Decay of Logos offers an interesting idea, mixing some elements from the Souls series and even Breath of the Wild. There are some issues, mostly because of its humble budget, but we’ve enjoyed it, and we think players looking for a challenge will enjoy it too.

When the most critical bugs are eventually squashed (developers have promised a steady stream of patches) and the penalty for dying hopefully toned down a bit (or conversely, more resting points added to the world), Decay of Logos will rise up to its full promise. As it stands now, you have to answer the following questions. Do you want your game challenging? Do you want a game that doesn’t guide you by hand but trusts your own initiative? Do you want a brave elf heroine with floppy ears? If you answered “yes!” three times, Decay of Logos is absolutely for you, a high fantasy adventure that is as high on its stakes as on the reward you get from conquering its unlikely circumstances.

Decay of Logos is a game that’s an absolute joy to get lost in. It’s not going to hold your hand, and it expects you to indulge your curiosity by exploring hidden pathways and seeking out the land's dark secrets. While the combat can be quite tough, it feels much more accessible than games like the Souls series - it won’t take too long before you’re ducking and dodging like a pro.

This game is simply not very good. I have played worse for sure, but the mistakes made here are purely by design. Players should get the benefit of the doubt on making jumps, or maybe don’t have most jumps lead to instant death. Enemies should be fun to fight, not unwanted encounters that can kill you or at least break all your armor. Inventory this limited in an RPG is absurd. Don’t let the somewhat interesting, Breath of the Wild art style fool either, because the game isn’t all that pretty in gameplay; it comes off lifeless and bland.

Decay of Logos is an ambitious title which tries to bring together the best of The Legend of Zelda and Souls series, but it fails because of too many glitches. Popping, missing collisions during some combats and the elk’s chaotic AI make impossible visiting Ada’s world as intended by Amplify Creations. Waiting for future updates is mandatory.

Decay of Logos is an adventure that tests your patience more than your gaming skills.

Decay of Logos has an interesting story of a quest for revenge with some interesting supporting characters but is massively let down with the various amount of bugs that hampers progress and can cause major amounts of frustration.

There’s still plenty of room for Decay of Logos to mature into a quality experience. However, it’s hard to shake the feeling that with these many issues, it had no business being released at this point in time. Through diligent work and keeping a keen ear to the community, these missteps can be overcome. But really, the paying audience shouldn’t have to be your QA team. Unless you are fond of the “early access” style of unpolished releases, you should absolutely steer clear of this cataclysmic clusterf.ck.

Decay of Logos is a bad, broken game, and no amount of patches is going to fix it any time soon. You’re much better off spending your time and money someplace else — like, say, setting your cash on fire, and then staring at a wall. That would certainly be more fun than what’s in store for you here.

Decay Of Logos is the worst game I have ever played. It is filled with poor design decisions and mechanics that don't challenge the player and instead decide to punish them for no reason at all. The game actively tries to make your experience worse. The list of issues with Decay of Logos is long: a bad and jarring camera, no meaningful connection to the world or characters, framerate issues, pointless mechanics. I could go on. Just save yourself twenty dollars and don't buy this game.

The game is inspired by some of the best titles in the arpg genre. As of right now (on PS4) the game has some performance issues that can prove frustrating. I am, however, confident these performance issues will be corrected soon enough. For $20 there is no better choice than Decay of Logos currently. It is a great option for people who
want something reminiscent of Breath of the Wild but don't own a Nintendo. It can scratch that souls-like itch for you. Once the performance issues are ironed out this is a 10/10 for me.

The learning curve might be a bit steep but when you finally manage to get some upgrades and understand how the mechanics work, it opens up. It isn't entirely like Demon/Dark Souls movement-wise. The character has more weight and inertia and you have to account for that. But, like DS, the fast pulse of not knowing what's around the corner, that's what makes it amazing!
I find the graphics beautiful but not entirely reminiscent of Zelda's cel-shaded look. It's more of a Fortnite or WoW's cartoonish look, which is not a bad thing and works great in this high fantasy environment. A warm palette and many contrasts of lighted vs dark areas. The ambient sound is also brilliant. Wind, birds, rustling of the leaves or creepy stuff when you're underground. Lovely with a surround sound setup. The music is sparse, well composed and a cue for the intense scenes. Some pro journo's reviews mention bugs and chaos. Nonsense. I've had one instance where the character got stuck on a dead enemy, but turning the menu on and off solved it.
