The difficulty in Dishonored 2 i so unbalanced... the AI vs sword combat. On Easy, guards are dumb as **** but their close combat skill is on acceptable level (it's the last resort, but sometimes necessary). On Hard difficulty, AI is finally acceptable, but close-combat is impossible.

Dear Bethesda, If You make stelath game, don't insult us Gamers with AI!! I expect a challenge in stealth from a stealth game!! Therefore, this game is unplayable unless You achieve a Zorro-level in close-combat (which isn't perfect in DH2)

I give 7 for the environment, the story, music, RPG elements, Garret as Corvo's voice, stealth.
I take 3 points for unbalanced difficulty

Beaten on Hard Low Chaos Run as Emily.

This game is better than the first. The world feels alive and there's an impressive amount of choice and novelty in each level. It does have a bit of a steep learning curve and the load times are a bit long, but the actual moment-to-moment gameplay, when you get into the groove of it, is awesome. A must play for anyone who enjoys single player

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After playing the first Disordered i felt a great sense of achievement. I had never played a game like this before and to be honest i struggled at times but i pushed through it. i loved the level design the attention to detail and the writing.
I cant say i was a fan of the combat but i kept playing because i enjoyed the other aspects of the game so much. i didn't not buy Disordered 2 on launch day or even the same year it came out.
when i did get round to buying i actually some how got it for free, The guy in the store who i was talking to when he served me kind of spaced out, swiped my GAME loyalty card and precoded to hand the game over to me with out charging me. I didn't really notice myself until i was out the shop and half way up the high-street. Thank god i got it for free because this game sucks a big bag of dicks.
It has the same problems as the first one. **** combat and the level design is worse combat is still shockingly clunky and unreliable. I hated it so im happy i got it for free but dam what a **** show.
The Clockwork Mansion was as far as i got.....yes Level 4 god dam it. That is the worst level design i have ever seen i dont know what they were thinking. Please don't make a 3 make another Doom instead please.

The story is simple: you are on a vendetta and kill everyone who did you harm. What really bugged me: the city has something uncomfortable. Somehow its really ugly, but it fits the plot.

Nevertheless, it was a surprise gem for me which I really enjoyed.

The soundtrack is as epic as the first Dishonored's, but there are traveling duos across Karnaca that truly gild the lily. The "Brigmore Lullaby" is as good as "The Drunken Whaler", and so is the song of the credits.

In terms of level-building, Dishonored 2 has set an example of how to create solid and not particularly large levels while offering a huge number of possibilities (both in high and in low chaos, which everything they imply by separate). The movements are now smoother, there are a significant quantity of new powers and combat options and, more importantly, you can play either with Emily or Corvo (which does make a difference, especially regarding the magic powers).

Last but not least, the artistic design of settings and the storyline are simply top quality. I do not recall a game with so many text excerpts, audiographs, posters, hidden places to be discovered, etc. distributed across the nine missions. It is impossible to see/read everything with just one playthrough. The storyline unfolds gradually and is perfectly connected to the events that occured in the previous Dishonored (DLC included).

Unlike the first Dishonored, which I disliked at some points, I can say nothing negative about Dishonored 2. It is spherical, almost flawless; one of the five best games I have ever played, as I said above. Highly recommendable.

Superb stealth game but suffers from some technical issues. Game play is very varied however my main problem is with the story. It was not engaging at all and was very predictable. If the story was more dynamic and enticing then this would be the best stealth game on PS4.

I loved the first game cause of its story and well design, the way players could make their own custom routes around levels. The sequel refines all of this and makes it better also with more content such as 2 playable characters flesh and steel and overall story.

It breaks my heart with this review on Dishonored 2. As a massive fan of the first game I was so hyped for this one being to play as Emily and Corvo HECK YES. But it isn't remotely memorable as the first one. You really don't feel for it like you did in the first game being falsely accused of killed your lover. Still fun and great abilities though.

She is boring. I understand that world of the game is not a funny one, but do she really has some personalities that devide her in a good way from Corvo? Emotion spectre that they bring to you is the same (and its gray).
Corvo also doesnt really work for me this time, he doesnt open up as a new deeper more complex person he is just old dad/man with quite a boring motivation.
    2. Lots of ways of killing - but concentration on peacefull playthrough. I dont know, maybe some kind of non-deadly bullets (from rubber idk) for pistol and more ways of disabling folks might change this? Cause its quite strange when you have a gun in your arm and dagger in another, but try your best to not use them a single time throughout the game.

My father's laptop however, I can't play the game on. It lags. The mouse is very slow and unsteady. So I've given up on that system. I think the problem lies in the fact that you need to have a supported graphics card. I play everything on high except shadow detail and other things like that and have no problems.
The game itself is awesome!! The graphics are steller, the AI is engaging and can be challenging at times. The different combat elements are interesting and never boring. I've found a bone charm called Seperation Trauma which renders your possessed humans and dogs unconscious when you leave the host. AWESOME! Love chaining from one host to another rendering them unconscious, saves on sleep darts. There are so many different ways to eliminate threats either killing or unconscious that it is never boring. Looking for loot and other items is challenging but fun. I don't see why the metascore is not higher on this game, it is truly a winner and a stellar game.

I enjoyed the first Dishonored. At the time it was a great game, it had issues but they could be forgiven as it was the first game in the series. Dishonored 2 however can not be forgiven for not improving over the first game. It actually feels more like a long DLC rather than a new, fresh game.

So here are the problems I have with Dishonored 2.

The Heart. The heart is basically a navigation tool used to locate bone charms and runes. These are used for leveling your character. Because they are vital to creating a stronger and more versatile character you really need to find them. This is when the problems occur. You spend most of your time getting frustrated by following the heart only to find a dead end and no reasonable route to get to where the bone charm/rune is located. So you walk around, look for gaps or platforms or ladders or cellars or windows. This becomes a repetitive annoyance that breaks the immersion and simply irritates the player. I felt like most of my time i was looking at the rune/bone charm icons instead of enjoying the game. This was such a big deal that it completely ruins the game.

The second issue I have is with enemy AI. It is ridiculously sensitive meaning that stealth seems impossible. Many times I was completely hidden only for enemies to know exactly where I was, alerting every other enemy in the area to all come to the same point. It was laughable at times. It meant I stopped bothering to try and sneak and scope the area out, I just ended up storming in and fighting.

Story. The story just didn't appeal this time. It didn't seem worth investing time into and I didn't care what about the characters.

There is fun to be had in the game, especially once you do level your character up but it seemed a long slog to get there. The graphics were decent enough and the world looked decent. Sound and music were fine but nothing outstanding.

Dishonored 2 doesn't feel like its moved on from the first game. It's not a bad game, but an average one at best. It's a shame that the dev team didn't improve on the leveling system or combat or story or AI because it could have been a good follow up. Sadly it didn't quite work.

The setting of the world is fascinating, Karnaca is more colourful than Dunwall but its still as sinister in their alleys as the Capital, i enjoy a lot the atmosphere and the overall aesthetic of the world, pretty nice concept art there, gonna get the artbook soon jeje.

The game shines in its gameplay and combat, is good, variated and very satisfying, especialyl with executions, they are fast and furious, plus the gun and bow has impact and its also a blast to shoot all up!! that of course if you want to play a high chaos gama, because Dishonored 2 has the great approach of stealth!! every mission can be taken in a number of ways and you have plenty options to play as a non lethal character. its dam good to be a badass killing witches and the royal guard as its great to stealth the ºººº out of them as well. Also it have a very good arrange of magic powers that are different between the 2 playable characters, which can add a little extra on a second playthrough.

Regarding the story i think it plays very safe, maybe the least interesting aspect of the game, but its more like a vengeance story. Yet its good enough to enjoy. On the bright side they are some amazing missions, particularly one in which you bend time and play the same mission in present and past at the same time and its veryyyyy niceeeeeeee!!!

Level design is also great, filled with rooms and places to discover, in a way this helps the multipath aspect of the game and makes you feel like shadow, nicking and learning the secrets of both common and important people of the game.

In short you can be a badass fighter that bring noise and rightful vengeance to your foes, a lethal assassin never spotted but deadly still or a ghost like the wind and still regain your throne and tip empires

Its a damn good game to play :)

This game can be more difficult than dishonored 1, with guards and enemies that have a normal range of vision rather than the near sighted morons you play against in the first one. Awesome graphics and fluid gameplay just like the last game with a cool story thats up to par with the last one.

This is amazing history! I prefer to use Corvo. I like his method :)
In my opinion, Dishonored 2 is a game of a year.

An amazing addition to the series.
    Awesome graphics, incredible AI.
The story was interesting and the gameplay was perfect.
Took what was great about Dishonored and built on it.
It was amazing to be able to delve into the world once again and discover more about the lore, history and culture of the empire.

But not Dishonored 2, no. Graphics don't impress. AI also disappoints. All of this should have been much better. The only good things are environment and locations, maybe art-direction.

I haven't had any issues with optimisation on PS4 (digital), except for long loading of the second location (like an hour!).

DISAPPOINTED! Glad that I've bought it in December with about 45% off.

Highlights: Superb map/mission design (especially the Clockwork Mansion, and the time-shifting device used in one mission), high replayability, great stealth mechanics.

Lowlights: weak story, cliched character development, insultingly brief & underproduced endings, boring swordplay.

Having beat the first installment I was thrilled to play the second. I was not disappointed. The story is a classic revenge tale that we've seen a thousand times before but with a twist. The developers saw fit to allow us to choose which perspective we wanted to play the game from (Corvo or Emily). I chose to play as Emily as it felt like that's the way the developers made the story to be.

LEVEL DESIGN: The levels are each very unique with so many secrets that you'll spend all your time searching every little nook and cranny to make sure you didn't miss anything. The environments are vibrant and feel very lively.

ENEMIES: The AI in this game is actually better than I expected. The enemies really react to everything you do and are not your typical wait-to-be-killed stock characters. The difficulty they present will really challenge you to use different approaches to each area.

STORY: The story is engaging enough to make you want to play through it. Its by no means the best RPG story but it is more than serviceable. The characters are well developed and each have vital roles to play. I was surprised by how interesting the in-game world was. There are numerous documents to read to further flesh out the backstory and enhance the experience. The best new thing was the fact that you can go through the entire game without killing anyone. This plays into the stealthy approach that the game has and I liked it.

CUSTOMIZATION: The weapons are similar to the first title with a lot of new powers and the chance to craft your own unique bonecharms. I found this to be particularly interesting when I came across two or three bonecharms with traits that I wanted to fuse into one bonecharm. The level up mechanic is also pretty cool to play around with. It encourages exploration which I enjoyed a lot.

I think the developers should look at the new tomb raider game as an example of a how to make a game that plays well with graphics to the PS4 standard... dont buy this game.

Both characters have their own specific powers, which can be used to defeat enemies, or circumvent obstacles. Each character also has a different voice actor, and their lines will be different depending on the situation. If you play a mission with Corvo, for example, and then play the same one with Emily, it will be completely different from a character’s perspective.

This is the game’s strongest suit, and it’s where the game truly shines: differences and choices. You can play non-lethal stealth, or completely obliterate your opposition. It’s entirely up to you. It’s what makes the game so appealing and unique. There are a lot of possibilities, but the downsides start to appear when you uncover the rest of the game, which consists of story and lore to explain the gameplay choices. Unfortunately, if you choose to play a “high-chaos” run as it is known in the game, you will be consistently felt as though you are playing incorrectly.

In true Dishonored fashion, any way but non-lethal seems to be an issue. So much so it’s almost as if the game wants you to play stealthy. If I have a choice, I need a consequence, and there just aren’t any for taking a non-lethal approach. The world loves you because you’re not killing anyone, and it smiles at you, giving you more and more choices. Start killing and the world of Dishonored becomes bleak, almost unbearable. There are more bloodflies and they will attack you more often. The city decays. Overall, this is the “bad” version, truly. Playing the game stealthy makes the game much easier, on top of that.

Dishonored 2’s biggest problem is exposition. If you aren’t reading every single piece of info you come across, whether it be a book, or a song, or a note, or a scrumpled up newspaper, you will only get half of the story. The other half is told to you in large chunks, which always feel either rushed or slow, but never keeping the right amount of pace. It’s almost as if it doesn’t know how much or how little you should know.

On top of that, the story as a whole is strange when it isn’t cliche. It’s a typical story of the ruler being overthrown and said ruler taking down the people responsible. However, the antagonist attacks at the beginning and the character you play as thinks the best course of action is to ignore that person completely and start attacking other important figures, most of whom you aren’t even aware they are even crucial in any way, shape or form aside from them being associated.

In the first Dishonored, Corvo knew exactly who was responsible and attacked them head-on. He didn’t lag about biding his time. On top of the pacing and exposition issues are the problems with the characters. Because of the poor exposition, you aren’t really given enough information to care about who it is you’re tasked with murdering. Emily isn’t a good empress. Often she acts as though she is right and everyone else who disagrees is wrong. Whereas the one who is attempting the takeover is the rightful ruler. What are you saying about monarchies, Dishonored 2?

Arkane has released a New Game + mode, which should have been included from the beginning. In spite of the glaring problems, Dishonored 2 is a worthwhile game, and an excellent sequel.

Your choice is important because whoever you pick has a huge impact on how the story unfolds. If you have played the first one I strongly suggest playing as Emily. She really offers a different perspective in the series that is quite refreshing to say the least. In D2 Emily is forced off the Empire's thrown thanks to the antagonist and being framed for a series of murders who all happen to be enemies of Emily and Corvo. Naturally, there is a conspiracy to uncover. I had a blast with Dishonored 2, and I am soon to start new game plus. I know upon release a lot of players were experiencing some bugs and glitches. I am not quite sure if it has all been patched but I saw nothing that was super obvious. That isn't to say there are no bugs. I saw several youtube videos of gamers experiencing some game-breaking bugs, nasty frame rate, etc so just make sure you have the latest update. I'm not sure if this goes for digital copies as well but I was quite surprised when I picked D2 up from gamestop (it was on sale for $39.99) little did I know that inside the case was a code for the Definitive Version of the first Dishonored! I was super excited because I traded my original copy in so I was really happy to start from the VERY beginning. If you have never played Dishonored then I would suggest you buy a copy that comes with the original and play through the first one. Granted Dishonored 2 does a pretty good job with catching you up and not leaning too heavy dialogue wise on the original game, but the lore is actually well-written and totally worth your investment. In a time where the gaming industry insists on making every game open world Dishonored 2 is a refreshing change of pace with it's original art design and world building. 3. Both protagonists are nicely voiced, and they both talk a lot. Since I'm a devoted Stephen Russell's fan since 1998, I personally prefer to hear Corvo's voice :).
    4. The world around you is alive. The Karnaca's street musicians sing *nice* songs, and the people around hear and applaud them. The City Watch cops whine about their cloths and boots, and even sing sometimes, too :). People at Karnaca's port are doing their own business: fishing, sawing, selling, discussing, looking for job. You can share a coin with beggars, and they can tell something useful in return. You can save an innocent people from the City Watch's tyranny, and they will thank you for this. Also, there is a time travel in the game, and you'll have to change something in the past to reach your goals in the present. My first playthrough took more than 60 hours - isn't that nice?

    - Great ascetics. The world felt alive.
    - High replayability. Being able to pick between Corvo and Emily and their own respective play styles made the game feel fresh. Experimenting with their powers was always entertaining and gave me some pleasant surprises.

Cons: -The overall story itself seemed like a retelling of the first game and was rather predicable. The worst let was how the story was told to the players. The dialogue between you and the other characters of the game were rather elementary, making it painfully obvious when you were about to make a story line changing decision. The "wrap up" conclusion you are given after you beat the game felt like a cliffnotes edition of the story where it simply just told you what happened to the people you spared or killed, making it feel as though your decisions didn't impact the game in any tangible and meaningful way.
-The clunky controls were hard for me to get past at the beginning. I was never able to feel like I had full control over my character, making it difficult for my to gain full confidence and fluency when having to make quick changes between powers in the heat of a battle, and it almost made it impossible to get coins out of a cash register without closing and opening it a couple times to get that last coin in there.

Overall it was a good game. I have no regrets of playing it and certainly had fun playing it when everything came together. The combinations of some of the powers were truly brilliant and there was one level towards the 3/4 of the way done mark that I thought was a masterclass in level design. Anyone who enjoyed the first entry in this series should have no problems getting behind the mask of Corvo one more time, or the equally enjoyable choice of playing as the sly Empress.

The world of Karnaca is stunning its like a painting in motion, it is totally immersing and real, the NPCs are frightened by the tyranny of the new duke, the guards are ruthless and the gangs merciless. Dishonoured 2 is an upgrade to the first one in every way possible and is definitely worth picking up.

Its only draw back is the forgettable and simple story/characters, and in any other game that would be a huge downside but because the moment to moment gameplay is so good the simple story does not get rid of the enjoyment.

I love the reward of a stealthy and non-lethal playstyle that I haven't seen in many other games. Coming into Dishonored 2, I was very excited to see what was in store for this new installment from Arkane Studios. And I came out extremely disappointed. There's no doubt that it's a fun game though, albeit a very flawed experience. Since the announcement, the developers promised a lot of change in the game. For starters we have the new setting: Karnaca. Even though there are sections that take place in Dunwall, most of the game is in Karnaca. This isn't a problem, though. The change in setting feels nice and adds a softer brighter tone to the game. But to be honest, this is the only thing that's changed in Dishonored 2. The only other thing that's changed is the new playable character, Emily Caldwin. You still have the option to play as Corvo, but I decided to see what Emily had to offer first. Clearly this game was meant to be played with her because going back and playing as Corvo, nothing has changed about him. His powers are exactly the same as they were in the original game, which won't really matter if you select No Powers mode. After my first playthrough, I felt like I had already seen everything there was to see. Not even the dialogue changes on the second run. They just replaced all the times Emily said Corvo with Corvo saying Emily. Come to think of it, not even playing as Emily is that different. All of her powers are mirror images of what Corvo's were in Dishonored 1 and are in Dishonored 2. While we're on the topic of powers, I'd like to bring up the fact that the upgrade system hasn't had any improvements. Don't get me wrong, I liked the upgrade system in the original, but there's so much room for improvement that they passed up on. In fact, they've kind of made it worse. The idea is that you look for items called Runes that you can use to unlock different powers and upgrades. Looking for Runes in Dishonored 1 was easy, and a nice distraction. In this game, it's a waste of time. They've made every Rune harder to find, and I've found myself spending almost 30 minutes on different Runes before I finally said **** it." The level design doesn't help with this problem either. And now we get to talk about that. The level design. It's atrocious. It can't even compare to the original's. For those of you who haven't played Dishonored, the game isn't open world, but each level is huge and filled to the brim with places to explore and collectibles to find. Dishonored 2 has one of those things, and that's the collectibles. Instead of being outside most of the time, almost every level in Dishonored 2 takes place indoors. Sure you have to be outside first to get to the building you're going to, but that's still a small portion of the level. Being inside makes the game way more difficult than it should be, even unfair sometimes. For people who want to do a Ghost run, you're going to be miserable here because most of the time there's nowhere to hide, and if you get caught, the only other option is running, which drains all of the fun out of the game. And even when you're inside most of the time, finding Runes is somehow still a pain in the ass. Jeez, it really feels like they wanted you to hate the level design. For a game that promised change from the original, all it feels like is a big-budget DLC. 7/10. Expand

It's pretty much the same story and pretty much the same gameplay. This game lacks in every aspect - the story is just a re-hash of the first one, the gameplay is so un-innovative it could be a mod for dishonored 1 and the graphics are actually worse in some parts than in D1.

If that was what you were hoping for then go and get dishonored 2 because it's just more of the same. The exact same.

If you wanted any fresh ideas and intresting features then don't waste your money on this. Seems like Dishonored was a one-hit wonder after all. Shame really.

Mechanically, the game works great except a baffling llack of Mission Replay and New Game+. The game seems designed for New Game+, but it's missing. Also, the ending scene is jarringly lackluster. There is no final dialogue sequence between the characters - after you spent 20 hours or more uniting Corvo and Princess whatshername. What in the hell? These things seem to indicate the studio did not have enough time to complete the game, which would have otherwise been a timeless masterpiece in the vein of Bioshock. Hopefully they continue to polish the end game with free patches and DLC, both of which they have indicated they are going to do.

I will update the score, hopefully to 10, in a couple of months.

Dishonored 2 is a great stealth action game that is filled with tons of replayability, allowing us to play as two different character arcs throughout a whole playthrough, each with their own unique abilities. While it may not have been as good as the original, Dishonored 2 is a very welcome, strong and successful sequel.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm a huge fan of the original game. Have played it over hundred times (Not metaphorically), but I'm a realist and some kind of developer myself so I can't ignore a flaw when I see one.

I will start with a look of course. Graphically game is amazing. I never doubt it would be so. I played game on PS4 and it's very good there. Still some performance issues, but very little. It's surely better than in original game, but it would be strange if it wouldn't be.

Gameplay have also become much more interesting. I wished in first game there was more ways to neutralize enemies without killing and second game did provide. I wished there was more freedom and second provided me with this too. I didn't get much into Emily's abilities tho. Her "blink" when fully upgraded is a great tool for fun. Especially when used with domino. Throw multiple enemies into you - that's fun. I play this game in second time now as Corvo and it feels cooler. Blend time, possession...it never gets old.

But then there's a story. Which is also good, but...is it just as good as original game?
You may think original game's story also was predictable, but dishonored 2 has nothing to predict. It's just like a corridor. You've been thrown off your throne and now you must take it back by eliminating all these people. Done? Congrats. You've completed the game. Really? I thought there would be something... anything! Couldn't they add more personages? Why it's a ship without a crew? Or this captain can do all on his own with one f***ing arm and eye? Wouldn't we like to see there more people with their interests in what we're doing? With their own story and quests?
There was a butler and two maids of sort in the first game.
I think our ship in Dishonored 2 is a poor thing.

I would like to see huge crew and some mutineer in it. Someone who would be on his own mind, too smart to blindly follow orders, he'd betray protagonist and his friends, give up ship to soldiers or Delilah because protagonist doing dark **** If game was at low chaos there would be only soldiers against you on the ship and man from the crew that ain't gave up would be captured, but if high chaos most man would be persuaded by mutineer to go against you and one that don't would be killed. That's cool right? Not a great twist, a bit self repeating, but it's already something.

Also Duke knew Sokolov was on this ship why he haven't inspected it when strange things started to occur and everybody searched for our hero? He can't be that stupid.

And then there's an end. Where Outsider shows you what you've done and it's so...so short and plain? I think outsider lost not the voice only in sequel, but all his magic of speech with it. Listening what you have done in original game was something. It could touch very fabric of your soul or is it what "Honor for All" does?

Game is great anyway. Graphic is wonderful. Gameplay is amazing. Story is good.
It's still a game to spend months playing same levels over and over again. Wait...where's "Missions" from the first game?!!

I would like to give it 10/10, but I just can't.

The graphics I must say are fairly basic and I know this was a feature in DS1 but it seems with so many good looking games out that they really dulled this down, the AI are clueless and within minutes of the game you realise they may spot you lurking on top of a nearby building, but cant hear the grenade you just threw to kill his partner right next to them. There isn't a huge amount of content here and going out of your way to find runes and bonecharms gets old pretty fast. All in all a hugely disappointing game that really sucked the fun out of dishonered 1 and within 5-6 missions Ive freed up memory on my PS4 and deleted it....shame.

Dishonored 2, like the first game, specializes in stealth and the mastery of using your special abilities to transverse the lay of the land and dispose of opponents. As a gamer you can decide on if you’ll take the ‘fight first ask questions later’ approach or ‘avoid conflict and sneak around’ method – each giving you a different challenge to the way the game unfolds.

The original Dishonored was filled with intrigue and wonders to explore and Dishonored 2 continues on that same road. In many ways Dishonored 2 feels more like a continuation of the first game and not so much a sequel as the controls and visuals look and feel the same. This time around you can play as either Corvo (hero from the first game) or Emily Kaldwin – who was a child in the first game and is now all grown up complete with her own unique abilities. The skill tree has been modified to allow gamers to be more precise on how they want to level up their abilities and for those who want a real challenge it is possible to play the entire game without powers giving you both bragging rights and a special Trophy/Achievement.

The original Dishonored game was quite an achievement as it was fun exploring levels and taking out bad guys with either sword, magic or by sneaking up behind them with a choke hold. Dishonored 2 doesn’t add much new as for the visuals or gameplay but there are some new elements to combat like being able to do a charged strike attack which will render enemies helpless long enough for you to put them to sleep and also Emily’s new abilities. Ultimately we would have liked to have seen an improvement to the dialogue scenes and loading times decreased as part of the upgrades but that doesn’t deter Dishonored 2 from being one of the best games released in 2016.

This game has had a less than stellar launch on PC. However, with my GTX 1070 and i7-4790k, I can play on Very High to Ultra settings with minimal issues. Also, for those of you that do have problems, the game likes to set its priority to low after each loading screen, so changing it to normal or above should do the trick until there's a patch. Also, for those of you that do have problems, the game likes to set its priority to low after each loading screen, so changing it to normal or above should do the trick until there's a patch. Now, onto the review.

The first Dishonored is my favorite game of all time. Obviously, I was anxious for the day to come where I could reprise my role as Royal Protector Corvo Attano, or I could possess the role of Empress Emily Kaldwin, who has a slew of new abilities. As of now, I am around 10 hours into my playthrough as Emily and I must say that this is exactly what I expected from this sequel. Of course, there are multiple ways of reaching your target and also multiple ways to take down your target. Each power now has a more in-depth upgrade tree in which you can allow Corvo's Blink to be redirective, as Daud's was in the Knife of Dunwall and the Brigmore Witches, or you can upgrade Emily's Doppleganger ability to create copies of yourself that will fight for you.

A new feature that I was very excited for was Bonecharm Crafting. This works by sacrificing a bone charm's trait so that you will be able to create a single bone charm with multiple traits taken from a sacrificed charm. You can create a single charm with two, three, or four traits, however, corrupted charms have made a reappearance from Daud's DLC. The more traits you add onto a crafted bone charm, the more likely it will be come corrupted and apply a negative attribute along with the traits you applied to it.

I don't know much about graphics, but I can tell you that this game's graphics are outstanding. I will occasionally stop and stare at the scenery, which will sometimes appear as a beautiful painting. The art style has remained the same and it helps with its look that much more.

There are new enemies, such as the Nest Keepers and the Clockwork Soldiers that will help gameplay from feeling repetitive. There are new faces, as well as old ones. There are new powers that can be heavily upgraded (if you can find the resources to do so), and old ones with new attributes to be added onto them. There's an entirely new system for bone charms that can be ignored if you do not care for corrupted charms. There are new places to explore, and there are old, but familiar ones that make this sequel feel that much more like Dishonored.

This game has gotten a lot of criticism for its performance, but looking past this inconvenience, Dishonored 2 is yet another masterpiece created by the masterminds at Arkane Studios. In my opinion, Dishonored 2 is hands-down my Game of the Year and I would recommend this piece of art to each and every one of you.

This game reminds me of playing a stealth game from the mid 2000's on my PS3 like Deus Ex. Sure the areas are kind of big and there are runes hidden throughout which can be annoying to find but I found the combat in this game also really annoying. Block, Strike with a deadly blow or grab to knock out. Personally, I found Deus Ex to be more intriguing than this game.
Graphics are alright, they were going for a different style and I can appreciate that. However, I think they could have been way better if they wanted to make them.
Also, I found this game to have some areas that had strange layouts with enemies, runes, mission objectives, etc.
If you looking for a good first person shooter/ stealth/ RPG game I probably would pick this up when it's on sale but I wouldn't pay full price for it unless you are a die hard fan.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a sequel I give this a solid 6.

Were this the first time I had ever played the series I would give it a 7 or 8.

Compared to D1, its just not that much different. A new character, with pretty much the same magic powers. Same weapons and upgrades for the most part. As in D1 I find that I dont even use the vast majority of the powers, as you really dont need to.

You can either spend 10 minutes on a level, or 2-3 hours depending on how you like to play, which gets a bit boring fast. Sneak, pick up some coins, try to find a rune or bone charm, try not to get discovered. Kill someone/carry someone. Wash, repeat.

If its your first time with this game (not playing D1 at all) then you may enjoy the slight mix of fallout style play with assassins creed. It does have nice graphics and smooth enough play. It does provide multiple options (sneak/non lethal, sneak/lethal, or all out guns/bolts blazing (though difficult).

Basically its the same as D1, though not quite as boring and drab.

Gets old pretty fast, but can be fun to play around with if you just enjoy wreaking havoc and not focusing so much on stealth/non lethal play-style.

I see myself finishing the game, and deleting it moments later.

Hell they'll even get suspicious about a door you left carelessly open.

    A goddamn door!

Even so, it isn't without its issues.

Firstly, I'm on PC and right now the performance is TERRIBLE! The frame rate so bad it easily gets me killed in combat or gets me spotted really easily. The game is shorter than the first (9 missions compared to 10) and while they are largely well crafted, a few more would have greatly helped. The bone charm crafting wasn't as in depth as I had first thought. No crafting of new bone charms, merely combining current traits into one bone charm. The lack of a mission selection screen feels incredibly wrong and the lack of a new game+ is disappointing.

That big block of negativity may have you wonder why I gave this a 9 but really they are all nit picks of mine. The PC issue will be patched soon, the missions are well crafted and saves can easily take the place of mission selectors.

Dishonoured 2 is easily one of the best games to come out this year which is a relief in an industry bloated with greedy money driven companies (I'm looking at you EA). Dishonoured 2 is a welcoming breath of fresh air. Just wait for the patch in PC first.

As a huge fan of the original I awaited this game with bated breath and unlike many long awaited sequels, it has actually lived up to the hype.

It's so great being back in the world of Dishonored. Having two characters with two different skillsets is great. The multiple paths and exploration is still great. Also, I want to call out a specific reviewer on here - SuperkenGaming -

Also, I want to call out a specific reviewer on here - SuperkenGaming - stop reviewing games. Especially games like this because they're not for you. I'm sorry this game doesn't hold your hand and instead makes you have to think and solve problems for yourself, but some people like a challenge. Go back to whatever bland, hand-holding crap you like and leave Dishonored 2 to people who can appreciate it.

My one con on the game is the story, it's not terrible, but it just doesn't deliver. It's a pretty straight-forward revenge story. But I think it's safe to say Arkane was more focused on the gameplay and the world.

Also, apologies to PC players, but the PS4 version is not buggy at all.

If you are a fan of the original game or stealth games in general, then you owe it to yourself to pick up Dishonored 2. This hasn't been talked about much, but it makes it much easier to know if you've ruined a ghost playthrough before the end of a mission. Missions are much longer this time around, and the level design is at times stunning, and always engaging and rewarding. The story is decent, but it's similar to the first one which was the only down side to the game in my eyes. A GOTY contender for sure. Expand

    Straight my GOTY !
Excellent gameplay ! Atmosphere is perfect in this game ! Everything feels perfect !
Only downside is that the storyline, which shined in the original game, is a little bit weak.

This user critic score is useless due to people that can't withhold themselves from giving a 10 or a 1/2 just to drive the score up or down. You have to be a moron to say this game is a 1, no it's not down to taste, even if you didn't like the game, you still have to appreciate the graphical value, the narrative value, and so on, regardless of what your taste is.

That being said, this is a great game, it retained the good things from the first one and added to that. It is pretty easy at times, giving yout the feeling that you're simply overpowered, but it does the job.

Sorry to break your heart, pun intended…
But this game feels more like a cheap DLC than a proper sequel
it even looks like dishonored 1... A 4 year old ps3 game
the game starts out with you conveniently training the now Empress Emily on being an assassin…
It introduces new ideas and mechanics to the dishonored series like sliding and jumping... but you use none of this throughout the campaign…
Emilys Aunt comes to take her place on the throne and its then you choose who you play as, Corvo from Dishonored 1 or the Emperess Emily,
I chose Emily as she introduces a new set of magic to the game…
And you have to save whoever you don’t choose and retake the crown…
Your choice does not change the campaign, but will of course change the story.. So there is incentive to play twice...
Which unfortunately if you want to feel you got your moneys worth youll have to do as my run through with Emily took only about 5 hours and 40 minutes…
Nothing has really changes since dishonored 1, except level design got noticeably worse…
There are 2 levels that are pretty cool puzzles that will definitely test your patience, but these 2 levels are the only 2 of the 9 that live up to this series standards..
The rest all feel uninspired, and therefore I felt no urge to explore them…
And creating such boring worlds to explore is bad for the player and hurts the gameplay because of how inaccessible magic and upgrades are in this game…
If you aren’t willing to try and figure out how to get to a rune behind some annoying locked door.. you’re not going to have fun at all playing this game as upgrades and magic are so expensive and are mistakenly not unlocked with story progress…
I felt the same about the original.. But it’s even worse here due to how inaccessible everything is...
Magic should be given to you as you progress through the story and the level design should be crafted around this magic…
There is an option to do a no magic run here as Emily, but even still… theres potential to turn this into 3 different campaigns centered around each characters magic or lack there of…
Instead theyd rather annoy you by hiding the runes in frustrating spots like they don’t want you to have fun with their game..
    Well congrats Bethesda, you win...
    I didn’t have fun at all…
Upgrades are also only available at shops… and for ridiculous prices that you won’t be able to afford unless again, you spend the time to explore these poorly designed levels with horrible progression indication…
I understand the whole point of dishonored is to place you in a world and let you go..
But there should still be some sort of direction designed into the world…
For example one of the later missions I was stuck in a room forever trying to leave, only to google and find out everyone else had problems with this spot to… there was a button next to the door you were supposed to hit.. The game never tells you to look for a button to proceed, it just gives you a locked door... and it’s a Bethesda game so naturally one would assume, this is a bug... no... Just bad design.
The hand to hand combat here is just as bad as it was in the original, now however there are ways to just knock enemies out instead of killing them in combat which makes a non-lethal run much easier to obtain, but the stealthy approach is still the more satisfying option…
Dishonored 2 is everything we already got…
Sneak around, take people out, get detected and sword fight or gun fight…
Disable electric walls A dash of magic all in a less inspired world… with like 1 and a half hours of awesomeness from 2 levels.
Set your standards low… It’s nowhere near as good as the original.
    I Give Dishonored 2

I enjoyed the first Dishonored with a fresh new take on stealth with Bethesda base gameplay of slashing, looting, exploration, and a total different atmosphere the game gives off. It is a beloved IP that most players agree had a significant draw to the players because of its look. I myself thought the game was well-made and brilliant on its design. It is a beloved IP that most players agree had a significant draw to the players because of its look. I myself thought the game was well-made and brilliant on its design. Now with the game having its sequel, does it fair better than its predecessor or does it fall ill to the consumers taste?

Story - 15 years after the first one, the damsel in the first game, Emily Kaldwin, is now empress to Dunwall. A power struggle comes in to play as the antagonist Delilah steals the throne forcefully. The player in that moment gets to pick between Emily or Corvo. Between the two, as the player plays through the game, both characters give out a total different experience and point of view as they narrate their own thoughts of the events happening in the game. It gives a simple revenge story more depth with Emily understanding the world evolving around her or when Corvo tells his story on how the experiences he's been through.

Graphics - The game retains its unique look and with better texutres and lighting, the game flourishes with atmosphere and oozes style. It's not groundbreaking graphics with the game having a few graphical glitches and mediocre explosions but the use of the motion blur from doing assassinations is in great use. The character models has a unique look to them with each npc to the main character. The animation is also great in the game with each attack the player hits on another enemy gives a very satisfying impact and the use of the powers given by the Outsider feels powers with a reality distortion feel.

Gameplay - Dishonored 2 still retains its heavy based stealth gameplay with even more options to proceed through the levels. The level designs of the game also don't restrict the given use of the mix between powers and movement, giving even more variety to the game. One level especially as the player is given a time manipulation device that lets the player travel in between times in a mansion. And given with new ammo types and moves to subdue the players opponent, the game feels more fleshed out and more responsive.

Dishonored 2 is another well-made game and a worthy successor to the first Dishonored. With a new environment to explore, new characters to see, and a responsive gameplay flow, Dishonored 2 is a buy for fans of the first. For new comers though, I would say wait for a sale or until the game patches in because I am having a terrible experience in loading in my own personal game saves as the game crashes everytime I load a save that I personally made myself unless it's an auto-save.

Smoothing out the jankiness of the original, Dishonored 2 brings you to a rich new world and sets you loose to sneak, maim, and explore to suit your play style. With masterful level design, rich characters, and endless gameplay variety, Dishonored 2 easily earns it's place as one of the best of 2016.

    Simply, a masterpiece.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Dishonoured 2 more than delivers on it's main selling point: more Dishonoured. If you haven't played the original Dishonoured-and please do, as it is another great game-the franchise is orientated around the first-person, stealth-action genre, in which you are given a ridiculous amount of freedom to approach a mission any way you want. In Dishonoured 2, this is even more so as the sprawling urban, steam-punk environments of Dunwall and Karnaca (both offering multiple routes to targets and different ways of accomplishing objectives), the expanded arsenal of lethal and non-lethal weaponry and gadgets, and the insane supernatural powers you character is capable of, all compound to cater to playstyles of all different types. Another new change to the formula, is how Dishonoured 2 gives the option of choosing between two different characters: Corvo Attano (the previous Dishonoured protagonist) and his daughter Empress Emily Kaldwin, with both having their own powers and bearings on the overall plot making the game well worth playing through at least twice. Despite being seemingly flawless, Dishonoured 2's story-although engaging and gripping at times-becomes slightly stale and disjointed in places (sometimes the writing and dialogue feel passable, when it should really be investing the player in the world they are fighting/sneaking through) but it is a real improvement from Dishonoured's average storyline, and does not at all hold back this stellar game in any capacity. Overall, Dishonoured 2 is breath of fresh air in this shooter dominated month and really sates the appetite of anyone hungry for the old days of Thief (not Thief 2014) or those in general who love stealth games (aller MGS or Deus Ex). WELL WORTH PICKING UP!!! Expand
