This game really is a must-play for anyone who loves storytelling or the RPG genre — that is if you're on PC, or if you can wait for subsequent patches for console versions. In spite of everything though, Disco Elysium's twisting, tumbling adventure is one worth waiting for.

Genre remixes often get lost in good intentions, but Disco Elysium pulls it off just fine. The dialogues fit perfectly with the visual style that portrays a world as captivating as it is gloomy. All top notch, but still we'll stick with three stars. Why? Because the console version we tested was plagued by bugs that sometimes even made it impossible to progress further.

An incredible narrative experience that you want to play one and another time. Disco Elysium The Final Cut in console is a great RPG, but it needs a few improvements and fixes the bugs.

One of the most overrated "rps" I've ever had the displeasure of playing. Every interaction is down to a dice roll and changing your clothes magically improves your odds. It's bug ridden and clunky. Basically just click through all dialogue options until the game lets you advance. Just not good, especially as good as the hype would have you believe. Also we're talking game breaking bugs, as in a crucial item going missing upon a reload. Full Review »

PlayingI recently finished Uncharted 4 and really enjoyed its over-the-top and unrealistic action. So much fun. You know what else is fun? Playing an RPG as a cop who really isn't the hero of the game. The heroes are the people you talk to while investigating a murder. And there's a lot of talking. And a lot of reading. And very little action. Just chill for a while. Start by talking about the mundane, continue talking about the case and throw in a bit of existentialism. I don't think this game is trying to be pseudo-intelligent. You're in a run down place talking to what seems like run down people. But if we did that in real life (running around talking to strangers), I think we would find that people would have some real important things to talk about. They may not be as important to us, but it's important to them and they this is their opportunity to give their thoughts some life. They're going to spit out some $10 words once in a while. So let them talk. And really listen. Have fun with it. It's probably the most I've laughed during a game. The cynicism, sarcasm, irony and goofiness of it all makes it a great game when you're tired with the normalcy of many other games. Really enjoyed it! Full Review »

But Disco Elysium does something so few games have done in my near 4 decades of gaming. It feels nostalgic, makes me feel so many tangled emotions & above all will not let me put it down.

I have many games I love, some I have given full 10 out of 10 marks too. But this is a 10+ if there can ever be such a thing. What a absolute tour de force in narrative, expressive gaming perfection! You would be doing yourself a massive injustice & denying yourself one of the best & most intricately bizarre gaming experiences ever if you let it pass you by.

100% recommendation without, I have no doubt at all.
