    Played the single player campaign. Absolutely pointless quick time events and the most bland missions i've never seen. absolutely standard cod, nothing special. The graphics could easily be from 2010 too. Definitely worse campaign than the "future settings" ones - and those were already pretty bad.

    This game is just...bad. It represents everything about greed. How can you have BOTH season pass AND micro-transactions??? Not to mention the Season Pass is the price of a FULL GAME. The campaign is mediocre, the multiplayer is copy and paste from every year. It just isn't worth it. Cod is a dying franchise.

    Oh yeah, and they're adding JETPACKS IN WW2. That makes sense doesn't it???

    no lo recomiendo, las cajas con regalos caen del cielo (las cuales te sacan del video juego por completo), hay muertes ilimitadas, muy repetitivo y poco innovador, parece un casino de la segunda guerra mundial, muy decepcionado de esta entrega, espero que las próximas entregas mejoren.

La campaña dura poco de entre 5 o 6 horas, el multijugador parece que le han puesto mucho entusiasmo parece que creen que el jugador es conformista y fácil de manejar.

    This Call Of Duty is a mockery to the intelligence, it can have in some parts good graphics and few good moments that please those who do not ask much for a game. However, they spoil a very important historical fact by putting boxes of micropayments.     The campaign is about 1 hour long, the multiplayer only comes with 9 maps!!! and zombies only has 1 map. The graphics suck and the guns are unrealisitic and sound fake. The game is not worth 60 dollars wait until its on sale or buy battlefield 1.

    I cant believe people pay for this game , only campaing is decent but very short...I rather replay first two call of duty then this......People got really brainwashed by return to ww2 to buy this...If u like watching people opening cases game is for you otherwise stay away from this waste of time.

    A game with promise and disappointment. More work should be done to figure out the core of what this franchise is, with the story being fun but way too short.     As I started playing the campaign , I felt like I did back in the good ol days of Call of Duty 2 , on the Xbox 360. The graphics and sound are top notch, the story is something familiar , but that’s not a bad thing for me. There’s something special about knowing that the experience you are playing through really happened. I haven’t played through the whole campaign , but I’m lookingAs I started playing the campaign , I felt like I did back in the good ol days of Call of Duty 2 , on the Xbox 360. The graphics and sound are top notch, the story is something familiar , but that’s not a bad thing for me. There’s something special about knowing that the experience you are playing through really happened. I haven’t played through the whole campaign , but I’m looking forward to getting back to it tonight.
    The zombies are darker, realer, creepier. Much better than the corny ones of the past.
    Multiplayer/pvp..... hmmm. I wanted to like it , but it’s definitely just another year of twitch shooting reskinned for the time frame. There are a few new things added, which are welcome additions. The new social hub , headquarters, is just like destinys “tower”,...which is a welcome addition to me. I like that they added the shooting range. War is an attempt at adding something new and fresh, but honestly I’d rather go play some Battlefield 1 for that fix. Battlefields pvp is in a league of its own, compared to this. I had a match last night where I was watching a replay of a final kill cam that showed some nonsensical quick scoping for kills that weren’t even CLOSE to being a hit. I tried to upload the capture to YouTube from my PS4 , but it keeps giving me errors and not letting me upload it. Good for Activision that I can’t get this footage out. They’d be embarrassed , lol.
    All in all, I really enjoy the campaign and zombies , but for my pvp fix there are newer , fresher things to play right now.    … Expand

    In multiplayer: the graphics are pretty dismal. The maps nothing new. Weapons boring. I'm trying really hard to think of anything that impressed me.

    On day of release the servers were running really slow. Sometimes we waited 5 minutes+ to get into a match. One thing in particular that I found annoying was the 'Headquarters' a place where all online gamers congregate prior to finding a match - more like a pen to contain the sheep.

    I have bought and played all of the Call of Duty games since CoD 4 and watched as Activision have run out of ideas and produced lesser titles. I honestly didn't think anything could have been a greater disappointment than Infinite Warfare. This is.

    The reality is a group of 6 of us - gamers who loved playing CoD were talking about trading the game in on day 2 of release really puts it in perspective.

    If you enjoy FPS don't waste your money on this pile of tripe. If we keep buying this junk and filling their purses without saying how it really is then this is the end of gaming. :)

    The campaign mode is extremely disappointing. There is nothing good I can say about this game other than that the graphics look good and quite polished.

    It’s more of the same. (big wallet = big fun)

    Just close the series already . Its just getting worse. Quick tip : IF YOU EVER TRY TO DO A HISTORICAL GAME , **** LEARD HISTORY , DUMB **** .The last enjoyable / playable CoD was Black Ops 1 . Everything after it is just trash.

    Very bad game. The maps are have tight cornors so the only gun you can use is an smg. The hit detection is off and the game is just like infinite warfare but with no jump packs. Plus the servers have been down every time I try to play it, if you are looking for boots on the ground get Modern Warfare Remastered. It is just as good as the origional.

    Maybe this time there would be improvements, genuinely well thought out ideas that added value to the game.     The campaign is somehow worse than the most recent transformers, and most recent fast/furious films,and that's just the story and voice acting.
    The most frustrating element is the illusion breaking invisible walls and magic shields that force the player to do tasks in exactly the way the developer planned.
    This is fine for certain games, but when the illusion of choice is given to you, and then for no logical reason and without explanation is taken away; forcing you to start at the last checkpoint, it's offensive, it's lazy and it's not acceptable for a AAA title.

    Minor (and even a few mission failing) bugs could be forgiven if the above wasn't true and coupled with this title's cream of the crop price tag. Something HAS to change.

    Whilst the multiplayer is better than the campaign, it too has seen very very little innovation unless you include the headquarters lobby which I don't as it isn't game play. The illusion of being surrounded by players does not create an atmosphere as there is very little you can do to interact with each other and no one bought the game to socialise with random players.

    Same old copy paste create a class system with only superficial changes. Same old bulletproof hedges, invisible map walls funneling players into one of seven(not several) engagement positions on each map. Same old grind, fast twitch no scope, zero strategy , low team cooperation as the last 8 COD derivatives.

    And FINE. I might be able to forget all this and just sip my BUY&LARGE cup cake in a cup and play..

    IF I COULD CONNECT TO THE ONLINE SERVERS MORE THAN 1/20 TIMES.

    Obviously don't buy it, but I did so I won't blame you. We need to stop giving battlefield/battlefront/cod/fifa our money and start demanding a better product from them than a repackaging. We need to change the game, so we can change the game.    … Expand

    Multiplayer is not even close to history. COD still (for a 10+ years) doesn't have any dedicated servers. Still same old stupid multiplayer mechanic. Nothing new to me.

    This is not a game for e-sport games. S & D mode, too much noise on the map. The maps are too small and too fast. Class of "mountains" in quiet walking destroys game. E-sport in this game does not exist.

    This game is unfettered **** Sledgehammer Games is incompetent and I personally will never buy anything they touch ever again. The servers are unstable and **** the hit detection is functionally non-existent, the weapon balance is bad, the maps are boring and there's only 9 of them, the list goes on and on and on. Do not buy this game.

    reflex sights were rarely used on small weapons in WWII. Why does COD think its okay to use it on small weapons? Why cant they make an actual somewhat realistic game for once?????

    La historia tiene caídas de fps y eso lo hace muy complicado a la hora de jugar (tengo una ps4 slim no se en las demás versiones de ps4) y el online tiene caídas de partidas y muy pocos mapas los cuales son muy malos solo se salva la mitad de los mapas y el colmo son los 50€ del season pass , la verdad jo lo tengo y espero que valga la pena , pero de momento no lo recomiendo.

    I hate most of all, the fact that you get to pick what you look like going into a battle. In the last COD WW2 game, if you were on the side of the Japanese then you wore a Japanese uniform. Same goes for being on the American team, German, Russian and so on... Now, not only do you get to pick what uniform you wear, you also get to pick your gender and ethnicity.    This game is doodoo.

    The campaign was ok, not great but just ok. The ending was disappointing and the story itself actually sucked.
    Multiplayer: WORST multiplayer ever! Nothing worst than having opposing players shooting through walls to kill you. Wooden walls sure, but when you run around a corner of a brick wall and you die, come on COD, I'm sure your developers can do a better job than this.
    If you're looking for a WW1 or 2 style of game just go and buy Battlefield 1, I am not a fan of the Battlefield series but it blows this COD away.
    Bought this game less than a week ago and will be trading it in for something else today.
    COD WW2 is nothing but an attempt to copy other games but instead of making a step forward they took two steps back!!! Not sure if they hired new developers but this game is awful. Poor gameplay, poor graphics, crappy maps and whats with the headquarters? HQ is stupid.
    DO NOT waste your money on this game, not sure why some people think its a great game, they all must be high on drugs?!?!?!
    COD needs to get back to basics and come out with a game that reflects today's world struggles such as Afghanistan, Iraq, ISIS, etc.....Modern warfare was a great game.

    Just reached master prestige yesterday and I have to say this was my worst cod experience to date. I have played almost all cods since black ops and although I did get pissed off I still had fun. This game gave me none of that. It was just a torture fest of playing war cos i couldnt stand playing any of the base gamemodes. Even the new dlc maps are garbage. What where SHG thinking whenJust reached master prestige yesterday and I have to say this was my worst cod experience to date. I have played almost all cods since black ops and although I did get pissed off I still had fun. This game gave me none of that. It was just a torture fest of playing war cos i couldnt stand playing any of the base gamemodes. Even the new dlc maps are garbage. What where SHG thinking when they made this game is beyond me.     Failure again. They may have gotten rid of the Marvel Superheroes versions of the games and got back to where it should be, but many of the key were never fixed. This includes the quick-scoping sniper shots and the perk stuff that is often constant when you are on a team that is doing nothing but getting killed.

    With the quick-scoping, you can miss by 3 meters and still get an    Failure again. They may have gotten rid of the Marvel Superheroes versions of the games and got back to where it should be, but many of the key were never fixed. This includes the quick-scoping sniper shots and the perk stuff that is often constant when you are on a team that is doing nothing but getting killed.

    With the quick-scoping, you can miss by 3 meters and still get an instant kill (if you aim and don't hit the head, you may not get a kill). This takes so much away from the multiplayer that just this issue requires me to award the multiplayer a complete failure. I know there are people that love this, but it is ridiculous.

    My other annoyance is all complete stupid little things you get for kills and how fast they come. I have had games that I quit because we were owning the other team so bad that it you couldn't play the shooter. I have joined games where the team I was on was getting so wasted that I couldn't even leave spawn - kept getting hit by all the perk crap, before I even took one step.

    Campaign: Remember when Call of Duty actually had good campaigns that could be considered a selling point? I'm talking about the Modern Warfare trilogy, World at War, Black Ops 1 and 2, etc. This campaign does not fall into this category. Daniels is a bad main character. The game spends a lot of time trying to make the player feel bad for him, but I simply don't know enough about him to feel any emotion towards him. There are some interesting new mechanics in the campaign, such as health that can only be replenished using medkits, and squad members being able to resupply, but the resupply mechanic needs work. The only reason I took stuff from them is because they would not shut up until I took it from them. I had to toss grenades randomly on purpose just so my squad member would stop screaming every five seconds that he had grenades ready. The opening level is very good, you get a good sense of the danger soldiers faced and how grim the battlefield is. Every level after this is nothing like level 1 and they just get boring after a while. I think this game could have benefited from a branching stories campaign like World at War, because fighting Germans exclusively gets old, especially knowing that WWII wasn't only fought between the U.S and Germany. Overall, the campaign is a waste of time.

    Multiplayer: Awful. The game only came with 9 maps, which should be considered unacceptable. Headquarters is a waste of space. Call of Duty doesn't need a social hub and it only caused the game to crash or simply not work for about a month after release. The weapons are unbalanced. There is auto aim on the snipers and SMGs and shotguns are definitely overpowered compared to the assault rifles and LMGs. War mode is a joke. Given the run and gun style of COD multiplayer and the fast death times, how did they think an objective heavy mode like this would work? But the worst part is I'm writing this review more than a month after release and the game is still broken. Crashing is still a big issue, the supply drops you supposedly earn during games never appear in your inventory, and hit detection is still awful, and Sledgehammer has the nerve to push their first DLC pack while the game is still broken and they do nothing about it. A very bad experience.

    Zombies: I don't have much to say about this, but it's not very good. I'm a big fan of Treyarch zombies, so I had high hopes, but it didn't deliver. The characters are boring and the map is one big boring circle. It's also too easy. The game's equivalent to Juggernog on steroids is available right from the start for a measly 500 jolts, This mode is nothing special.

    This game alone has made me skeptical about buying future COD titles, but it has ensured that I'll never buy another product with Sledgehammer's name attached to it ever again.    … Expand

    I have played COD for 10 years, WW2 is definitely the worst COD i ever played! i don't even know were to start with all that is wrong with this game! Everything! if you like lag, camping, head-glitch, grenade spam, OP-snipers, and overall a glitch game that sometimes don't even work when you want to play, this is the game for you! Im going back to play older CODs.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Firstly, the campaign doesn't even touch on the idea of Russians, Japanese and/or the German point of view. Same old "americans were the only one with souls and feelings, germans were robots" clichè. They included a black person with another "you underestimated the blacks" clichè and totally dumped historical correctness for the sake of political. Same goes for the women characters which had no purpose to be women and could have easily be replaced by more appropriately for the historical time men.
    The game conveys no feeling, similar to how WAW conveyed feeling of horror just by the looks of the menu, the soundtrack and so on. I can associate any COD with some feeling, but I can't associate WWII to anything. In addition, I didn't notice any impressive soundtrack.

    Let's touch on the Mutiplayer. The moment I open the menu I see how terrible the UI is. In fact, I wonder if it could be worse than that. It's confusing, cluttered with stuff, backgrounds change, blur and have no relation to one another when you navigate. Navigation is horrible. It feels more challenging to open weapon customization than reach lvl 20 in zombies. I can't see scoreboard during a multiplayer match. I have to go through a few tabs, then one option down, then a popup for confirmation in order to leave the match. I can go on for hours about what's wrong with the UI.
    Maps are mostly terrible. 3-lane, boring, no diversity, nothing fun or special about them. Such a rushed design. I will leave it here regarding multiplayer.

    Zombies are lacking the horrific Treyarch feeling. There is unnecessary customization. Playing zombies is extremely easy. No soundtrack, no cool sound effects when you pick up a drop, it just doesn't make me want to replay it.

    Overall, the game is horrible, rent it, play the campaign and get rid of it.    … Expand

To help others avoid buying this game with false expectations, I will tell you what aspects ruined it for me.

    -BOLT ACTION IRON SIGHTS DESTROYED
    Firstly, the only weapon I used in COD1, UO, and COD2 was the bolt action rifle with iron sights. It took skill, and it fit my play style of not jumping around like an idiot with an SMG. Bolt action rifles (iron sights only) also happened to be the most common weapon in WW2 apart from American forces. What does COD WW2 give us? One bolt action rifle with iron sights that was put into the game as an afterthought and must be unlocked AND take up an attachment slot. Scopes are the default. In addition the iron sight bolt action rifle still handles like there is a scope on it. The animation and timing looks and feels like you are trying to look through the lens. This exclusion of the one of the most quintessential aspects of the WW2 genre is a slap in the face to all bolt action iron sight lovers.

    -This is still nothing more than a full auto/quick scoping nightmare.
    Full autos existed in the original CODs, but they were nowhere near the instakill 'who shoots first' death machines that comprise CODWW2. Yes, a good player could iron sight someone at long range with a carefully aimed headshot, but not at full auto. The original full auto weapons wouldn't melt down 4 players instantly halfway across the map. The recoil was far greater, and trigger control was necessary for accuracy even at close range.

    -Bullet piercing is outrageous.
    Bullets from even small caliber fire piercing thick metal surfaces is ludicrous. It's even worse on rinse and repeat maps with predictable hiding places. Just shoot through where you know someone will be. Yawn.

    -Tactical awareness of surroundings ruined.
    Then: Stealth determined by careful movement and selective fire. Enemy positions determined by careless movement and selective fire. You learned to locate the enemy by listening and instinct. The distinct sound of a Garand after it fired its last round giving you a brief window of opportunity. The difference between an enemy and ally based on the type of gun being fired. Does a German break cover to pursue the location of the person firing an STG44? Not likely. Weapons were restricted to the forces that used them. This seemingly unimportant aspect makes a world of difference in actual gameplay. You had only your senses to help you. Yes people still did the "run n' gun"/"spray n pray", but they were at a serious disadvantage to a calculated player.

    Now: Any gun, any player. Weapon distinctions rendered pointless. Recon scorestreak to show enemy positions. So much overpowering ambient noise and/or perks to make listening for the enemy no more than a crapshoot.

    -Screen shake over the top.
    My screen shakes constantly. Far away explosions make your screen shake violently. It's a stupidly poor attempt at immersion and gives me a headache.

    -Melee Showdowns
    Who didn't enjoy watching two bolt actions clashing at close range and having a melee duel? Dancing around trying to land a carefully aimed rifle butt to the face. It was almost a common understanding, an unspoken gentleman's agreement if you will, to duke it out. It was an endearing aspect of the originals. Well, that's not a thing anymore. The old mechanics made it viable. Now, well, the game design doesn't even allow for such a thing to happen.

    Bottom Line:
    I made the mistake of pre-ordering this game on PSN due to my excitement but couldn't get a refund after I played the Beta. I didn't download the actual game and play it for 6 months because the Beta disgusted me. They destroyed practically everything that made the original games great. Why do I have to play for hours to unlock the most common weapon type in WW2 (iron sighted bolt action)?
    ***Yes I am aware that the American standard issue was not a bolt action, but the British, German, Russian, Japanese, Italian, etc were all issued bolt action iron sighted weapons as the primary small arm***
    Why is the only ONE available designed like garbage?
    This game was marketed with lies that appealed to the emotional attachment players had to the originals and only delivered hot garbage. The game doesn't even feel like WW2.

    I don't care about the micro transactions. You don't have to buy crates to get loot and unlockables. You get plenty of crates from orders and contracts. If people want to waste money on overpriced crates, that's their prerogative.

    Buy the game used if you must. There is certainly no shortage of used copies.    … Expand

    Ive put it a lot of hours on the Multiplayer in this game. Probably way too many. It has so much potential, but every time there's a thread of fun, they wrap it layers of frustration.

    And now youre going to give me Contracts to get X kills in X amount of time on Domination, but i cant ever CHOOSE Domination anymore, so i just have to pray that everyone happens to vote for Domination,    Ive put it a lot of hours on the Multiplayer in this game.     This game was alright. However, it does not come even close to topping the most classic Call of Duty games such as the Modern Warfare series and the Black Ops series. The game's biggest letdown is that it didn't bring anything new to the table aside from the setting. Sure it got better as time flew by but WWII is not bad or good enough to keep you grinding for hours.

    I really wanted CoD’s return to World War II to be something more than a solid game – but it’s not. I couldn’t shake the feeling that I’ve already seen all this, that the developers (or perhaps the publisher) chose to create something as safe as possible. There’s just one campaign mission that surprised me with its scale, the rest is just a disappointing “best of Call of Duty”. The multiplayer is as good as usual, but it was infused with unnecessary systems resembling mobile titles, e.g spending in-game currency on pointless tasks of the “kill 100 enemies” variety. Missions that make you watch other players open their loot boxes are the pinnacle of absurdity. [13/2017, p.64]

    A solid return to its roots, Call of Duty WWII reminds us what made us all fall in love Call of Duty in the first place. It ticks all the boxes which is both a blessing and a curse. Good fun and worth your time but offers nothing exceptional.
