This really brings back the feel of the first few weeks on a Minecraft server when the world was young and new and you start building your home in the wild.
Of course this world has much more to explore, but can't change the terrain as much, because most of tye world is fixed, like in reality.
The PS4 controls are a bit quirky and I needed some time to get used to it, but since it's an PC port and they are still working on it with a relativly small team compared to mighty Bungie, I can wait for the interface to get better. The fights are very much like in Dark Souls. You can die easily, if your timing is off. This is not for button smashers. This is a game for people who enjoy the virtual brutallity of bloody fights and enslavement. (It's for you Trump! ;)
The PS4 servers work fine and despite some lag sometimes and quirks it plays good so far. Sadly when people leave the server forever, their buildings evaporate, but their Thralls aka slaves are hanging in the air still doing their thing. So yeah, there is still work to do for Funcom.
The whole canibalism thing is gross, but that's what bad guys do? They eat others for breakfest. I always get rid of those canibals and get rid of their disgusting body parts too.
This game isn't for the faint of heart and I guess a MP game with friends will be the killer! Literally.
All in all 30€ well spent. Compared to the last Destiny 2 DLC this game truly is a game and not just grind for weapons you don't need in the end. In Conans world, you grind to acomplishe a task that feels real aka CONQUER A WORLD!

Graphically it's pretty beautiful, there's lots of interesting locations to visit, enemies to encounter (though the AI Tends to fall on the dumb side) and critters to main. The dungeons are pretty cool to explore too. All in all, upon release the game is significantly better than I thought it would be from my initial EA impressions over a year ago. Solid survival game, one of the best releases in recent history as well. Give it a try!

It stars with ressources disappearing after the first strike with a pickaxe and reappearing after 1min (it also seems to help to take a look at the map [which takes about 15 sec because the menu takes ages to load and makes the game freeze {which is dangerous}]) and it ends with enemies being invisible or seemingly walking against a wall just to kill you out of nowhere.
Some more bugs you hopefully know about already:
-Thralls are just one big bug. They hover the earth in T-pose, dont attack enemies, dont teleport to your location while on the other half of the map, additionally they get stuck freaking everywhere, still dropping under the mesh while fighting dragons/rhinos and once my thrall tried to return home from inside a vault (goblinoids) for 14 hours and it probably was the server restart that unbugged him.
-Other players (!) and their thralls being invisible. Its like a cheat on PvP.
-Bases and textures taking forever to load in. This is not just a cosmetical issue as it makes you unable to enter your own base.
    -Elephants spawning on my foundations.
-Weapons/Tools cant be equipped. The character seems to hold something invisible in the hands but its unuseable until you can see it. Takes on average a minute to fix itself. Seems to be happening more often in vaults but is not limited to them. You probably see all the gamebreaking problems with this.
-Huge fps drops in the maelstrom.
    -The notoriously long loading screens.
-Dieying as you log into your server/appear on the map.
-Inventories not loading up completely which makes you check everythings name (this is not quality of life as i imagine)
-Textures not loading in so the world looks like Crom sliced it with a massive sword. (Clean cuts of every texture so it looks like you reached the end of the world and are about to fall off.)
-I probably missed some more, i might edit them in as i remember. THERE ARE JUST TOO MANY.
Most of these were non existent or atleast acceptable before the Siptah-Release. Since then your game is just a pile of sh… i mean your game is like a challenge for who can adapt to your gamebreaking bugs the best.
And what is the worst part about all of this: we, your players, feel left out. There is no communication on your current state of fixing these. Not even a post saying you recognize all these bugs and are aware of the bad quality right now. Honestly i think its a disgrace how you trait your (PS-)community.
Atleast communicate with us, give us updates on the status of your progress with resolving these bugs.
    Pretty please?

So you set off into this world to simply survive.
This is a survival game, and one that I found to actually feel unique.
The survival aspects of this game can be described by saying it’s a simple mess..
this is all about recourse gathering and then combinging recourses to create new items…
and I love how easy it is to find simple food like bugs and materials..
your basic survival needs are extremely accessable and its up to you to take those basics and explore the lands, leveling up and working your way towards better items..
You can choose to play this game like a mincearft where youre creating shelter and use it as a base, going out to gather items and come back…
This is made easy thanks to this game not being some procedurally generated garbage…
this is a beautifully hand crafted map with secrets caves, caverns, and bosses to encounter..
reminding me a bit of skyrim at times..
a survival based skyrim game.. sounds great doesn’t it?
    on paper yes..
But again this game is just a mess..
Theres just too much going on here under the hood, not enarly as much as a game like ark.. but I stil found it all to be overwhelming..
I felt leveling up and earning points to dump into my stats and unlock new items to craft was frequent enough to keep the game feeling rewarding as id play
but the crafting menus and recourses needed to craft certain items just felt like too much work to me..
itsn ot like a Minecraft where things are as simple as knowing you need a certain material, go to a biodome on rare occasions where a certain material is found, farm a little until you get what you need and come back..
m,aterials for tools weapons and gear beyonds the basic are too spread out
    theres just too much…
too much in variety of things to collect.. and too much space between them all
im a huge believer in less is more, andi just don’t have the capacity at this stage in my life to keep track of hundreds of different materials… on top of that if youre not playing offline and on easy mode, youre going to die way quick.. I feel like the game almost discourages advanced recourse gathing in that way…
gathering food of any consequence is needlessly complicated as well.. it isn’t as simple as killing an animal and looting its body.. creating a fire and cooking it… you need tools to collect the meat after the kill.. its just not my thing
and again needlessly complicated for how harsh the environment can be on higher difficulties
I want to feel like I can at any moment decide to start a new camp somewhere and not that I have to take my things back to base
and the way the game over complicates things like hunting, I just couldn’t do that here
So the way I chose to play this game was going the more explorer route..
living off of plants, I just wanted to battle the terrains and its inhabitents with the simplest items I could craft that didn’t feel like a math equation…
and I had a decent amount of fun doing this…
laying down a bed as I felt I made progress so I would respawn there if I would die.. and just keep the simplest materials on me at all times to be able to fend for myself if I ran into any hostiles..
which this world is full of..
    from giant spiders to people..
    enemies are everywhere…
I actually really loved the combat mechanics in this game, theyre very third person action witcher dark suls style of attacking blocking and dodging, I most of the time felt like If I took damage in a fight it was my fault..
however not all of the time..
this game definitely suffers from performance issues.. especially during battle..
the game will lag a bit, frames will drop and youll be taking damage from seemingly nothing
enemies can also spawn ontop of you out of nowhere..
its makes for a nice scare.. but it also makes for some frustrating moments when your character instrantly dies from a giant spider spawning ontop of them and now that giant spider is guaring y our dead corpse with all of your materials on it.
I also found it pretty annoying that after killing enemies you oculdnt take their weapons or gear..
whats the point of righting them then?
The combat system doesn’t feel risk reward.. it feels just there for survival which quickly brought down the enjoyment and excitement of exploring for me…
Conan Exiles is a decent survival game..
if things were simpler it would even be a good one…
but they aren’t so it isn’t..
this is a game though that i don’t think anyone that isn’t really into survival games would enjoy..
    I give Conan Exiles
    a 6/10

After learning the puzzling menu system, it still feels like the game has been ported straight from PC to console, without too much thought.
But the meat of it, gameplay is decent enough, levelling fair, battle-mechanics simple but good.
Scenery and settings look promising, so that you actually want to keep exploring further on.
One flaw might be, that I’ve been experiencing some major lagging (will revisit this review in few days if it occurs more often).

User rating average seem to be less than six, but decent price, I do recommend, 8/10!

For my taste, the resources are way too far apart, but I must confess these kind of games aren't really my cup of tea. Yet I cannot deny I'm having fun.
I just regret buying it for PS4. The radial menu is a bad choice that leads to mistakes, and everything is twice as hard as doing it with a mouse + keyboard. I realize that's just a limitation of consoles, but there could be more improvements made for simple QoL tasks, like navigating the menus looking for something. I probably will play it for a while until I feel I got my money's worth, but that nagging feeling of playing on a subpar control scheme always returns whenever I have to do anything.

    There. You've been warned.

The controls and access to your tools is incredibly cumbersome, unrewarding, and not well explained. You constantly have to go through menu after menu to find the crafting that makes up a lot of the gameplay (and if there is an easier way to do these things, I couldn't find it and was impeded by that). There is a lot of small text to read on a screen that might be better suited for a PC user interface but is tough on a TV screen. Framerate drops and gets choppy routinely both in-game and in cutscenes. (I thought this wouldn't bother me but it did.) And I can't tell if I "should" be playing on a solo server or on a PVE/PVP server (not sure where the richer experience is), but it doesn't seem like you can transfer your character between them and I'm not sure where I should invest my efforts.

I feel like there's a fun world to explore here, but I just can't get to it.

First of all I m kind of new to survival games. I ve been looking into some in the past, but it didnt hook me up too much. This time around I ve been looking for something appealing on PS4 to try my luck again on this genre and quite luckily I nearly exactly matched with the release of Conan Exiles which has been in BETA before.

You start as male/female barbarian amidst the desert. Customization on the character is nice, religions dont tend to be a deal breaker. In some countries you also get full nudity options, for whom that counts, there you have it. You wake up broke and naked wandering around to start gathering food, water and stuff to build your very first tools. The game gives you some sort of a journey line which carries you through your personal development although the game explains not much at all. Theres no tutorial, theres no hand holding. In the first hour I was killed numerous times up until I learned my way.

Once you get a grip the game is very rewarding. You learn to make leather armors, get better swords or pikes or bows. Where you gathered at first now stands your home and a fireplace. Tons of hours later you wander north to go for more vital resources, killing elephants, raiding tribes and exploring vast deserts, high mountains and precious forests. The graphics are very nice to me although the color palette could use more variety. Fighting is klunky at times but even with frame drops I got myself through most of it with only a few rages.

When it comes to technicality we hit a critical spot here. The PS4 port is kind of nice but the controls are sometimes really klunky and sometimes more complex then they should be. Building houses is kind of neat then enraging because of clipping or placing issues you can just not prevent or get around.

After putting in tens of hours into this game going full solo survival on standard mode server I still get going. I m getting surprised by hard hitting sandstorms, I go stealth killing at night, I wrestle naked with crocodiles and got myself a nice trip throughout all the continents of Conan Exiles.

    Is this game worth buying?:
This game has heavy performance as well as controller issues on PS4 Pro. If this is something that easily bothers you then dont buy it at all. Maybe wait a bit for some fixes and go for a sale deal. If you seek out a well made atmospheric survival game that gives you the thrill through your very personal development on your own with a nice variety of weapons, enemies, buildings and well designed continents that will eat up hours of your life like nothing then I d say you should give it a try. And it is also quite satisfying when going on your own.

Still in regards to bugs, klunkiness and performance I can only rate it at 5-7 although the fun factor is an easy 10 to me and I hope that Funcom will be able to polish it a bit more over time.

this has all the makings of a great game, decent pricing and should keep anyone entertained for a long time. has a few slight bugs / lag issues at present but considering its just out and the amount of server issues other games have had on launch i think its went amazingly well so far!

just wish there was a wee tutorial to explain somethings in game or extra info on icons / tabs

One of the worst survival rpg ever made with developers not giving a **** about year old bugs and players complains.
Item wheel was a terrible decision compared to the hotbars.
Combat system itself is terrible, it's very easy to abuse to win against any single mob, so all difficulty comes from being swarmed by mobs. Also npc archers are very annoying because they don't need to deal with

Item wheel was a terrible decision compared to the hotbars.
Combat system itself is terrible, it's very easy to abuse to win against any single mob, so all difficulty comes from being swarmed by mobs. Also npc archers are very annoying because they don't need to deal with item wheel, so they can change weapon and start attacking instantly, dodged melee strike? Enjoy 2 arrows right away in your head.
Mobs loot is totally random, so you usually pick 2h hammer from archers and arrows from dancers. And of course none of them drops clothes they wear
Another butt bleeding thing about npc it's their respawn time. They respawn all together and not some time after you kill them like in any normal game, so you can be in middle of npc village when they all decided to respawn together, have fun.
From dungeons only tested dregs and while itself it was pretty neat experience, I run in the many bugs that didn't saw on the pc early access. Like first door opening only once and after that if you left dungeon you can't get inside after first water area.
Exp gains are ****ed, so killing spiders that die from one combo is faster than killing anyone else. Exiles don't give much exp at all, despite loving to swarm you.
Progression itself is lacking too, of course you can do adventure log, but it's limited, crafting and gathering don't bring much exp. So only grinding remains, just like in the age of conan which failed for the same reason
Multiplayer part has all problems of typical survival rpg with only difference is that developers didn't even bothered to do anything about it. Like players claiming all free land with columns, but there it also prevents mobs from spawning

If anything, I must say this game is not what I expected. Or more accurately, I didn't really know what to expect.

Going in blind perhaps was for the best. From the moment you begin you have no idea what to do or where to go. But what is clear is one thing: Survive. and boy does it drill that in quickly with a savage landscape that is all to quickly eager to devour you whole. But

Going in blind perhaps was for the best. From the moment you begin you have no idea what to do or where to go. But what is clear is one thing: Survive. and boy does it drill that in quickly with a savage landscape that is all to quickly eager to devour you whole.

But once you get the basics down, and you aim at surviving and exploring, the game kicks into gear. The stronger you get, the better stuff you can build, and the better stuff helps make you a stronger. And so the cycle continues.

Visually the game is stunning. Landscapes are gorgeous and the character models are some of the best I have seen in a realtime open world environment.

Sound is also great. Music knows when to be soft, when to be loud. Always setting a great atmosphere which I lost myself in time and time again.

Combat is fun, and there is such a large variety of enemies that you rarely feel bored in that regard.

Gameplay though, I got to say the closest game I can compare this to is Minecraft. Just Minecraft for adults. Not a bad thing, but the base building and survival element is so in your face it makes you feel like that that's all there is at times.

While the Conan universe has got extensive lore, this game barely has a narrative. Your goal at the beginning is the same as it is at the end: Escape. Little else happens that is not connected to that goal in some way.

    Overall:
Conan Exiles is far better than I had expected it to be and I enjoyed it immensely. But the monotony of resource harvesting and lack of a deeper story, did make the game feel a bit hollow at times. None the less, I still thought it was great and really do hope they keep extending the game.

    Note to Developers:
    - Hats off in regards to not being squeamish to nudity. It is nice to see that a game that is intended for adult to play also has content that adults would expect. It's not done tastelessly and fits the world.
    - It would be nice that you could have more than one active character at a time. Limiting it to 1 play through at a time did make it a bit limiting for solo players.

I can't though. As it stands now Conan Exiles is riddled with deep game design flaws. Bugs aside, which I hope are addressed with time, the actual game, as designed, is far to grindy to be much of a survival sandbox. Essential resources to craft even more essential items are far to rare in general, and where reliably found far too not worth the effort for the difficulty and risk under the default game to retrieve. Status effects dished out by NPCs stack, and they spam them. Not so much an issue, until it is taken into account that you need to craft items to counter these stacking effects. And the resources to craft those items will be so frustrating to gather, you'll feel so disincentivized as to not even wish to bother with it, as the rewards will be abysmally little.

Combat, on PS4, I have found to be a mess with how laggy the game is. Also the stamina mechanic is little more than a frustration, another arbitrary limitator put in place, rather than being a mechanic that keeps the game interesting and challenging. This is especially noticeable with how the dodge mechanic is done, where dodging will leave you out of an attacks path, then unable to do anything as you are out of stamina and the attacking creatures heavybag many times on its follow ups. It really is a common pattern in the game, an interesting thing, made useless before it can be useful, just by the games need to be 'merciless', i.e., a punishing grind.

I'd get to all the features I want to love (construction, certain grafting, religion/cult, cannibalism, enslavement of thalls, etc, etc ), but that is where Conan Exiles is its most disappointing. So many things done right, but all attached to a broken wreck of a spine in the core game, that it is too frustrating to try and enjoy the content in is indeed done well.

Honestly, the game feels more like a demo, to show a hint of what is great in it, but everything locked away. In this case locked away behind poor game designs and mechanics.

Literally the worst game I've ever had the misfortune and displeasure to experience.

First the developers don't care at all about their players. You can be a loyal player playing for months or years and the devs will make changes on the server with NO in game warning, or console message, that will delete ALL of you work, not some... everything you've been doing for over a year, period.

You can be a loyal player playing for months or years and the devs will make changes on the server with NO in game warning, or console message, that will delete ALL of you work, not some... everything you've been doing for over a year, period.

This has happen to me twice, because I was foolish enough to think they changed and give them another chance. Hours, days, months, years of work and time gone after an update, with no way to recover it at all. That is wholly unreasonable for ANY product.

Then before that there are many bugs that make you lose hours to months of work anyway. The devs have added many unnecessary time sinks, and they are placed on top of things that may be bugged. For example in order to craft a certain item you need ONE and only ONE specific thrall. There may be only 1 or 2 thralls out of 50 that spawn every 16 minutes at 5 locations. So that's 6 chances every 16 minutes running to 5 different places minutes apart hoping the right ONE out of FIFTY will spawn. As the spawn is random and often repeating the same wrong ones this can take literally real world months running back and forth to all these locations and you may NEVER get that one thrall spawn.

BUT WORSE... if it does finally spawn after however long it may disappear due to a bug wasting months of your life. If you want that item, then you need to do it all again unless you're smart enough to give up on this ludicrous game.

All that is ignoring the fact that the DLC is exorbitantly priced AND even after you buy it you can not use it unless you put in hours more work because it's only high level items. They could have easily added low level items but chose not to, so of you are not some hard core player or if you simply don't have time, well you paid for nothing.

I will literally never by another Funcom game ever again, I wish I could return this garbage. I don't care what game they may make in the future this company can not be supported. Any company that has this little concern about their players or care of the quality of their product shouldn't even be in business.

The Hyborian wilds are teeming with savage encampments and gruesome monsters to explore and slaughter. If you can avoid the corruption that might send you mad and enslave enough thralls to batter your way through the cities of skeletons then one day you might become the mighty conqueror of the entire server. It’s not easy but one thing I can definitely say for Conan Exiles is that despite the gameplay and graphics being quite run of the mill it really is quite addictive.

Conan Exiles is a savage survival game set in the lands of high adventure. You'll need grit, determination and a stable internet connection to make the most of it but if survival games are your kind of thing then Conan Exiles won't disappoint.

    - The grind (default settings) is on the border of insanity. But it is possible. I did it.
    - For endgame, you need very special armor against heat AND cold which is hard to get (get the Redeemed Silent Legion, please)
    - No map available in dungeons
    - If you die in Dungeons that have locked doors, you have no chance to recover your stuff because you are naked
    - „The Purge“ is a stupid mechanic which lets waves of enemies destroy your base and materials for which you grinded hundeds of hours Turn it off!

Easily one of the best games I've ever played, certainly from the perspective of immersion. I disappear into this world for extended periods and completely lose track of time. I disappear into this world for extended periods and completely lose track of time. I honestly haven't had this experience with a game for a very, very long time, despite sinking a fair amount of time into PS4 games such as Last of us, God of war, Doom 2016 etc, and a lot of time into Diablo III and CS:GO on PC. Admittedly I am particularly fond of sandbox experiences in general, which definitely wouldn't be for some people.

I am playing this offline as I'm not that interested in PvP or having to worry about having my base destroyed given that I spend so much of my in game time building it; something that I have fallen in love with :) Overall the building experience is intuitive, quite nuanced and flexible enough to allow you to create almost anything you can dream up. Complimenting the building system nicely, the Thrall system works quite well as a mechanic, and adds a lot of life and form to the game but does need some more love from the devs imo to really shine.

NPCs are genuinely challenging, and the world is a real $#*! to survive in, leading to a nice balance between adventuring and building, crafting and upskilling. It's really nice to go out on a challenging mission and then come and spend a few hours at base just crafting, building, adding placeables, and getting ready for the next adventure.

The other really big upside for me is that the game looks gorgeous with beautiful (occasionally breathtaking) environments, weather systems, equipment, building components an so on.

There are definitely some things I would love to see the developers add and improve though, despite not being essential:

    1. Giving more life to thralls... The ability to have them roam around (perhaps on a day / night schedule), sit down to eat, congregate, get drunk etc. The base is so integral to the experience of the game that making it seem more authentic from that perspective will go a long way. Being able to interact with them, change outfits for working Thralls etc would all be welcome

    2. Better menu systems for moving through items on crafting stations... Perhaps some listed filters rather than toggle filtering, as it can be hard to interact with on PS4

    3. Caravans as an extension to the exciting new mounts system, allowing us to move a decent chunk of gear across map, allowing us to explore further and more deeply without having to build new bases

    4. Jewels, artefacts, money, and with all that the ability to purchase from or trade with NPCs... More of a focus on treasure type items and mechanics would bring this game dangerously close to feeling like a Diablo RPG

    5. Boats, fishing and agriculture for survival... A real system that takes time and allows us to build a bigger community base

Thank you Funcom for this amazing game!

Would not recommend it. While it's a beautiful game, after a year of playing, it still has many bugs to be fixed, such as the flying carcasses once you kill them, and getting stuck in my base because of my follower. And for god's sake REMOVE THE PURGE!!! I deleted the game because of the purge, as I spent DAYS building a base only for it to be demolished by these purges. I have a full timeWould not recommend it. I can't sit and rebuild my base every time a purge comes. Not to mention, I can ONLY have 20 thralls now. How am I supposed to defeat anything with 20 thralls, when 5 of them are working at different worktables. Lot's a places to discover and lots of things to do, but if my time and my progress is going to be wasted by these purges, this game is not worth it. I was looking for a game to enjoy, not to get slapped in the face by. Not to mention you loose all your stuff once you die. Also, it should have a better fast travel system, as this map is too big to travel all the time. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played offline because I wanted to develop quietly.
I did not quite understand which "genius" came up with the idea to add a “cleaning” to the game.
    It was looks like ..
I crossed at half a map to find a good place without unexpected neighborhood and with a lot of resources for development. I just completed a wonderful two-story house where I was planned to place a workshop, but suddenly came two dozen soldiers who killed my hero. When I re-spawned and returned, I saw a picture of how these twenty freaks are breaking everything what I built, with shouting: "Get out, foreigner!"
I see no reason to waste a time on this "Groundhog Day" anymore.
Put your game into the furnace!

Cons: trash fighting system, painful body recovery after death
Pros: beautiful places, and music, exciting adventure and exploration feeling.

Verdict: the game is really enjoyable for a while, the adventuring, building, surviving part truly works, but if you have a standard for skill involved fighting and need for challenges, then you are going to be sick with the fighting system eventually.

Pros explained: the game has a nice atmosphere, exciting changing music, cool places to explore, and you can build our camp / bases almost anywhere, interesting crafting system (involves a fair bit of grinding materials though).

Cons explained: for casual players it is probably gonna be fine, you go there with your big sword and armor, hit the bosses while they hitting you and you win eventually. YEAH! you ARE the man! But for those who ever played sg like Nioh or Dark Souls, the fighting system is going to be truly painful for sure. The skill level involved is pretty low, and the fights are mostly stat checks. The 'lock on' system is truly terrible. If you lock on someone, you basically loose all of your mobility, you start to move with really slow speed, and also you loose your lock if you start to dodge sideways too much. So you cant do sg like lock on a boss, circleling around them, with clever dodges, while slowly waring them down. Also hits are really inconsistent. Worst of all it is inconsistent if your hits land or not often even if you are literally in the face of a giant beast. I already talked about the **** lock on system but the other bad part is, that if you not lock the target, you miss your hits like 70%. All in all: the bosses and fights were designed in zerging online players or at least you and a strong thrall / pet who just tank all the hits, in mind, and sadly there is no room for compensate for the lack of thoose with skill and careful experimentation.

I loved the first few hours - surviving in a harsh desert, learning to build, discovering weirdo creatures to fight. But combat quickly becomes stale, there isn't much of a story to speak of, and building materials vary in color and design but not really functionality. So after I had built a decent home and seen a quarter of the map, I didn't feel at all compelled to keep going.

Oh and it's worth mentioning that the UI and crafting systems are pretty difficult to manage, and the learning curve is steep.

In my opinion, if you're looking for something like this, Ark is a much better use of your money. Ark doesn't have much of a story either, but the dinosaur and crafting variety in that game gives you much more to look forward to, and much more reason to carry on.

Pay $150 for all the DLC, then they decide that isn't enough and start charging $200/year for the same amount of content as previously $40/year in DLCs, but wait there's more, now there's $40/year in FOMO battle passes as well.

Almost $240/year to play a game that is riddled with bugs. Awesome

The game gives you the opportunity to play among a bunch of players and the game is not ugly to look at. This game gave me the experience of playing on a survival server with a bunch of strangers who could decided at any moment to cut me down for no reason.

Painfully bad game. The developers put zero effort into making it. The only reason why i installed it was because it was free with PS+ which is also the game that made me cancel my subscription.

I start the game, i start walking into the desert and then i die... No proper explanation, no proper introduction, no proper tutorial, nothing. It just spat me out in the game environment like

Building has a few irritating things, but overall you can work around them.
Overall a great game, especially fun to play with a small group.

Conan Exiles offers a decent survival experience with its vast open world and crafting mechanics. The inclusion of the Conan the Barbarian theme adds some excitement, but the game falls short in terms of overall depth and polish. While it can be enjoyable for fans of the genre, it lacks innovation and fails to truly stand out among other survival titles.

Ultimately Conan Exiles is a slow paced game with no quick pay offs. It provides a sense of wonder with its locations and the things that populate them. There is danger in the persistent online world which adds to the need to log on often to keep an eye on things. If you are not prepared to put the hours in, this is a title that is better left alone.

Conan Exiles is one of the most disappointing games I have played this generation. I have not experienced another game on PlayStation 4 as broken as Exiles. It is hard to believe that a game could be released for purchase in such bad condition. In another genre, the bugs in Exiles might be fun or amusing. In a survival game, they are crippling. Gamers deserve, and should demand, better.
