    This game ain't for everyone.
    To be honest is not for me either cause of not haven't so much action.
    BUT I love that we finally get a game that is different in the core itself.
    I love the story. I love the atmosphere of the whole game and the concept itself.
    It is a controversial game but I love to see something different than run and shoot.

    I Need to say that this game is different is probably making a new gender in videogames so many people will not understand it but this game is a masterpiece you feel that you are in the game and not many games give you that feeling is a Beautiful game and is sad to see that people just see it as a walking game but is more than that but i believe this game is done only for chosen people.

    I knew I would love Death Stranding because I'm the kind of gamer that loves exploring open world games, shunning the main story line (Far Cry). I love the micro-management required to develop my charater's abilities (God of War) and the kind of polish that is reserved for only the very best (GT Sport).

    Games are an art form, and Death Stranding excels at delivering something new and hypnotic.     The game isn't for 15y old Fortnite players.
    The game is a masterpiece, every delivery has a connection, a story and a consequence.

    I may have rated it a little bit lower but I just had to compensate for some who obviously haven't played the game and just got mad at the hype and before-release gameplay footage.
    I have never played MGS, I couldn't care less about the creator, this has nothing to do with "fanboying" : got thrilled with the E3 trailers, now I'm 50 hours in and I absolutely love it. The game is amazing.    I may have rated it a little bit lower but I just had to compensate for some who obviously haven't played the game and just got mad at the hype and before-release gameplay footage.
    I have never played MGS, I couldn't care less about the creator, this has nothing to do with "fanboying" : got thrilled with the E3 trailers, now I'm 50 hours in and I absolutely love it. The game is amazing. Of course, it is not an action / shooting rpg game, you won't expect to grab a gun and take down 30 ennemies all by yourself (though you can do that but you'll likely lose, and there are some action chapters in a setting that hit right in the gut. You don't kill mindlessly as in most game nowadays, the game is made so that you feel how it is to take or save one's life and most guns are non-lethal).

    Some +/- points:

    + The story is intriguing and the characters are charismatic yet flawed. It takes time to understand all of it but it gradually makes more and more sense. Some of it is artistically absurd, so if you usually enjoy this kind of things in literature or cinema, you'll be pleased.

    + The gameplay is actually pretty diverse, this is not a "walking simulator". Sure you walk, as in any other game really, but you have to take account of many factors, and there are dynamics that takes from horror games, stealth games, action games, management games and so on. The difficulty is well balanced as well.

    + The social system is innovative, feels great, and is well thought. It could have been so much worse : at first, I feared that other people's constructions would ruin the feeling of the game, the loneliness that you are supposed to feel. In fact, when you first get in a zone and didn't connect it yet, there are no sign of other player, the world is almost vanilla and it feels hard to get anywhere. Then you connect it and suddenly everything is less lonely, easier. It uses servers I believe, so there's not too much of it either, and it deteriorates with time. And it is so positive. You get to enjoy positively other people presence yet no one can disturb your journey. If you don't like to socialize with people but don't like feeling lonely for too long, you are gonna LOVE it.

    + The graphics are amazing, the landscape feel so natural but I never, not even once, felt it was "all the same". They did a really good job. You can feel there's a mood, an ambiance, especially when it starts raining or snowing or whatever. You feel loneliness, tension, relief. That game truly makes you feel things.

    + The sound design and musics are 10/10. I wish music could come more often, sadly it only follows the story, and basic deliveries will most likely be in complete silence, with the sounds of nature, wind, the river flowing. You can put music in some safe places though, which makes them feel even more "safe".

    - If you don't have a lot of time to play, this might just not be the game for you. It is slow paced, which is fine, this is the best way to play it - but it might get frustrating if you can play only one hour at a time. But if you have time, then it will be worth every minute of it, if you like slow-paced non-action game as I do.

    - I've heard a lot of complaining about the menu management, how there are way to much info on screen, written in small caps. It takes a bit of effort to understand but I managed pretty easily. Maybe, choose a day where you don't feel tired to get started, and take your time, you'll do just fine.

    - Vehicules are... well, not very realistic. I mean, it's not awful to use, i actually enjoy it on roads, but it feels like horses from Skyrim, either that or rocks along the way will just makes them almost useless. Going on foot is slower and you can't get as much cargos, but it feels so much better to play.

    - The "action" part of the game is not that great. It is not the center of the gameplay however, and you better avoid confrontation anywa if you want to be effective. But if you are used to FPS, you might grit your teeth a few times.

    Also I haven't got any bugs whatsoever, and I started day one.

    This will not be a game for every one. It's okay, to each game their own appreciation. I just wish the gratuitous haters wouldn't be so noisy, it mights get people who would love it to just disregard the whole game and lose a new experience that truly feels great, and not at all like a "second job".    … Expand

This has been one of the most refreshing, immersive, and exciting video game experiences I've had in a long time. The story is stellar, the visuals, the music, the game play, are all top notch. If I had to critique anything it would be that the motorcycle is finicky to control, and the menu's can be a little convoluted and confusing at times. People are clearly going brain dead with shooters, apparently not having bullets flying at you non-stop is boring now-a-days. I honestly was scared to buy the game after reading so many bad reviews - but after playing, it became clear to me that the bad reviewers either didn't play the game more than two hours, or they simply have bad taste in video games. It's a shame so many people will end up passing on the game due to the bad ratings. This game will go down in history as a classic, one of the truly great video game experiences that I'm glad I didn't miss out on.… Expand

    Лучшая игра в этом унылом для игровой индустрии 2019 году. Арт-проект. Не понимаю почему у игроков так бомбит с того что в игре абсолютно мало насилия и много сюжета и драмы. Мне понравилась.

    Думал покупать или нет, видел ужасные отзывы, купил и понял это игра точно для меня !!! Играл в RDR2 хорошая игра особенно нравилась ходьба и графика и от этого отталкивался и купил. Сюжет 10/10

If you don't like story driven games, then I do not recommend this.     Phenomenal game, I'm only 6 hours in but the time has flown by. There is a lot of walking but when a game is as stunning as this, you really don't mind and the story so far is excellent.

It's sad to see so many people who just want to mash buttons at enemies and get lootboxes...     The most kojima game yet. Such a relaxing awe inspiring game with the usual kojima plot lines. I would never have expected it to have translated this well to gameplay but it does. You can truly get lost within this world and the time spent walking through it. Add on top of that a great soundtrack, cast and multiplayer cooperative feel and it's a total masterpiece.

    O jogo é meio lento no começo com cut scenes muito longas sim mas elas servem para te situar no que está acontecendo no jogo. Assim que o capítulo 3 começa o jogo engrena e fica muito bom. Não se deixe levar por esses haterzinhos que só viram uma ou outra review no YouTube.

    Masterpiece from Hideo Kojima.

    DS has a great Story, an interesting gameplay and the best atmosphere of all video games. The Landscape is amazing and very photorealistic.

    Divisive, but important is how i would characterize this game. I have not completed the game yet, but i do feel the artistic aspects of the game even at the expense of genuine, innovative gameplay. It certainly is not perfect, yet bold at the same time. Are there better games, undoubtedly, but i cant help but feel this is still special in some way.

    After completing the game I can honestly say that this is in my opinion Kojimas best game to date. The first playtrough took me a little over 73 hours and not a single one of them was wasted or boring. The gameplay in DS won't be for everyone. It demands patience and attention. It's not fast paced or filled with action. Quite the opposite. But that's the type of games I enjoy. You will beAfter completing the game I can honestly say that this is in my opinion Kojimas best game to date. The first playtrough took me a little over 73 hours and not a single one of them was wasted or boring. The gameplay in DS won't be for everyone. It demands patience and attention. It's not fast paced or filled with action. Quite the opposite. But that's the type of games I enjoy. You will be managing your cargo, planning out optimal routes, avoiding BTs (Ghosts), Mules, Terrorists and a deadly rain. You will build structures that other people can use or find structures built by others. You will rebuild entire roads if you desire (Yes you will be using bikes and Trucks in this game). And yes, sometimes you will also engange in combat both with humans and BTs. Not everyone will find the core gameplay loop of DS fun but I adore it. It's fun, it's addicting. Whenever I stopped playing DS I couldn't stop thinking about it.

    The Story on the other hand will be less divisie, it's Kojima at his best. It has its funny and sad moments. Well written characters. Amazing acting. An interesting setting. And funnily enough it's a lot easier to understand than some of Kojimas previous work.

    Honestly there is so much more to this game that this review doesn't do it justice. The online aspect of it alone is amazing and fun to play with.

    This game won't be for everyone, no doubt about that. But for me personally it's the best game of 2019 and this whole generation.    … Expand

    It's a complete "walking simulator" in what the internet has called it. But it's fun, dazzling and most importantly has a lot of great design. Don't let people who get bored when asked to do something different for once. Watch some gameplay and you    Death Stranding is a unique game. It's literally like an entire environmental puzzle. It's had me hooked for the 5 hours I've played so far.

    >Eventhough people saying this game is a glorified walking simulator the game does feel fresh, unique, and a bit different from the typical triple a open world games devs like to churn out every year with the same formula.
    >Characters, story, and the lore are pretty amazing and also really deep.
    >The actors are perfect for their roles.
    >Interactions with other players was really fun especially building stuffs to aid yourself and them as well.
    >Play the game whatever the way you want. You can kill or avoid every enemies all together.

    Cons
    >Like I said this is a very slow burn game and wouldn't even take off at 30 or so hours so you'll either like or hate it.
    >Missions are consist of the usual delivery this deliver that from point a to point b, yeah there is collect and timed missions but other than that there's barely any variety. Also some rewards aren't really worth the long walk.
    >Disappointed that Bt's and mules aren't really a threat but more of an annoyance and you can go rambo on an army if you have the firepower.
    >Bosses are easy as hell, even the final bosses are pretty easy and doesn't really require strategy to defeat.
    >Terrains and physics can be really inconsistent at times.
    >The damn truck. I hate it!

    will set real score after playing. Right now it is just fix for 0 bombers who probably didn't play ( probably yes - but 0? 0 means it is unplayable permanent bug without music and sound and has terrible graphics).

    This is a completionist's dream come true. Completing the links, making your own path, awesome unexpected new gear, the graphics... I'm addicted in the best way possible.

    GOTY for me. All that's left is to see what the replay value is.

    I can't honestly say what it is about Death Stranding that keeps me coming back but it just feels good. A feel good game. Takes your mind off things. Definitely puts you in a different world. Just enjoy it for what it is. Very well made and very well polished. Don't rush it, collect the upgrades and enjoy the benefits.

    Nor is it fitting within any catergory of games. Most of the time this game has its quiet moments and those moments are absolutely fantastic. While the surrounding and environment makes you truly feel like you're alone. Manifestation of other players can be seen or heard. This makes the game less lonely but yet it feels so desolate. The devs and directing did this absolutely brilliantly.

    The transition within this game is just outright fantastic. Including the acting and cutscenes. Its a very well polished game and very well excecuted. While situated in a serious environment, this game does not stop to show and express the absurdity of what gaming is. A good reflection on life how we shouldn't deny the absurdity of life.

    Ita unique to it's core and there is no other games like this. Which is good.
    Kojima is pushing for something here. And rest assure that in the upcoming near future, many games will apply and use elements of Death Stranding to into their own.

    "Walking Simulator" - it sure is, and it does it fantastically with an amazing array of equipment, exo skeletons and vehicles to help you navigate the terrain. "FedEx Simulator" -    Amazing, a masterpiece by Kojima. The criticisms leveled against it are mostly made by people who are watching a stream, or just contrarians. You'd have to be a brainlet to not be able to enjoy this game.

    "Walking Simulator" - it sure is, and it does it fantastically with an amazing array of equipment, exo skeletons and vehicles to help you navigate the terrain.

    "FedEx Simulator" - absolutely. Nearly every game is this - go here, do that, come back. Sometimes they disguise it (Go kill dragon and bring back bones). Instead, Kojima doubles down on it and it works, mainly because of the multiplayer connectivity which thankfully does not require PS+. I needed to upgrade a road, and another player had left a huge stash of metals in a post box, almost seemingly for this very occasion.

    People think the game is pretentious, but it's very transparent - the gameplay never pretends to be deeper than it is. It contains the familiar Hideo stealth sections which are fairly tense and some pretty simple combat, but the main enemy here is the environment and discovering how to navigate it is very enjoyable. The game progresses and unlocks gear at a nice rate so when you are thinking "oh man, I gotta walk here" suddenly you get vehicles, or a speed exo skeleton or zip lines, or after you spend ages trying to navigate a difficult area to make a delivery, you connect the region up to the Chiral network and other players buildings appear, giving you easy access over bridges and other structures.

    I would wager that people criticising this fall into one of three categories
    i) Watched a stream
    ii) ****
    iii) Didn't play past chapter 2.

    concerning the last point, chapter 2 is not boring, but Mama implies that you should finish everything before moving on. Ignore her. You can come back at any time. All she means is that anything you are carrying will be put in storage in a storage locker in the West Coast. Once you get to chapter 3 the game opens up immensely. Chapter 2 is still a tutorial.

    Once again, amazing game, will go down in history as extremely divisive but only brainlets who need constant stimulus will hate this. For everyone else, enjoy a relaxing game.    … Expand

    Death Stranding is creating a new game genre and therefore paves its own path towards more interactive experiences. It is a brave work thanks to its novelty, which fortunately is not a bragging right for its creators, as it may have seemed, but an exceptional title that will reward the brave who play it.     This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

    Death Stranding stands as a powerful author’s game which drives a strong message of how our over-connected society is evolving, and how we can help other players. Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
