DX:MD packs in more Deus Ex, mostly polished, with tons of plot that we don't want to spoil, a bazillion side quests and optional plot to sink your teeth into, a likable story, missions so good that I have described them to friends as "boss levels," and a free side game with a tolerable microtransaction system. I'm still shocked. August is usually the triple-A dumping ground of the game-industry calendar, but August hasn't seen a game this good in years.

It might be a little overwhelming for series newcomers, but to these people I say: have patience, from what I've seen so far, it'll more than likely be worth it.

TheThat crook Sean Murray should take notes, THIS is how you create and market a game. Everything that was advertised is here and then some! The action sequences are phenomenal and the combat feels perfect whether you're playing the game stealth or going in guns blazing. It's been a terrible last six months for game and Deus Ex has broken the drought! Full Review »

The stealth approach less rewarding, probably in effort to try and push players into the arms of Jensen's new augmentations. One of the more impressive aspects of this run out is the choices you're making without fully realising there were alternatives. I find myself looking back, ten hours in, with '20/20' vision and reflecting on the exact moment I made Jensen's life go to s***. So yes; it's a more adventurous game with a lot to explore and yet somehow manages to feel less than the sum of it's parts. Still a very smart game, and now you finally have more than one/two ways of getting rid of your big bad guys. Full Review »

It's still clunky, which was okay 5 years ago, but they could have done something with it in that time. The story is good and visuals are great but the AI and combat system needed an upgrade. I should not be able to knock out 5 people patrolling, leave the bodies visible (right next to where I am hiding) and not get caught. But, on the flip side, you make one mistake and the entire floor is on you and immediately knows where you are, even if you got rid of the closest guard before he called out or shot at you.
