Campaign is okay. JUST okay. I liked the visuals. But Multiplayer feels like it was straight ported from Black Ops 3. This is not worth it just to get MWR. Sell MWR separately please.

Here's the deal. COD IW is not a bad game. But the competition is providing a better product with similar gameplay but with two major differences.
    - Much better level design/MP pace.
    - No microtrasanctions or pay to win. Having wasted $60 to buy this game, I'm now left a bit disappointed as I think I would rather wait for price drops or invested in other games. Let me put it this way.

Let me put it this way. This is not the best COD title this year. Titanfall 2 is. (although it is not called COD)

Shameless copy paste of blops 3, once more without feeling. Its like having the same cereal for your breakfast every morning for 10 years. Infinite warfare is a monotonous and mundane experience with subpar graphics and poor online play. Call of duty is a running joke now, it'll never be the same again. Deserves every 0 it gets. Will play the campaign on veteran and then sell. 0/10

I cannot believe they released this game the way it is. It's a really bad clone of black ops 3 for multiplayer. AND AND AND we are back to having no dedicated servers at all! Host migration in progress...laggy **** kills when you get the drop on someone. COD is dead, please please don't buy this game like I did. I feel terrible and wish I could return it!!!

I feel like the best thing they could have done this year is just to do the Remaster with tons of extra multiplayer maps.

Infinite Warfare is a shame to the CoD name. The story is very generic, the characters are very bland and vanilla and the multiplayer is not enjoyable at all. I was hoping they would fix certain issues after the Beta like the unnatural movement of your character and weapon recoil.

I am someone who really enjoyed Black Ops 3. Yes it was set in the future but the major differences between Infinite Warfare and Black Ops 3 is that it was actually fun, enjoyable and just better made. This game is a step back to CoD: Ghost and we all know how bad that game was.

I'm just gonna return this game and exchange it for Titanfall 2 or Mafia 3.

I honestly do not see how this game has scored so highly in reviews as it is dreadful. Time to move on to something else I think. Probably will not hit a prestige on this. If you really need your fix of CoD and do not want to play BO3 then I guess it will at least give you a fix but I should only be worth £12.99 or so. It's not even a copy and paste of BO3 as it plays so much worse. Don't normally write reviews but worth signing up to write one about this as I feel like the game is so bad and people should know. Will try the campaign to see if I can get any joy out of that and maybe the remastered MW. Think these games are so big now they just make money shoving any old crap out and obviously paying reviewers for good scores. My own fault for not trying before buying. Peace!! Expand

This game is a shameless exercise in releasing absolute garbage whilst adding nostalgia of Modern Warfare to make it sell.

Let's start with this, Infinite Warfare is a turd. A huge turd floating in space that one day will put the human race at risk. Infinity Ward as a developer is now the bare bones of what they actually were when the classic games they are renown for were released.

Infinity Ward as a developer is now the bare bones of what they actually were when the classic games they are renown for were released. Them being Modern Warfare 1 & 2.

The actual core of that team is now Respawn Entertainment that have made the criminally undersold and brilliant Titanfall 2. That is an FPS that combines a versatile Single Player with a frenetic and fantastic Multiplayer.

Yes this game has Modern Warfare 1, but the developers who lovingly created the first game had no input into this Re-Disaster. It's almost fraud. Modern Warfare is however still fantastic game, if a bit dated, and is pretty much the only reason people have and should own this. But at what expense, when $50 worth of the full product is absolute garbage.

Add to this the embarrassingly high sales of the BF4 WW1 skin released recently with worse guns so snipers and tanks reign supreme even more, and I fear for gaming.

Further more the game feels like a reskin of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, but less polished. It is easy to see why Activision desided to lock Modern Warfare Remastered into the deal. You're paying 60$ plus for a game with a p2w system with variants and the despised supply drop system. The campaign is like the same old, with uninteresting enemy robots. Call of Duty was much better at being Boots on the ground, but now it looks like Activision are making P2W part of it, which is an incredible shame. Do not buy this game for you are supporting the downfall of this once great franchise, and it will share the fate of the Tony Hawk games.

Call of Duty is dead now. All they have been doing since Black Ops 2 are futuristic shooters. It's like they took BO2, Advanced Warfare and BO3 and put all of them together and made this. EA actually listen to what the fans want and they made a great World War 1 Battlefield game. Guess I'm playing Battlefield 1 from now on

There are no major improvements from previous games. Trying to throw space in to entice the audience doesn't work. Call of Duty made one game too many focused on the future. I'll bet they go back to the historical WW1, and 2 eras in the next two games. The future they've been sharing is a shallow story that just gets repeated.

Zombie mode is the only redeeming quality but that can't

If you hate Call of Duty Infinite Warfare without playing based on whatever stupid reason you can justify in your head all I can say is shut the **** up. So what if this isn’t the Call of Duty you wanted it is still an amazing game. HelloNormally I start a review out with a on the spot joke that three people laugh at, but I need to say something that has been bugging me right now. If you hate Call of Duty Infinite Warfare without playing based on whatever stupid reason you can justify in your head all I can say is shut the **** up. So what if this isn’t the Call of Duty you wanted it is still an amazing game. Hello internet folks B-rod, and I must say Call of Duty Infinite Warfare is the best game since Black Ops 2. They put a **** load of work into this game to make it great. This is what sequels are supposed to be it takes the formula that we are used to and adds upon it to make it a new game. If you just want the same FPS experience then play the same ****ing game, and let the rest of us play the new one that’ll add a new experience.

The game story is fantastic it takes place in the year of the future ( I have no clue what year) and a war has broken out with the people living on Mars and the people of Earth. You play Generic White Man the 4th who is basically more seriously less wanting to bang everything Captian Kirk. You are going against evil Jon Snow. I joke because Kit Harington plays the villain, but even the mannerisms are like if Jon Snow was just a villain instead of righteous hero. Sadly Kit Harington is the least compelling character in this game, which is probably because he is hardly in it. My personal favorite character is the robot companion Ethan. In my last review I said how charming the Titan was in Titanfall 2. No. **** that Titan Ethan is where it is at. Ethan is a funny, sarcastic, hero. Ethan is if Han Solo was a droid instead of a scruffy looking nerf herder. The story can be played by plowing through just the story missions or you can do the variety of side mission which vary from space combat or boarding enemy vessel to blow it up from the inside. The game is very cinematic with each main story beat either having me scream “oh **** or just having me very engaged to what was happening on the screen. That’s great and all, but how’s the gameplay?

The gameplay is Call of Duty in space; which we’ve seen already. What is new is the space combat the dog fighting is very enthralling probably because it is in space, but it is just super fun. The future tech is interesting I like that they added new guns that aren’t just machine gun, sniper, shotgun. You get a big ass gun that shoots a stream of laser that’ll eviscerate your enemy. It helps that it made me think of the weapons in District 9. For all you multiplayer fans I can’t say a damn thing to that because I just didn’t have time to cry for three hours. So maybe that is what everyone has a problem with I honestly don’t know.

Overall I loved this game, and only wish Activision didn’t screw around with making the $80 bundle with Modern Warfare, because I think that put a bad taste in people’s mouth, and they didn’t need to do it because this is a solid game. I say if you are a fan of the Call of Duty story definitely check it out. To the nah sayers out there I say rent this game seriously give this a shot, because this is a solid entry I wasn’t expecting to love as much as I did. I give this a 4.5/5 I couldn’t give it a perfect score only because I didn’t touch the multiplayer.

IW is a fast paced, well put together fps, but I think it's downfall is going to be it's multiplayer. One thing I was a bit excited for is maybe they would have some type of multiplayer space dog fights considering how much you fly in the campaign, but that is not the case. It is VERY much still CoD. I cant say if it was Activision or Infinity Ward that decided to go with the pay 2 win mechanic but a terrible idea none the less. Especially in a highly competitive shooter like CoD. I know it may sound like I'm just a battlefield fan trying to crap on CoD but I have always LOVED both franchises for their differences but Infinite Warfare is just more CoD, whereas I think we as fans of CoD were ready for something new. I had a lot more fun with MW 3 honestly. No sliding, no double jump, no grapple, no wall running, just classic CoD. I think MW3 will have much longer legs to stand on than IW. Expand

Reyes and Salt, among the other great characters, bring the campaign to life in a way that previous titles in the franchise haven't been able to do. This is an all-out war - and you really sense that. Combined with the amazing graphics both in-game and during cutscenes, it is impossible not to be immersed into the story - except if you're a flat-out hater. The campaign of Infinite Warfare shows a subtlety that is not present in any other title in the franchise. You get the sense that IW took some notes from games like The Last of Us and realized that sometimes - less is more. In Infinite Warfare, every cutscene is not filled with epic battles while being blasted with loud music, but instead we get to learn about the individual characters in a movie-like manner where sometimes the music might even be completely absent. Another key element is the continuity when it comes to artistic style in the campaign. There is a distinct filter that just makes everything pop. It looks professional, real, and life-like.

When it comes to the multiplayer I'll be honest - at first, I hated it and actually quit. However, after continually playing it I have gotten used to it. Most of the maps are decent, while others aren't exactly my favourite, but that's always the case. I'm not a huge fan of the implementation of weapon variants as it favours pay-to-win, but I've come to the conclusion that they don't make the biggest difference in-game. The rigs are probably the biggest problem in the multiplayer section. They just feel... boring. This is where IW should have taken notes from Treyarch and their specialists, who each had a voice, backstory and intention. The rigs are just simply... there. But again, the multiplayer by itself plays well once you get used to it.

Zombies is back and this time with a theme-park setting set in the past. At first, I thought it would be too goofy, but I've come to like it as it brings back vibes from the movie "Zombieland". So this zombies experience is a really fun one - if you're matched with people who actually know what they are doing.

Finally, it is by far the campaign of Infinite Warfare that has the biggest impact on the score.

Combat feels mundane, as if the folks at Infinity Ward and Activision want little to do with creating any strategic systems or burn the walls that prevent their games from feeling visceral - like we're actually experiencing all of this. I cannot feel any of it. The studios handling CoD continually detach gamers from stories, characters and plot development by always feeling the need to be dramatic and overly-cinematic. I feel like every moment is a near-brush with death and I get tired of it really quick. Not every moment has to or is a near-death experience and that crushes the dynamics of story telling. Comparing it to Titanfall 2, Infinite Warfare comes off looking like a game that has phoned it all in. There are no more ideas and no spouts of creativity. It's all fine-tuning the same game year after year. Sure, if you haven't played Call of Duty games before this will seem pretty decent but never great. As for the multiplayer - yawn. It's less flexible than Black Ops 3. In fact, it's basically Advanced Warfare 2 in many ways but even less exciting than that game was for me (although that campaign was good enough to finish). At this point, I want Call of Duty to die. It's a bad franchise that over-markets itself and steals available dollars from dramatically-better games. Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2 are so much better it makes Infinite Warfare look like a joke, and since the guys that made Modern Warfare/Modern Warfare 2 are leading the team over Titanfall/Titanfall 2, it's an easy recommendation for anyone looking for something familiar to Call of Duty but is either bored or just simply hates it. If you buy Infinite Warfare, all I can say is: best of luck because it just wasn't inspiring for me. At least I am able to get close to purchase price for it so it's not a complete waste of spending. With the exception of the space flight simulator portions, this is a copy and paste of the last few years of the game. Even the futuristic weapons are basically models of real-life modern guns with a few wires and gadgets attached to them for flavor. The M4, AK, and M14 are obvious re-skins that even the biggest gun-dunce could point out. Enemies are absolute bullet sponges which makes the gameplay feel more like laser tag than warfare. Weapon customization feels weak, and none of the weapons seem to have any personality whatsoever. One of the best parts of a FPS is finding a weapon you really like and mastering it. You won't find that here, as the weapons do very little to distinguish themselves from others.

The space dogfight gameplay is what disgusts me the most. I understand that it's not supposed to be an absolute flight simulator, but I would at least like to feel like I am flying. The controls for flying are still based on the FPS layout and things like throttle are on a movement stick and rolling your aircraft is on the d-pad. Missile firing is completely unintuitive, and can't even be used for main objectives. When the best strategy is to constantly spin around and spam your machine guns, all sense of control or accomplishment goes out the window. You are forced to dogfight in almost ever campaign level, so not only is it annoying, it is unrelentingly annoying.

The campaign is about 6 hours long, but you will wish it were less. There's a space war, we get it.

None of the characters come with any backstory and they continue to be just as shallow throughout the campaign. You will feel no attachment to any of them, or care when events happen to them. If they changed the names of all the characters halfway through the campaign, I would not have noticed. A lot of the enemies, and even some of your allies, are carbon copies of those from previous CODs. Did they even change the robots, or just re-skin them?

I was bothered by the way the game would pick and choose when to use real space physics or not. I get that this is more subjective, and they can take any artistic license you choose, but it just bugged me personally. You cannot go into space with street clothes and just a breathing mask no matter how technologically advanced your society is. There are plenty of other examples, but I'd rather not give spoilers in this review.

The graphics are fantastic. I can't say enough about this part. Once you get past the hallway-madness levels and onto planets, you will be in awe. All of the next-gen COD's seemed to have issues with their graphics engine, but this one seemed smooth with the shadows and sharp with the textures. I have heard rumors that it's not very optimized for PC, but I played it on the PS4.

Overall, I'd say this game is stunningly beautiful but otherwise vapid and common.

With the amazing SP experiences of both BF1 and TF2 that JUST came out to compare against this, this game is just embarassing! The MP also doesn't compare, its shallow and very uninspired. Slow and plodding, a repeat of every COD since Modern Warfare, which was the last good COD. I just can't recommend this game amidst the rest of the competition. I can definitely recommend TF2, and to a lesser degree, BF1, but either of those contain loads more inspiration and just general fun than this absolute junk. Please, do yourself a favor and pick up TF2, free content, updates, and an inspired and absolutely amazing SP experience. No season pass and infinitely more fun. If you hate that style, even BF1 is amazing compared to this.

The game has everything you would expect from last year's release. It has the same and tired "Epic Story Mode" Or "Campaign" with memorable characters, Multiplayer mode, and Zombies, basically everything you would expect in a CoD game. I used to love zombies since WAW and and BO1, but now it looks like every CoD game is going to have the Zombies mode.

Now if you're not a big gamer or haven't even played a CoD game in awhile or never. Then this might be the game for you. CoD games are always meant to be made for the people who can just pick up the controller and play right away. This game could get a higher rating like maybe a 7 , but Activision has been milking the franchise for awhile now since atleast Black Ops 1 and the games shows how little has change. Let's not forget that this game has been coming out every November, because Activision knows everyone will be their product regardless of reviews. They know you're going to spend your money to play on the 6 hours campaign, play some zombies and some multiplayer, until the "next CoD game" comes out in November.
This game used to be a beloved franchise and pushed the standards for first person shooters back in the days but those days are long gone buddy. These days all companies care about is pushing out pre-orders sales,micro-transactions, broken unfinished games, or clones just to steal your money. It has been getting milked for so long and it will continue until players realized that they're buying the same game with a new skin but like that's going to happen.

Titanfall has great servers, Battlefield has great servers, but Call Of Duty consistently has mediocre or inconsistent ones?!

The aggressively broken spawning. You get shot in the back. Respawn. Someone was right behind you, and shoots you a few seconds later. Respawn. An enemy was aiming down their sights AT THE SPOT IT SPAWNED YOU ON. Respawn. Oddly, the other big FPS franchises don't have these issues.

Teams aren't balanced, and it actively keeps them imbalanced so nearly every match ends with one team winning by 20 kills or more.

Activision, and the devs, won't put genuine effort into a COD game until one sells poorly. Please let this be the one. Please. There's so much potential there if they'd care enough to fix the issues that they very literally haven't made the slightest effort to work on.

    More of the same...
    no innovation here at all.
even the poor performance and graphic glitches on launch are revisited.

The critics must be reviewing a different game...
or some big incentives on those payed reviews.

More like Call of Duty: INFANT Warfare.
The multiplayer is just... not good. The movement is very scrawny and is difficult, but not in the good 'get used to it and you'll be good' way. The space battles feel like a gimmick to me, and the story is so cliche and poorly written that this is an easy contender for Comedy Game of the Year.

The story is slow paced to begin with and picks up later on, only to end at around 6 hours (a hallmark of this franchise) interesting secondary missions and oddly interesting space theme. However this gets thrown off by the inconstancies of the setting; apparently in the vacuum of space you can hear things and survive for short periods of time? Come on Infinity Ward, you used to have an eye for detail.
The plot works quite well although I do suspect that's the Naughty Dog guys they brought in lending a hand but it is nice to have some good writing for a change. A stereotypical British villain and the notorious round it off. One point to note is the enemies in this game are pretty damn crazy and it is almost off putting and the time to kill initially is horrendously high, which is the cause of the slow pace to begin as you sit behind cover only to pop out occasionally to murder some loonies.
Honestly speaking though, this is the best Call of Duty campaign in a while.

Multiplayer, for me personally, is awful, yes it has a good pace (slightly slower than BO3) and yes it can be entertaining in small doses but I've never been less compelled to continue playing than I have with this. Hit boxes and lag are ludicrous and I am long past sick of being taken out by a sniper quick scope. Ice skating slides and Titanfall wall runs, combined with some awful weapon design, R3KT, really?? Make this game feel like they are quite literally being designed for eleven year olds, which is stale. Fast paced overall but stale, very stale.
The loadout system remains similar to Black Ops 3 and the game benefits as a result with the pick 10 system and rigs offering a good level of customisation options. another thing I dislike is the supply drops are sill here and that Activation seem to have allowed Infinity Ward to copy the loot styles and even font styles from Destiny - another game published by Activision, I refuse to let that be coincidental, they also keep along the specialist theme, which is again ripped from B03 and Destiny.

Zombies is fairly fun but again, ludicrous, Treyarch are the masters of the zombies and I'm not too fond of this attempt. It does add a fun feature where you play an arcade game to win your life back however this alone is not enough for me.

Combine this with a ten year old recycled engine that's using the same animations, physics and graphics from the Call of Duty games of old and I just find this to be so far below what it should be and it doesn't recapture the magic of the old Call of Duty games, playing it alongside the remastered modern warfare only highlights this.

In a year where the likes of DooM and Battlefeild 1 have redefined FPS games, Activision and Co. feel far, far behind in a genre they once dominated with their exquisite attention to detail and fast paced, well written story. really, with the kind of turnover that Call of Duty makes I would have expected a new engine, built from the ground up and the game isn't nearly as polished as I would like.

The Campaign is well written and the best in the series for a long time but is let down from being too short, 7/10

Multiplayer is almost a straight copy and paste of the previous iterations with elements of Destiny and Titanfall included, in intellectual terms that's called plagiarism, however there is small amounts of fun to be had but it's the same stuff at the core 3/10

Zombies supplies good fun but not nearly close to the standard of Treyarchs zombies, evidently an attempt to capture the same market and even as a long time zombies fan this doesn't reach par for the course, 4/10

Graphics are good, but far below par with modern standards, take a look at Uncharted, DooM, the Witcher or Battlefield for reference of what a next gen game should actually look like, especially with the cash that Activision and Infinity Ward have, 4/10

Overall, the game falls flat on delivering innovation but does reiterate the same Call of Duty things fans enjoy. By modern standards it's not good enough, not for titans like Activision and Infinity Ward, who once created legendary games, sadly I have to score this 4.5/10 overall which is a shame because I wanted it to be good.

But in comparison to other call of duty games this game is such a drop down it is unbelievable. I hated Ghosts but I still (eventually) reached prestige 10 on it. As it was playable and could have fun moments to it. However, it was heavily flawed. The arguments at the time was this was the first COD game on the next gen consoles so give it a break. However Infinite Warfare is just so much below Ghosts. The difference between Infnite Warfare to Ghosts is like the diffference between Ghosts and COD4. Its a huge step down.

Do not buy this game, you are mad if you do, stick with Black Ops 3. Given the 1000 prestige levels it had, and the million and one supply drop content there is still room to play. Infinite Warfare needs to be forgotten and just go down in history as the Batman and Robin, or Superman IV the Quest For Peace of the gaming world.

So I've put 20 hours into the game including single, multi, and zombies.
The single player is still just a mash up of set pieces with the same generic COD gameplay that has been around since 2 the plot was dull and generic, broken up by the odd space dogfight if you can call them that the space combat was very simplistic and dull all in all the story was just unengaging over all.

Multiplayer exactly the same as BO3 very same same and still has X-RAY vision the worst addition to any multiplayer game ever. the maps were exactly what you would expect from a modern COD game and i felt that the use of vertical-lity was implemented allot better with titanfall 2.

Zombies not gonna lie i find zombies to be very tedious and only played a few hours with friends but even so it hasn't really been improved from the older games.

Hence the overall score of 1 i found the only real enjoyment from the single player all be it not much the multi player was spoilt from the xray vision ans zombies is just the same-old same-old

Unfortunately, this series has been allowed to do very well financially based on this model for years, but Infinite Warfare could be the nail in the coffin. The game does nothing to innovate beyond its predecessors, and even more disappointing are the lack of fundamentals. A FPS game need not be rich in story (although it's a nice perk when they are) and they need not have a lot of new and interesting campaign or multiplayer modes (although this is also nice) IF the game gets the raw mechanics right. If the mechanics are off, no other aspect of a shooter can save it. Infinite Warfare lacks the mechanics and the games ends up feeling floaty and detached. Fortunately, there is a game that gets the mechanics down pat, in addition to a compelling campaign and interesting multiplater modes. Titanfall 2 is the best FPS for the PS4 and indeed the best FPS in many years. I've been playing shooters since DOOM in the early 90s and I haven't played a shooter as good as Titanfall 2 since the original Halo for xbox or maybe even Quake 3. Titanfall 2 is by far the better investment. It might not be as well advertised, but it is far better made. Skip Infinite Warfare and go for Titanfall Expand

There are no major improvements from previous games. Trying to throw space in to entice the audience doesn't work. Call of Duty made one game too many focused on the future. I'll bet they go back to the historical WW1, and 2 eras in the next two games. The future they've been sharing is a shallow story that just gets repeated.

Sega Saturn called it wants it's graphics back. This game is a joke. Activision has run it into the ground and now with the small hardcore player base they have left they're trying to suck them dry through supply drop scams. This is my favorite cod game since Black Ops 1. I hated advanced warfare and blogs 3, not a fan of the jet packing around. However, they nailed the movement in this game, it feels great. They reduced the TTK which makes it feel more like Modern Warfare and Black Ops 1. The leveling up is extremely satisfying.

As a whole package, all the praise should be going toward the single player experience, and I'd never thought I'd say that about a Call of Duty game in a long time. But in all honestly, it’s true. As for the multiplayer, it makes for an incredibly mundane and subpar experience that almost parodies itself. Completely making it very difficult to recommend the game as a whole.
