Very poor, same old content, same loading screens, full price. Load of tosh. Grind, Grind, Grind lets see how much money we can make. You even have to pay real money to make your character do a different dance. Destiny has a 10 year plan to rinse as much money as they can out of you.

With that said the amount of issues I've had with Bungie over this month has gotten ridiculous. There have been outages three out of the last four weeks. With several outages happening during each week. I understand that updates are needed but there should be no need for this considering how much money they have put into this game and how much we have paid as gamers.

On top of the many updates and outages. The fact that one can't play offline is a terrible feature that should be changed. Also Bungie will kick you out of the middle of a game no matter where you're at without warning. Unless you subscribe to their twitter feed...

Overall with Destiny being an overall good game I would have given an 8. But since I can't play the game I paid money for because Bungie can't get their act together drops my overall score to a 3. Added points if the capability of playing offline is added. I'll give it another week or two and if things don't get better then I'm going to burn this game and never come back.

A bad expansion to a bad game. There are few area that Destiny Taken King don't disappoint. Gunplay is great but the rest of the game is a boring grind. The only real new area to the game get boring after a couple hours of play. The raid is fun the first time but becomes a complete grind if you want to get to 320. Bungie should really be ashamed of how poorly the expansion was implemented.

And the dumbest fan base ever, the sheep they have hooked will defend the game even when the original creators left and disavowed the company. So sad. Never buy another bungledvision product.

The games main problem is that it wasn't working correctly in the first place and was unfinished upon release, the DLC should have been free. I played it first-hand and it isn't anything to revel over in anyway. It is just like the vanilla game, but with "better" weapons and armor. Main issues are rooted towards specific features of the original game from the multiplayer are locked, so that you are forced to pay for the DLC. This game reminded me a lot of Star Wars Infinity and Star Wars Battlefront EA. You might have more fun if you buy the DLC's and even then you'll will feel like you are forcing your hand to find fun in a creatively devout game. Desperate for play time, desperate for money, and even desperate for new players. Micro transactions, racing (in an fps?), and the worst loot system I have ever been cursed to be a part of.
There is a pitiful amount of new story missions, maybe 6-8. There are 3 new strikes, and 1 raid. The strikes are good, the raid is fun. But there's not enough to justify $40. Especially because of the following problems.
The micro-transactions are non-essential, however, they push them sometimes to be essential to keep track of racing times and records. The racing? I'm going to be honest, it's fun. But it's a last ditch effort to save their game until the next wave of "content."
When they claimed to fix the loot system at the start of The Taken King, back in September, it was broken even more, How can you break something even more than it already is? They put broken RNG inside the already broken RNG! If you so happen to get the loot you want to drop (RNG #1), you then have to look at what level that gear is (RNG #2)! That is broken. You might get those boots you wanted, but oh! They're only level 304, and you needed at least level 306. These things ruin the game for me. I am aware that it is a grindy game. You have to grind to level your character. But when you can go weeks without getting anything to drop, and then have it finally drop for you, and not be high enough level, it pisses you off to no end.
The gun system is the worst I've ever seen. There are 3-5 archetypes for all of the guns, ranging from low impact high rate of fire, to high impact low rate of fire. There is NO DIVERSITY. Not to mention some exotics are dominating factors in PvP before getting heavily nerfed, and a new exotic taking its place.
Bungie has ruined an amazing opportunity to make Destiny a great game. They did this, mostly by breaking the loot system. It really is disappointing. I had more faith in them, but it was all for naught. They have left me leaving the game for good, and never looking back. I would not recommend sticking it out with Bungie. Even when you think it can't get any worse, it manages to do so. I give it a 2/10, by the skin of its teeth.

New content is always interesting, however this hardly has any content.

There still is a lack of story, it's the same "Go here, kill these baddies, return to sell/decrypt your junk." As for "Story Missions," I paced through them within two hours. Weapons and Gear is still the same as light, just different. Instead of hunting for "light," you just hunt for a higher defense and attack.

I've payed much less for much better games that are actually completed. I'm pissed at how much money they're making of it.

Work to get rewards is the theme here - no fun allowed. The content is much smaller than it appears at first, and the vast majority of the so-called quests involve repetition of old content. Bungie seems to have a philosophy based on their players not being "good enough" or deserving of rewards. It's no surprise that many players dropped off and joined more rewarding and fun games. Instead of adding new areas to explore or monsters to try your combat skills on, the additional content has thus far consisted of a pointless Halloween grind, a refer-a-friend scheme, and raid challenge modes that micromanage your gameplay in exchange for character upgrades. As for the player community, it is shrinking and becoming insular. Like a big clique, this game is hardly inviting to most players. Exclusion and elitism has been a strong theme in Harold Ryan's and Luke Smith's designs. Other than having great basic gameplay with easy and smooth aiming, agile jumping, and elegant special abilities, this game offers nothing but a laundry list of chores for players if they want to progress. These chores are so menial that Taken King will have you craving the depth and interaction of a simple fetch & return quest in games like Fallout, ESO, and Final Fantasy. The player vs player is run amok with lag switching and/or terrible lag and net code. Matches take a long time to find and player count seems thinner than Modern Warfare 2. Once again, there is also no group finding tools or matchmaking for most of the important activities in the game. This is because quite simply, Luke Smith and the most hardcore fans of the game believe we aren't good enough to actually succeed at the content and that we would potentially ruin their play experience. That adds an absurd layer of extra work that players must do just to even try content. There's many cool weapons to acquire in the game, and it's great to get weekly orders from the gunsmith (although the ranking method is even more inane than bounties with the repetitive test weapon chores) but players will find very little storage space or opportunity to substantially upgrade the attack values of these weapons. Bungie seems to only be in touch with a dwindling and insular community of twitch streamers and their followers. Basically, this game is anything but fun, and Bungie's attitude and development team needs to go for any hopes of improvement. Expand

I paid for destiny including season pass costing me around 120 bucks so how am I locked out from something I paid for if I don't want to buy the new expansion Taken king? Isn't that illegal I paid for the game to play never was I told that I would have to buy every new expansion or DLC if I wanted to continue to play a game I paid for how are they even allowed to do this? There must be some consumer policy and rights being broken here and I hope activision gets theirs as this is robbery and fraud no doubt about it. They are basically forcing players to have to buy this DLC or expansion in Order to keep playing a game that they already more then paid for enough this is crazy. I should be able to play all of the original content along with other players who don't buy the Taken King expansion that's how it's always been no matter normal game or MMO which destiny isn't by the way as activision has stated many times in interviews that Destiny is not an MMO it just borrows some designs and elements from MMOs but that doesn't make one and either way even if it was even in MMOs this doesn't happen. It's simple you don't buy new expansion then you can only play what you have payed for but with destiny they literally lock u out of content you already paid for in turn ripping the consumer off. Only an idiot would support this kind of tactic and this game if you like getting ripped off then by all means donate to Activision they will gladly take it but if you smarter then most sheep then don't by taken King as it's overpriced to start anyways and while you finally get a lot of what should have already been included in destiny you are basically paying twice and for what's really a 20 dollar expansion at most as while it adds a much needed actual story with cutscenes to game it's only a few hours worth and surely not the amount you should get with a full game which is what they charging you for btw nevermind how much is actually recycled from original game that you are your paying for at a premium price that a full game would cost. Activision is setting a bad precedent for gaming and it's models with these shady business tactics so don't be a fool by supporting them.

For the first time, Destiny feels like it’s complete. It’s not perfect, far from it in fact, and I still can’t entirely disagree when they speak of the package itself as bad. But I’ve also been unable to put it down for the past month I’ve played it.
