I don't know how they did it but Bungie managed to make an expansion that's EVEN SHORTER and MORE nonsensical than the previous one, Curse of Osiris. After a meager 3.5 hours of play, I had finished the entire main story, all the adventures, lost sectors, and post-story Ana missions. I had looted all the sector chests, unlocked five of the frequency loot crates, and finished the first two stages of the end-game hand cannon quest I got. Even managed to complete an Escalation Protocol event even though the 6 of us who ran into the event were underleveled and supposedly undergeared for it. Barely killed the hive bosses by the skin of our teeth but if we're able to do it now, just think how easy it's going to be when we're power level 370+.

As has been reported by Datto and others, the progression is slowed with this DLC with 340/345 (modded) as an initial soft cap at which point weekly milestones and end game activities are the only way to progress. I reached that 345 cap before even reaching the new max level cap of 30. All in under 3.5 hours. All that's left is grinding the same tired mechanics for weapon collections. The aforementioned hand cannon quest, for example: Kill Hive, Kill Cabal with the weapon, then kill yellow bar bosses with the weapon... we've done this multiple times before. Yawn.

As for the story... In the second mission, you're told a new big evil is awoken. In the fourth mission, you're told that said big evil is so big and evil that it almost defeated the Warmind itself in the past. One mission later, you defeat the big evil with a spear. Well ok then. Anyone wanting a decent amount of lore, just keep walking. This expansion is just as ridiculously nonsensical as the rest of the game.

this expansion is absolutely a bad joke. it started awesome then you realize that after 4 missions you've finished it. i mean really bungie, are you that lazy? 4 missions? even the new exotics are recycled from d1. this so disappointing and i feel bad because i had a lot of hopes for this game. loved the first one, but this time bungie really screwed it.

It just blows my mind a studio like bungie with over 1000 people is turning out so little content and did not learn anything from curse of osiris. all the same problems exist (some worst), this should have been free, theirs no passion, contents still dull, still feels like a cash grab... not worthy of the "expansion". almost everything im saying is mirrored with curse of osiris. They should also be fixing destiny 2 before working on destiny 3. As i said before, games struggling and is in need of a massive overhaul and potentially new team. simaler to how final fantasy 14 1.0 became 2.0. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xs0yQKI7Yw4
highly unlikely though since activision and bungie are just riding out their reputation and milking their fans of what they have left. sad to see what bungie has become

"Haters gonna hate", they said, and probably it's true. But about this specific case, only fanboys with absolute no sense of criticism and happy to throw away their money for bad low quality contents can appreciate or say something positive about this DLC. Warmind is not a step forward, is just another half step turning on the same spot sold as a path to the Light. Unfortunatly, there are"Haters gonna hate", they said, and probably it's true. But about this specific case, only fanboys with absolute no sense of criticism and happy to throw away their money for bad low quality contents can appreciate or say something positive about this DLC. Warmind is not a step forward, is just another half step turning on the same spot sold as a path to the Light. Unfortunatly, there are a lot of people that really believe in this, and that's what is killing this franchise.

The Story Campain is short (only 4-5 Missions which one is used as a Strike 'cos Bungie is lazy), horribly narrated (seriously, it's awful) and lack of both originality and personality. Pretty said since in 4-5 Missions we see characters of the Lore and Deep Lore of Destiny like Ana Brey, Rasputin, Xol and Nokris, not exactly some random guys found behind a corner. Bungie's Narrative Team accomplished to create something even worse then the Curse of Osiris. After killed the misterious figure of Brother Vance and the Legendary Warlock Osiris, they killed the last, but actually not last Warmind (Charle Magne, anyone?), Ana Brey and even a Worm God, Xol, and the bnanished son of Oryx, Nokris. Congrats.

DLC's contents are weak. The Progression System is been slowed down, which is good actually, but the way they did this is simply stupid and makes almost all activies boring and frustrating. Strikes are now more difficult, true, but just because enemies have became bullet sponges whic is not fun, 'cos forces the players to shot even more the half of a ammo-magazine against one single basic mob. Again, Strike's Loot is a joke with nothing worththe time spent to accomplish it.

The new End Game Activity it's nothing but a Public Event capped since the beginning at maximum difficulty that requires more then nine players to accomplish it. Problem is the fact that you can't call nine people in your team, so you must wait and hope to find enough people to do it.

The new Raid Lair offers nothing good but what remains of the original raid loot pool that is been divided among three Raids. Again, Bungie is lazy.

And Eververse, of course, still that damn Eververse with Microtransactions.

Last but not least, there are actualy some good improvements like the new vanguard Loot System, Crucible seems more enjoyble now and Shaxxx offers good loot too, and other stuff. Cons: all this stuff arrived too late. Bungie is too slow to make pathces and fixes, and that's what is killing this game more then everything,

Another big disappointment from Bungie and the last stab to the destiny series, on the other side the graphic and music are still stunning but with the max 5 hours of new content for I belive 20dollars when sold separately, that's just so ridiculous. It's even f*cking shorter than COS.

The grind to complete all the side quests are at least more engaging and nowhere near as tedious this time around. Everything else though, you won't be surprised when you discover your disappointment.

Once again, Bungie gave poorly executed expansions for their 1st year content. Why do they always wait until year 2 to start releasing DLC that's actually worthwhile? - Taken King, Rise of Iron?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. THE GOOD:
Exotic weapons feel special again with the 1.2 patch.

There are more things to chase for in the end game, like:
    - Getting max light-level is much more difficult (385)
    - Collecting data and nodes on Mars to unlock curtain loot
    - Ranked PVP in Valor and Glory

The new Raid Lair "Spire of Stars" is fun and challenging to do, which will ensure that players need to spend more time to master this raid.

    THE BAD:
The campaign takes 1,5 hour to finish and It contains 5 missions with 2 of those are strikes. The story line introduce 3 legendary characters that just gets thrown in your face with no build up to who they are and where they came from (Ana, Nokris, Xol).

There is a new game mode called Escalation Protocol which you can do with 9 guardians. However, Bungie has not taken any effort to allow players to get a team of 6-9 guardians together in a fireteam to play this new mode. Instead, you can make only up to 3 members and hope the other 6 join you in the public space on Mars.

The new weapons are from Destiny 1 that Bungie is reselling or re-skins from the base Destiny 2.

PVP Matchmaking is still not fixed (solo players vs. clan groups)

    THE VERDICT:
If you own the expansion (most of you), it is worth checking out this DLC and you might like the grind for a few weeks. However, do not expect any major improvements from where we were 7 months ago.

If you do not own the DLC, it is not worth your time and money to jump in again.

    FINAL SCORE: 3
This is just because there is finally a certain level of grind in the end game

Destiny 2 is soul-less empty void. I've tried so hard to find a shred of enjoyment with this game and it's expansions but there simply nothing there. Even if Warmind had a sufficient amount of content (which it most certainly doesn't) it wouldn't change how much of an unbelievable bore this expansion is. Don't give this expansion a second thought

2 reused story missions claiming to be strikes, and one ps4 exclusive new strike. Same mindless cover shooting. Story is meaningless and vapid, just as the "expansion" before it and the base game. Progression is still artificial and softcapped. Wouldn't be worth your time even if it had been free.

There is the raid lair and the new strikes are the more interesting story missions.
The enemies are the same old hive just a bit of a change and cabal that are the same as before. The new Mars patrol area is small, for comparison it does not feel much larger than Titan with 2 landing zones and a bit extra to the side. The only positive here is the user initiated Escalation protocol.
PvP still feels like [insert whatever bad adjective you prefer].
Another positive is the changes to the Exotic weapons the do feel exotic but I am guessing it will not make much difference. The replay value of the new content is still very low (as the base game) and considering the end game is just that what is the point of doing the same thing you have been doing for the past 4 years. The story is very poorly told with some bad writing and the lack of new enemies is very annoying.
The main thing you will get with this DLC is more grinding to reach 385 light level which has been slowed to a crawl with more obstacles just for the sake of having obstacles. What used to give progress has been nerfed to the point of not worth doing eg. 0-2 point increase on 2 peaces that means at worst no progress or at best about 0.5% per weak, assuming you do not get a duplicate. Thanks but no thanks, that is like a death by a thousand cuts.

If you skip this DLC you will not miss much. If you skip playing Destiny 2 for the next 4 months you will not miss much since most of the content can be done under 10 hours.

Lesson learned: Never per-order based on past experience since the past does not predict the future. I thought Bungie would keep what they learned in Destiny 1 instead they have gotten worse and lazier.

Yet another disappointment from Bungie. Nothing new or exciting about this shameless cashgrab dlc. I guess to say anything good about it is that it's pretty and has good music, but that's it. Avoid at all costs, it's not worth five dollars, let alone twenty. Bungie doesn't care about their games anymore, just about how much money they can squeeze out of people.

Unlike Osiris, which was completely missable, I would recommend playing Warmind if you got it. Go ahead and jump in and give it a try. There is good fun to be had with the new exotics and masterworks, a grind to keep you busy a few hours per week. The game is better and this is the first real sign that the Year 2 expansion might finally turn the corner and make Destiny 2 something like the game Destiny 1 left off with.
