Not a bad DLC but not a good one either. No new maps just a few "new" areas that look exactly the same. Same enemies. The Reef is too small with nothing to do it's half the size of the Tower. Xur is selling the same crap nothing new from him and I was hoping they'd make him useful again. Still no story I have no idea what's going on other then "He's the guy that betrayed us, get him." The new strike is okay but way too easy. PoE is okay but would've been nice to add some variation to it something along the lines of Bloodborne Chalice Dungeons. Not liking the new weapons and armor so far, my previous Raid weapons and armor are better then the HoW gear. Basically everything is the same. Areas, enemies, missions, gear nothing new was added other then how the game works and functions which is a lot better now than it ever was since launch. Looking forward to Trials of Osiris but this is just my opinion on the game. Some tweaks here and there but nothing new, nothing exciting. Feels like a missed and wasted opportunity. Expand

Still a severe lack of story and just a push for grinding further and further up the grinding ladder. I am completely addicted to this game as I am a grind sadist. This game could be great, but like everyone is saying even after spam adding everyone you can as you go along, it's still a very lonely ride most of the time.

I wish better weapons would drop more frequently and they'd add

I wish better weapons would drop more frequently and they'd add some more patrol missions. Anyone above level 25 has done the same patrol mission 1000,000 times by now and it only requires some simple coding to add some more variance to the patrols. It'd also be nice to see some new enemies as seriously we have seen the same looking enemies over and over again by now..

An expansion that is better than The Dark Below, but still falls short of earning your $20. House of Wolves isn't as superficial as most of the rest of Destiny, with characters doing a better job of explaining what's happening. My real annoyance is the lack of the Queen's involvement in this expansion that is directly involved with her. She was the most interesting character of the core Destiny experience, and she's mostly MIA here. This expansion is good enough to keep you busy for a while, but a $10 purchase would seem more fair. With a major update en route this fall, it's do-or-die time for Bungie. If the studio can't deliver, this game will likely fade into the background - a real problem since Activision intended it to be a 10-year experience. Expand

    Story:
A minor improvement over the "original" story due to a more cohesive narrative, and over The Dark Below due to more missions. However, no cuts scenes and new characters are linear with no plot or character development. It's very shallow, as has become the expectation.

    Gameplay:
The shooting mechanics remain the game's strongest feature. They are unchanged.
Level design also follows the same formula, recycling levels you've trudged through hundreds of times by now and opening up a few more areas (one area you've been to once before. 3 if you've started two other characters). Overall, new realestate is minimal.
The new upgrade system is a mixed bag. You no longer need upgrade material unless you want to work up an old piece of armor. You just use etheric light to give any legendary item that final bump to 34 lvl. But you still have to jump through hoops to get the light, which is fine, if not for the next item.
Prison of Elders most definitely does not replace raids. All of Destiny follows the following formula: Send player to room, lock player in room and throw enemies at him or her. Perhaps with added mundane objectives thrown in to keep the players from holing up in a door way (a common sense tactic when they leave such little wiggle room) PoE will get repetitive quickly, so if you got tired of grinding raids, you'll get tired of this fast. And getting access to the treasures after also requires grinding after a key. So in the end, you do just as much grinding as you did before (not a bad thing), except it's with weapons and perks that are about the same (but at least you can reforge them), realestate that's about the same, story telling that's about the same. Gameplay formulas that are about the same. Oh, and, of course, we can't forget to mention bugs. Enemy attacks can go sometimes go through cover and titian shields from time to time. Random teleports in PoE.

Yep. This game is pretty much more of the same in all ways, good and bad. PoE is probably the biggest disappointment though. It does not replace raids, and, because you you need etheric light to get max lvl, PoE makes the raid almost completely obsolete unless you're going for specific loot.

This game is for you if you are going to dedicate your life to this game, you are going to spend at least on weekends six or seven hour playing in a guild and three or four daily, you will have repetitive missions but your experience will be good enough. I have played in that way during months with a we can say low notable experience but what is not understandable is that Destiny is a very poor game for a single player, a typical player that can play one hour everyday, that doesn`t play every day, unfortunately Bungie pay no attention at all to this type of gamer and in a console is a common gamer. A good player in CoD, RE, etc in this game can't have access to the best weapons, armor and even in this last DLC to raise to the level of the other players, there aren't mechanism of matchmaking for the good loot and the funny area of the game.

The game mechanism is the best thing in the game, very funny even when you are playing always the same mission. The graphs are ok, not something awesome but ok, they use some tricks like mandatory use of helmets and others in order to facilitate the visual part.

The music is great and change with the game in a good way, the sound of the weapons are also great.

Related the multiplayer I have enjoyed this part, but there is not a feeling of weapon weight and impact due the enemy shields but is enjoyable and balanced enough to lost and win properly to your skills.

In summary if you have time I recommend you other games if you are a father or you have a job, forget about this game.

For me this is a perfect DLC, its full of new great content and its just what Destiny needs.
The story of House of Wolves is perfect, new cool stories, enemies and the new locations are greatly designed with loads of interesting obstacles and mechanics. The new strike is poorly made, linear with not much cover and a boss that teleports away seconds before you fired that deadly gjallarhorn

The Prison Of Elders is great, objectives that adds and extra challenge, bosses that can turn the floor on fire, different perks and with a wonderful treasure room to top it off.
The Trials of Osiris is just a great PVP experience. Its challenging and difficult and it requires team-play and tactics. To top the PVP experience is the new Crucible maps that are gorgeous and greatly designed, and my personal favourite is Widows Court.
Hundred new weapons, gear, emblems etc that looks great and with the new ascending, reforging and new perks just add a great extra reason to why you spend an extra hour for grinding every week!

For me a great expansion. New maps, story missions, activities, gear, characters etc!

HoW introduces some kind of cool stuff, but overall it's just more of the same. I love Destiny because I guess I love grinding stuff. 7/10 because the expansion doesn't introduce anything really new. Just $20 of the same mobs, slightly different looking gear, blah blah.

Destiny: House of Wolves is an improvement to The Dark Below, but that isn't much of a compliment.
With a story lasting 2-3 hours, House of Wolves feels more like something to keep Destiny players briefly entertained, while more significant content is being created.

This expansion is an improvement from The Dark Below DLC. However, it lacks a raid, a satisfying story, and endgame. The new weapons added feel worthless besides the highly powerful new shotguns. Prison of Elders also has a major reward system flaw. The rewards are worthless and require too much time to receive them. Especially the 35 arena, Skolas isn't fun and the entire run takes ages. This game deserves a 5/10 because of its mediocre story, end game and weapons. Expand

I'm not a PvE player, I mostly spend all my time in Crucible, but they lied to us: No Raid.

On the other hand, we now have the Prison of Elders and Osiris Trials, other than that... story quest can be completed in an hour, really short... a couple of new Crucible maps and... nothing else. All that for 20€, this starts to be anoying for vetaran players. The only reason why I scroed it

Now you may be wondering why I didn’t count Expansions 1 and 2 for Destiny and that is because it is just a Destiny update with more new weapons.

A solid DLC that manages to inject new fun into the daily grind of Destiny. It’s noteworthy that the new strike mission feels like a lost level of Halo. [June 2015]
