The game now is pay-to-win and is filled with all these gimmicks to help make crappy players somewhat decent (including poorly balanced lag compensation). In other words, the game is designed to maximize revenues through micro-transactions aided by increased accessibility to the broadest audience possible (i.e., not scaring away casual gamers). I believe this is beginning to turn loyal fans against the franchise because they feel slighted. I can honestly say this will be the very last Infinity Ward COD that I will buy. It is inferior to Treyarch in almost every way (graphics, movement, map design, connection quality, sound design, etc.). Plus, IW is proof-positive that the improvements between annual releases aren't great enough to justify the ever-increasing price tag especially when you consider unique gun variants only available through supply drops. Usually, I can justify the cost of a COD game based on the fun factor. However, I'm just not having fun with IW. Expand

From what I played in the IW campaign, I think it has the best graphics a single player mode has ever had in COD. the story though is generic and it's still a rail shooter. Follow dot to an area, kill everything that appears, go to next dot.

From what I played in the IW campaign, I think it has the best graphics a single player mode has ever had in COD. the story though is generic and it's still a rail shooter. Follow dot to an area, kill everything that appears, go to next dot.

Multiplayer is incredibly fun when it's not lagging. seems like the lag has gotten really bad since Ghost. hearing they got rid of the dedicated servers that AW and BO3 had is disappointing. there's nothing special about the weapons. all the maps are small enough where there's no reason to use an AR. this is very much an SMG game.

as for MW:R- yes, it's identical to the old game ... camping like crazy, OP unbalanced weapons, grenade spam, the noob tube unlocked at LVL 1, easiest quickscoping in the series, no customization, and dusty green-brown maps that are all undiscernable from each other. if you REALLY want to go back to that ... it's all there ... they stayed so true to the original that all the map and weapon glitches are still there ... the graphics are slighty better and they added Kill Confirmed.

I've never understood why COD4 gets the praise it does. I think it's just because it's the "thing" to do in the COD community. the next 5 games in the franchise are all thousands of times better. an old broken game that goes back 2 entire generations of consoles in it's limitedness. most of the people praising it in the reviews of this game are too young to have played it when it was new.

in 2006, Modern Warfare was an amazing, beautiful game that had unique gameplay and made fps'ers the most popular genre in gaming. that was 10 years ago :) ... the nostalgia of a "boots on the ground" game is fun for awhile, but it's beyond me why someone wouldn't want to play a newer game with so much more to do that's on the same disc.

Lastly- those saying multiplayer is "pay to win" are complete liars and probably BF fanboys haters. you can get enough points for a supply drop in like 3 games. there's fewer weapon variants than AW, and all of them can be earned for free if you grind the game enough. Also the disc contains both games, you don't need to enter a code in at the store to get MW:R. so if you do decide to sell your game in the future, MW:R will be totally available and functional.

The campaign mode is awasome and brilliant.

The multiplayer is a super super bad copy of Black Ops 3. And the multiplayer art make me sad.

I will continue playing Black Ops 3.

Like others here, I am absolutely disgusted by this game. What makes it worse is that if done correctly, it could have been great fun. But two things let it down badly, and are completely unacceptable.

Firstly - lag. You know the story, you see the enemy first, shoot them, your shots don't register and suddenly you're dead. When you watch the killcam it tells a different story entirely - they see you and shoot you while you run past them obliviously.

This could be fixed by having regional server selection. On Titanfall I am able to get 20ms ping, and never feel cheated. Whereas in COD all we get is a bar indicator. Further research shows that for a 5 bar rating all you need is less than 120ms. 120ms!! What are they thinking?

I've been killed so many times when I'm behind cover, or when I've shot first. Some games there's almost nothing I can do as the enemy don't seem to take any damage. It's just awful and makes me want to stop playing.

The second deal breaker is pay to win. All of the good guns cost about 7000 salvage to get to. You can get lucky and unlock them in a supply drop, however I'm prestige 4 and have only had one epic gun this way. It's down to luck, and to make it worse, you get duplicates. So even once you've unlocked a gun you might get it another 10 times.

When you get a duplicate it turns into salvage, so you can put it towards the gun you want. The problem with this - an epic gun costs 6700 salvage, as you have to buy the lower tier guns to get access to it. And salvage takes so long to earn that it literally takes weeks to get one epic gun. I'd have to give up my day job to play COD full time for years to unlock all the weapons.

And to make it even worse, they've just added in a new category of guns, mk2 variants. They're exactly the same as the other guns but give you 15% more xp. Big whoop. The problem is that you can't unlock these with salvage, it's all down to luck.

However, if you're an idiot, you can spend money on COD points. Some people spend 100s of pounds/dollars etc on these packs, and they are the people responsible for this crap. If nobody bought these packs we wouldn't be in this situation. And it's only going to get worse. These things creep in, and once here, they're here to stay.

The game is pure trash, which is a shame as when it plays well it's great fun. But that's rare, and due to these two game breaking issues, I am forced to give it a zero rating. Avoid like the plague, don't support this crap.

None other shooter game have told a story so touching and with such depth in the past few years. I think developers at IW really wanted to say something with it. War cost more than anyone's life could offer, it doesn't matter whether you fight for good or evil. I think that's what the title Infinite Warfare actual means, the price of war could be infinite, every one is expendable.
I see it as an antiwar game, even though it actually portrayed a war.
Many people has prejudged it only because it's set in the future, but I think this doesn't matter, it's still about human nature, about how people see things and the world, about how people live and fight. And I think it actually did even better than the MW series on this. MW build many legendary characters, but not really how they are as a person, which is exactly what Infinite Warfare has done.
Plus, the battles took place in the space, were absolutely epic.

Multiplayer was initially broken with game breaking lag and very quick time to kill. Now after putting a good few days into the MP and learning the maps, weapons, perks and traits I have changed my opinion. The lag seems to have improved with the many patch updates, that's not to say its gone but I feel I'm having far more decent games now and fair gun fights. The dev team are supporting the game relatively well and are on top of improvements and patches. They removed two maps to fix them which took longer than expected with Grounded still not making an apperance at the time of writing, but Genesis is back with the bugs fixed, which shows me they actually care about the game.

So how is it playing now compared to release? Much better. I'm finding the games to be very fun, skilled, fast paced and enjoyable. It is very addictive and one of the better futuristic cods. Much better than Blops 2, Blops 3, AW and Ghosts. I'd say its on par with MW3.

The new movement (once used to it) works very well. All weapons can do a good amount of damage and you can play well with them. Some of the maps are excellent such as Frost, Precinct, Genesis, Mayday and Frontier and play well on nearly all game modes. The larger maps however only tend to work with objective based gameplay and can slow the pace of the game right down.

There are some really decent weapons that feel good to use. Most weapons in the game are more than usable including sniper rifles. Shotguns need a bit of a boost and you still get hitmarkers and short range meaning they don't tend to play a role in the game.

Scorestreaks are too high. Getting the larger ones seems an impossible task considering spawns flip too easily meaning you get shot in the back a lot. If you run care package then you do get to ise the higher ones now and then but most games the highest scorestreak you see is the warden and then any below it. The warden is a bit of a pain and really I think the game would be better off without it. Lots of people run hardline rendering perk 2 slot useless as you really need it to achieve scorestreaks. The nuke is impossible, never seen one and the youtubers who've got them seem to be playing against the braindead (or their friends who just so happen to not be able to kill them). A pointless streak unless you are a booster.

Micro-transactions come in the form of supply drops. You can unlock them with keys instead of paying. You also get salvage which takes a long time to build up. Supply drops are way overpriced, and considering you have no idea if you are going to get that legendary you really want are not worth the money.

Despite its hang ups, IW is shaping up to be a really fun addictive game. The graphics are nice and colorful and bold. Multiplayer is the best we've seen since MW3 and I actually enjoy playing this COD. By no means better than MW2 (the best cod imo) but way better than the modern CODs.

It comes packaged with COD4 remaster, but it's aged badly and is no fun anymore, I've totally ignored it.

So if you want a fun MP experience with sharp addictive gameplay give it a go.

This game is absolutely amazing and I objectively give it a solid 10/10. It is simply incredible how people lie in to give this game disfavorable reviews. I am simply astonished, but I guess freedom of expression allows even this amount of falsity, all of you should be ashamed. People, DO NOT EAT THE BS, this is a perfect fps that brings the best gameplay the series has seen in a decade.

How people can vehemently disparage this game and recommend games like Battefield 1 is beyond my comprehension. Reading so many negative reviews almost makes me feel bad for having fun while playing this game. I'm 22 years old, have played just about all of the highest rated video games out there, and yet I'm still finding enjoyment in this game. It's NOT bad.

Has anyone giving this a 0,1, or 2 ever played a bad game? They are definitely out there, thousands and thousands of software worse than this, and yet they score higher. Why is this? I have to believe that many of the people leaving low scores on this site never gave the game a chance, and want to draw people towards the games they pre-ordered and purchased instead, justifying their choice of one of the three big FPS titles (four including Destiny).

A lot of people also choose to relate this game to the other CoD titles; comparing to the other CoD titles is ok when listing similarities and differences, but is that really a justification for such a low score? Not everyone has played ALL of the previous titles, so it seems more realistic to judge this as a standalone title, especially since it is not a sequel to any of the previous games in any sense of the word. If you come in expecting a different formula, referring to the simplified multiplayer, zombies, and action-movie hand-holding linear campaign, then you will be disappointed, and your negative experience is almost entirely your fault. This is why:

You don't by a cheeseburger and expect them to deliver you a salad. You don't order a Call of Duty title and expect Fallout. or Overwatch. or the classic Battlefields. or whatever.

The above is mostly rant, although that line about the cheeseburger is spot on ;)

    Now for the real critique:

IW by itself offers a ton of content for your $60 price tag, but unless you have no idea how sales or offers at places like Amazon, Gamestop, Ebay, or Steam work, you should not be paying that full $60. A more realistic price for this game is $40 by itself. For example, by using several Gamestop promotions, I obtained the Legacy Pro edition for around $30 (retail price at $120).
It has an adrenaline-fueled campaign with space combat, dog-fights, and lots and lots of big bad military enemies to shoot. It offers an interesting but familiar take on the classic zombies mode with an overwhelming amount of easter-eggs, and a multiplayer with fun game modes such as Defender (my favorite), Frontline, and the classic Domination, TDM, FFA, etc. The maps are colorful and lane'd in a way that provides controlled flanking, the spawns aren't incredibly useless, and the guns are mostly balanced (you don't see everyone using 1 particular gun).

My biggest issue with the multiplayer is the gun variants that offer perks and stat-boosts, although they give several ways to obtain these, and they aren't game-breaking improvements.

The campaign offers a hub-world hybrid on a big ship where you can walk around the ship and choose your next mission (there are even side-missions, which is always interesting). There's some moments of emotion, hyper-unrealistic points of climax, witty military banter, everything you'd expect in a space-war campaign. You'll enjoy it if you don't take it too seriously. I did find myself laughing at many of the "serious" parts, and that makes me like it even more.

TL:DR: The campaign is cheesy, the multiplayer and zombies are essentially recycled with updated visuals, pace changes, guns, and game modes; but that doesn't make it a bad game. 8/10 for me, I'll go have fun now. no regrets.

I will start by saying I haven't played or even tried a CoD campaign in 5+ years, strictly MP. This takes from what I considered the best CoD in years (Bo3) and speeds it up a little, feel like Bo3 but you have the health value like ghosts, which means you die quicker. It can also mean you get a really good streak going and if you are on your game can absolutely destroy. It's not innovative but if you liked Bo3 , or CoD in general its excellent and a refined version of the game.

MW remaster MP is also awesome, as it was years ago, loved revisiting that and can't wait to play more.

This game is a solid FPS multiplayer game. I am talking about the multiplayer part. I know that flying or sliding is not the best for so many old dinosaurs like me, but Infinity Ward gave me the feeling that it can be loved with right adjustments. I did not enjoyed exo-suits at all on AW, BO3 was meh, but IW feels nice and sharp.

The game is chaos, enemies coming from everywhere, but still, it gives you some room to do your own thing. Call it sniping, run and gun, camp and collect score streaks, be an aggressive player, or a supportive one. The maps, although some of them are really small, are build on the same principles like before. Asymmetrical designs here and there, some of them quite large and will probably get negative feedback, but literally all of them allows you to do your thing. There is not one map that I think is bad.

The feelings of the guns, both ballistic and energy based ones, are great. Very solid and you can literally feel the bullets that are hitting the enemy. In my opinion this is something which makes a good Call of Duty game. There are also the variants of the guns which has special perks on them. Just to give some examples, some variants have suppressors on them so you do not need to use an attachment slot, or they have the "ping" perk which highlights enemies that are near your last prey, or even some of them give you more experience when you earn points with them. Sniping is amazing and satisfying, and no, I am not talking about quick scoping.

There are a lot of to write, but do not let fanboy-ism or horse glasses to cloud your vision when thinking about what you should get. Do your research, know what you want, and then decide. I think Infinity Ward did a good job and I would like to thank them for their sweat and effort.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW - You can get weapon variants with Supply-drops, and you will be able to buy Supply-drops with real money, so there is a very disappointing "Pay to Win" like approach to the community here. Thank you very much Activision!

But MWR was my main reason for buying IW - my favorite CoD Remastered - a little tweaking and somehow it was looking and running as well as IW MP. Happy me.

As for IW MP, reminds me of a mix between Ghosts and AW/BO3, which is not entirely a good thing. Not my favorite CoD, but if the hardcore mp draws players it is good enough for me.

I only bought this cos the Legacy Edition was $25 on Amazon, and coupled with a $10 discount coupon on Prime Day and using my Chase rewards point, I basically got this for free. I really wanted to just play Modern Warfare but found out I gotta install Infinite Warfare to play MWR.

So I came into this game with ZERO expectations and oh boy was I taken on a wild, emotional ride! This is by far THE BEST CoD campaign since Modern Warfare. It introduced a lot new things in CoD that I appreciated. Space battles, simplified but fun. Being able to explore my base and having an office to view lore, audio and video logs and mission reports. Just being able to take a breather in between missions, to have in-game downtime, that was really amazing.

The writing and voice acting are superb! I connected with all the characters, especially after reading their personal bios. The cutscenes are the best I've seen in a CoD game, Naughty Dog levels of quality. The story as a whole gave me Battlestar Galactica/Band of Brothers/Mass Effect vibes and I was truly engaged from start to finish. Nick Reyes and Nora Salter had great chemistry and I really enjoyed playing Nick's role and feeling the burden of command.

The gunplay was solid and I actually got to know each gun and felt the difference between them. Most CoDs, I just get overwhelmed by the number and names of the guns but for some reason, Infinite Warfare made the guns more intimate to me. Truly, I felt like a soldier.

Overall, I had a blast playing the campaign. First class stuff. Just the right length, very tight experience. If I had known the quality of this game, I would not mind paying full price for it because not only did it have a superb campaign, I actually enjoyed the Zombies mode too!

Zombies mode's retro, campy feel coupled with a cool soundtrack made the experience a fun one. I only played Zombies solo but I find the challenge of survival and exploring the world for secrets while managing the zombie hordes so fun! Will definitely get the Season Pass when it goes on sale just to try the other Zombies maps (additional 4 DLC maps). I pIayed Zombies BLOPS3 when it was a freebie in June 2018 but I couldn't get into it. And BLOPS3 had the worst campaign (poor protagonist, bad voice actors, low quality cutscenes, confusing storyline, a tutorial that dragged too long) , I didn't finish it and gave me a bad taste so I uninstalled it.

I didn't have a chance to fully experience the multiplayer cos my PS+ sub just expired. Will only renew it if I can snag a 1-yr sub for $39.90 just like the previous 2 years. I don't really have high hopes however as I don't like CoD's fast time to kill (TTK) and frantic pace, and having to constantly look at the radar for enemies. I prefer Destiny's multiplayer PvP, but I might be surprised by IW. We'll see.

In summary, CoD Infinite Warfare and Infinity Ward have reignited my love for COD. Will definitely look forward to their next project. Hopefully, they will build on the ideas here and make their next campaign more revolutionary, like CoD 1&2.

Try it with an open mind, and judge it honestly for yourself. Semper fi.

What can I say, another year another disappointing, all too familiar Call of Duty release.

I'll begin with the positives as there are a few I'd like to go over for this years Call of Duty release. First up is the campaign, it's quite an improvement over the typical CoD campaign, while it does lack variety it makes up for that in making your actions feel like they have some weight to them for a change. Taking out enemy ships and choosing which target to strike next is fun and rewarding.

the story line is very typical of these games, nothing special with its big bad villain and oorah marines of old but it serves its purpose.

The ship you control during the dogfight is painfully simple but still manages to be a lot of fun, rarely did the game ever feel dull during the moments when I was allowed to fly a ship and take on the enemy. This is probably the biggest surprise of the entire game, it's a genuinely nice addition to the tired CoD franchise at this point.

Zombies mode is the most fun it has been in a long time, I always felt that it was getting too complex and convoluted following the story of the 4 characters the mode became heavily focused around. This years version somewhat simplifies it but keeps it fun. It feels as though it isn't as difficult to make it to the higher rounds now but still has a fair challenge to it. The hit detection has largely been improved too which is always a plus.

The multiplayer is pretty poor, while the gameplay feels fast and smooth it just feels as though there is too much going on once people start earning their kill streaks. On top of that the spawn system is awful, it was not uncommon for me to spawn in front of an enemy soldier or around the corner from the enemy team, this could be fixed but I highly doubt it will be. The maps feel mostly uninspired with the typical corners and corridors design being used once again that we've seen in pretty much every Call of Duty game since Modern Warfare.

Overall this game just doesn't do enough to justify yet another yearly release, Activision need to take a break and revitalize this franchise or it will continue to see its sales drop off from the previous years installments. The height of Call of Duty's success is over, it's no longer selling on name alone and it's time to earn gamers desire for this series back once again.

I didn’t believe the reviews but this is easily some of the worst COD multiplayer in the series. Who thought only 10 points per class was a good idea? It’s so limited it kills the game. Each custom load out is awful because the game makes you sacrifice so much just to have a single, fully equipped weapon. No other COD is this limited. What a horrible step backwards.

The start of Infinite Warfare had me impressed... it had me glued to the screen...
It was completely gorgeous, and then I run into freakin Jon Snow, and Im punched out by Connor Mcgreggor
And I thought, wow.. It doesn’t get better than this...
    And I was Right…
Because the rest of the campaign is awful…
I haven’t been around a call of duty game since ghosts… So maybe Advanced Warfare and Blackops 3 were worse... but as far as Im concerned... this is hands down the most boring first person shooter campaign ive played through ever as it completely lacks any variety…And the sad thing is that it doesn’t start that way... It creeps there…
As stated again, the beginning is great, and this game is gorgeous… You also take part in ship combat just as much as on foot… And this campaign is a record breaking 7 hours long…
But its padded out with the same boring side quests where you’re either going on foot into the same enemy ship over and over or getting into space battles that after you’ve experienced the first 3 are just no fun at all…
At first it’s thrilling and you can feel the smirks activision is giving at no man’s sky as you’re locking onto enemies and taking them out… and then you do it again.. And again…. And again…
The only redeeming quality of these side missions which really take up about 3 of the 7 hours is that they all feature collectibles in the form of actual characters... there are these wanted collectibles that attach a name and a face to random soldiers throughout different missions…
This is probably the coolest way to do collectibles and Id love to see it return in future games..
    This campaign isn’t all bad...
The beginning moments of the campaign also smacked me with so many epic moments... the story missions had character… But as soon as I became captain the game went downhill…
But who buys call of duty for single player besides me and like 3 other people…
I’m just saying once you get bored, and believe me.. You will...
Don’t drag yourself forward in hopes it gets better... because it doesn’t…
The gameplay... the shooting… the wall running…
All of it here feels bad... which is surprising...
Call of Duty’s running and guns have been the standard I judge other first person shooters with…
And they don’t even live up to their own standards here... variety is lacking, the robot enemies you fight throughout the campaign are bullet sponges which takes away the slicing through cheese satisfaction I expect from a call of duty campaign, and the jetpack and wall running ripped from titanfall feels garbage… They better rehire those guys to fix it for them and then fire them again after they have their secrets…. There’s no stickiness that makes it feel great in that game… it feels awkward every time you do it…
So you played single player for the 10/10 first 2 hour experience.. Rightfully got bored, let’s hop into some multiplayer…
You can either play zombies which this time is set in a 80s theme park, complete with the lingo and 80s music playing in the background…
    And of course competitive multiplayer…
And thankfully the multiplayer redeems as these maps are all greatly designed…
and fun to play in... At least in standard modes...
I’m not really sure what call of duty is going for with its spawn trapper mode front line
and I’m not a fan of the added gimmicks either...
If snipers weren’t annoying enough, now we have sliders and jumpers..
The jetpacks and sliding I feel add more variables of luck and cheap tactics that you don’t deal with in simple run and gun style…
The wall running can stay as it keeps the gameplay even more fast paced than usual…
But my targets getting away from me by sliding or flying around is more of a nuisance than a cool added element to strategy…
If it’s not broke don’t fix it..
There’s a reason were craving competitive shooters set in the past rather than the future…
In the case of this genre... the simpler the better…
Overall Infinite Warfare is a let down…
New maps are all it has going for it…
I give Call of Duty Infinite Warfare
    a 7/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is the worst Call of Duty game do date. Not only does the game's campaign and multiplayer mode feel bland, uninspired and unfinished, it is also far too similar to last year's Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. While Black Ops 3 brought innovation to the series, Infinite Warfare feels more like a worse copy of the same game. The campaign's story feels like the average ''America is the hero''-style Call of Duty campaign and just feels like it was made by a lazy, uninspired, dated development studio.. The multiplayer blatantly copies the specialist system from Black Ops 3, the only change here is the name for the specialists and specialist weapon/ability in general have changed, the specialists now renamed to ''rigs'' and specialist abilities like Vision Pulse, Kinetic Armor and Glitch are now renamed to be Pulsar, Reactive Armor and Rewind respectively, whilst others haven't received ANY name changes at ALL like Combat Focus, Active Camo and Overdrive. All-in-all this multiplayer feels like an unfinished mess and the heavily pushed Supply Drop system, unfinished leaderboards, boring, ugly maps and combat record do not compliment this either. Similar to the multiplayer and campaign in being uninspired (and copying Black Ops 3 once more) is the zombies mode. Infinite Warfare's zombies mode might be the best thing in Infinite Warfare, but it's not great either.. The mode takes most of it's good characteristics from sister developer Treyarch's classic zombies mode like it's perk system, wave-based mode, boss rounds, starting room weaponry and traps, yet still feels unfinished and boring.. perhaps Infinity Ward should stray away from making zombies.. and Call of Duty games in general. The fact that all of the original team at IW left is really showing at this point, because their campaigns thus far have been average as hell. The multiplayer is average, ok, serviceable. Titanfall 2, BF1, and MWR all have far superior multiplayer experiences than what this shell of a package could offer. Multiplayer: I'm gonna have to admit that this is the worst in the series. Though fun at times, there are still allot of issues that need addressing. The tight angle map designs, inconsistent spawns and lag-compensation ruins the experience of how COD shooter should play. I think if the devs work on these problems, it shouldn't feel that bad. Infinite warfare forces you to play slower and wittier... this sort of mechanic worked well in Modern Warfare, but not infinite warfare. The maps feel very tight and much more appropriate for a fast-twitch sort of shooter.

First of all, the campaign is amazing! The quality of the voice acting, sound design, and cinematography make for a truly pleasant experience. And the story is good as well. They put a lot of well spent effort into this part of the game.

Secondly, the multiplayer is great once you get used to the maps and the maps are good except for a couple. My only complaints are that the shotguns are absolute **** and the options for secondary weapons are kind of meh. Except for the Oni thats amazing.

It really is a lot of fun and the rigs make for a lot of unique gameplay that honestly feels new. There is one ability where you can literally phase into another dimension and avoid damage. Like thats cool.

Dont listen to the hate. Try the game out for yourself before you bash it.

Campaign was amazing. great characters and very good story telling.

Multiplayer - It's okay, I don't know why people are crying so much about it, feels like BO3 too me.

Zombies- I'm not a zombies fan at all. However I did enjoy it. The 80's theme was cool but it got boring for me.

    Call of Halo...

It has better advanced movement mechanics for the call of duty games, but it's horribly bland. The weapon types between the standard bullet guns, and the electronic weapons are basically just a visual change and could have had a substantial reason to choose them over the other weaponry.

If you look at all the "negative" reviews, they are can barely be called reviews, and look more like extensions of the hate-filled comments and dislikes you'd normally see on YouTube. All coming from a particular audience, which, more often than not, acts very childish and entitled. Add here a modern trend to be disliking CoD games and the hype/antihype culture of most media, and you get a flashmob of angry and entitled gamers pouring their "grief" into their "reviews".

All that said, here's my attempt on a review of this game. I am an active gamer, but I have not played every Call of Duty game out there. Back in the day MW2 was my favorite back in the day, then I tried BO (to see if all the hype was true - it wasn't) and last year I tried BO3 (which I thought was a mess story and multiplayer-wise). Having seen the first IW trailer I wasn't impressed either, but then again, I did not have any expectations or wasn't even sure I'd ever play that game. What made me buy it after its release was a word-of-mouth of a friend and couple of other people saying that the campaign was amazing and was probably one of the best in the series. Now I was curious to try it.

I finished the campaign in about a week, not rushing through, but enjoying the level design, the dialogues, the characters, the weapons, the music. Basically, tried to allow the game to impress me. And boy it did! The graphics were amazing, the story and the writing were solid (one still has to remember that yes, it's a game, yes, it's about heroism and selflessness - and there's nothing wrong with that), the music was superb, the gameflow and mechanics all were interesting and captivating! And maybe part of the reason is that I am neither a CoD series-fan nor was expecting anything from the game, but one has to be blind and delusional to deny to the last accord that Infinity Ward made a great job! The other game modes (multiplayer and zombies) were also relatively new to me and thus interesting, but the campaign is the game's crown jewel IMO.

It should be always remembered that different people have different tastes and somebody may not fancy a space-themed FPS game with a CoD name on it. Nor may someone get what they were expecting, if they want a game to be both same and new and interesting and epic and have new modes and tropes, but still be the good-old CoD. It's not possible. Just relax, at the end of the day it's a video game. If you did not like it, it's OK. It doesn't mean that the game is necessarily horrible. Definitely not this game.

Sorry for a long review, I just wanted to share my experience and satisfaction of the game. Totally going to be replaying that campaign. 9/10

When comparing this to the impressive amount of fun and enjoyable shooters in 2016, this Call of Duty seems to really struggle to stand out among them, despite the fact that it has the biggest name in videogames right now plastered on it, which is why I will be comparing all the elements of this game to other games and talking about why this Infinite Warfare is worse. In terms of story, this game is hopelessly outmatched by the silly action movie fun of Titanfall 2. While Titanfall 2 uses its ridiculous premise to its advantage and tells a story that just wants to make the player have a good time, Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare struggles with its own tonal consistency. For example, the game tries to portray the antagonists as in a gray area between good and evil, but instead of having a main villain that compliments these features, they just made a black and white simply evil villain. In terms of mechanics, DOOM crushes Infinite Warfare every time. Infinite Warfare made some interesting movement mechanics that could work if they were implemented well into the story and missions, but instead of doing that, the game doesn't really take advantage of them by using them to create unique level design layout, or do anything with them besides include them. DOOM, on the other hand, uses each of its mechanics to create the feeling of stomping through hell annihilating everything in your path. If the player was forced to stop every few seconds to hide behind cover it wouldn't feel like a rampage, and the game wouldn't have the same sense of power as it does by using the glory kills to keep the player constantly moving forward and smashing everything. Not to mention that in DOOM there are actual variety in environments and level layout, instead of in Infinite Warfare where only one mission does anything remotely interesting in terms of variety, and it's Operation: Dark Quarry. I like it because the enemies fight differently than all other enemies in the game. Instead of shooting from a distance, they constantly run at the player, which means that this mission involves learning how the enemies attack before getting good enough to effectively destroy them. The space combat in Infinite Warfare is fine, but gets stale quick and this is an issue because a lot of the game is spent in these ships. There is no reason to play Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare because there are superior shooters from 2016, so I'm going to give this game a 3 out of 10. Expand

The last good cod. Looks good, easy to run. Fresh and new gameplay vs other cods. One of the best campaigns with good mechanics. This and MW2 are the paragons of what each of them does best. If you took the best from both you would have the best cod.

Not as bad as people say but not that great. Campaign is decent with different mechanics but the multiplayer and zombies is just boring.

I'm assuming most of the dissatisfaction of this game came from 1.) how Modern Warfare Remaster is packaged, 2.) the multiplayer, and 3.) the jaded CoD players that has played every CoD as it came out...

Well, none of those negatives bother me since 1.) I picked up the Legacy edition for $42 so a brand new game with a great remaster together for $42 is worthwhile.2.) Don't care for

My review is pretty much of the campaign and zombie mode and I have the following pros and cons:
    Campaign:
+Characters are for the most part pretty good. Ethan especially.
    +Space combat is quite fun.
    +Hacking bots is fun.
=Story is a bit bland. Although it had some great moments.
=Aerial combat is fun but can get repetitive.
-Levels are a bit too choreographed, but that is how Call of Duty games are. This can be good I guess because it flows like a continuous playable movie.
    Zombie
++Local co-op, there's just not that many split screen co-op anymore in this genre. I applaud them for including this mode.

I think this is a good game. Campaign is popcorn fun, though the weird graphical disparity b/w the cut scenes and actual gameplay is a bit jarring. MP seem solid with some interesting maps. As always, the progression system has nice depth which makes persistence worthwhile.

I'm a FPS MP fanatic at heart and thus am compelled to buy the best of the season, year after year, of this

Truthfully, TF2 is just a better game all around, both in campaign and MP. BF1 is a better games as well, but comparisons here really aren't fair due to completely different settings and overall style of game.

Still, though, I'm enjoying IW for what it is.....a clean, fast paced, polished shooter that's easy to pop in and out of my console b/w longer gaming sessions.

    THIS IS ONLY CAMPAIGN REVIEW.
I am playing in Call Of Duty for campaign. I like Black Ops 2 multiplayer but in general not interested. Infinite Warfare is not bad as everyone is saying. Actually, I hate that internet community who is hating just to hate and be in the crowd. But game is flawed. And with every COD I am expecting good action packed B movie adventure. Here developers got different approach to game, other than before. They made good sense of open world and that you can travel to very planet and beat side quest missions. I love that. And I love space battles gameplay, although after time it feels repetitive.
But game feels in general same. I mean gameplay, character feel and sound design. Game did not impress me and I was bored at times. Characters did not interest me. Maybe because I am not big sci-fi fan.
If you like me and care only about campaign I suggest you to rent a game from Red Box and you can beat that game in one set or couple days depends how you play.

This game is really fun, has good graphics and sounds, the mechanics are spot on too. Offline bots, couch coop are both excellent. The wall jumping, parkour is great too.

Another year, another Call of Duty. Although this time, it's the worst in the series.
The only positive thing about this game is that there can't possibly be a worse CoD, surely...?

to dando nota 5 e me sentindo generoso

As a whole package, all the praise should be going toward the single player experience, and I'd never thought I'd say that about a Call of Duty game in a long time. But in all honestly, it’s true. As for the multiplayer, it makes for an incredibly mundane and subpar experience that almost parodies itself. Completely making it very difficult to recommend the game as a whole.

Good old Infinity Ward is back and not just with Modern Warfare Remastered! The single player campaign (the best in years!) alone is enough to give Infinite Warfare a chance. Just like with Doom and Titanfall 2 I expected nothing from the game and was shocked with how good it turned out to be. [13/2016, p.34]

The action is so fast, and the time to kill so low, that anyone outside of the hardcore COD audience is in for a rough ride. [Jan 2017, p.110]
