly marked a new milestone in terms of content creation from the comfort of your console. It has a series of easily understandable but long-lasting tutorials. This is an experience that requires patience and time, but ends up satisfying any player. Excellent!

    Dreams’ creative mode might not integrate with PSVR as naturally as hoped, but its cemented position as a hub of invention makes it an easy recommendation. Paired with the platform’s inherent comfort issues, its sprawling, untamed ecosystem can prove to be a minefield to navigate, but for every unwelcome rollercoaster ride (literally and figuratively), there’s another wish waiting to be fulfilled or something genuinely original to discover. The only way to truly judge Dreams is by the strength of its creations and those already speak for themselves; if you want to embrace VR’s experimental side, you shouldn’t miss it.
