    Singleplayer. Wow, what an experience! You start with literally nothing but your underwear. In the process of the game, you get better and better until your are a real badass. Extremely satisfying. In the end you will have storage chests full of legendary weapons and the best armor. But until then, you have to overcome some hardships. It will take you at least 200 hours if you want toSingleplayer. Wow, what an experience! You start with literally nothing but your underwear.     Overall, it is an excellent game, no question!

    Pros
    - Amazing landscape with breathtaking views
    - Graphics and animations are top notch
    - Good combat (weighty, powerful, satisfying)
    - Extremely good crafting and building system. Super complex, hundreds of materials and objects
    - Very good music
    - Climbing is super fun, you can climb everything
    - Horse riding is excellent

    Cons
    - Some smaller bugs, i.e. elephants walking in the sky, things like that
    - Fast Travel is only one-way (therefore, build map rooms)
    - The grind (default settings) is on the border of insanity. But it is possible. I did it.
    - For endgame, you need very special armor against heat AND cold which is hard to get (get the Redeemed Silent Legion, please)
    - No map available in dungeons
    - If you die in Dungeons that have locked doors, you have no chance to recover your stuff because you are naked
    - „The Purge“ is a stupid mechanic which lets waves of enemies destroy your base and materials for which you grinded hundeds of hours Turn it off!    … Expand

    Conan Exiles offers a decent survival experience with its vast open world and crafting mechanics. The inclusion of the Conan the Barbarian theme adds some excitement, but the game falls short in terms of overall depth and polish. While it can be enjoyable for fans of the genre, it lacks innovation and fails to truly stand out among other survival titles.

    I read a lot of the negative reviews and was confused at what they were saying. Conan is possibly the best survival game on console. If you don't like PVP then you can play PVE. If you don't want to play with others, then you can play on your own.

    Painfully bad game. The developers put zero effort into making it. The only reason why i installed it was because it was free with PS+ which is also the game that made me cancel my subscription.

    I start the game, i start walking into the desert and then i die... No proper explanation, no proper introduction, no proper tutorial, nothing.     The game gives you the opportunity to play among a bunch of players and the game is not ugly to look at. This game gave me the experience of playing on a survival server with a bunch of strangers who could decided at any moment to cut me down for no reason.

    Pay $150 for all the DLC, then they decide that isn't enough and start charging $200/year for the same amount of content as previously $40/year in DLCs, but wait there's more, now there's $40/year in FOMO battle passes as well.

    Almost $240/year to play a game that is riddled with bugs. Awesome

    So as you probably know, the game is in an horrendous state right now. There are just so many bugs that you have to worry about and adapt to its hard to focus on actually playing the game.
    It stars with ressources disappearing after the first strike with a pickaxe and reappearing after 1min (it also seems to help to take a look at the map [which takes about 15 sec because the menu takes    So as you probably know, the game is in an horrendous state right now.     It stars with ressources disappearing after the first strike with a pickaxe and reappearing after 1min (it also seems to help to take a look at the map [which takes about 15 sec because the menu takes ages to load and makes the game freeze {which is dangerous}]) and it ends with enemies being invisible or seemingly walking against a wall just to kill you out of nowhere.
    Some more bugs you hopefully know about already:
    -Thralls are just one big bug. They hover the earth in T-pose, dont attack enemies, dont teleport to your location while on the other half of the map, additionally they get stuck freaking everywhere, still dropping under the mesh while fighting dragons/rhinos and once my thrall tried to return home from inside a vault (goblinoids) for 14 hours and it probably was the server restart that unbugged him.
    -Other players (!) and their thralls being invisible. Its like a cheat on PvP.
    -Bases and textures taking forever to load in. This is not just a cosmetical issue as it makes you unable to enter your own base.
    -Elephants spawning on my foundations.
    -Weapons/Tools cant be equipped. The character seems to hold something invisible in the hands but its unuseable until you can see it. Takes on average a minute to fix itself. Seems to be happening more often in vaults but is not limited to them. You probably see all the gamebreaking problems with this.
    -Huge fps drops in the maelstrom.
    -The notoriously long loading screens.
    -Dieying as you log into your server/appear on the map.
    -Inventories not loading up completely which makes you check everythings name (this is not quality of life as i imagine)
    -Textures not loading in so the world looks like Crom sliced it with a massive sword. (Clean cuts of every texture so it looks like you reached the end of the world and are about to fall off.)
    -I probably missed some more, i might edit them in as i remember. THERE ARE JUST TOO MANY.
    Most of these were non existent or atleast acceptable before the Siptah-Release. Since then your game is just a pile of sh… i mean your game is like a challenge for who can adapt to your gamebreaking bugs the best.
    And what is the worst part about all of this: we, your players, feel left out. There is no communication on your current state of fixing these. Not even a post saying you recognize all these bugs and are aware of the bad quality right now. Honestly i think its a disgrace how you trait your (PS-)community.
    Atleast communicate with us, give us updates on the status of your progress with resolving these bugs.

    Verdict: the game is really enjoyable for a while, the adventuring, building, surviving part truly works, but if you have a standard for skill involved fighting and need for challenges, then you are going to be sick with the fighting system eventually.

    Pros explained: the game has a nice atmosphere, exciting changing music, cool places to explore, and you can build our camp / bases almost anywhere, interesting crafting system (involves a fair bit of grinding materials though).

    Cons explained: for casual players it is probably gonna be fine, you go there with your big sword and armor, hit the bosses while they hitting you and you win eventually. YEAH! you ARE the man! But for those who ever played sg like Nioh or Dark Souls, the fighting system is going to be truly painful for sure. The skill level involved is pretty low, and the fights are mostly stat checks. The 'lock on' system is truly terrible. If you lock on someone, you basically loose all of your mobility, you start to move with really slow speed, and also you loose your lock if you start to dodge sideways too much. So you cant do sg like lock on a boss, circleling around them, with clever dodges, while slowly waring them down. Also hits are really inconsistent. Worst of all it is inconsistent if your hits land or not often even if you are literally in the face of a giant beast. I already talked about the **** lock on system but the other bad part is, that if you not lock the target, you miss your hits like 70%. All in all: the bosses and fights were designed in zerging online players or at least you and a strong thrall / pet who just tank all the hits, in mind, and sadly there is no room for compensate for the lack of thoose with skill and careful experimentation.    … Expand

    This game runs terrible on console, it stutters every 20 seconds for seconds, graphics are really weak even on ps5. It’s terrible and not playable. Don’t buy it!

    A game with a lot of promise, but ultimately boring execution. Really only worth it for the most hardcore Conan or survival sandbox fans.

    I loved the first few hours - surviving in a harsh desert, learning to build, discovering weirdo creatures to fight. But combat quickly becomes stale, there isn't much of a story to speak of, and building materials vary in color and design but not    A game with a lot of promise, but ultimately boring execution. Really only worth it for the most hardcore Conan or survival sandbox fans.

    I loved the first few hours - surviving in a harsh desert, learning to build, discovering weirdo creatures to fight. But combat quickly becomes stale, there isn't much of a story to speak of, and building materials vary in color and design but not really functionality. So after I had built a decent home and seen a quarter of the map, I didn't feel at all compelled to keep going.

    Oh and it's worth mentioning that the UI and crafting systems are pretty difficult to manage, and the learning curve is steep.

    In my opinion, if you're looking for something like this, Ark is a much better use of your money. Ark doesn't have much of a story either, but the dinosaur and crafting variety in that game gives you much more to look forward to, and much more reason to carry on.    … Expand

    I did not quite understand which "genius" came up with the idea to add a “cleaning” to the game.
    It was looks like ..
    I crossed at half a map to find a good place without unexpected neighborhood and with a lot of resources for development. I just completed a wonderful two-story house where I was planned to place a workshop, but suddenly came two dozen soldiers who killed my hero. When I re-spawned and returned, I saw a picture of how these twenty freaks are breaking everything what I built, with shouting: "Get out, foreigner!"
    I see no reason to waste a time on this "Groundhog Day" anymore.

    Awesome game. Loads of customization, good, immersive and varied combat, a plethora of animals, monsters, creatures and gorgeous environments and finally an amazing epic soundtrack. 10/10.

While it's a beautiful game, after a year of playing, it still has many bugs to be fixed, such as the flying carcasses once you kill them, and getting stuck in my base because of my follower. And for god's sake REMOVE THE PURGE!!! I deleted the game because of the purge, as I spent DAYS building a base only for it to be demolished by these purges. I have a full timeWould not recommend it. I was looking for a game to enjoy, not to get slapped in the face by. Not to mention you loose all your stuff once you die.     Funcom games are also in general extremely buggy but every game does has its unique flavor. Its just that the company is too horrible that I can't recommend any of their games.     Easily one of the best games I've ever played, certainly from the perspective of immersion. I disappear into this world for extended periods and completely lose track of time. I honestly haven't had this experience with a game for a very, very long time, despite sinking a fair amount of time into PS4 games such as Last of us, God of war, Doom 2016 etc, and a lot of time into Diablo III andEasily one of the best games I've ever played, certainly from the perspective of immersion. I disappear into this world for extended periods and completely lose track of time. I honestly haven't had this experience with a game for a very, very long time, despite sinking a fair amount of time into PS4 games such as Last of us, God of war, Doom 2016 etc, and a lot of time into Diablo III and CS:GO on PC. Admittedly I am particularly fond of sandbox experiences in general, which definitely wouldn't be for some people.

    I am playing this offline as I'm not that interested in PvP or having to worry about having my base destroyed given that I spend so much of my in game time building it; something that I have fallen in love with :) Overall the building experience is intuitive, quite nuanced and flexible enough to allow you to create almost anything you can dream up. Complimenting the building system nicely, the Thrall system works quite well as a mechanic, and adds a lot of life and form to the game but does need some more love from the devs imo to really shine.

    NPCs are genuinely challenging, and the world is a real $#*! to survive in, leading to a nice balance between adventuring and building, crafting and upskilling. It's really nice to go out on a challenging mission and then come and spend a few hours at base just crafting, building, adding placeables, and getting ready for the next adventure.

    The other really big upside for me is that the game looks gorgeous with beautiful (occasionally breathtaking) environments, weather systems, equipment, building components an so on.

    There are definitely some things I would love to see the developers add and improve though, despite not being essential:

    1. Giving more life to thralls... The ability to have them roam around (perhaps on a day / night schedule), sit down to eat, congregate, get drunk etc. The base is so integral to the experience of the game that making it seem more authentic from that perspective will go a long way. Being able to interact with them, change outfits for working Thralls etc would all be welcome

    2. Better menu systems for moving through items on crafting stations... Perhaps some listed filters rather than toggle filtering, as it can be hard to interact with on PS4

    3. Caravans as an extension to the exciting new mounts system, allowing us to move a decent chunk of gear across map, allowing us to explore further and more deeply without having to build new bases

    4. Jewels, artefacts, money, and with all that the ability to purchase from or trade with NPCs... More of a focus on treasure type items and mechanics would bring this game dangerously close to feeling like a Diablo RPG

    5. Boats, fishing and agriculture for survival... A real system that takes time and allows us to build a bigger community base

    First the developers don't care at all about their players. You can be a loyal player playing for months or years and the devs will make changes on the server with NO in game warning, or console message, that will delete ALL of you work, not some... everything you've been doing for over a year, period. You can be a loyal player playing for months or years and the devs will make changes on the server with NO in game warning, or console message, that will delete ALL of you work, not some... everything you've been doing for over a year, period.

    This has happen to me twice, because I was foolish enough to think they changed and give them another chance. Hours, days, months, years of work and time gone after an update, with no way to recover it at all. That is wholly unreasonable for ANY product.

    Then before that there are many bugs that make you lose hours to months of work anyway. The devs have added many unnecessary time sinks, and they are placed on top of things that may be bugged. For example in order to craft a certain item you need ONE and only ONE specific thrall. There may be only 1 or 2 thralls out of 50 that spawn every 16 minutes at 5 locations. So that's 6 chances every 16 minutes running to 5 different places minutes apart hoping the right ONE out of FIFTY will spawn. As the spawn is random and often repeating the same wrong ones this can take literally real world months running back and forth to all these locations and you may NEVER get that one thrall spawn.

    BUT WORSE... if it does finally spawn after however long it may disappear due to a bug wasting months of your life. If you want that item, then you need to do it all again unless you're smart enough to give up on this ludicrous game.

    All that is ignoring the fact that the DLC is exorbitantly priced AND even after you buy it you can not use it unless you put in hours more work because it's only high level items. They could have easily added low level items but chose not to, so of you are not some hard core player or if you simply don't have time, well you paid for nothing.

    I will literally never by another Funcom game ever again, I wish I could return this garbage. I don't care what game they may make in the future this company can not be supported. Any company that has this little concern about their players or care of the quality of their product shouldn't even be in business.    … Expand

    Wonderful game. Open World sandbox MMORPG done right: has a huge variety of areas, buildings, quests, equipment, weapons, milestones, pets, NPCs and more. I guess at first, only with the desert area, it must have felt just like another clunky and limited sandbox mmo - but the devs kept adding upgrades after upgrades and the game grew to be a fantastic one.

    It's a pretty fun survival game to play online with friends or fight against other players & it's also a fun survival game to play offline too, As it has a really interesting world to dive into, with many challenges, as well as adventures to be had

    Ultimately Conan Exiles is a slow paced game with no quick pay offs. It provides a sense of wonder with its locations and the things that populate them. There is danger in the persistent online world which adds to the need to log on often to keep an eye on things. If you are not prepared to put the hours in, this is a title that is better left alone.

    Conan Exiles is one of the most disappointing games I have played this generation. I have not experienced another game on PlayStation 4 as broken as Exiles. It is hard to believe that a game could be released for purchase in such bad condition. In another genre, the bugs in Exiles might be fun or amusing. In a survival game, they are crippling. Gamers deserve, and should demand, better.
