Xenoverse 2 like Xenoverse 1 was a game made for fans. Xenoverse 2 unfortunately makes no substantial improvements on the franchise. They dont seem to have learned from ANY of the problems from the first either. I really like the huge hub city but cant STAND the music which is something I have NEVER said about a game before. Never before has the music in an area actually upset me before as much as this game did. The fighting is tight just light XV1 but I do seem to find a few skills completely broken as well as some other skills completely op. All in all I have to say I was hoping for more. I was really hoping that this was going to be the end all, beat all DBZ game that would allow me to relive my childhood but in the end, it didnt live up to that. If you love DBZ, you should check this game out, if not, you probably are going to be disappointed. Expand

All of these 10 ratings are ridiculous, this game is literally the first DBX game with slightly updated features. The maps are all the same, the story is pretty much the same, the gameplay is the same, the music is the same, I can go on and on about the similarities. The differences lie in the customization, the hub world, the side missions and the instructors training. The differences lie in the customization, the hub world, the side missions and the instructors training. The customization is slightly better as far as clothing options, transformations, and such. The hub world is much better than the first one, there is no loading to get to a certain area within the hub. There are side missions other than the parallel quests that pop up in the hub world, some of them are actual PQs, but not all. instructors training in the last game was on of the worst aspects of the game to me because of how it was executed as far as "get me this item to continue training", but now you have to take advancement tests in order to unlock new trainers and I feel it works great. All in all I give this game a 5 for unoriginality Expand

I enjoyed this game a lot, I love creating characters, and I enjoy games with RPG elements.

But if I had to look at this game critically, even though it's been improved, the combat does get quite repetitive after awhile, usually if you learn a good combo that does good damage you would usually just repeatedly do it over and over until you defeat whoever you're against. And this games

And this games biggest downfall is that it's way too similar to it's previous installment, It feels like a long DLC than an actual sequel expanding on the games story, which is the exact same except for around the end game, when you have to finally confront Mira, Towa, and the Masked Saiyan (whos identity is obvious from the beginning).

The improvements on the hub-world are good, but it's not very important for the game overall.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 is a fun game, but there's not a lot of replay value, and it feels like the developers made this game half-heartedly, hopefully Xenoverse 3 is better.

This game hits a 7 for me and I wanted to give it an 8 but I couldn't bring myself to do so. If you liked the first Xenoverse, you will like this one. They made many improvements to the original game, but somethings are still lacking.

First, the combat. The hit detection is way more precise, it's much easier to connect combos and special moves together. In order to stop "runners" from keeping their distance and spamming, they added the burst dash. You can easily punish them

First, the combat. The hit detection is way more precise, it's much easier to connect combos and special moves together. In order to stop "runners" from keeping their distance and spamming, they added the burst dash. You can easily punish them now. There is the stamina break, which is like a duel edge sword. You can quickly break the stamina of your opponent, but if you fail, you are left wide open. The camera angles are cool, but they often get in a position which you can't see properly. Every race also now has their own transformation and they are almost ALL Incredible. Super Saiyan goes up to SS3, and runs off how much ki you have when you transform. You can no longer get infinite special attacks, and the form acts more like a power boost. The Namekians get a giant form, which is very amazing that they pulled it off. (It just got more balanced btw). The Frost Demos (Or frieza clan) gets a golden form that provided a massive speed boost. The Earthlings get to ride The Flying Nimbus and use the Power Pole, which is both silly and fun. Then.... the Majins. The transformation sucks. You just turn into Kid Buu. Do not play as a Majin race till you get Kioken or Potential Unlocked.
The overall design is better in the hub world. Masters or instructors teach you new moves. In the last game, they spawned randomly and took forever to unlock anything. Now, you can breeze right through them. The side quest you can go on now has better RNG. You always get something at the end of the mission now, and the "Perfect Endings" to the quest are guaranteed, not random. However, a lot of these quest are pulled straight from the first game, copy and past. Very lazy. The clothes you can put on your costume character still have stats...BUT they can be turned off by using the QQ bang system. So you can wear whatever you want without worrying about stat points.
The story is the biggest issue. It feels that it lacks the creativity that the first game had. There are a few surprising moments, but a lot of these missions are copy and paste. It also felt very rushed. I was very excited for some movie characters that showed up. But, many of the cooler ones ended up being forced into the story, rather than taking part of their own individual missions. It is not the worst story in the world, but not as good as Xenoverse 1.
Overall, the game is solid, and fun. Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 feels more like an expansion than a full-fledged squeal. Or maybe more like Xenoverse 1.5 It's not perfect, but is enjoyable. I would recommend Xenoverse 2 to mega fans of the first game (unless if you REALLY liked the broken mechanics because they gone.) If you want to get into the series, do NOT play the first game. Play this one only, maybe watch the story mode of the first game on YouTube. Also, get it when the price drops to about 40$.

That's a Nice game, but It doesn't innovates, is very similar to the first game.
However, brings a little more content, and some things to do.
I don't have lots of things to say about this game, it's good, but is Very similar to the first game. That's why I rated 7

    if the 1st XV was a 5 this one is a 7.
Theres much much more content to this game than the original. the story may be similar with different villains but this was Xenoverse's story, history change ... go fix it. they added plenty of heroes that weren't in the original and they gave each custom race it's own transformation with better balancing. They found a good way to prevent the spam

They found a good way to prevent the spam from happening and they added online raids.. which is simply good, Although with the time going by they decided to make raids spam to win The main problem this game has is the terrible amount of DLCs with added character that are available.
    to sum up,
    -New skills added
    -more heroes
    -improved compact

Good gameplay, awful distracting storyline, stupid NPC characters, fun missions, love the expanded universe aspect, way too many DLCs without much to them. Very annoying constant self promotions on the in game loud speaker, all the freaking time. A mixed bag entirely.

The sequel does not introduce significant new features, but it’s an enjoyable makeshift MMO if you’re a hardcore Dragon Ball fan. [13/2016, p.50]

Weightless, repetitive combat makes progress through this strange fan-service story a slog. [Christmas 2016, p.72]
