    Let me start this off by saying I hate Visual Novel games, they're boring, lack game play or anything resembling a game. HOWEVER, Digimon Survive is the stellar example of what visual novel should be, an in-dwpth story that twist and turns constantly, a mix of gameplay and story. BEAUTIFUL, SLAMMIN visuals that could give any anime a run for its money. This game is a stellar and tenseLet me start this off by saying I hate Visual Novel games, they're boring, lack game play or anything resembling a game.     This is my favorite recent Digimon game so far. It is in a visual novel format, and it works so well with the story and world they've designed. You unlock free battle pretty early on so you aren't dependent on story beats to get a battle fix in, and it has a pretty well-done auto battle system for when you want to grind but not be fully alert.

    The theme is very horror-esque, and it    This is my favorite recent Digimon game so far. It is in a visual novel format, and it works so well with the story and world they've designed. You unlock free battle pretty early on so you aren't dependent on story beats to get a battle fix in, and it has a pretty well-done auto battle system for when you want to grind but not be fully alert.

    The theme is very horror-esque, and it really feels like it pays a little homage to one of my favorite tactical rpg series, Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor. If you have ever played an SMT game (but especially the Devil Survivor series), I highly recommend checking this game out. It's slightly more simple than SMT:DS, but it has a charm to it that more than makes up for it.

    Great game. It was correctly advertised as a vn, and i bought it knowing that, because i greatly enjoy them and it's a very well made one.

    Probably the best Digimon story and the best Digimon game, too. Yeah, it's primarily a visual novel, but it's very mechanically deep for one and they were incredibly clear about what it was for years before the game came out. Definitely would recommend it to anyone interested in the series or interested in especially polished visual novels.

    Been waiting for a new Digimon game and the wait was worth waiting for! A different take on the franchise. Its a horror turnbased game. Love the story. It has replayability with different choices your character can take. He can be nice guy, moral leveled headed guy, or douchebag that can have you play through the story more than twice.     Not fully done the game yet, but absolutely loved what I have played. Fantastic visual novel with an amazing story - the tactical strategy part of the game is just icing on the cake.

    Visual novel mixed with tactical RPG elements, lovely anime-like look and strong story. I was not sure what to exactly expect, but I got immediately hooked within second hour of play. So far best surprise of this hot gaming summer.

    El juego en su genero es simplemente perfecto, la historia es espectacular y engancha de principio a fin, es algo nuevo y fresco para la franquicia, es algo que siempre me gustó de Digimon, su apuesta por aventurarse en diferentes géneros y este me encantó la más de 40 horas que le dedique y seguro las horas irán aumentando ya que deseo platinarlo.     I liked the concept of the game from the very first trailer. While I am not a fan of visual novels, Digimon Survive's tactical battles managed to balance the game between story and gameplay. The characters and their interactions, as well as their take on their situation felt far more genuine than any Digimon media so far, which was a breath of fresh air in my opinion.     A lovely visual novel mixed with some turn based combat, really does a great job of setting a mystery to get to the bottom of while giving you a cast of characters you want to embrace / defeat. The music is outstanding, Also the cut scenes look absolutely gorgeous.

    As far as Visual novels go this is such a solid experience and a great game, Bandai Namco was open from the start that this was a visual novel, people are actually review bombing this cause it’s a genre they don’t like, it’s the same thing as giving Mario Kart a 0 because it has too much racing

    This game is a VISUAL NOVEL it literally says that. Many other reviews are ignoring that. Story telling wise, this is digimon at its peak. Seriously one of the best visual novels out there. This is aimed at older audiences or long term fans. The strategy gameplay is great, only cons to this game is that there's no English voice acting and that there's no online.

    This game has a great story and when the battles do come up they're a lot of fun. It's a lot of reading and narrative mostly, but it's all done very well.

The story makes me care for characters. Including ones I initially hated. Your choices make an impact on the story in ways too. Such as the digivolutions. On top of that a good 40% to 50% of the game is solid SRPG goodness with over 113 possible Digimon to get, which is exceptional variety in this genre.     Don't know why people are angry because the game IS what the developers promised to be, it has a great story line, good 2D animations , music and story plot that's heavily inspired by Digimon Adventure 1999 , which is a very positive thing that no other Digimon game managed to capture.     Keep in mind this is a visual novel and something different Digimon has done before. It's such a great story for a VN and a fun battle system. It does start a little slow but once it gets in gear, hold on tight.

    It was a very nice experience.
    The game is more of a visual novel than a tactics game so if that's not your thing then you may want to skip this one, that being said I really enjoyed the story and the characters. I really hope they make more games like this one.

    People complaining theres to much text in a visual novel is just hilarious. Your choice impact the chapter 8-12, so wait before u say "my choices do nothing". So please dont mind the low rating by people that dont know anything and go back    Good game as it is. You will love some characters amd hate others as you try to survive in this crazy and gritty world where Characters can die or be driven insane inside a world that os of a mix of the upside down inDigimon Survive is a Isakai Horror Mystery Visual Novel Fire Emblem monster collection game that is definitely not for young children with choices that lead to a branching story like until Dawn. The story is very deep and well written an pays almage to past Digimon Anime. It's not the type of game you wanna get if your a story skipper there's maybe 5 hours of gameplay if you skip story and dont do any of the extra or monster collection. I find myself trying to hurry thru gameplay sometimetes so i can get back to the story amd see what happens next. In my opinion it's atleast a solid 9.5 but imma give it a 10 to help offset all those 0 that this game doesn't deserve.… Expand

    A fantastically bright and colorful Visual Novel / Tactical RPG which wonderfully invites newcomers into the world of Digimon, introduces its characters and world in a style that warms you to the protagonists and their partner Digimon, the mystery that unfolds pulls you in such a way it encourages you to learn more about the fog and the intentions of the Digimon within it. I particularlyA fantastically bright and colorful Visual Novel / Tactical RPG which wonderfully invites newcomers into the world of Digimon, introduces its characters and world in a style that warms you to the protagonists and their partner Digimon, the mystery that unfolds pulls you in such a way it encourages you to learn more about the fog and the intentions of the Digimon within it. I particularly like that you can convince Digimon to join you through talking to them on their level. Twists and turns aplenty mean the story surprised you by not going where you think it will.

    The music is in this game is absolutely a treat for the ears, so well produced and orchestrated thst it's one of those OST's I might listen to outside of the game. The Chibi arstyle of the characters during battle is beyond charming, that partnered with the fact that the cut scenes are clearly of incredibly high production, like a high end anime and you have one of, if not my favourite game this year.    … Expand

    Although its east to miss the dizzy heights of the Cybersleuth series, it's to be applauded in what has been attempted here and with an easily accessible series, will convert even the most hardened hater of visual novels. With the superb presentation and the relaxed approach, many Digi-destined (which sounds way better than trainers too) will be happy for the series to continue in this style of digi-volution.

    The story in Digimon Survive is an example of why fans of Digimon flock to the series. Fans enjoy the themes of the series presents to fans about the pressures of growing up. While the gameplay in this outing is limited and lacking in complexities when compared to its predecessors. As a visual novel, it more than holds up as a Digimon anime entry and is a great game that any Digimon fan could enjoy.
