    The game is truly awesome. Kojima-san made a game, that he dreamed about and promised us about. I don't have same feelings as other users have, i personally think, that his is a masterpiece here.

    I’m so glad i did not listen to the reviews of this game.

    What a great journey, diverse gameplay elements and unique concept. I truly enjoyed every single minute of this masterpiece.

    The Story, Music and Atmosphere all delivered.

    A must play!

    Las cinemáticas al comienzo del juego son perfectas.
    La historia es buena y es sublime esta al nivel de profundidad de otros grandes exclusivos de ps4.

    This is the most boring game I have ever played in my life. waste of money. I really wanted to love this game but to try to convince myself otherwise would be putting me in an abusive relationship with this game. I shouldn't try to have fun in a game. The game should be trying for my attention, not the other way around.

As for gameplay, it's much more complicated than "just walking". There are a ton of weapons, gear, towers, bridges, and much more to build and create both to help yourself and other players online. Every time you build something the game tells you when another player uses it. As you get better at the game you'll discover easier paths to travel and faster ways to deliver packages (the first vehicle unlocked is a god-send). And to top it all off, the score is absolutely amazing.… Expand

    This is a beautiful masterpiece. While I love games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, and Call of Duty, it is refreshing to play a game where combat isn't a focus. Where connecting, encouraging, and helping other players is a major focus. The soundtrack is phenomenal and the visuals are stunning. I actively look forward coming home after work and playing as much as I can.

    Sin duda es un juego totalmente diferente a lo que estamos acostumbrados, debemos tener en cuenta de que aunque Kojima es el creador del juego, éste no se trata de un "sucesor espiritual" de metal gear, eso deben tenerlo claro, no siempre hará los mismos tipos de juego; esta entrega es diferente y fascinante que obviamente no es para todos y menos para los acostumbrados a situacionesSin duda es un juego totalmente diferente a lo que estamos acostumbrados, debemos tener en cuenta de que aunque Kojima es el creador del juego, éste no se trata de un "sucesor espiritual" de metal gear, eso deben tenerlo claro, no siempre hará los mismos tipos de juego; esta entrega es diferente y fascinante que obviamente no es para todos y menos para los acostumbrados a situaciones frenéticas de acción, el objetivo (a mi parecer) fue transmitir emociones y creo que lo ha logrado, a pesar que el juego es reciente y las "ayudas" de otros jugadores son pocas en el futuro habrá más y varios lugares y rutas serán más accesibles y eso dará mas dinamismo para aquellos jugadores impacientes. Para finalizar recomiendo el juego si lo que buscas es algo diferente y una historia aún más profunda de lo que se ha visto, el juego mejorará a corto plazo cuando más jugadores lo completen y puedas encontrar más ayudas, mi calificación para este juego es 8.5, sería más alto de no ser por ese tipo de interactividad "online" que propone Kojima que la verdad no estamos acostumbrados y que complica un poco la experiencia para los que lo jueguen offline.… Expand

    Dont believe all these 0-3, many of these reviews come fron toxic fanboys. For example, many of them come from the fans of the spanish youtuber Saselandia, a rabid anti-Sony, toxic youber, who has been rallying agains the game from years, and his equally toxic fans arre swarming many spanish forums and metacritic reviews in order to give the game a bad rep.

    I played a lot of games of different genres. However, it was the Death Stranding that gave me what I had never experienced. I cried and laughed. Hoping and worried. For me, this game has become not just a great story, but much more. Thinking of it just as a walking simulator means that you are just scratching the surface of what you are playing, you can’t either judge the game by what you see in the gameplays of other people; you have to try it yourself.     Bom jogo, tem uma proposta mais voltada para algo que seria benéfico para a sociedade e está dando os primeiros passos para criar um novo gênero, fora que o mundo é belíssimo e os gráficos são ótimos, com certeza é um dos melhores gráficos do ps4, fora que pode se tornar algo a dar impulso a novas idéias para outros jogos.

The travel route is not always smooth and if you are hasty and run all the time, you will have a frustrating experience. You need to constantly use your scanner in order to identify the best possible path ahead of you that leads in the smoothest experience, even if it diverts from a straight path. This game requires patience. Our generation is so impatient that everyone is talking about how this game is frustrating. Maybe you should learn to be patient and you will love the game. Take a second. Think about your decisions in the game. Personally at this point I rarely have issues while walking because I have failed so many times, but now I have learnt how to handle the cargo.
    2. Annoying vehicle behaviour while traveling on a rock-y landscape: The wheels are METALLIC, NOT RUBBER. Stop driving over rocks. Metallic wheels exhibit poor grips. Think about the weaknesses of your equipment. Just because you have a vehicle, it doesn't mean you are entitled to a fast smooth travel to your destination. Ever delivery order includes a summary of the challenges en-route. Pay attention to these hints and plan ahead.
    3. It's just a walking simulator: No it isn't. Well, At the beginning there is a lot of walking which can be rewarding if you are patient and relaxed. Also, later on you will have so many amazing tools that will cut your travel time short. But even then you will miss walking and the joy of feeling the distance and the amazing views.
    This game contains most genres. Death Stranding isn't designed to give you a dopamine rush throughout the entire gameplay time like Call of Duty or Fifa. Actually if you are looking for an empty cliche game that serves you the same old concept, then Death Stranding isn't for you. Death Stranding does provide thrilling scenarios balanced with relaxing walks which give you time to reflect. There are many elements including horror, 3rd person shooter, open-world exploration, stealth, infrastructure construction, harvesting materials and crafting tools, etc. Given time, you will have access to such beautiful inventory of tools.
    So these were the main points about people are concerned about, which are all rooted in impatience and the urge to be satisfied. This game is a life lesson. And that lesson is "be patient and adaptive, so you can overcome the challenges". This game reflects who you are. If you don't believe me, play it with a friend of yours and you will see how different your friends approach is to yours. Death Stranding is without doubt one of the best stories ever told within one of the most beautifully crafted games.    … Expand

So if you aren't into any of those things, this game is probably not for you.

    If you are, well you are in luck! It's a unique take on a post-apocalyptic scenario that most in the genre is usually either filled with zombies in an urban environment or a Mad Max type of hellscape world with marauders. This game is actually full of varying environments from moss covered mountains with rivers and streams to rocky desert environments (and this is just the two first zones). Flora and locations are very detailed and a few times I stopped and soaked in the scenery. Character models are amazing in terms of detail as well and definitely is pushing whatever version you have of the PS4 to the max! Only games in terms of graphics that rival this game on the PS4 is Detroit: Beyond Human. Voice overs are top notch, again on par with Detroit or close to any Naughty Dog game. Ambient sounds are well done such as thunder, rain, and rivers and over a long mission the game will throw a mellow indie song to go along with your adventure.

    Gameplay is unique or annoying depending on your prespective. You are essentially the Special Forces of package delivery, making treks over long distances and your packages take damage from falls, time-altering rain (yes that is a thing here), other humans who want your packages, while avoiding the occasional invisible ghost called a BT. To elaborate more on the falling part, you can trip on rocks, tip over if you are carrying too much weight, fall off cliffs...but you have a nice arsenal of handy equipment like ladders and rope to help you traverse these obstacles, with full blown bridges, truck, motorcycles, and user built roads later in the game.

    The multiplayer in this game is unique too as you don't play directly with anyone, and I'm not sure how many people are assigned to a zone/server with you (20-50 is my guess) but you can find other player's gear, vehicles, buildings and use it. For instance, you may be coming to a wide river and have no ladder to put horizontally across to ease the crossing but luckily another player thought of that and you can use theirs and distribute "likes" to the player for the ladder like you would a funny meme on Facebook (and that you should).

    Story is interesting IMO, but maybe too convoluted for some and the game doesn't go into detail about the who,what,when,where and how of some things until later in the game. Not going into the details of the story because it's all to some extent a spoiler. You play as Norman Reedus aka Sam and take items from point A to B is most simplistic summary I can give without giving anything away or straight confusing people with the actual details. Will just tell you this isn't your typically Call of Duty single player campaign of shoot bad guys, stop nuclear/biological/chemical weapon. Nothing wrong with those games ( I enjoyed the latest Modern Warfare campaign) but this game adds lots of unique ideas that I've never seen in other games, so most is going to be unfamiliar and hard to follow for some.

    All in all, really liked my time with the game thus far but as mentioned this is going to be a love or hate it type of game I think. People who enjoy walking sims will really like this because unlike most indie versions, this game has a lot going on in terms of finding things to do and exploring and really doesn't force you to continue the story or force you anywhere if you don't want to go there yet. I like that kind of independence in a game and think many others do too. Again, if this doesn't sound like your cup of tea but are somewhat intrigued, rent it. You will be able to tell in the first 5-6 hours if this is a game for you or not.    … Expand

    One of the most beautiful games I've ever played. It's a good relief from all the action games in the market right now. Admittedly, this game won't be everyone's cup of tea. The story can be overly complicated but very rewarding once you invest the time.

    DEATH STRANDING is not a game for everyone. You probably will complain that it is too slow, or there isn't much to do other than deliveries. You might even get irritated with the fact that you have to drink monster energy drinks to replenish stamina, and do not receive a single piece of drywall to put your fist through. The game is more or less a third person adventure with item management and terrain navigation features. At first the game starts very slow, walking everywhere you deliver random things to holograms inside waystations and the like. The opening is cinematic heavy with an emphasis on getting you confused with terms and pseudoscience that wouldn't and couldn't make sense to the uninitiated. However, things become less confusing the deeper you go,assuming you can pay attention long enough to put plot points together. The navigation is difficult at times but may be trivialized by clever placement of tools like ropes and ladders and bridges. This is intentional as the game is really more a commentary on modern society as a whole rather than a conventional video game. The act of placing a ladder to scale a cliff to ease your journey is not only a statement, but also a strand of social commentary on what it means to be human. We use tools to not only convenience our lives,but the lives of others as well. The asynchronous multiplayer accomplishes this task well. The first time you see a ladder or bridge somewhere you had difficulty crossing before,brings a sense of togetherness in that we all attempt to accomplish similar goals.     Disappointing. A great expectation was created for this game and in the end it delivered a result much lower than expected. Beautiful graphics but outdated. The movement of the characters during the game seems very robotized. Many hours wandering around the map makes the experience very boring. Too simple combat mechanics with few variations.

    Amazing game for sure. Anything i could say was already wrote by other people who also played it. Amazing story, visual, stylization, cast, great game mechanics, emotional, complex and smart. For me its 8/10 game but i will go for 10/10 to combat all those trolls who didnt even play it and most likely dont even own PS4.

    Never been more disappointed with a game in my life! It’s a delivery simulator with hardly anything interesting. I tried my best to enjoy it but the only thing attention grabbing is the graphics. Don’t waste your money.

    Truly a beautiful and wonderful experience. In depth traversal based gameplay, with a beautiful world of unique characters and astonishing scenery. This is not a game for everyone, but if you are looking for something wholly unique and extremely well made, then I recommend you pick this game up.

    I rate games based on two criteria’s: 1. Did I enjoy my time with it? 2. Did I ever get bored playing it?

    On this game I’ve enjoyed myself a lot. It’s a chill game. I’m not bored by the walking. That’s what I enjoy. Just chill for a while while walking through the beautiful landscape. The story is really engaging and interesting too.

But that doesn't mean thatWonderful game. The mechanics are clean and crisp. You almost forget that you have a controller in your hand as you become Sam. Many other popular games are instant gratification, low effort games. This is not one of those! But that doesn't mean that that player base can't absorb and immerse themselves into a game that is much more deeply fulfilling. There are so many nice travel details that I won't spoil but should be recognized and it is awesome to see the effects of all of the other players in your world. Very Cool.

    Some people throw around the words like boring walking simulator. It could not be further from the truth. Never has a game made traversal so engaging. The interesting thing is that compared to most open world game there is a lot less back tracking in Death Stranding and even that travel is meaningful. As the game progresses you can definitely bounce back and forth from spot to spot, doing side missions, and building up resources but that that is completely optional. I was 25 hours in before i thought to myself "now for a couple of back and forth side missions to see how a relationship would progress." Other than that I was just rolling along wholeheartedly doing what Sam does best.

    Death Stranding breaks the Point A activity.....boring travel, travel, travel (or fast travel loading screens over and over)......Point B activity. Completely turns that on it's head. The entire game has meaning and game play attached. Not just the ends of the line.

    Death Stranding is definitely a game built with love and care. You can tell with every detail and every word how much care went into making this game. There is plenty of that MGS quirkiness and charm that we all love. It just brings out the personality of this game that much more.

    This is one of those games that will be talked about fondly in 10-20 years. The value of this game will shine progressively brighter once the haters stop pounding the keyboards for Likes and as time passes and more people absorb the brilliance that is Death Stranding.    … Expand

    I didnt even like the Metal Gear games. But i am SO HAPPY that i gave death stranding a try. One of the best experiences ive had the pleasue to play. The highlight is definately its overwhelmingly interesting world! Biggest downside is the gameplay loop might not work for some players with zero patience.

    A thoroughly enjoyable game with excellent gameplay mechanics, an engaging story, an online system that works and is explained in game. My only caveat is that this game is most certainly NOT for everyone. At its heart it is a “walking simulator” and if you don’t enjoy that style of game then you aren’t likely to enjoy this.

Controls are tight and easy to get used to (very helpful that the prompts and tutorials will recur throughout on 'Normal' mode. Yes a lot of what you do in the beginning is repetitive, but it gets better, and the story is amazing in the way only Kojima can make it. Norman Reedus does a fine job as your stubborn but stalwart protagonist, and every other actor is phenomenal in their own role. Music is fittingly dystopic, graphics look great running on a ps4 pro on a 4k TV, and no loading screens from area to area. I never feel like I'm left "out in the Timefall" when I load up my gear and set off west.… Expand

I bought the game 2 days after release after watching some gameplay and reading reviews. This game is amazing, the visuals the sound design, the gameplay itself. It is slow to start I’ll grant it that, if you like combat it’s in there, it’s not in your face all the time and more often than not you can sneak or silently take out enemies. However if you want to get into some fights and make it at high action game, it can be that too. Jump into a pack of BT’s and fight the catcher which is like a mini boss fight. Run into a group of MULES and punch to your hearts content. The game can be played how the player wants. I prefer sneaking and only getting my hands dirty when I have to and so far it’s worked. The story is crazy, it’s so **** up and weird... it’s good! You do deliver a lot, that’s the point of the game but the story and character development and acting is second to none and who knew delivering could be so fun. You have to plan your routes, avoid the BT’s and take the long route or go straight through them risking your cargo but it’s shorter. Ride a trike straight through if you’re feeling like a daredevil or leave it behind and go on foot. Pack ladders and climbing rope or leave it behind and hope the countless of other players have left assistance along the way. Inventory management is a big thing in this game but it makes you think about what you’re taking and do you really need this equipment for this run? If you really can’t be bothered manually sorting your inventory out then you can just use the auto inventory manage button, but bare in mind this doesn’t take into account item fragility, the cargo you’re delivering could end up being squished under countless other cargo crates. Playing online makes this game even better, other porters (players) can build roads, bridges, watchtowers and whatnot which you can then use and upgrade. It gives you such a sense of achievement when you start a bridge or road and the next time you roll through that area the bridge is complete or the road stretches on into the distance. The sense of community really shines through. Read maps and tips/info carefully as you can end up getting pissed off if you don’t read something correctly and end up walking miles just to realise you left your cargo behind. This game is going to be a love it or hate it, but give it time and I think you’ll come to love it if you invest time into it. It’s brilliant, enthralling and you may just find yourself not being able to stop. 9/10!… Expand

    Narrative: An engaging mysterious post apocalypse where people are forced underground from beings from a death dimension "the beach" and rain that ages anything it touches. You play as Sam Porter Bridges one of the few delivery people who brave the elements and dangers of the surface bringing supplies and trying to connect various settlements and bunkers to the Chiral Network (internet). Shenanigans with un-death and terrorists ensue

    Gameplay: This is the bread and butter of the game. You have 4 main types of quest quality, quantity, speed and misc. Where you have to deliver fragile equipment and must not damage the supplies, deliver large volumes of supplies, make a delivery within a limited time frame, and other deliveries such as recovering gear from MULES (fanatical delivery people). On the surface this seems like a boring idea but its the execution that really brings it together. Gathering the supplies, optimizing the route to avoid dangers (or preparing to go through them), reaching your destination by creating paths over rugged terrain via structures you or other players created. That last part of creating paths and structures like roads really cement the loop into a incredibly fun game. Spending hours to gather enough supplies to create new stretches of road to increase the safety and efficiency of deliveries. creating bikes or stealing MULE cars to increase the amount supplies and speed of delivery. Its an engaging and fun design which has me doing side quest after side quest getting materials for buildings to make my paths that much easier for future quests.

    Soundtrack: The soundtrack is incredible and fits the mood extremely well... When it plays. Unfortunately it doesn't play all the time and only during story missions or near a structure playing music. I can understand why thematically its done this way its just unfortunate and wish it was played more often. Sound effects are crunchy and fit very well to actions taken.

    Recommended for anyone who thinks the loop is interesting enough to try. This game is most definitely not for anyone who is not looking for a mostly relaxing game with bouts of anxiety sprinkled throughout.    … Expand

    It's like an interactive completely original Sci fi epic. I don't play games often and have fou d games like RDR2 boring due to the constant travelling, but this game is great. The traversing is actually interesting, you have to be strategic.

    This game does manage to be fun, even if it is one of the heaviest experiences of 2019. Everything from story to gameplay is begging to be dissected, filled with imagery and symbolism -- just like so many Kojima games before this one. Entering Death Stranding, it’s likely that we all thought Kojima’s calling card was lengthy cutscenes and stealth and action gameplay.

Unlike many AAA games, it shines on a truly spiritual level. Well written, engaging and visually magnificent, it offers, despite some pacing flaws, an astonishing solo game with elegant multiplayer elements. A unique representation of Hideo Kojima’s talent.
