I usually like medieval rpgs and this was no exception, I liked this game more than past dragon age games altho they were really good too, even liked it more than skyrim or Diablo 3, I heard this game is a completionist nightmare full off simple and boring fetch quests, but considering I am not a completionist, I just did the quests that seemed interesting to me and ignored what sounded boring, also read about all the complains on glitches, most of those are patched by now, the game played swiftly for me, no bugs, rarely any lag, this game was overall about 60 hours of fun for me, and I am considering a second playthrough which is extremely rare for me, I usually just finish a game and trade it or sell it. Contender for game of the year. It's been a long wait, but man has it been worth it. Great battle mechanics, much to do (with purpose) and guess what? It doesn't fee grindy (say what?). This is because Bioware, does what it does well and offers solid STORIES. Not just a good main story, but hundreds of good side stories (so far). Thank you, Bioware!

What is wrong with some people?! giving this game a bad review...this game is amazing. It has amazing art, graphics, the gameplay is fluid..you can tell that the devs have put a lot of time, effort and love into making this game. I love it. Also, the online is still alive and well. Don't hate..appreciate.

Awesome game, put more than 150 hours into this, so much to do, great combat, great characters, great story, I know a lot of people have a lot of hate for bioware nowadays but this to me is proof that they still have what it takes to make an awesome game. Can't wait for the next instalment! Plus the game is huge!

This game encompasses all that an RPG should. First, there are a lot of options available for character design. Second, this game is about choice and you get to make a lot of choices. Role playing as The Inquisitor you can decide how many of the side quests to do, which NPCs you want to go deeper into their stories, etc. You don't have to do every side quest. You don't have to get to know every NPC, including the major ones. You get to pick. After 4 playing through 4 times I knew which NPCs I enjoyed and which ones I didn't care to follow. Not only that but in cases like Liliana, you get to help her find herself again(if you pick the right choices).

So this game is for people who like to immerse themselves in a different world, for people who enjoy reading codex and getting to know NPCs. I cannot say enough good things about this game. It has high replay value. The combat is fun but also easy on Normal so if you want a challenge I'd start with a higher difficulty.

If you enjoy role-playing and immersing yourself in a fantasy world you will love this game.

A sprawling open world with gorgeous, immersive environments. A brilliant narrative with fabulously developed characters, the best villain BioWare has written since Jon Irenicus. And most importantly, Deep, tactician, fast-paced combat that combines everything I liked about Dragon Age 2 and Origins together. And last but not least, the best soundtrack in gaming since the Neverwinter Nights series.

The gameplay appeals to all gamers. You can play casually in normal or easy without the need for much planning or pouring over skill trees. Or you can bring it to the epic level of party-based combat that I haven't seen since Throne of Bhaal. Turn on all the trials, put the slider on "Nightmare" and you will have epic fights that will end brutally for you unless you plan a great party comp from hours of pouring over the many skill trees and brilliant crafting system (the best I have ever seen in a video-game) that will give you the edge you need to overcome the great difficulty this game can have.

Still the most beautiful game world ever, it's artistry rivals Dark Souls and the texture detail is far beyond The Witcher 3.

Probably the most underrated video-game of this generation, this is one of the very, very best experiences there is. And the best RPG of this generation, with Dark Souls 3 being the only close 2nd.

The only bad think (and it's not necessary something bad, at least for me) is that it can be a bit confusing at the beginning, since there are a lot of things to do and a lot of thinks you may not fully understand, but once you surpass this "filter" the game starts for you, and i can promise that it's going to be one of the best game adventures of your life.

The story since Dragon Age Origins is just superb, the universe is researched, detailed, the construction of the characters, the interactivity with, romances, the influence of our choices on their lives and ours, wow

My only problem now is that since playing the 2 Bioware trilogies, I find most of the other games a little more bland in terms of writing depth, immersion, everything seems more rigid, I can't wait any longer for the next opus !

Don't mind the people giving this game a 0. SOME might have actually played some of it but, they are probably shallow, simple-minded gamers who just can't handle a game of complexity. The games has its flaws as you can’t set your attributes, just a few classes, little choices that trully impact story, but I’m gonna say again: it’s still a great game. BioWare did an awesome job by creating an interesting environment that worth to live in.

The pros definitely outweigh the cons here and it starts with content. While the first area you go to is about the worst starting area I've seen in a long time for an RPG, the amount of content available to you all throughout the game is wonderful. It's only surpassed by long standing MMO's and even then it would give them a run for their money. With a decent combat system pretty much copy and pasted from DA:2, the trek throughout this game is wonderful. I loved seeing all the environments and how I interacted with them. The characters work well too. They aren't particularly memorable but they are better than alot of other games today. The game seems to flow very well, keeping you interacting with the environment and your party. There are some returning characters from both DA 1 and 2, along with some fresh new faces. They do a good job at answering alot of questions that might have been left after the first two games.
There are some definite problems with this game though and the first one is kinda obvious when dealing with a game this size: the bugs. There are so many bugs in this game, particularly audio bugs, that follow you everywhere you go. There's really no way around some of them and, while not all of them are a problem, when the game seizes up and crashed multiple times over the coarse of the playthrough, we've got a problem. The second problem is the story. The story takes a very weird turn about 75% of the way through for pretty much no reason and doesn't give a payoff. Obviously they are setting up for a fourth game but I'm not impressed with the way they had to do it here, especially since the story here is EASILY the weakest of the games so far. It's almost a joke.
Story and bugs withstanding, this game is great. There's so much to do and so much to see that it easily pays the cost of the game by itself. The series has potential again after a misstep with DA2 but I really hope it doesn't take them 5-6 years to put out the next one or else it might be forgotten yet again.

I've played all the DA games and this is by far the best. Easily as good, if not better than, classics like Skyrim and Mass Effect. An enormous world, diverse combat and engaging stories. I'm 10 hours in and only just scratched the surface (which is probably 9 hours and 30 minutes longer than the reviewer complaining that the story is only "evil shows up, let's kill it" has played).

There are still the well known Bioware glitches present and some of the assets seem dropped in and not organic but the overall presentation is still gorgeous.

The original tale told in Origins captured many fans with divergent storytelling and intricate RP elements. DA2 with all of it's flaw (of which there are plenty) created a compelling hero and sped up the action. Inquisition is tremendous in scope. The world, unlike traditional sandbox games, is broken into several smaller, yet still impressively massive and dense landscapes. What's better is that each location feels different, rewards and encourages exploration, and takes hours to bring to completion. These locales are as much the story of DA:I as the central plot, changing as you make allies or conquer objectives. The narrative itself is fairly well written, but does hinge greatly on a piece of DA2 dlc that all but the truly enamored with Hawke as a character bothered attempting. Still, the story is supported with a compelling cast save for a Qunari who sounds oddly familiar. The narrative's pacing is good and progress as a hero and an institution feels earned. Some cameos are well placed and don't feel forced. There are many opportunities for customization; skill set, armor and weapons, mounts to ride, and even your fortress. Though, to be fair, the Skyhold choices are fairly limited and the larger irreversible ones are rare and have very limited effect. After 121 hours, the campaign completed, every dragon slain, and every task mastered; I'm not only satisfied, but impressed. There was much to enjoy in this outing and very little to complain about. Other that Freddy Prince Jr (he's the same character only with a slight refrain), the voice acting was excellent. The customization options for characters was ample. As always, the soundtrack was superb. Multiplayer is engaging for a time but becomes repetitive quickly and lacks the same level of enjoyment of ME3. Expand

Dragon Age: Origins is still one of my all time favourite games. It had the best characters and voice acting of any game I had previously played, superb story and atmosphere and really packed an emotional punch at times. Far bigger than the previous games. Just the core game itself took me well over a 100 hours to complete, and the DLC will add many more. The characters are good, the crafting second to none. It looks beautiful: every time I play it, I forget how nice it looks. On to the not-so-good: it lacks the soul of the original. There is a moment when you move to a different area in the first quarter of the game, and that is beautifully done and packs a real emotional punch, but i never quite surpasses that. The graphics, whilst beautifully detailed are more like the shinier Dragon Age II, whereas I was very fond of the earthy watercolour palette of the original. Overall, this is a superb RPG, and whilst Witcher 3 has come along and crushed it, if you haven't played it there is much to enjoy here. Crafting is still the most detailed of any game out there, and the companions are superb- just sit back and listen to the banter between them! Expand

Nightmare modes gives a good challenge for those who enjoy one. The story is good but certainly the writing can be better but it is a good story that any fan of RPG games can enjoy. My only other problem is that the music while travelling is not always playing and while that's ok I think the gaps are too long creating a silence where I would prefer music to be playing.

Overall I'd give it a solid 9.2 but since you can only give it whole numbers its a 9. I always give the score it deserves not a 10 or 0 to "balance" out the scores because people here think their score should be the correct one.

Though they still sometimes occur, there is still the occasional issue with dialogue (solved by simply saving and reloading). You may want to wait for another patch--some abilities, actually a fair amount, simply do NOTHING and this is obviously a major flaw that should have been fixed far before release. It would be like playing a FPS where half of your guns are firing blanks and you don't know it. Great game, great story, great graphics. The characters are excellent and constantly shine in this game, and the replayability is through the roof--using Dragon Age Keep online, you can create different histories of the Warden that ended the Fifth Blight (DA: Origins) and Hawke (DA2). I definitely recommend this game, once that major flaw is fixed.

Graphics aside (I'll get to that later) the combat is slightly less action orientated than DA2, however it tends to focus more on steering you on a tactical route, making you think before you jump right in to every fight (at least on hard and nightmare difficulty. Easy not worth mentioning.) This change was welcome, but to be honest I did find the tactical camera a bit needless, aside from pausing combat and scanning the enemies stats.

I liked most of the side characters and companions (except Cole, he's weird.) Story was enjoyable and for once the split path does give the game a bit diversity (limited, but more than many other games have offered on such a scale.)

Now for the visuals: Most of the areas a re simply massive. So much space that you get a little intimidated at first. Also the diversity in backdrops is impressive. Makes you wonder why they didn't put this kind of effort into DA2.

A comparison between the PS3 and PS4 version: Visuals are significantly better on the PS4 (making the PS3 version look ugly by direct comparison.) This is especially noticeable in the backgrounds as they have allot more detail. I also noted the PS3 version is buggier and has longer loading times. Asdie from that the game plays exactly the same.

    Overall:
It's been a while since I found a game that I immersed myself into like this. I thoroughly injoied this game and hope that this is what we can expect from now on from Bioware.

    Developer Tip:
If any developer read this, please give the Inquisitor a choice in casual clothes while at the keep. It seems a bit funny that he/she has only one look yet has dozens of different looking armors for each class. Not essential, but would be nice.

More than any other game I’ve played recently, Dragon Age: Inquisition is a game experience that reflects what you, the player, put into it. While claims of 20 to 200 hours of gameplay based on previews and developer interviews are still being debated, the fact is that this game contains an impressive wealth of content. I’ve already experienced one moment in the game when I though “a lesser developer would have ended the game here and saved the rest for a sequel or paid DLC.” Inquisition is a great game, a more than worthy addition to the series, and in my opinion, more than redeems Bioware’s reputation after the widely criticized DA2. I’m roughly 30 hours into the game and still feel like I’m much closer to the beginning than to the end.

In terms of gameplay, Inquisition would probably be best categorized as an action RPG. It feels less tactical than previous entries in the series, but this may be due to the fact that I’m playing DAI on a console and played the previous games on PC. My character is an archer, so my experience is largely limited to ranged combat, but the overall gameplay and feel of combat is positive. Most animations are good, and the camera is generally cooperative. Character movement feels fluid and natural, though perhaps a bit sluggish at times during combat. Bioware has also included a tactical mode which can be switched on and off as needed. This allows you to issue orders to your party in a much more tactical manner, though the camera in this mode could use some improvement.

Two of the most obvious issues with gameplay involve jumping. For starters, the jumping animation leaves something to be desired, and your characters seems to jump straight up in a very limited fashion. The tendency to get caught by small objects while moving makes jumping tedious and frustrating. Fortunately, you don’t have to jump too often (though I found myself cursing my bunny-hopping rogue as I tried to dodge the fireballs spewed by a dragon). The second issue is that the jumping button is also used as your primary means of interacting the with world. This means that, more often than not, you will literally find yourself jumping up and down any time you try to pick up loot. More critically, in instances where your interaction is time-sensitive, the fraction of a second it can take for the game to recognize an interaction opportunity can have dire consequences. Perhaps they should have mapped the interact function to the right side of the d-pad. It’s counterintuitive, but I do not believe that button is used for anything else, and it would solve some issues.

Last, and absolutely not least, are the story and characters. This is where DAI really shines, but also where you have to invest some time to get the most bang for your buck. Characters are all well-rounded, with distinct personalities and strong backstories which are revealed throughout the course of the game – if you take the time to talk to them. It’s generally a good idea to check-in with at least one or two characters any time you return to your base of operations, and always after major advancements in the storyline. I’ve frequently noticed myself spending more than an hour in Haven just swapping out some gear and talking to people. It’s not simply a scrollfest, as you have to make decisions about how you talk to people, decisions which have consequences. Your compatriots’ opinions of you can and will open up new missions and War Table operations for you through the course of the game.

I’m certain there’s a lot I’ve overlooked, and I’m not even close to finishing the game yet. While there is still room for improvement, Inquisition is easily one of the best RPGs of the year. In fact, it’s probably one of the best games of the year, period. A great story that’s written and presented well, made even better through the fact that you actually have a say in how it turns out. The Dragon Age games usually lend themselves to multiple playthroughs if you want to experience everything, and DAI is no exception. Most importantly for Bioware, Inquisition goes a long way towards reestablishing the proud tradition of the Dragon Age series.

The story is standard fantasy fare, but any rpg gamer sees those all the time. Characters are good enough, there are dialogues, romancing is back, as well as fighting in a party of 4 the player controls. This part in the series features large open areas to explore, which are beautifully designed and full of stuff to do. As a player, your job is to set up an inquisition that has to defeat a demon invasion. Players are able to influence the functioning of this inquisiton; which characters join, which missions to take, build up fortifications and camps to increase influence over areas, etc. The sound effects are good enough, the music is beautiful, and the whole game breathes high fantasy well enough. Finally, the controls are perfectly fit for a controller. All in all, a fine RPG and I am happy a game like this finally has arrived on the PS4. It's my personal game of the year!

One thing though: I play on the 'hard' difficulty setting and it feels more like 'normal'. So, if you want some challenge and having to use the tactical view do put the game on hard before you start!
The only negative point I can come up with is the fact that clearing an area of all activities feels very much like an Assassin's Creed game or WoW, which means you're kind of racing through all the icons on the map to grey them out. I prefer no icons and real exploration. Still, you won't find any better rpg on the PS4.

The dialogue and combat is a mix of KOTOR and Dark Souls, with top notch voice acting from the main characters to the side characters.
I love that this game has so much lore especially for newcomers to the series, for example dialogue options can be expanded to learn more about a history or an event that conspired good or bad, to certain characters from the past or present and how they have influenced the current setting, or even to a place that shows a fallout of years of past and present if you so choose to listen of course which me myself did.

Graphics aren't exactly next gen but the lighting effects most definitely are to level of Infamous Second Son lighting next gen lighting effects at it's best, combat is effective each hit to a foe weather it's a hammer or a sword you can feel the punch.
The open world and environments are as interesting as if i were exploring Tamriel in Skyrim,

Some disadvantages is the War Table for one this is the place you go to set your objectives open up new areas basically progress in the game,

The war table is pretty confusing i didn't feel I was making any progress with it, I instead felt I was just pointing my finger randomly on a map that I knew nothing off,
The menu screen is another fault it consists of character level progression to character customization to your map navigation (which you will use frequently, the layout of all these combined are as bad as Dark Souls menu screen Interface.
Graphics aren't exactly next gen either but for a game of this scale I can forgive this.

My final thought's on Dragon Age Inquisition is that if your a fan of RPG's with a mix of Darks Souls, Game of Thrones Politics and KOTOR styled dialogue and combat plus have the patience and time to commit alot of hours into Inquisition is the game for you.

The combat is generally intuitive. The dialogue is RPG cheese but if you are into a game for just beyond killing, this is it. The choices are largely noticeable, the little people will talk about what happened and only so far once has a convo been behind the times.

I think how you play your character with the other groups makes a difference. I think the AI is good enough people complaining about combat being easy is the root of that complaint. I for one like my AI not being totally stupid but you should keep an eye on them, as because like PCs, NPCs will do something dumb.

The RPG genre is the hardest to get right and aside from a few graphical glitches, I've had very few moments that ruined the experience.

Its the few minor issues that stop the game from being more than a 9/10 but the game met expectations, it has been interactive and as a massive hater of EA, I really really hate giving them money, this game is worth while.

Wonderful RPG full of believable characters.

If you can forgive its minor shortcomings (graphical glitches) you'll have a great time playing this game.

The only real complaint I have about this game is the lack of choice in the ending. It's a shame I can't decide how the game ends in a game that greatly revolves around difficult choices.

Great game. It looks really, really good on the PS4. Lots to do on maps, and the war table is a nice addition. My only real complaint is that I wish there were more options to customize ability branches. Also, the tactical camera is a nice addition, but I never really use it for much on normal setting.

I'm about 24 hours in now and bugs have been absolutely minimal. Loading times are next to nothing. This game is polished. The lore is rich and the artwork is beautiful. There are SO MANY different ways to play this game- it's entirely up to the player: your abilities, the characters, the stories you take: there is so much playability within one game path and there are so many paths a player could choose to take. My favorite feature is the war room and the meta-strategy involved with leading advisers. Each sandbox is just phenomenal- from forests to desert- they're all good. Of course there are things I wish were different or better: I would like to have more villages to explore, a full first person mode (which would be too good to be true), even deeper character relationships, "evil" choices, and mounts for everyone in your party. But, I am obviously satisfied. This is gaming as an art form -it's what the new gen desperately needed- in its scope, detail, humor, immersion, challenge, and imagination. Expand

I would recommend this game to players who like spending time chatting with NPC's, making decisions having an impact on the story, it's a perfect occasion to do some RP with your inquisitor, judge people, make allies, construct relationships.

Graphics are good enough, stop being a spoiled child if you judge only on that. I prefer when the devs spend more time creating a backstory, and a game system that allows different play styles. I had fun playing this game, from the first to the last minute

I regret that they weren't more RP possibilities, like sitting everywhere, talking to companions during the missions, something to actually do in your huge bedroom instead of just changing clothes. That's why I don't give it a 10

I recommend this game to people who like putting time and investment into a game, you'll be rewarded. It is a bit slow to start and to understand what this game actually is, but it opens up after the first big battle. I suggest you follow the main quest until you reach Skyhold, and then spend time explore the regions.

The Multi-player feature to this game is amazing and I find it very fun even more if you have friends to play with. The game-play in Multi-player reminds me of the Baldur's Gate series which I also enjoy a fair amount.

I ordered this game on Origin this morning and thought I'd give it a try since they offer a nice refund policy. After 27GB of download later I found myself quite disappointed with the results. My system met the recommended system requirements yet there were still quite a lot of stutters with framerates. I'm not particularly picky about graphics when it comes to these games especially when it offers a huge amount of content so lowering the settings to minimal helped a bit with that problem. However, there's also this problem with the controls on the keyboard and mouse that I have a major issue with. It made the game feel really cheaply made like a typical MMO with clunky WASD controls. Movement feels weightless and the controls for camera, aiming, and skills just don't seem solid enough. Also the tactical view is so disconnected from the game that it's like the game is constantly pushing you to play the third person mode instead. The camera work on tactical mode is just as bad sadly. I was hoping to get the sort of controls that was in dragon age where everything felt familiar and you have really solid control over the camera angles over fights.

I suppose majority of the work went into the gamepad because after 30 mins I could not bare to play with the keyboard and mouse. I immediately plugged in my ds4 controller and my goodness, the controls were smooth and felt real really great. It was so good on the controller that it was like playing a whole different game. So right after that I decided to get a refund on origin and grabbed myself a ps4 copy and after a couple hours on the game, I must say, everything I read in the reviews are just spot on. This game could end up as one of my favourite games of all time and has a really good spot right beside skyrim.

Moral of the story, do not play with keyboard and mouse, it's a nightmare!

The sheer amount of things to do, explore and lore behind the series is almost too much - you just dont know where to begin! But once you get past that, it is ridiculously engrossing and enjoyable to play. I have really enjoyed the environments within the game, though not all connected as one huge open world, they are none the less huge within themselves. Everything looks nice and the attention to detail is quite impressive.

The storyline from my viewpoint is good, though I was a bit confused at the very beginning and did not understand how I came to have the powers that I had. Character creation is undoubtedly the most impressive thing I have ever seen - you can TRULY make your character yours....

The only negative things I have to say are that the character animations can be quite rigid at times and when your character jumps he looks like he/she is constipated.. and mine makes the weirdest sounds. I have also found, at least in my copy, that during cut scenes the camera focuses on background objects a lot of the time which leaves the character out of focus... aside from that, I really don't have anything bad to say. It could be contender for game of the year 2014.

IF you enjoy RPG's and want to spend days and days and days engrossed in a massive world with a lot to do - this is for you. It's a great game.

The original Dragon Age Origins was one of the greatest games I've ever played and never felt like another RPG reached the same height that game did. Before that it had been Knights of the Old Republic 2 that left me yearning for years. Don't get me wrong, there are a ton of high quality RPG's out there. The Mass Effect Series and Deus Ex Human Revolution were outstanding, but neither had the same party style gameplay that the fantasy counterparts in the RPG world have and the Elder Scroll series is just a different style of RPG. Dragon Age Inquisition skipped over the hack and slash style of Dragon Age 2 to return to a level, not quite as high as Dragon Age Origins at its time, that is enthralling with good longevity.

The game follows a mighty hero that falls haphazardly into the middle of an apocalyptic event. It's the fairly standard fare of "I'm a nobody, who happens to be amazing, and falls backward into being a hero." While I've read several reviews that found the story to be lacking, I actually found it pretty interesting. There are quite a few religious overtones to the game that can go either way depending on how you want to interact with the world. Being someone who is, myself, religious I found quite a few thoughtful encounters, but they could easily be played the exact opposite for someone who is not, or fairly agnosticly.

The world is beautiful and varied. The ten main areas are fairly diverse, though there are three areas that are essentially slight variations on desert. The game is a bit deceiving as the first area, the Hinterlands, is by far the largest and most densely packed area and the other areas are either much smaller or slightly smaller and much less densely populated. Groups in the different areas are mostly interesting and the cultures are widely varied.

Combat is fun, though there are no healing spells in the game, which is my main complaint. With limited potions available for healing it felt like they were trying to mimic the healing effects in Dark Souls (Dark Souls does having healing spells, but their effectiveness while in combat isn't very good). The problem with this in Dragon Age is that Dark Souls is rarely about fighting hordes of enemies and only have to worry about keeping yourself alive instead of managing multiple characters. Dragon fights are epic and provide a good challenge and a great sense of reward once they are defeated. I will sayI played through the game on nightmare (for the trophy) which was tough and intense, before switching to normal after I beat the game. Playing on nightmare was enjoyable, but once I was on normal the combat became dull as it required little effort. Even for enemies about the same level as my character I rarely had to do much more than just hold down the attack button.

The party members feel alive with their own motivations and takes on the world. There was only one party member I flatly disliked having in my party because of their personality. It wasn't the best cast of characters I've ever had in an RPG, but the main party members along with the other recurring characters made the game more enjoyable and made me feel invested in what happens.

A lot of what Dragon Age Inquisition does best is having a lot of content on the side. There is a war room where you can send agents out into the world to complete quests on their own and gain rewards and power for you. You can sit in judgment of those who have opposed you. There is a keep to upgrade called Skyhold which you eventually make your way to after the first part of the game being spent at Haven. There is a detailed crafting system, and a gathering system, that allows you to create armor, weapons, upgrade spells and craft extra components to go on weapons as well as runes to enchant them. The armor and weapons I was able to craft were never as good as what I was able to find in the world, and by the end of the game I was bogged down with good epic gear (and an inordinate amount of epic two handed melee weapons). The runes are powerful and useful, though be careful as they are consumed on use and can't be reused, and useful runes are rare and the materials to craft them aren't very common either.

Dragon Age Inquisition is a great game that does a lot of extra things not seen normally in RPG's. Despite my few gripes (lack of healing spells, crafting recipes that aren't actually helpful) there is a ton of content to the game that stays interesting. I've logged eighty hours in the game and still enjoy it. There is a multiplayer component similar to Mass Effect 3's, but I doubt anybody would be buying the game for that. It's fine, but the main draw is the extensive and enjoyable single player. I would highly recommend this as a buy.

Pros: Great gameplay, settings, maps, things to do, weapons and skills to unlock
Cons: many side quests uninspired, especially early in the game. lacks the cameras face to face in quests

Despite the technical issues the game still has (Crashing, dialogus not showing and complaints about save files getting corrupted, which i have yet to experience) it's a very great and time consuming game. I've completed the game just a hour ago (The main story quest) and it's a great ending for a sequel. 9/10

I will start off by saying that I hated Skyrim, and didn't even really like DA II. Stopped playing both of those games within a couple of hours. I know they are well-liked by many, but the game play was difficult for me. I'm not a hardcore gamer. I did, however, love the Mass Effect games, and Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning- and DA:I is kind of reminds me of both.

    What I love:
    Graphics...pretty graphics, backgrounds, totally gorgeous.
Quests are engaging for the most part. I am staying up way too late because of this game.

    What I don't love:

No. Freaking. Stash. Wtf. Its not so much that I'm trying to be a hoarder like I am on Diablo 3, but inventory management needs to be done pretty much after every quest, and its not very simple. You have to switch in and out of all your companions to check for upgrades on the stuff they can use or else you end up selling things that were useful. It takes me about 10 minutes to do, and totally takes me out of the game. You don't just look through weapons and gear. You also have schematics, upgrades, runes, recipes. Its not very difficult to figure out, but if I'm tired, that's the point that I turn off the game until the next day.
Glitches are here and there, which isn't a huge deal to me. What annoys me though is that whenever your Inquisitor is speaking to either an npc, or advsior, or companion, you barely hear their side of the convesation. Every single person I speak to is almost whispering, and I if I forget to bring down the volume, I blast out sound if I get into a fight right after. I don't have any sound issues with my PS4 or television with any other game.
Other than those two main things on the negative side, I can't tear myself away from this game. I'm romancing Solas, which is playing hard to get, but I'm working on my elf milkshake to bring him to the yard. Maybe Iron Bull would have been easier, but I'll try that next play-through. Right now I've done about 20 hours.
I'm currently playing an Elf Rogue Archer. As long as I have two mages and a warrior in my team at all times, I'm good.
Tip: most crafted weapons are going to beat out what you usually find in the game, at least until you get to Skyhold. I'll have to see how the rest goes.

This Dragon Age is a delight, the Graphics are looking good, the voice acting is good, the game play is very good and Hard, if we choose a wrong attack/Spell it can cost as a battle.
Great Story, Great side story's, man... I love this game.

    Keep it going Bioware!

Outstanding game. And yes, it IS a game for those who like to complain about the color of grass or the shape of a cloud. Funnily, people who complain about this praise things about DA:O (which was awesome) that were in DA:O as well (such as OTT blood splattered party members).

The first part of this game is a grind in the Hinterlands, and if like some of the numpties who felt compelled to "0" review it after 15 minutes of game time, you only ever stick to that area's endless list of fetch quests which are designed to bring people new to the series into the game world with easy to do tasks (well, until you hit that level 12 farm gate, or the dragon)... without ever venturing forth, you're going to dislike this.

But the excellence in design here is that you can begin to do things in any order you wish. You can progress the story without fear of locking out previous areas (something that happened in DA:O - I'm not knocking DA:O as its on my all time favorite list).

People say NYEH NYEH Mass Effect was so much better and non linear. Ermm... Mass Effect WAS quite linear. Roaming a planet in a bugged buggy is freedom? No, there was still only perhaps three places worth visiting per planet, and many of the story quests and exploration had to be done in a particular order in order to be completionist. And there was TONS of fetch quests, deliver messages, kill 3 bad guys, etc.

Mass Effect was an amazing game that I loved... but it's just insanity that people fondly remember games and choose to ignore flaws and frustrations that they absolutely would have **** about back then, just to throw mud at a new title.

I paid $50 for DA:I. When I finish sinking 50+ hours into (I'm 20 now and have barely scratched it), will I have got my money's worth? That will be a rate of $1 an hour. You piss money away at the cinemas for 90 - 180 minutes worth of a film you may or may not like.

Bioware have done an outstanding job again. Yeah there's things that you might not like. But when EVER has a game been truly perfect? Never. Bugs have existed since Pong, and you either accept them or if they are game breaking (which nothing in this has been), you move along.

Inquisition mixes the best elements from Origins & 2 brilliantly. It is held back by some ludicrous design choices though like now being unable to assign skills points anymore, the jump button being mapped to the same as the action button and being unable to view "friendship" values with each companion, which is necessary to unlock certain missions. Other than a few things like that, it's incredible and a sure contender for game of the year. The amount of content packed in is nearly overwhelming, there's is no shortage of things to to do in Thedas. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a step in the right direction for Bioware. They made a massive sprawling world with several unique locations to visit each substantial in size. A lot of new changes this time around in DA:I such as first time tactical camera for consoles, the War Room(Which is awesome by the way) you can go to the war table and complete operations and gain gold, materials, power, influence, etc, fights with high dragons(It's awesome), Skyhold your own base of operations- which you can upgrade and model to your liking, I made a mage so I use the mage throne with Tevinter Imperium decor giving Skyhold a very mage-like look it to it, etc. The combat in DA:I is quite fun as well u can have up to 4 people in your party you included and play as you like. There are 3 different classes and 4 different races in the game and each follower is unique and each has a special personality. The party options are literally endless, If you want to go 4 mage's you can do that or if you want to double up on your warrior's you can do that too. The dialogue and interactions between characters are superb. The writing is awesome in this game and the storyline is pretty good IMO at least even tho critics are saying it falls flat and maybe in some aspects it does at some points it does but overall pretty damn good. I mean *SPOILERS you get fight Corypheus the ancient Magister who started the blight how cool is that.* This game is open and endless I'm in over 100 hrs and there's still plenty to do. Play as you like in this game if you want to go full on strategy then use the tactical camera if you want to go more action oriented then you can do that too. This game is not without it's faults though. Some minor bugs/glitch such as audio bugs, character record screen freezing sometimes, followers go silent, etc but nothing too big. The tactical top-down camera can be iffy and annoying at times, set amount health potions plus no healing spells, lastly the thing that bothers me the most you can only access the spells/abilities mapped to your buttons on your controller no longer can yo access all your abilities in the radial menu. Overall Dragon Age Inquisition is a great rpg experience without outstanding writing and character development and awesome fun addicting game play. P.S. don't listen to the people saying this game is crap because it's not it's mostly people who haven't played it who are Bioware haters and are thinking this since EA is evil that Bioware must be too. It's a great game that will fill that great rpg void in your life and it doesn't deserve a 0 whatsoever. Expand
