the game is wonderful, interesting characters, history. graphics are secondary. there are bugs, but which game has no bugs at the start? it seems that the expectations for the game were too much inflated.

Great story and side quests . Cyberpunk didn't have the best launch but after patch 1.05 the game definitely looks great , hopefully cdpr will keep updating and fixing the bugs but the core of the game which is the story and the setting definitely are solid .

This game is unplayable and downright insulting for PS4 owners. CDPR should be ashamed of themselves for even releasing this garbage they call a game to unsuspecting gamers all around the world. Please don't buy this game unless you have a very high end PC which obviously this game was made for.

Also, CDPR went out of their way to hide this and tricked millions of people into buying this trash day one when by holding back reviewer footage and that is not acceptable. They lost all the good will they had from me and cahsed it in to sell this game. CDPR became Bethesda overnight. 0/10 in that regard.

I have heard people claim that the fact a lot of the missions come through a text or call over the phone takes away from actually exploring the world yourself, and with that I severely disagree. So far it seems like it’s almost 50/50 between quests you get over the phone and quests you need to find, so if you want to travel the world ignorantly then there is still benefit to it, but I rather enjoy the fact that after I finish one mission I’m getting a call somewhere else intriguing me to go do that other thing. More than anything because of that this game is addictive, it’s like it always leaves you hanging on a cliffhanger. You just finished mowing down some bandits for the NCPD and then your friend calls you up to go commit some crime. I never want to put the controller down. This, and the intricate array of characters in the game are easily my two favorite parts of the game from a long list of strong qualities. I don’t understand why media outlets are pleading people not to play the game on base consoles. The bugs are there 100%, I recommend to please go in expecting that. But with how unique and interesting this game is, I can’t help but recommend it to anyone interested even with the bugs present.

Story and game play is exceptional, graphically (minus bugs, glitches & crashes) the backwards compatible version is ok, with some further optimisation, I pray that these can write the wrongs.

As an Australian, we are paying between $76-$110 AUD for this game. And if not for the captivating game play and story, I would be requesting a refund due to a poor product.

CDP have a lot of work to do, they know this, and I'm hoping that this be a lesson to them in the future that if you want to run a hype train such as they have, make sure they have a product that works first.

What we have witnessed is the battle between keeping the stockholders happy and game devs pushing for more time. Instead of chucking them under the bus, allow them time to finish to a quality that's playable.

Really enjoyed the first run on PS4Pro and now with the PS5 update and my second run it bring a whoie new dimension to the game. Absolutely love the graphical update. The cityscapes look amazing and the whole feel of the game is now much more realistic. Some minor bugs still exist but CDPR seem to be working really hard on getting this to be a the game we all hoped for.

Cyberpunk 2077 had potential to be one of the best games of our generation but unfortunately the game is plagued with so many technical issues, my review would be way too long if I were to go through them all. Cyberpunk has an interesting story and several characters that are memorable. Side missions with key characters are even enjoyable and provide several perspectives on what life can be like in Night City. When it works and the game is not having any texture issues, Night City does look amazing and CDPR nailed the Cyberpunk vibe with the vehicles, the looks of the NPCs and the buildings plastered with ads that would be from that era. Combat can be fun with many ways to approach certain sections, although the hacking mechanics were more of an afterthought for me and enemy AI can be so stupid it makes the fun of combat inconsistent.

I played the game on a PS5, so it was not anywhere near unplayable to playing it on a base last-gen console, however my play-though still had many crashes (around 1 per hour?) and game-breaking bugs that required me to reset the game or reload a save. Several times pop-ups would get stuck on the UI and it was extremely annoying. Not to mention NPCs would just fail to do animations properly, get stuck on terrain and T pose randomly.

When CDPR manages to fix all these issues and who knows when that will be, we have a great game here. I am also keen to see what DLCs they will cook up, but for now, I would recommend staying away until they do fix it or if you managed to get your hands on a next-gen console and have extreme patience like I do then give it a go.

What was CDPR thinking of releasing a game in this state? The performance is woeful at time. Simple animations just freaking out, slow load times when opening the map/menu, some really basic stuff that there's really no excuse for. Performance isn't great and CDPR will have lost a lot of goodwill by deceiving players. Personally, I'm of the opinion that The Witcher 3 wasn't great at launch but they turned that around. Admittedly, this is a big mountain to climb but I have faith they will make it right.

All the bugs aside, I have found it pretty enjoyable. I'm enjoying the narrative more than I thought I would but it can be a slog when they start chatting about tech like you're supposed to know wtf they're talking about. The game suffers from the common problem that all open-world games face in today's gaming landscape and that is they all feel flat and dull. A massive city, nobody around. The ones that are around ain't doing **** which, kinda makes sense narratively for this corpo world. It used to be ok 10, 20 years ago but players expect a bit of feel and buzz in their open-world experiences. Pair the lack of buzz with and NPC sitting on thin air or leaning on a wall but a good 2 feet away from it and verisimilitude goes right out the window.

Character creation has plenty of options for you to create whatever weirdo you want. The ability to choose full nudity is a great inclusion and something I hope to see more of in mature games going forward. I thought for sure Sony would censor it. Matters like this should always be given to the individual to decide and not be told by companies that you can't see this. We have age ratings for a reason. Your outfit is your armour in this game which is nice. Means you can walk around in shorts and a vest without losing armour but, the best amour I have seen so far tends to come in the form of bigger, heavier items that are fit for purpose, which makes sense. Just once I would like my pink hotpants to protect me more than combat gear, sigh. 1 thing that has annoyed me is the lack of a hide armour feature. Unless I'm an idiot and have missed it somewhere, you cant choose to hide any clothes. I really want to hide my hat and mask slots but it doesn't seem to be possible.

Seen a lot of people complain about the driving and I don't know what to tell you. It's basic and serves a purpose. I haven't found it too bad. This is an FPS/RPG, not Gran Turismo.

Overall there's still a lot of work that needs to be done to bring this game up to its full potential. CDPR were kind of the last bastion of a safe and trusted developer for many gamers. But first impressions matter, ask Anthem, ask Marvel Avengers. It's what you will be remembered for and Cyberpunk is going to be, I think for a lot of people, remembered more for what it's done to CDPRs reputation rather than a game that was what seems to be, too ambitious in its reach.

I will keep the faith for now that CDPR will keep working on Cyberpunk to make it the best it can be. And I believe they will in their own way, try to make it up to their audience, which is more than can be said for the rest of the AAA crowd. But they are on thin **** ice in my book. Because you can't tell me this game has spent 7, 8 years in development and release something of this quality. It would be a different story if this was another yearly or biennial title like AC has become. You would expect this level of quality. But 8 years!!! It's actually worse.

The bugs ruin the game. On PS4, I've had 4 crashes in about 8 hours of gameplay. The random graphic glitches border on making the game unplayable. I can deal with floating assets, but the one that really ruins the game are when dialog starts overlapping or the audio gets off track from the gameplay. I've also had several instances where I can't progress because something got "stuck" in the progress.

Another glitch that makes the game almost unplayable is when the description pop-up box for an item gets stuck on screen. I've had a tire iron description box stuck in the bottom right of the screen overlapping needed information and it simply won't go away.

I've also somehow managed to screw up an association with a group that seems to be critical to the story that has caused me to have to creatively find a way through a mission with no weapons and dozens of angry gang members. Thank god in this stage I'm apparently a bullet sponge and able to fist punch huge dudes with AR's and steal their gear.

This game should have been delayed. It's clearly half baked. It's a shame because the premise, story, environment and gameplay could have made this one of the best titles in a decade. Instead it plays like a rushed demo.

Don't bother with cars, they don't handle well at all, and don't bother driving ANYTHING in first person because it is SO disorienting and difficult and annoying. Motorcycles are the only vehicles that work. The game has crashed on me, A LOT. I've had glitches happen that haven't been fixable by restarting/reloading my last save. I've had to go back at least 40 minutes of gameplay multiple times just to get rid of a persistent bug like Rogue showing up in my apartment when I called her on the phone and not disappearing no matter how many times I restarted the game. I've played over 40 hours so far so this isnt just a first impression either.
It's frustrating that such an otherwise fantastic and immersive game was released so broken for the platform it was originally intended to release on. The negativity and anger is directed at the management and executives at CDPR for deliberately hiding ps4 gameplay because they feared it would hurt their day one sales, which is so messed up. I bought the game on pre order over a year ago. and now I feel like a damn fool to be honest. I will have to actually spend thousands of dollars to buy parts and build a high functioning PC in order to play this game properly which tell take me more time and money than I could ever dream of having to make this game work the way it should.
Don't get mad at the Devs, story designers or artists. This isn't the fault of those who put in so much time and hard work and love into this game over the years. The game when it works is phenomenal. It's immersive, the characters and relationships feel real, the story is exciting, Keanu Reeves' performance is fantastic and compelling, etc. This is really a management and executive issue and CDPR needs to be held accountable as a company for this level of deceit and the way they actually treated their employees. Forced crunches and six day weeks and the threat of withholding bonuses if the game didn't get over 90% is downright unethical and unfair.
I don't recommend playing this game on console. It's a frustrating, heartbreaking, and disappointing experience. Don't know how it plays on the next gen consoles, but from what I've watched and read and experienced, it seems like the game performs at its best on a high graphics high functioning PC, which honestly sucks as it alienates lower income players who cant afford to drop thousands of dollars on a PC that will run this monster of a ~120GB game.
I really hope CDPR gets its **** together and starts listening to its fans and treating its employees well. It's evident that so much hard work and love and thought went into creating this marvelous game and it's unfair that so many people's experience has been incredibly tainted by this absolute mess of a release on last gen consoles.

Any product that DOES NOT WORK properly on day 1 of its release is unacceptable. This is the problem with a lot of AAA modern games in general these days (looking at you No Man's Sky and Fallout 76). Cyberpunk gets a 0/10 until the game is actually playable. NPCs walk through objects, blip in and out of the game like they’re traveling through dimensions, and anytime I go to ride my motorcycle, I see my character load followed by all of his clothes popping out of thin air.

The gameplay itself is nothing to brag about either. The idea that your choices would significantly impact events was overly hyped. Starting as a Nomad, for example, I’m occasionally given some additional dialog options based on that, but they don’t actually push the conversation forward. No matter what, I still have to select the single yellow line of text that allows for the prescripted event to keep flowing. If you wanna play an FPS RPG for the PS4, you seem better off playing something like Fallout 4 or The Outer Worlds.

Other systems that were implemented also drastically fail to meet their mark. The wanted system for committing crimes is a cheap knock off of the system in GTA that doesn’t even work right. Police will literally magically appear behind you, even if there’s nowhere for them to come from, so either the NCPD are all equipped with teleporters and tracking devices, or that’s not right.

Additionally, NPCs all act exactly the same way to everything. If you fire a gun, be prepared to see every single NPC cowering in fear, even if they weren’t in an area nearby you when there was shooting. If you try to stop a crime that’s occurring where people are around, even after killing the criminals and putting your gun away, they won’t change their pose either.

You could literally go on and on about all of the issues this game has and still point out more. In its current state, I would give it a 6 or 7/10, but with all the bugs, I’m giving it a 4. Save yourself the time, and play something else. I’m personally shelving it, and I’ll wait to see if they make improvements. If they do, I’ll give it another try.

Force them to make it better to earn your money back. They’ve had 8 years to make this game better. Gamers shouldn’t stand for this kind of manipulation. Imagine if you pre ordered an iPhone and 60% of the features they talked about and advertised were missing. There’s no difference at all between that and a digital purchase.

In fact it was probably the only thing that kept me playing long enough to get through the main story, which is absurdly short. I'm actually upset that the glitches have distracted so many people from the real issues with this ostensibly terrible game. The world building is great and beautiful, despite all of the bugs, even on the PS4. But the beauty is skin deep and the city is dead everywhere you look. There is virtually no NPC AI and NPCs will despawn when you aren't looking at them, even if you just turn your head. The story was not engaging or original. In fact it was downright hard to follow at times, which lead to completing missions without fully knowing why you were doing them. Although, every mission was essentially the same anyways so it didn't matter in the end. Simply go to this place, shoot the bad people and either steal this thing or kill this person, rinse and repeat. I felt very little interest in continuing the story and kept hoping I would simply get past this boring section and get to something I would feel more invested in, but after just a few short missions later I was seeing the end credits. If this is meant to be a RPG, there are very few roleplaying elements, yes there is a character creator, but the options are limited and once you have created the character you can't even change their haircut in game. There is an illusion of choice with dialogue options but no matter which option you choose the end result is almost always the same. Even the choice at the beginning of which "lifepath" which is essentially just a single mission and a cut scene which leaves you to start the game at exactly the same place as the other lifepaths, with the occasional dialogue option in the future. The single redeeming quality in this game is the beautiful world that was created, which has nothing at all for you to do in it besides wander around taking selfies with your character, which is totally fine if that is how it had been marketed and presented, but promising a gamer a "next gen game" with an "immersive world" with "story changing character choices" is not only inaccurate, but in my view approaches on downright fraud to the consumer.

TLDR: Cyberpunk is an instagram background simulator, with a few side missions included.

But a gold medal covered in cow poop isn't something you'd be able to ignore while putting it around your neck. Having not finished the game, if bugs were in check I would give this game a 9 or 10 thus far. I have played mainly the main story and the occasional side mission amounting to roughly 15 hours of total gameplay. So far I only have one issue with the game itself and how to play it. When in the heat of battle, the health button is badly placed on PS4. Without paddles it would be quite frustrating having to change grip to allow me to use the joystick and heal at the same time. Issues like that and the many many obvious bugs that take very little time to reveal themselves point to lack of attention. Both the health button and the variety of unacceptable bugs are the type that give me the impression very little time was spent checking the playability of the game on PS4. If I only need to play for 20 minutes and can make a list of issues, how hard did they really try? Making a great game is only half of the job. Making it playable and smooth is the other, very vital part of the task at making a great game. It's very disappointing to say the least. If I hadn't gotten it for $25 (amazon gift card) I would definitely return it and wait for a sale. I obtained a physical copy the day it was released. As of Dec 18th, 1:20pm west coast, there has not been 1 single update on PS4. Frankly that makes me just as angry as the bugs themselves. There should have at least been 1 by now. I would recommend being patient and playing one or the other million games out there and wait for this stuff to be resolved. Expand

Advertising of the game with videos that do not correspond at all to reality. The game is unplayable: full of graphics and physics bugs, offbeat sounds in conversations, graphically reduced for the machine, a lot of slowdowns and drops in frame rate. A total disrespect towards the players considered as cash cows. This game should never have been released.

Everything has already been said but I played this (up to 1.04) on a PS4 Pro and the quality was horrible. The game would crash about twice every hour and the FPS gave me headaches. It was so blurry and choppy that I could not play it for an extended time. Next to all the bugs the AI and overall mechanics were horrible. I know other developers (Rockstar) have way more experience with this but come on, everyone that plays this sees the intern level of AI that was created.

I might have been able to complete the game if it was not for all the Bugs. The story is acceptable for how much I played and I really, really wanted to get into the game properly. It was just impossible to be emerged into this game due to all the issues.

I also had issues with my HDR television; turning on HDR in the game made everything so dark that it was almost impossible to see NPCs/enemies. I was able to adjust certain settings and make it acceptable but I don't want to spent time changing settings on my TV to make a AAA game look proper.

I wish I had a high end PC available to be able to enjoy and play this game. I requested a refund from Sony.

Registered just to write a review. I'm going to ignore the bugs because people are too focused on that. It's a huge, beautiful city with open badlands to explore, but nothings there. I went to a compound before a story quest, and no one was there, I could get all the loot there but it was empty. This is every where, there's a ton of side quests but its very 1 dimensional and there areRegistered just to write a review. I'm going to ignore the bugs because people are too focused on that. It's a huge, beautiful city with open badlands to explore, but nothings there. I went to a compound before a story quest, and no one was there, I could get all the loot there but it was empty. This is every where, there's a ton of side quests but its very 1 dimensional and there are journal entries, but they don't mean anything. Any journal could be swapped with most other side quests and it wouldn't matter.

V is a gun for hire for any gang. The police are in essence a gang too, paid off and shady. And it's in the story. I came across cop's shooting civilians, and the diary shard said they were being followed by people dressed like cops. But nothing comes of it, you can't fight cops, more cops just teleport to you. There's no crime/bounty system, anything is okay to do, just don't hurt cops or a civilian, you can rob them but if you push them 5 cops will teleport to you.

The perks are busted. Crafting makes it so you can craft things, then scrap it for more material you start with. Cyberhacking makes it so you one shot groups of people with a glance on very hard mode.

Stealth is off, you'll be spotted through walls, enemies will be alerted forever for some reason, and if you toss a grenade from 3 blocks or take a shot from a mile, they know exactly where it came from. I can buy that if someone see's you everyone automatically sees you because they're cybernetically linked, but if that's the case, they'd also be aware if you took them down quietly.

I like the diversity in weapons, but for the unique weapons/shards/armor you have to either look it up, or do every quest, and there usually 5 in a given 100 meter spot and a dozen on a path from one point to another, so you have no idea what you should do and there's no indicators what quests have gear or extremely valuable perk shards.

And my main grip is looking like a freaking clown. The perk unlocking legendary gear in crafting is one set of gear, a racing jump suit with heels, and pool goggles, great, but it has incredibly valuable mod slots that increase armor by 200 or crit by 15% so I can't pass that up. But every time I come into the menu I have to freaking look at it. I hate it, I freaking hate it.

The romance options bugged, me. It turned out everyone I liked you couldn't flirt with and I had one option, and if I chose a masculine voice for my V, which I almost did, I would have had no options.

I felt like I didn't have many options. Like some missions might play out one way or another, But others just have black and white choices, like delivering a corpo intern to a gang, or not. You can't talk to the corpo then talk to the gang. You can't deliver the car then kill the gang, collect the reward, then kill them and the release the corpo. It's just this, or that. A lot of quests shake down like that. And non-lethal or lethal didn't seem to matter, I'd go non lethal and get to the end and the mini boss wouldn't talk cause I massacred everyone, then I want stealth and he said the same thing, and then I used a non-lethal take down, and the dialogue later just said I killed him anyway. So it didn't seem to matter what I did. At most non lethal got you a little bonus from police gigs and some other things.

And even after all that, I still like it. It's just a bad game and fixing bugs won't change that. They need mechanic and quest updates to give more depth to the game and fix AI. The main story is good and the main characters are well done, if it was marketed as an on rails linear game like Deus Ex I would have liked it a lot better. Because with a good story with good cast it makes the flatness of everything else extremely obvious.

Could you imagine if Jensen had the pressing story to do, but he was fighting muggers and racing? That's how it feels with V, you're a god tier merc who is literally dying, and you're taking gigs to drive people around or checking in on a gang leaders neighbor or something.

I bought this game in November just to support CD Projekt Red so they could release a new Witcher later. However, I fell deeply in love with the game, because: 1) The quests are interesting, thoroughly designed and not trivial. The world around you is worth exploring and characters are all different. You always have to make different choices.
    2) I have never liked games with first-person view, but in Cyberpunk it gives you a deeper immersion into that new world and its atmosphere. 3) The soundtracks are great! (I really like them during battles) 4) The game controls are very convenient, even during the shooting it is easy to aim on PlayStation which I have never seen before. 5) They use strong language all the time and I love it!
    6) The graphics is amazing.
    7) I would love to buy it again to give it as a present to one of my friends. To sum it up, I want to say many thanks to the company for this masterpiece and also I am sure that the game is absolutely underestimated because of the bad start but it is fair rating should be about 8+.

Storia: a me è piaciuta molto, immersiva e profonda.
As usual PS4 players get scammed by the devs. All of the footage used to scam everyone into pre purchasing the game is high end PC footage. Lighting and textures in this game are terrible, Deus Ex Mankind Divided looks better and that was released in 2016. Switching guns, hands go into the position but it takes 3 or 4 seconds for the gun to appear. The game has been crashing my PS4 Pro

I can only hope that with the cash injection after launch they can afford to quickly sort the mess out before their reputation is ruined. And I genuinely hope for a No Mans Sky style turnaround, as the game clearly could’ve been great.

The game is amazing (on PC and next generation consoles). This is inexcusable. CD Projekt Red is an amazing studio and the tough, unpopular decision they should have made was to come clear and say: Cyberpunk 2077 will no longer be a last generation game. People would be crazy mad, but at least they would not be scammed. Or, at least, adapt the price. Sell it at a lower price. I don't know. The game is amazing (on PC and next generation consoles). What I do know is that players made tons of pre-orders without fully knowing what they were getting and this is beyond "hype train" bullsh*t. This is something else.

It is not fair for someone to buy a game at full price and not be able to enjoy this purchase. Especially during such tough times for the economy of most households. The truth is that Cyberpunk 2077 is a PS4/XONE game that cannot be played on those consoles. So if you purchased the game and do not have a next gen console then f*ck you. This is really not cool.

The way the game is running on last gen consoles is beyond ridiculous and I don't think there are enough patches to optimize a game for a hardware that just cannot live up to CDPR standards. Even if they patch it to exhaustion, the PS4/XONE ports will still be a mess.

Fans are disappointing with CDPR. And rightfully so.

Having said that, I can't recommend this game in its current state. The number of bugs, many of which have crashed the game for me, is simply unacceptable in an allegedly AAA title. The graphics are nothing special (though I understand there is a lot of pop-in and slow texture loading on the base PS4) and the sound requires a lot of tinkering in the settings menu to get to an acceptable level. I found myself cringing for my neighbor's sake when the game would inexplicably blast heavy bass in background music, enough to rattle furniture, despite other sound elements being at a normal level.

It's not all bad. The story is interesting, and the voice acting is good. The gameplay systems are fun, even though some of the RPG elements appear designed to force the player into crafting their character into a min-max archetype. Certain perks and abilities require that you invest heavily into their associated stat, which could be good or bad. You also contend with both experience points and "street cred" points, which is odd, considering that you typically get both in equal measure.

Having said that, some of the systems don't seem to have been fully fleshed out. There is a crafting system, but not much to craft. By the time you can afford decent crafting plans and materials, you will be finding gear that is as good or better than you can make. You can earn crafting xp, which grants various bonuses as you level up, but without a good reason to craft, it's just another number to watch increase. Tutorials could have also been better. I was several hours in before I realized that I had items I could slot into my various cyber implants.

Overall, I would usually say give this one a few months to get the bugs ironed out. However, this game has been in the making for years. That this is what they have to show for all those years of work does not create confidence that the devs will be able to polish this one to an acceptable level. If you must play it, wait a few months. I expect spring '21 will see this one at half price.

They KNEW the game ran wretchedly on base and "pro" versions of PS4/Xbox 1 and deliberately hid that fact from community with review embargo prior to launch....just to ensure that all us duped consolers were in the dark. They should have been honest and delayed console versions until the game could be optimized at least to some reasonable level (and don't tell me this is impossible given how fantastic games like Ghosts of Tsushima, RDR2, TLOU2 look on PS4!).....or simply canceled outright, if it was clear that the game would NEVER be able to run in a viable state on last gen consoles (this gen being PS5 and Xbox Series S/X)

Deliberately misleading consolers just to buff out your launch numbers is utterly pathetic. So far beneath what we expected from this developer. Way to go, CD PR! Way to toss in with all the other scummy publishers out there trolling the waters in the video game ocean. Now kindly piss off.

I launched Cyberpunk 2077 on my PS4 Slim several weeks after the release and most of the bugs were fixed, so I was able to play the game from start to finish. However, the quality of textures was painfully low, I usually had only 20-22 frames per second while driving around the city (with dips below 20), and some objects tended to disappear. The technical state and graphics of the PS4 version are awful, which is a shame, because the game itself has one of the best stories I have ever encountered, its gunplay is really good, and Night City is very impressive. Cyberpunk 2077 is a game brimming with potential, and it damn near reaches it on so many occasions, but the pitfalls of its development ultimately drag it down. There's still a lot to like here for RPG fans and lovers of the genre, but it's far from the generation-defining masterwork that the world was waiting for.
