While not all of the DLC is a home run, the tweaks to the main game are all a net positive. The new Capcom Heroes mode is also a blast, and basically turns Dead Rising into a crossover musou title. Frank’s Big Package may look completely ridiculous, but it’ll leave you pleased in all of the right ways.

For a game about the simple act of killing zombies, Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package supplies players with an unbelievable variety of ways to get the job done. Some of the modes that might have felt slight as individual DLC purchases just become icing on the delicious cake of destruction that is Frank’s Big Package. Weirdness and chaos can take you pretty far when the core game play is as solid as it is here. There is a ton of fun content here that makes Frank’s Big Package well worth the purchase.

Dead Rising 4 is a blissfully stupid good time, and as Dan stated in his review, it’s an incredibly focused experience with clear ideas about what it wants to accomplish. While this iteration removes one of the big things that made Dead Rising what it was (to me, anyway) the team at Capcom Vancouver make up for it by delivering satisfying zombie slaughter couched in a dopey, humorous world that fits the series’ core ideals. For newcomers or those who waited for it to hit PS4, Frank’s Big Package represents a fantastic opportunity to jump in and experience everything Dead Rising 4 has to offer, making the extra year of waiting well worthwhile.

Hyperbolic, over-the-top and by moments spectacular, this is a game for those who want fun without complex barriers. It may be a bit too simple if you expect the classic hardcore experience.

Frank has a Big Package and I'm glad that he can now show it off to his fans. There's so much content in this Dead Rising 4 release that if you missed it on Xbox One and consider yourself a fan then it's a definite must-buy.

Still a fun sandbox that gets even bigger with new modes and possibilities while also fixes some of the mistakes made on the original DR 4... Unfortunately there's still a lot of bugs and mistakes that remain untouched one year later.

Dead Rising 4: Frank's Big Package is made for people who love the idea of killing large zombie hordes in an outrageous fashion. The main game may not be as challenging as previous entries, but it remains engaging, and it would've been a fine purchase for PS4 owners. The presence of both old and new DLC makes the game absolutely packed, and while mini-golf isn't as strong as either Frank Rising or Capcom Heroes, its inclusion is still welcome.

I found Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package better put together than the original release. This time around you don't need to worry about the real conclusion being behind a paywall, and there are two new modes to enjoy. Especially for those who didn't previously own an Xbox One and thus missed out of the original, the result of this package is that you've got something genuinely good fun to play this holiday season.

There’s a lot to see and do here in this full DLC game. There’s multiple modes to play, a lengthy story mode, ridiculous characters, and for the most part, a pretty fun time. It has its issues, but honestly, every Dead Rising game I have played has had them. I still like them all the same, and when getting into it, it can be a really fun time. To top it all off, Frank’s Big Package is only 50 bucks, and with everything that comes with it, there’s a lot of content here for what you’re paying for. Dead Rising fans should most certainly pick this one up, and people looking for a fun zombie killing game will find it here too whether it’s with a sledgehammer with a cement blade strapped to it or kicking them to death as Cammy from Street Fighter, you’re going to have a pretty fun time.

Dead Rising 4: Frank's Big Package is really the best way to experience Dead Rising 4. It's got all the DLC and it moves smoother than the Xbox One version. Capcom Heroes is a big savior for the game that makes it worth a replay for those that have already played the original game on Xbox One. Fans of the Xbox One version are lucky to be getting Capcom Heroes as a free add-on for their current version since it's honestly the best of the extra modes. The overall campaign, multiplayer mode and season pass DLC still remain the same for the most part but having it all in one package along with a new mode makes it definitely worth the purchase.

Filled to the brim with quality content, Dead Rising 4: Frank's Big Package is a blood-soaked holiday adventure that may not please purists, but will delight those looking for a good time.

Dressing up as some of Capcom’s greatest characters and utilizing their weapons and abilities to destroy hundreds of zombies is a thrilling new way to experience the campaign. It’s unfortunate that PS4 players had to wait a whole year to experience this zombie-slaying adventure, but at least they’re getting a big package filled with plenty of comfort and joy.

Though Dead Rising 4: Frank's Big Package has noticeably distanced itself from its predecessors - a move likely to alienate series fans - Capcom's latest is still a damn fun game that doesn't take itself too seriously. Its Christmas setting benefits the game's character as a whole, and the wacky weapons and great gunplay, coupled with the new exo suit, ensure that combat is as punchy and enjoyable as ever, and while there is a feeling that it lacks identity, it certainly doesn't lack comedy. Frank West has risen again, and while he isn't as recognisable as his former self, he's been revamped in style.

A year later, Dead Rising 4 arrives on PS4 with the same vices and virtues, but with more content than ever. It's not the best in the series, but still an enjoyable game.

It's fun to keep killing zombies but the 'big package' is not so impressing. The main game itself however is fun and it's good to have Frank back.

With staples like the persistent timer and sporadic saves gone, the urgency and dread is gone – allowing Dead Rising to be the silly, absurd bit of zombie-slaying mayhem it always wanted to be. Purists may scoff, but there’s no denying that it’s fun – and just about the best Christmas game in existence.

Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package is a big, catchy, and bloody game which shows both the pros and the cons of the original title and it mix them with some brilliant additional content. If you like the series and you didn't play the PC or Xbox One version, you should grab it.

This is a fun comedy for the darkest days of the year. It offers crazy outfits and guns to handle the endless amounts of zombies. The story is a bit too serious compared to the rest of the game, but the overall craziness is excellent.

It's certainly the best version of the game to buy, and Capcom Heores is fun, but their are some technical issues, and it does make you wonder just how many more games Capcom can get from a fading franchise.

Overcoming some fan criticism from last year's release, Dead Rising 4 Frank's Big Package is a celebration of how silly zombie killing can be. It still doesn't manage to be as good as the first Dead Rising, though.

Frank's Big Package offers a lot of content and many enjoyable extras, although Dead Rising 4 is the least loyal to the series' general lines. It succeeds when it comes to entertainment, but Frank West's comeback as main character could have been much better.

Dead Rising 4 is great fun for people who want to take on zombies and not feel threatened but if you already have the base game, you might not want to fork out the full price for Frank’s Big Package. If this will be your first step into Frank West’s shoes: by all means, grab a weapon and jump right in.

Dead Rising 4 was and (with all the added modes) still is just a shadow of the franchises former self. Having said that, especially the new Capcom Heroes mode embraces and emphasizes the new arcade direction and is actually quite entertaining.

Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package still comes with all the flaws and warts it had during its original release, but if you can look past that, and deal with some laggy multiplayer connection problems, there’s still a fun and varied story experience waiting for you here.

Dead Rising 4 continues the series' focus on absurd fun, with a mixture of insane weaponry and idiotic enemies. It makes for a cute singleplayer adventure, to be sure, though the same cannot be said for the game's repetitive multiplayer, which flatout doesn't always work properly.

A game worth playing if you’re a fan of the series solely because of the new features, however, regarding the single-player story it felt more like a one and done for me.

Dead Rising 4 Frank's Big Package is a perfect pick for any fan of the IP as it's filled with content, but in spite of the "Capcom Heroes" mode, the game still retains all of the original drawbacks like a lack of fun and repetitive fights.

Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package is perhaps the perfect Christmas game; stuffed to the gills with content that swiftly loses its novelty, with the overall effect being a kind of overfed sleepiness. In this case, less could have been more.
  36. The only thing I really like in Dead Rising: Frank's Big Package is the Capcom Heroes mode. I guess it's more than enough for me to keep playing this game.

At times it feels like a reanimated corpse itself, but as mindless and predictable as it may be Dead Rising 4 can still offer hours of inoffensively dumb entertainment.
  38. 55
This is definitely a Dead Rising game, but it certainly isn’t the Dead Rising it once was. This is the greying, shuffling husk of a lovably naff series, turned horrifically bland.

Dead Rising 4: Frank’s Big Package is an exceptional port of the original package, with additional content that fans will have a blast with. But that doesn’t mean it isn’t still the worst entry in the series by quite a wide margin.

When it comes to Dead Rising 4: Frank's Big Package, the same question comes up over and over again: Who is this for? Here's a title that not only fails to win over fans of Dead Rising, but it also fails to win over fans of videogames. Slaying hundreds of thousands of zombies is not compelling entertainment, especially when the combat mechanics are so unsatisfying. The entire adventure just feels tired and cynical, sapping players of the necessary energy to carry on with their day. This critic racked up well over 25 hours of play and didn't laugh, not even once. What else needs to be said? Maybe this game is for people who no longer wish to experience joy.

It feels like Capcom couldn’t quite decide what it wanted Dead Rising 4 to be. Should it be a return to roots and the style of the first game, as the use of Frank and Wilamette suggests? Should it be a Saint’s Row style casual sandbox fun, gleefully nuts without much restraint, as the design and combat is? Should it be something new, a new vision for the series? Dead Rising 4 tries to be all three, and while it’s by no means a bad game little about it stands out as a result.

There are definitely some clunky menu issues and a bug here and there, nothing major or game breaking at least so far. I don't know where people get this notion that Dead Rising story was some like super cereal intriguing thriller but its about what you would expect more or less. Its extremely nice that the time limit thing is gone, as much as I liked Dead Rising I don't want to have to play a game 10 times to do everything. Pretty decent attempt from Capcom to change things up and bring in new people, not everything needs to cater to just the herpcore fan base that doesn't like change or apparently fun, cause the game is fun...There is a ton of content that its kind of surprising that Capcom didn't try and charge the full $60 for it Full Review »

There's a ton of potential here, and it's completely wasted by removing series tropes in favor of nonsensical zombie killing.

Easily the blandest game in the series, and no amount of costumes and post launch DLC will fix that. The game is fundamentally stunted due to poor response from controls, and a lack of things to do outside of the main missions, which are required to be done before one can have full access to the map in the last couple of missions. When your open world game doesn't open up until chapter 4, and it only has 6 chapters, there is a problem.

Removal of many of the series features let's it down including throwable items, psychopath bosses with cutscenes, lack of original Frank VA, time limit, campaign co-op and more! Along with bugs, crashes and the graphics being average at best with an unfinished look at times (but atleast it's more colourful than the 3rd game)

I'm very surprised they didn't add campaign co-op with this second chance. It really shows just how much they listen to their fanbase. Add it back or it's 1/10 forever! This is definitely the worst Dead Rising game to date!
