    Dreams is not your typical game. It's a window into the world of creativity and once you've peered into it you will be put under a spell that can be near impossible to break. The game is split in two halves. Dream surfing & Dream shaping, playing and creating respectively.

    My review is based on the Dream surfing, (playing)of user generated content. It's here that you will find music videos, platformer games, amazing sculptures of insects, recreations of older PlayStation games, recreations of current PlayStation games, recreations of upcoming PlayStation games and much much more besides. If you've ever read a book you liked, watched a film you enjoyed or listened to a song that moved you and you consider yourself a fan of video games, then you owe it to yourself to kick back, enter the Dreamiverse and discover the newest form of media entertainment being created free from the commercial claws of the bloodthirsty bastards that are AAA publishers.     Alert if you want to complete any game or get any platinum, do that before you buy this game.
    Because if anyone love this game he’ll love it more than any other games.

    Dreams has been a delightful experience since the Early Access and the full release it's just a fresh take on creative gaming. Don't listen or get discouraged by the jealous Xbox guys on here leaving 0's, try it for yourself.

    Ever since LBP (or was it the 2nd one?) I've always wondered when and if Media Molecule would release a fully 3D version. I've used other engines, like Unity, Three.js, some custom ones in F# and Blitz Basic (actually the list goes on and on) but nothing else comes close to the majesty and wonderment that Dreams brings.     I have been following Media Molecule since 2007 when they made LBP and I was astounded by the ambition of that game back then. Come 2013 I saw their tech demo and I was worried about what they were about to embark on. They were essentially proposing LBP in 3D with a full sculpting tool and rigging/animation suite. Fast forward 7 years and it has finally released and I gotta tell you. ThisI have been following Media Molecule since 2007 when they made LBP and I was astounded by the ambition of that game back then. Come 2013 I saw their tech demo and I was worried about what they were about to embark on. They were essentially proposing LBP in 3D with a full sculpting tool and rigging/animation suite. Fast forward 7 years and it has finally released and I gotta tell you. This without a doubt lives up to the hype many times over. Just seeing where the community was back in the beta, to where they are now. I simply cannot imagine what they will accomplish in just 6 months more or 12 months more. This is the quintessential definition of "it gets better over time". Not only because the creators are getting better but also because Media Molecule will keep updating the game. Next up is VR which will revolutionize VR game creation, and after that there is Online Multiplayer which, like LBP, will give everyone the tools necessary to make their Star Trek, Online VR dreams come true (no pun intended). With the PS5 coming out at the end of this year I can only hope that they will take proper advantage of its capabilities in an update and maybe even bundle the game in with as many PS5 consoles as possible.… Expand

    I bought the early access version about a year ago, and have been waiting for the full release ever since. The wait was ABSOLUTELY worth it! I grew up playing every LittleBigPlanet game that was released, and was sad when I heard that Media Molecule had stopped making them. Then I heard they were releasing a new series, and the child within me became excited again.

Then I heard they were releasing a new series, and the child within me became excited again.

    Through early access and the full release, I have enjoyed almost every user and MM created game, song, short film, or artwork. The game allows you to seemingly create any form of idea that you can come up with artistically. Each “dream” has little to no loading time, I have no idea how Media Molecule managed that, but bravo. The gameplay mechanics are very easy to pick up, once you finish the tutorial. One criticism I have is that the controls for creating a level or “dream” has a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it it is smooth sailing from there.

    This game has seemingly unlimited potential, even more than the LittleBigPlanet predecessors. For the price they’re asking I’d be ashamed if you didn’t buy it. Nearly Perfect! 10/10    … Expand

    I am not the best creator, but I still love to play all those creations of the community, story mode is interesting, engaging and fun. It makes me laugh more than once. Every day I find something new and wonderful, this game is unique, it's powerful and wonderful, this game is pure love.

    Dreams is honestly the best videogame I have ever played on a console. Players can create whatever they desire and let their imagination run wild! This game is surprisingly very beginner friendly as players don't have to start from scratch but instead use existing assets from the search engine. Animation is a bit complex although. To the uncreative haters who    Dreams come true!

There are infinite games made by creative and amazing players and also the devs themselves so stop drooling, just go play whatever garbage (cod, fortnite) you think is good.

    I’ve always wanted to develop video games but could never get by with traditional development tools, Dreams changes the game in this regard.

    Accessible as it needs to be, as deep as you want it to be. Simply an amazing tool.

    Story mode is disappointing short, I mean 2 hours max which is such a shame. If you enjoyed Little big planet in co op don't bother getting this game. Unless uou like to create in create mode.

    The game is a necessary wonder, and of course it is not the perfect game, PLEASE UNDERSTAND THAT THAT DOES NOT EXIST, nothing can satisfy everyone and that unfortunately you do not like it, it does not mean that it is bad, learn to live with it. It's really good, you can tell it's somehow made for children because of the way tutorials are and how easy they are made. But this game is essentially a game engine made fun. Just look at the negative reviews, 1 out of 15 people find them helpful. Sometimes my PS4 Pro sounds like an airplane but if you canI will give this game a 10 because so far I found no reason to give it any lower.     Dreams is truly something refreshing, and unlike anything before it. I’ve never been an artistic person, but Dreams and the community around it give me inspiration to create and learn. I find it hard playing a traditional game after picking up dreams, it scratches an itch nothing else can touch. Give yourself time to learn the controls and a whole new world will open in front of you

Thanks to the closed beta a robust catalogue of player made assets, animations, characters, music pieces, instruments, and contraptions are ready from the get go to start experimenting with.

    With the Community Jams, creators always have a topic made for them as a jumping off point for thier next masterpiece. The social aspect however is a core piece of the Dreams experience as players can collaborate to make amazing creations together aswell as provide feedback, bugs, and support for eachother. The overall experience for me (as a player since day 1) has been incredibly positive. Everyone has mostly been incredibly well mannered and supportive.     As someone who has always wanted to be a game designer but doesn't have the money to do so, this game allows me the ability to do exactly that. Be a game designer! With amazing sculpting and positioning mechanics, Dreams is a massive leap forward for game creation and an easy way to let your imagination run wild. Definitely a must play.

It's hard to call this a game. It's more of a creational studio in the form of a game that is only limited by your imagination. You can create so many things that you want to in a media format, it never ceases to amaze me.

    Playing through the beta was an awesome experience, and I found that music and character design were my favorite things to do. Now that the game is on its full release with new features that the beta didn't have, I'm even more hyped up about it. While there are certain things that are a challenge to get through (like the thermometer for each creation), there are plenty of workarounds for them. It's awesome to be able to link things together in creative/clever ways so that you have the ability to create full games/movies and whatever else you want to.

    It's crazy to have the option to create whatever you want in full detail, or just to play through other's creations. If you don't feel like creating everything from scratch, you can use things that other people have put out there, edit them however you want, and add them to your creations. And those things are only going to grow as time goes on.

    I also love the sense of community that has been brought up through the way that this has been marketed during the beta stages. The team at Media Molecule deserves all of the praise that they get for creating this masterpiece of a "game." I can only imagine what will come about through this as time goes on. I think we'll definitely see people springing up careers out of this, and potentially even individuals having their own full media formats to market outside of the game that were made IN it!

    Kudos to Mm, their entire team, and all of the current and future creators that this game has and will bring up! I'm already in awe of it, and the game just got fully released to the world today. It's safe to say that this game will keep me in amazement throughout its lifespan, which I am completely looking forward to!    … Expand

    Not often a game comes along and completely steals your heart.... today is Valentine’s Day very fitting for this masterpiece to be released. Dreams is so open ended you could play something new everyday for the rest of your days and still not play everything. This game easily deserve a 10/10.

    For years before launch, Media Molecule's staff members posted information about Dreams that we now know was completely false.
    They claimed that you could create almost endlessly large levels because of the revolutionary graphics that wouldn't require almost any memory, but instead the "thermometer" that shows how much memory you have left fills up very quickly.
    They claimed that you'd be able to add textures to your materials, when in reality the only available textures are the painterly "flecks" that most users just try to hide as much as possible because nobody likes how they look.
    They claimed that anyone would be able to quickly learn the tools when in reality Dreams is almost as complicated to learn as any other game engine.
    Yet, where is the public outrage? Any other developer would've faced a rage storm over smaller lies.

    But not Media Molecule. Why? Well, you've probably seen the fan-base on social media. They're the ones who post all the ridiculous 10/10 reviews here, despite the many, many flaws in Dreams. They are Media Molecule-worshippers, a sect who pretend that Dreams is this perfect and flawless product despite its many obvious limitations and confusing design choices. Nothing they say or write can ever be trusted.

    One of the absolutely worst things in Dreams is how you vote in the so called "Community Jams" - the competitive side of Dreams where anyone can submit their creations based on themes. Rather than letting you see thumbnails of every submission, to help you quickly ignore all the troll-submissions, you're only given five submissions at a time to vote for, and you can't see any more submissions until you've played every single one of those first five.
    This leads to a voting system that is completely unreliable, because most people just give up voting after having been forced to play dozens of excruciating troll-submissions made only for in-game "imp points". As a result, very few people actually even see the best submissions.

    The so called "imp quest" system is an aspect of Dreams that's already causing many annoying problems. The system rewards you (with in-game points and even PS4 trophies) for completing various quests regardless of how well you do them, which makes thousands of users spam the "dreamiverse" with utter garbage just for the points. In fact, many of the imp quests require that you create a scene and upload it and make it public, which has obviously lead to tens of thousands of awful creations that only make it harder to find good ones.

    The main campaign (story mode), called Art's Dream, is supposed to show off everything that can be done in Dreams, if you have a team of 100 people working on it for many years, and yet it's a sloppy looking 2-hour game about a depressed old dude. Honestly, there is already user generated content that's more impressive in every way. How anyone can be impressed with this campaign is a complete mystery to me.
    The problem with the campaign mode shows the problem with Dreams at large. There are many thousand creations in the dreamiverse, many that small teams of users have worked on for an entire year, since the beta went public in January 2019. And yet there's nothing except some short demos, mini-games and one-level-trials to play. After a year. How many years must Dreams exist before there will be a real game in there? Again, even Media Molecule's own team could only create a 2-hour story with these tools. There's a big gap between what we're told that we can do with these tools and what people actually do with them in real life.

    No, this isn't a 10/10 title by any stretch of the imagination. Most people probably love the idea behind Dreams, the philosophy of its creativity, and confuse it with the actual product.    … Expand

    Absolutely outstanding in every aspect. Fullest all round media experience of all time and the main game, although short, is utterly breathtaking. I heard it described as the YouTube of everything and it couldn't be a more perfect description. Plus the team at media molecule are the most welcoming developers in existence.

    Dreams es dos cosas en una, un juego y una herramienta para hacer juegos no importa si tienes el talento o no para crear cosas espectaculares siempre puedes disfrutar lo que otros usuarios crean, el potencial de todo lo que puedes hacer con Dreams es infinito puedes pasar horas y horas creando y dando forma a tu proyecto, tienes una doble satisfacción al crear y otra al compartir.

    Majour improvement over the Beta and it all came together in the end. I've only a few complaints but the main being, it needs a PSVR interface in creation and more space allocation. I expect this game to grow to a 10 very quickly. It's what I always imaged LPB was trying to be.

    Dreams’ creative mode might not integrate with PSVR as naturally as hoped, but its cemented position as a hub of invention makes it an easy recommendation. Paired with the platform’s inherent comfort issues, its sprawling, untamed ecosystem can prove to be a minefield to navigate, but for every unwelcome rollercoaster ride (literally and figuratively), there’s another wish waiting to be fulfilled or something genuinely original to discover. The only way to truly judge Dreams is by the strength of its creations and those already speak for themselves; if you want to embrace VR’s experimental side, you shouldn’t miss it.
