If you like those things then this is for you. What definitely needs to be addressed is the bad optimization and bugs, this is definitely the case. Perhaps waiting for the official PS5 version will fix these issues. In terms of creatively this is an amazing game however they really need to optimize this game better. Expand

Stop complaining about the game, you can still get the refund, it is not like you lost any money. Wait until this game is better optimized and buy it again.
Scoring this game so low can cause CDP to be closed and you will never ever play good game from them.
Cyberpunk is good, get the refund and wait a bit more.

But beneath all those issues, Cyberpunk is a REALLY good game. Its excellent game world is filled with stuff to do, great characters and challenging missions.
Skill trees and skill progression is excellently done too.
Combat works well. Driving, less well. Hacking is excellently done all round, once you figure out how to use it best and what perks you want to unlock. Basic stealth is useless, tho, with even basic goons able to spot you thru solid walls, so you need to invest heavily in stealth skills if you want to do things quietly.
Crafting is excellent, and you can dismantle all loot into components and then use these components to craft new clothes, weps, items or ammo. Or use them to improve your fave weps and clothes. So, no need to throw away your fave t-shirt! Just upgrade it!
I've focused on hacking and crafting, and its working well. Upgraded weps are so powerful, you dont really need specialist combat skills to beat enemies with them.
Loot is everywhere in the game, so you'll be finding masses of stuff all the time. What you dont need, you can sell or dismantle.
Grinding is easy too. Map not only has masses of side missions, but also crime events. These events are mini missions where you just blast away few goons, and then loot all their stuff and intel. Great and fast way to get XP.
Smart thing about XP is that you get XP from everything you do, from crafting to shooting to hacking. And this levels up your skill sets. And then there's the overall XP which levels up your 'core'. Bit like Skyrim really, and it works swell.
So. If you can ignore visual glitches and sometimes rather drab looks, you are in for a treat. This is a very solid, and a huge game. I like it enough to give it 8/10 right now. And if they polish the looks and iron out all the bugs from the PS4Pro version, I'll up that to perfect ten.
Important note: I'm no fanboy. While I love Witcher 3, I've found it rather mainstream and dull compared to, say, Elex. So, this is no fanboy rant, this is unbiased opinion on this game. And I really hope CDProject keeps polishing the game, and ignores all those haters, so that the game can evolve into the masterpiece it can be.

Yes it's buggy at the moment. Often games of this size are. I have had no real issues. The content is great. I love just being able to do hours of side quests and forget about the main story and just get lost in the world. The game is slower paced, but this is to allow you to really connect with the characters and your own character. I'm loving it.

2020 has been a **** year for a lot of people and the COVID pandemic certainly hasn't helped things. For me, one of the few redeeming things of 2020 was going to be Cyberpunk 2077. Only it ended up being that partially. Thinking deeply about it over the couple days since it's launch is that it would have undoubtable benefited CDPR had they delayed the game until early 2021/early spring2020 has been a **** year for a lot of people and the COVID pandemic certainly hasn't helped things. Thinking deeply about it over the couple days since it's launch is that it would have undoubtable benefited CDPR had they delayed the game until early 2021/early spring when they announced the first delay. Certainly when they announced the most recent one.
I say that as CDPR fan and someone who is still absolutely loving their playthrough on the game. I am also playing on the PlayStation 5. While next gen still hasn't received the next gen update yet (early 2021), I have to believe that architecture of these next gen systems and PC's with more modern components are negating/curbing some of the issues that our fellow gamers contending with on current gen. We still face them, just not as bad or frequent. Can't speak for Series X, but I know PS5's ssd does a lot of work. Makes sense why CDPR recommended it in their specs.

Some will say "but it started and was marketed out as a current gen title!" and you'd be right, it was. I don't know how, but at some point in my opinion it clearly become something meant for next gen. Had CDPR been able to focus on PC and next gen systems, I feel CDPR would have met if not exceeded that bar that so many of us set. That's largely their fault though. They continued to market this game for all systems and lead us to believe that it was going run well on all systems. (surprisingly well on base model systems I think the CEO said) while only ever showing us (until the very end anyway) video of the game running on PC.
Can't blame anyone for getting upset for falling for that. Lord knows I did, but I again... I’m having a phenomenal time in spite of everything. I’m also on the PS5, a lot of people cant find those system or afford them or the components to upgrade their PCs though. I feel those people have the right to be upset more than anything.

If you can muddle through all the bugs, get the game its really enjoyable but only if your playing on something that at the very least has an SSD. CDPR will be patching this! It will improve! Otherwise wait... it’ll be worth it. So many great games out there were off to a bumpier start than this and now their wonderful games! For me Cyberpunk 2077 has such a wonderful story and that covers a multitudes of sins. The characters are wonderful and I am consistently thinking about them even when I am not playing. I get lost in the sounds and rumble of Night City. It’s music score is nothing short of amazing and I absolutely love all the different artist you can listen to while on your bike or car! When not plagued with issues, that gameplay is pretty awesome too. I actually found the gunplay to be enjoyable. I love the fact that I am getting better as I progress. My point is that the structure is there, its solid and built on a strong foundation. There’s work to do though and it falls upon us to push CDPR to give us the game they promised.

My console is PS4 slim and I'm playing since game release ~2-3 hours per day and games calls me to return again and again to its story, characters, gameplay.

In the very first day the graphics and performance on PS4 slim was much worse than after 1.04 patch and I consider it a very good job of gamedevs and I believe that they will go on with that.

I even noticed that if i load the game, if I don't move in the first second there is no problems with graphics until I move some time through the city. It looks like there is some occupied memory problems or smth like this. The game CAN look great on PS4 slim, I'm sure, there is just some work to do with the game.

What I liked about gameplay - it feels like some old school shooters like Duke Nukem 3D or Shadow Warrior that I liked very much, so I liked this gameplay too.

What I else liked in the game - its atmosphere, characters, the storyline. Some technical problems don't spoil all these aspects of the game.

This is my first review. I feel it’s necessary to give an honest opinion given the negativity surrounding the game and it’s release.

I am ~15 hours into the game.

The bad: Technical issues. Quest lines are frequently unplayable. Graphics are poor with frequent texturing issues and pop-in while driving. Framerate is too low, especially during combat. Elements of the world don’t feel full or realistic. Most NPCs are not interactive. AI can be dull.

The good: The story is top notch. You will feel like you’re watching a high quality movie with characters you really care about. Side quests are high quality and vary with individual storylines. The music is phenomenal. Combat is fun. Elements of the world are beautiful. The small details and easter eggs spread throughout are great.

I went into this game expecting close to what I received - a fun action RPG that presents a dark, interesting world to explore with rich characters. Having said that, I’m highly disappointed with the technical issues and believe it should have never launched in its current state. I’m confident that CDPR will release continued patches to make this game more stable on the base PS4. There is some serious work to be done to get it to the point where people will be able to enjoy what is underlying. It’s a shame it was released prematurely because it’s detracting from the core of the game, which is special and unlike anything else I’ve played.

    Story : 10/10
    Combat : 8/10
    World : 8/10
    Driving : 7/10
    Technical: 5/10

Overall: 8/10 (until technical issues are resolved - including rebuilding of some systems including AI - then potential 10/10 masterpiece).

Played the game for more than 15 hours now, and all I can say, it’s exactly what I had in mind.
The storyline is well written and immersive, characters feel unique, many things to do explore, never feels repetitive, overall great game.
Few bugs here and there, with graphics not as good as next gen consoles or high end PCs but that was expected. 9/10

Some words for those of you who read biased, unfair and deceptive REVIEWS MADE BY HATERS: don't judge the game by its hype and unreal expectations. It's an open world RPG and what it means is you need to upgrade your hardware! If you barely meet minimum requirements, at least try to keep your system clean and your drivers updated!
I believe that such a great studio as CDPROJEKT RED won't leave Cyberpunk at its current, a bit too early version. Be patient and just wait for the patch (PATCH 1.04 available).

I can understand the dissapointment, but Cyberpunk is not unplayable and is a lot of fun.

What i really feel is missing, is population density in night city, the city feels dead and like a slum in every district, more of a ghost town tbh.

And some few bugs need fixing too. And i understand in times of cyberware where you are connected to all the people with your implants, why you would have hivemind, but especially when trying to go stealth 1 dude seeing you making every person on every floor of a building target you is really annoying.

Even back in the day I thought some people were easily overreacting about some of the alleged problems this game was supposed to be overloaded with. Now, I'm not saying the were not existent in the game, but i myself haven't come across a huge range of them. Game crashed twice in the 70 hour run I had with this title, which is still more than it ever should (and than any other game besides Fallout 76 did), but it wasn't THAT bad. A few graphical glitches here and there and an AWFUL framerate when driving through city's centre with lots of texture pop-in, I can't deny that. But none of that was a problem for me as I was so drawn into the story of the game. To be honest, there are only a few other titles I had this much fun with. Gameplay was great, I didn't feel bored once all this time and I couldn't imagine it being any better. Many people told themselves that Cyberpunk 2077 was going to be messiah of gaming, a true competitor to franchises such as Grand Theft Auto, Fallout and much more. In their minds, it was supposed to not only be a great story, but also an adventure filled with police chases, night life and all of that jazz. I, on the other hand, had never thought of Cyberpunk in these regards and that might be the reason why I love it so much. The story is captivating, there was so much thought put into creation of the world, the gameplay feels just so... right, and the visuals can be stunning on newer hardware. It's simply unbelievable how bad of a reputation this game got because of the technical shape it was released in. 8/10 on PS4/Xbox One, but easily 10/10 on next-gen consoles. Expand

This game has the foundation to be a masterpiece. Anyone citing combat, driving, or story as a reason for their negative review is lying. They can absolutely have a gripe about the capability of this game with base PS4/Xbone. CDPR screwed up by not making this exclusive to next-gen and PC.

Aside from that, if you have a PS pro, Xbox One X, PS5 or Highend PC, then this game is absolutely worth the current price of 49 bucks at many retailers. The gameplay is a blast, the story pulls you in, and no two side quests are exactly the same. This is very similar to RDR in that the side quests are a blast and they integrate into the broader story without the feeling of completely becoming undetected to the main story.

The only issue I have seen on PS5 is after 2-3 hours of game play, I have experienced software crashes bringing me back to the home screen. No data loss as the game autosaves about every 90 seconds. CDPR hasnt given me reason to believe they wont fix these issues, but where they did screw up as previously mentioned was even allowing this title to be available on base current gen consoles (at least not without a HUGE warning).

Great game, great framework for future DLC, murky attempt to stick the landing but they will get there. This is not a game that lacks ANY content (ie Fallout 76 / No Man Sky). it is there. If you have a base console, maybe wait a few months, but dont give up on this.

I started playing this on v1.02 on PS4 and I can say I haven't had nearly as many issues as most. So to me it's a brilliant game. Incredible story, beautiful world, solid gameplay and RPG mechanics that reminds me a lot of Skyrim. The framerate drop in the open world is definitely the worst problem, but again this hasn't been too bad for me. If I played this on a regular PS4, I would definitely be giving this a lower score. But really, it's a lot better if you play on PS5. It's less glitchy, and I was able to get more out of it with it's interesting story and cool characters. It's still not perfect. But nearly a year after launch, it's certainly stepped up a bit.

Great game... PS4 Pro plays it fairly well. Probably should've been a PS5 launch title though. Or, maybe scale the population density a bit to improve performance on the older systems...no reason to have to 50 unique non interactive NPCs at the cost of decent frame rates. Patches will definitely improve this game and it will be excellent on next gen

On my PS4 Pro it's been a 9 but on ther people's regular PS4's it's a 3. I'm sad that soooo many issues exist but I can say my experience has been great overall and I love the game. Yes it has issues but God damn its a good.

    Played on PS5:

The beginning of the game is extremely slow and boring. I was really worried this game wouldn't live up to the hype and just be a dialogue fest. However, the game slowly picks up and the combat is pretty enjoyable. It has a good mix of SMG, AR, Pistols, and Melee weapons. The graphics are also very nice on PS5. Nothing too crazy but seeing the city is a sight to behold.

Some problems with the game come from the story and the loot. There is way too much dialogue and way too much loot. It makes the game feel like it has no action aside from a few moments where you need to kill people. Another problem are the constant crashes that occur for no reason. Out of my 20 hours of playtime, I crashed about 10 times or more.

Aside from all the negatives, I am addicted to this game. There is a lot to do and many missions to pursue. I understand that on PS4, this game is horrible. If you have a PS5, I highly recommend buying this game or at least waiting a few months for bug fixes. Do not skip on this game because it truly has something great to offer.

Just like the witcher 3 at its lunch, needs more fixing but I have faith is CDPR. The game overall is great and will be way more by time. Waiting for the PS5 version of it and I'm sure it'll be one of the greatest experiences I've ever had.

Yes it crashes every 8-10 hours, yes there are graphical glitches like parked cars being partially in the scenery, but this doesn't stop the game being a huge amount of fun!

Если играть в киберпанк на пс5, то это прекрасная игра, графика, фпс на уровне, да, есть баги, но сюжет и персонажи в этой игре просто крутяк, но это ТОЛЬКО для игры на PS5.

Yes, it's buggy and has glitches, and it looks kinda bad, with not as many people on the street, but what do you expect on an 7 year old console. Yes, they deserve some backlash for this, but the story is amazing. Amazingly writen characters that make you like them or hate them right away, multiple layers when it comes to character development. TONS of **** loot. Boobs, muffs and dicks

Apart from a few visual and non breaking bugs, the game is honestly great. The visuals, gameplay and immersion are all great and I've already managed to sink 60+ hours without even being halfway through the story. Definitely a game worth spending your time and money on!

I’m playing on PS5, what is offering me a really nice experience so far. Of course I’d wished to me a little more rpg elements here and there. Or growing hair, little survival elements here and there etc, but that’s just personal taste. I like immersive stuff like this but I know a lot of players probably don’t, they rather expect a smooth tripe A experience. Playing on PS5 and I am loving the game. Would be a 10 but the game crashes every couple of hours. The story is gripping, side quests add character depth and unlike most games this size they don’t feel overly repetitive.

I rated it 8. The game has a lot of flaws and technical problems on PS4, but one thing CD Project Red does that NO other developer does.
They reimbursed the digital and physical media.
A game that was made for the new generation (PS5, Series X, RTX). Never that it will run 100% on a PS4 and Xbox One. Besides, they are complaining about the graphic comparison of PS4 with PS5, but nobody

For example, dumping your points into cool will allow you to make an awesome stealth build, or if you dump your points into power, you can become a melee monster.its totally your choice. Elements like crafting and armor take a while to get to, so I don't have a ton of experience with them, but what I have seen is promising.
The world is perfect. You can tell a lot of love was put into Night City and I can't stop appreciating it. Sometimes I will pull my car over and just look around at everything because there is just so much. In fact, at first this was a negative for me, I felt overwhelmed, but I grew accustomed to it pretty quick and now I love it.
The story is a little slow to take off but once you get through that prologue, man you become invested. I have stayed up until 3 a.m. because I wanted to play more. The only gripe with the story so far is I wish the life path intros were longer. I only played the Nomad one so far, but I think it was maybe an hour or less long then I was just hanging with Jackie. But being a nomad still gives me dialogue options, it generally changes how my character sees night city and that is definitely something I like.
And finally, the bugs, which is why everyone is dumping on the game (after literally sending CDPR death threats for the last delay so do what you will with that info.)I am happy to say that after patch 1.04, the bugs have been massively improved. Before this patch, I had experienced a few crashes, frequent texture issues, a couple characters mouths wouldn't move and a few cars were half sunken into the ground. I really didn't have any frame rate issues at all so I can't speak to that, but the rest of the issues I have have disappeared with the patch. After the patch I experienced a glitch some would call game breaking, where I got hit by a big enemy and was sent into a wall. Like glitches into it. I couldn't take damage, but I could kill people. I could also dodge jump and slide in place and gain unlimited xp for it. To fix this horrible, game breaking, unacceptable bug, I just reloaded my save from thirty seconds earlier. Not a problem at all. In short, criticism of the bugs is valid and should be addressed byt it absolutely does not warrant the terrible scores I see here. If bugs are going to ruin the game for you, then don't buy it. But if you're practical and know they will be fixed almost daily until the game runs like butter, then pick up the game and start having fun. It's an absolute blast, one of the best games I have played. Fix the bugs CDPR, and this review goes to a perfect 10/10.

Playing on ps5 the backward compatible ps4 ver. There are bugs, but none of them spoil the fun for me. I like the game overall and I'm sad to see the amount of cyberbulling the authors get. I would like more life in the city, more interactive features, better driving and car customisation. But the game still great. Waiting for fixes, add-ons and dlcs to make it better. Hold on guys.

I’m playing cyberpunk on PC & PS4 slim right now to check if the differences and the graphics downgrades. PS4 slim is an old hardware but it gave me an amazing graphics playing God of War, the last of us 2, Red dead redemption 2 and cyberpunk 2077 now. I wish players can try to understand that this game is to much on old hardwares and CD project Red will fix this problems ASAP.

Cyberpunk is a great game, you just have to see past the bugs and disapointing graphics. I know its really hard to do that, I had dificulties with it the day the game came out. But if you can manage to put these disapointing elements aside the game is really cool.

I launched Cyberpunk 2077 on my PS4 Slim several weeks after the release and most of the bugs were fixed, so I was able to play the game from start to finish. However, the quality of textures was painfully low, I usually had only 20-22 frames per second while driving around the city (with dips below 20), and some objects tended to disappear. The technical state and graphics of the PS4 version are awful, which is a shame, because the game itself has one of the best stories I have ever encountered, its gunplay is really good, and Night City is very impressive. Cyberpunk 2077 is a game brimming with potential, and it damn near reaches it on so many occasions, but the pitfalls of its development ultimately drag it down. There's still a lot to like here for RPG fans and lovers of the genre, but it's far from the generation-defining masterwork that the world was waiting for.
