In the beginning it looked like it would be good, but in the end I realized I was wrong. An unnecessary story, with nothing new or anything to add. Not to mention the behavior of Jesse who was extremely weird and unlikeable in this DLC. She looked like a child playing at being boss on some occasions. I was happy about the DLC but in reality I dropped it after 2h more or less.

Если понравился оригинал и хочется еще, можно смело брать, не разочарует. Плюс еще один этаж для исследования, несколько свежих механик, врагов и секретов. Новый сеттинг пещер.

The new types of mods, level 6 mods, and new skills add more to the game while still retaining the games feel. Really good flow from base game through DLC. Without giving spoilers it has good replayability. Very well thought out DLC that balances new content with out sacrificing the feel of the game

Are those 6 negative review-less ratings coming from Xbox players upset about the delayed launch on their platform?

The Foundation is an excellent expansion. The Foundation itself is an exciting setting to be explored, is visually distinct from other levels and comparable in size and intricacy to them. The base plot continues the main game expertly, putting into question the affiliation of some characters and teasing what the second DLC or the sequel may be about. The Foundation holds its fair share of secrets, much like the rest of the Oldest House, so the expansion still retains the thick atmosphere of mystery and intrigue that I loved Control for. Gameplay-wise it's mostly more of the same, but a couple new enemy types and powers, as well as level 6 mods and new mod types are a welcome addition. Also, the cleansing of the video camera altered item is one of the best side missions in the entire game.

The minor gripes also mostly remain the same as in the main game. It still stutters visibly when exiting the pause menu on the base PS4, and the frame rate drops occasionally during heavy firefights. Remedy fixed the map loading speed and tried to clean it up a bit, but because of complex vertical levels navigation using the flat 2D map can still be a nuisance. Also, the new power is limited in use to the Foundation area and pre-defined points on the arenas, which is a letdown, as it'd be more fun if the player was allowed to freely spawn the crystals wherever they'd point. Finally, you can spawn an FBC ranger to aid you in a few fixed points in the sector, which sounds cool, but the ranger fights VERY poorly, barely even firing his gun, which can get frustrating, as one of the new trophies is linked to the number of enemies such NPC has to kill.

Still, Control was my GOTY 2019, and its first DLC is so far the best gaming experience I've had in 2020. Eagerly looking forward to AWE and the potential sequel.

The Foundation DLC is a lot of fun, but feels pretty same-y to the base game. It doesn't really introduce anything super surprising story-wise (except finally resolving the question of fate for one of the base game's supporting characters). It feels like this was a fun segue into what's hopefully an incredible conclusion with the final DLC: "AWE". Very excited to see what's in store.

For a DLC you really got to give credit to it how good it was. Can't wait for the next one and more answers!

Played this DLC after completing the main game. It felt a little unnecessary. Probably better if played between the main chapters.

    Serviceable, but not great.

    Pros:
+ Vertical levels that allow to use levitate a lot

    Cons:
    - The unresponsiveness of Jesse kills the fun of platforming
    - Bugs, bugs, new bugs
    - Puzzle design is not tested enough. E.g. I was able to get out of the chasm w/o the TV and it didn't count.

The Foundation is a good addition for those who liked the main game. DLC reveals more information about the lore of the game, opens a new large location, which is coordinate different from the locations from the original. Gameplay is the same, giving only 2 new abilities. DLC for 10 hours. And here really cool secondary missions, looking for maneki-neko that is still a mystery.

Don’t even bother with The Foundation DLC, what a waste of time unless you’re trying to get Platinum and need a few more missions to get the skill points. At the end of the whole DLC, you’ll be asking what was the point? And guess what, there wasn’t one, nothing gets accomplished, you feel even more cheated out of possible story. It acts like it’s supposed to explain who the Board and Former are but never does. And then tries to hint at a sequel! Oh please god no!

What was weird with The Foundation was it truly felt like they called the voice actors in a few months later and didn’t give any direction. Jesse now sounds totally fake peppy and is trying to crack the weirdest jokes, not to mention the horrid objective exposition spew she does after you receive a mission. Jesse is so cringey in this DLC, constantly saying things like “I’m the Director.” or “I’m going to change how the Bureau runs.” What? First she doesn’t know how the Bureau runs to begin with, how can she make it better? And she also went from I’m better at being a janitor to of course I’m in charge? What? It was so unnatural and I really disliked her in this DLC.

Gameplay, it’s still the same game except instead of endless office corridors you get endless cave corridors! Do not bother with this DLC, it has even less story wrap up than the actual game.

Хорошее дополнение, новые локации вызывали ВАУ эффект. История и милофогия - увлекали как основной сюжет.

Скучно, уныло, относительно основной игры просто кошмар, очень проходное дополнение, не советую тратить время

I enjoyed a lot of my time with The Foundation, but I'm left wondering how much of a lasting impact it'll have on the Control universe as a whole. It felt more like an entertaining distraction than a large step forward, but I had no problem eating up all the lore, info and strange encounters I could find. If you're a fan of the game and thought it was one of the best games of 2019, you'll see that poking around in the underbelly of the Oldest House is well worth the time.

The first DLC of control adds more value to the package by adding new gameplay mechanics and telling a different aspect of Oldest House story.

If you found yourself turning over every stone in Control, The Foundation DLC will reward you with answers and new questions alike.
