Die-hard fans of Control are certain to enjoy their time with The Foundation but anyone who found the core gameplay experience frustrating, either mechanically or technically, will find very little incentive to return.

The Foundation will keep you busy for a few hours, but in the end, the side-quests are the best part about it, which is sad. I didn’t care for the new powers as they just made the glaring copy and paste environments more apparent. However, if you enjoyed the gameplay and battles from the base game, you’ll get that here, with even less direction.

The Foundation provides a decent amount of great content and expands on the base game's fantastic core in interesting, albeit safe, ways.

The Foundation isn’t the studio’s greatest work, but it’s hardly a miserable experience. This expansion reminded me of the Xbox 360 era of midtier shooters: not bad, but not ambitious. Playable, but also — and sadly — forgettable.

The Foundation is a nice addition to the Control-verse, clocking in around 4-5 hours to complete. It’s not doing anything groundbreaking, but it is more of the same, which is a damn good thing in Control’s case. Yes, it would have been nicer for the missions to have been a bit more dynamic, but the world-building and the storytelling continue to be one of Control’s major selling points. With the next expansion set to expand the lore even further with connections to Alan Wake, it feels like Remedy is in it for the long haul.

Without giving spoilers it has good replayability. Very well thought out DLC that balances new content with out sacrificing the feel of the game Full Review »

An unnecessary story, with nothing new or anything to add. Not to mention the behavior of Jesse who was extremely weird and unlikeable in this DLC. She looked like a child playing at being boss on some occasions. The only thing that this DLC added were new Mods and several uninteresting documents and audiences. Full Review »
