    I don't know why this game is rated so poorly by people, this is an exceptional COD game and I think it is an extremely good game, and I've played every COD since BO1 (with the exception of IW and AW) and trust me, this is high quality gameplay.
    The exclusives for PlayStation really aren't worth complaining over, it's to be expected, and the XP boost is really not a big deal. (oh yeah and    I don't know why this game is rated so poorly by people, this is an exceptional COD game and I think it is an extremely good game, and I've played every COD since BO1 (with the exception of IW and AW) and trust me, this is high quality gameplay.
    The exclusives for PlayStation really aren't worth complaining over, it's to be expected, and the XP boost is really not a big deal. (oh yeah and I play on PC so you know I'm not just sucking up to PlayStation)

    Zombies is by far some of the most fun I've had since BO3 zombies, which is to say it's great, albeit the initial bugs are rough and numbers could use tweaking with the armor system drop rates in late rounds.
    (soloing the Easter egg was tough but I beat it and trust me, it's worth a try for any zombies enthusiast. I absolutely loved multiplayer. Though the game is currently lacking maps, that will probably be fulfilled soon. I also immediately fell in love with sniping in this game, and many other guns run great as well, and balancing can be fixed if one or two guns are too strong or too weak, but I think every weapon has its own strength, and adding the opportunity for everyone to have a shotgun is actually pretty fair and offers everyone the same capabilities in close range. Overall I think the movement feels great and plays similar to BO3 but with a new faster sprint in place of jumping high with jetpacks. Right now, my only complaints are that leveling up is insanely slow on weapons, there are only a few maps (which can be good because you only have to learn a few at a time), and the amount of bugs still in game, but all of these things will likely change or improve over time with new season releases and everyone working to point out bugs. Overall, this game is probably just rated bad like every other game was because everyone has the "new COD bad" mindset every year. It's like how everyone said shadows of evil was a bad map at BO3's launch, but now almost any avid zombies player would have said its easily A tier or S tier. I love this game and it feels nostalgic while also feeling like a new COD.    … Expand

    The COD campaign used to be known for a pretty decent story. Funny quips, good drama. This one feels hollow. The jokes fall flat, the righteous indignation contrived. I just get the feeling that someone wanted to write America bad, socialists good story. They did a terrible job.
    Multiplayer is fun so far, but I imagine hackers will ruin it shortly.

    Such a waste of my money, the game is awfully bad! Graphics are bad, game mechanics, visuals and general gameplay is bad, multiplayer is lacking modes and all of it is a downgrade from previous titles, I don't understand how a company lets this be released. Zombie mode? Terrible!

    Yikes, absolute sad mess of a game for the price they charge. Glitches, text mistakes, overpowered guns, **** net code and too much more to type. Stay away till they fix some of it and try to salvage this turd of a cod

    Every gun has stupid slow bullet velocity and that allows SMGs to challenge assault rifles in mid to long range fights since they have higher rate of fire than most rifles. Also the pattented treyarch 3lane maps with 90 degree turns every 20 meters compound the problem even more. Most gun fights happen on the range    MP feels like its 5 years late. This would have been ok but bland in 2015.

    Due to the scorestreak system your first 26 ranks are utter stupidity. You spawn take 2 steps and die to a airstrike, chopper, chopper gunner, artillery strike or cruise missile then respawn and the same thing happens again. If you thought that killstreaks were annoying in MW in this its 10 times worse.
    Also Moscow and Miami maps are for some reason absurdly large for 6v6. They are probably larger than Grazna Raid in MW and its sized for 10v10. Also they are full of treyarch 90 degree turns after 20 meters. You never know where the battle is and the spawns spin like roulette tables in vegas.
    Combined Arms is almost enjoyable but in armada the amount of turret boats should be reduced to 1 per side and team in assault gamemode.

    Secondly the ps4 version graphics are remarkably disgusting The movement is horrible(clunky, slow)
    Campers are annoying(like normal)
    Health is garbage. If you get into one gunfight and have another immediately after, go ahead and chalk that up as a loss. Lastly leveling up takes and eternity even while playing on 2XP

    I don't agree with all the comments I see, and I am the first one who actually really critic when we are talking about videogames, I never liked Call of Duty in the last 5/6 years (except for the last one that I found it pretty enjoyable too), but this time, Call of Duty got something a bit fresh and different from the other chapters!

    The campaign is interactive and full of action, with some stealth missions, more than the other chapters, although it's short and it's the stereotypical story where americans are heroes and the rest of the world is evil (a bit of less in this chapter, even though it's still like this, but I don't want to spoiler, if you will play this game you will understand why), this time you got multiple choices through that could change the ending or the scenarios, for me this campaign it's full of surprises, really fun, unpredictable and more than enjoyable!

    Zombies are meh, just 1 map, the gamemode where you need to survive around random multiplayer maps or the chance to play another map with the visual from the top that I find it quite boring.
    Die Machine it's fine, but after playing 2 hours I found it boring too, it's basically the same as the old gamemode zombie I used to play on Black Ops with a map and a story that didn't intrigued me that much, but it's cool, better than nothing.
    Hope to see more in future maps.

    About multiplayer, well, you are all right, it's the same boring sh*t we are seeing since the first CoD Black Ops, except some new gametypes mode, like that one copied from Battlefield but exported in the typical Call of Duty gameplay.

    If you like spionage and the Cold War History buy it, but wait until price drops cause 70$ for this game it's really too much since after the campaign mode you will get bored quickly.

    Im done with this game, it feels cheap i knew the multiplayer is trash the first time i saw the trailer its bo4 with better graphics and stupid guns feel , but my only hope was the zombie and **** they fked it up so hard that it feels like a roblox map with stupid ideas i swear i played better maps in roblox

    What happened bud. Auto aim for console is practically an aim bot. Maps are fine but spawn killing is already outrageous. Guns are overall fine as long as you’re not fighting a team of mp5-ers. I’m not a game critic but I’m more disappointed in this than I was mw. Feels like a 60 dollar zombies game

    I gave it a 4 for the campaign, multi-player on the other hand deserves 0. Guns are seriously wonky, game feels floaty, not to mention the xm4 is super weak. Nothing about the multi-player is fun.

    Most of the reviews are misleading. Most reviews say the graphics are bad and look like an xbox 360 game. That is obviously false if you look at gameplay. Most reviews mention OP weapons even though thats in every cod. This game is good but cod fans are blinded by nostalgia and think every little thing must be perfect or it's a 0

    This game is literally unplayable with friends, crossplay or not. The chat audio is terrible and most of the time you just cannot hear one person in the party. My friends and I have tried more than 10 times in the last hour to play zombies together and have never been able to start without one person getting kicked. This game is terrible

    This game hardly runs on ps5. Multiplayer is garbage, campaign is boring, zombies crashes and drops to 15 FPS on the NEW PS5! I’ve had enough of this dev. They are lazy, and Sony should do something about it.

The Black Ops Series was ever not Good like BO3, 4 and now CW. I change back to MW now bcs MW are the best series. How can i be so bad i have Pre purchased that "Game" Every lobby is the same.     Complete trash just like modern warfare last year. Its all about 3 lanes and funneling through the choke points, cant climb on objects that are waste high, no sniping spots. Its literally APEX but on COD.garbage. Returned after 2 hours and got $27 credit. Do not waste your money. COD is dead.

    CAMPAIGN: This is amazing, I actually enjoy this game so much. The campaign is incredibly interesting, fighting communists all throughout the world pursuing the mysterious Perseus. The gun play feels great, typical Call-Of-Duty type gun play, and the mission structure is amazing! Now, there are collectibles in the mission, which allow you to unlock new side missions, which can influenceCAMPAIGN: This is amazing, I actually enjoy this game so much. The campaign is incredibly interesting, fighting communists all throughout the world pursuing the mysterious Perseus. The gun play feels great, typical Call-Of-Duty type gun play, and the mission structure is amazing! Now, there are collectibles in the mission, which allow you to unlock new side missions, which can influence how different events occur, and change how the game ends. The graphics are insane, amazing explosions and structure destruction. The only issue I have is the dead bodies have no dismemberment or bullet holes after being shot, but that is fine when the gunplay makes up for it. This campaign is incredibly memorable, and I love it. Much better than any of the previous games such as WWII, and arguably better than the new Modern Warfare as well. They also removed that useless weapon mounting option, thank goodness!

    MULTIPLAYER: The gun play, shooting, and map design is typical call of duty, but what is special, is the large-scale battle maps where you can commandeer tanks, mortar, bikes, snowmobiles, and other vehicles. This gives it a more battlefield vibe, and it works perfectly. Amazing gun play, gun sound effects and the overall feeling is great. The execution animations are a little long, but its amazing!

    ZOMBIES: This zombies is less outrageous, and more based upon the scare factor, like the old Call of Duty games. Maps aren't as extravagant, and you will find yourself in dark hallways every once in a while, but its definitely good. This zombies depends upon whether you enjoyed the COD BO3 type of Zombies, or the old school nostalgic COD World at War zombies mode. Overall, buy this game. Its actually one of the best Call of Dutys I have ever played.    … Expand

    It would be alright for a game that maybe costs $20 but it's $70 for next-gen consoles! People who paid for the regular $60 version and have an Xbox series x now have crashing consoles because Activision doesn't care about their games. Short pathetic campaign and the multiplayer is slow.

Multiplayer is a step down from MW and the graphics are horrible. It breaks immersion when you’re shooting an enemy and a big health bar pops up above them and blocks the view behind them.     I only bought the game for couch coop... At launch, no offline, after the update, there is none. What a disappointment this is my last cod game. The ttk is a good middle ground and the multiplayer maps are better than the last one. Zombies got updated but now feels too easy and the buildables/Easter egg got simplified.

Having attachment is like putting potatoes to your gun. Trowing a grenade is like him trowing a stone of 20lb , everything is slow, not making it fast pace game, made it so boring sloppy. Perk system its fine, this game should be called CALL OF DUTY BLACK OP SPY PLANE, if you not level 17 you gonna have a hard time finding people since a spy plane its always being called unless you got a 90-100lb of rockets launcher in your back. ZOMBIES:
    This is the worst **** that CALL OF DUTY EVER MADE lol.
    This is a joke. Putting damage system like its apex legends? Its really wack you have zombies at wave 10 out running you the dogs are the most annoying **** the dog round is so disgusting, putting the whole place in a green neon bright color you cant even see **** even if you got stamina the dogs still out run you, if you kill them, now you have to worry about the aftermath (aka explosive radiation). Again the way you shoot and aim its very cluncky, you can’t survive a game to wave 30 without you having a wonder weapon or ray gun. Stamina makes you run from 2 sec to 5 secs. Its a mess. Then you have a boss of around 8k-9k that 2 shots you with his fist after that lol wtf he splits and now you have two bosses of 8k of health each like wtf is that. The only mode that is currently very fun is Onslaught. Thats is more balanced. IN CONCLUSION: This game was clearly rushed. Treyarch had an opportunity to wait a while and make it like modernwarfare but make it better then that such as, making 3 line maps because everyone dislikes huge maps, but ofc they dont listen, making the guns like modernwarfare did, and keep the perk system that cold war offers. Making it fast pace. This game is like CALL OF DUTY MOBILE but upgraded with ps4 graphics, the graphics of this game looks like ps3 graphics. loading assets takes a lot time. This for me I thought that MW was garbage but this game is straight dog **** MAJOR BUGS THAT MAKE THE GAME EVEN WORSE:
    • At time the controller would disconnect and start flashing making it unable to connect back to ps4 so you have to turn the whole ps4 off. The only way to fix this, is to go to setting>controller> go to the option where is say connect controller wireless or with a usb cable, the problem here, is that you wont be able to use your mic, and you have to stay connected with the usb cable on the ps4 dualshock.
    • The game is disconnecting a lot in zombies or “connection interrupted” And it lags a lot around round 15-17. • When people talk on the mic it like breaks making unable to understand what their saying.    … Expand

The graphics Is awful, i cannot distinguish an enemy from the background. I reset my TV, my PlayStation only to hope that the graphics of the beta was not in the finished version. I was wrong.     I play Call of Duty for zombies so that's my bias. The campaign is pretty good, dare I say one of the best campaigns I've played from COD, the multiplayer is pretty much what you expect. Another COD multiplayer. None of them are particularly outstanding, not even the latest modern warfare. The zombies is incredible. I have played every zombies since BO1 and this has some huge potential.I play Call of Duty for zombies so that's my bias. The campaign is pretty good, dare I say one of the best campaigns I've played from COD, the multiplayer is pretty much what you expect. Another COD multiplayer. The rest of the game I feel is about a six or seven, COD doesn't get me excited anymore, they're just generic shooters and this is done as well as any other imo.     Don't buy this game. It disconnects you from zombies without rewarding you. Multiplayer has only 8 maps and the fps differences between the maps is big. Campain is ok but the rest is boring. Bad game in general.

Sure the game plays more arcady but as long as it’s more fun that’s all you should really care about.

Haven't played much zombies but it feels like it's fighting itself, trying to be how it was originally and trying to be Infinite Warfares zombies.     Very disappointing. I loved the 2019 MW, and expected something similar, but this is just not there. Shallow story and short campaign, worse graphics than MW, and some small bugs on XB1X. Bought the disc luckily, hope I can sell it for a good price.

    I have no idea how the game is! It will not let me f**king play it! I got past the start screen ONCE! It let me play 30 minutes of Zombies cause it would not match with anyone in multiplayer. Then would not let me match again in Zombies! I want my money back you f**king crooks! Never ever buying another COD game again!

    Despite trying something new, the game does not deliver on the ambition. The multiplayer is far more frustrating than previously and the gun customization has been neutered down.

    Do not buy, keep playing Modern Warfare. If you do not have Modern Warfare 2019; it will be the better option both for single and multiplayer.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. -Campaign: As a sequel to Black Ops 1, the campaign is really good! It has interesting characters and also a cool newcomer, Russell Adler. Woods, Mason, Hudson and CO. are great! The storyline is pretty good where you go after the Soviet Agent Perseus. The locations where it is set are also interesting.
    However, as most of COD Campaigns, this one has 10 Missions and is 5/6 Hours long.

    -Zombies:
    The Zombies are lit. My favorite Zombies Map is Kino der Toten, however, Nacht der Untoten comes close! I had lots of fun with randoms and friends fighting the Undead!

    -Multiplayer:
    Multiplayer feels like a step back from MW2019. It is as always lots of fun with friends and the new Modes are also good. Although, the MP5 is just way too op and everyone uses it. I liked most of the maps, but on Miami were lots of campers.But in Overall, Multiplayer was lots of fun with my friends and we really enjoyed VIP Escort.

    A complete shame. No splitscreen for zombies and splitscreen is a total disaster in mp. Black stripes on the screen and game crashes after 3 min of splitscreen mp. Even makes my ps4 pro crash. A total insult to the whole community. This is a shame. I regret buying this game and won't buy any more COD. My grandma would have done better crap than this God rest her soul

    And the problems with crashes also the server performance is so bad that the TTK feels often like MW. And i wouldn't recommend to buy the game at full price to anyone. The Game is unacceptable for 60/80 euro it feels like an early access game. Then the Camos look bad muddy and are just copy pasted from BO2 without optimization. Also the exp to lvl your weapon / grind attachments are so low that it takes forever to get them. And the standard multiplayer Operator need to be unlocked through missions, It's as if they put all that **** grind into the game so that you overlook it's serious lack of content.

    Then the Map visibility is just bad and enemys blend too much into the enviroment often and Cold War itself feels really like i bought a 60 euro Early Game...

    It's so ridiculous i feel ripped off so hard. And when someone comes and thinks "But it just released a few days ago" First of all you are the reason that Activision released that **** You also don't go to your stylist and pays him 50$ and he just cuts 5 strands of hair.

    Like i said i really feel ripped off and i only bought it because i liked the "Beta" (Which in fact was not a **** Beta) and i really really regret buying it.

    After one year of suffering with MW Treyarch is back. Campaign is awesome, fun and mind blowing, Multiplayer is Black ops 1 + Black ops 3, 4 so its fun, chaotic, full of action. Zombies are awesome too.
    I am glad Treyarch is back and I cant wait for content what come this year.

Campaign is fairly not bad, Zombie mod is fun, but multiplayer... It's a horrible mess! Gunplay is far far far away from being good; and, Yo! Treyarch!     You can turn back around and wait another 10 years for a good one if you love CODMW but dislike the rest.

I’ve only had the game for a day and this is the most disappointing call of duty I’ve ever played the campaign was so good up until the end where they pull a plot twist that felt really out of its place and you never really get to know the characters well
    Mason and woods were basically side kicks and didn’t do much in the main story

    The multiplayer is terrible the maps have no flow at all and there’s to many door ways and windows, every time I see someone and try to aim I’m already dead because two people walked up behind me And even if you shoot first half the time you die anyway and all of the guns are either so op that they’re broken or they do such little damage your better off fighting with an MRE spoon and they only have 8 maps at launch which yeah there’s probably gonna be more but that is just lazy

    The zombies feels like serious Sam but that’s about it.

    Over all I want my 60 dollars back and I I wouldn’t recommend this game at all just watch the radbrad play the story if you wanna see it that bad    … Expand

The campaign is pretty boring and there is no weapon customization at all sadly, but you have a hq....idk why even put a hq if I can't hear up before a mission. Also on the ps4 there is a terrible bug that bricks your controller. It won't work or even respond to anything unless you turn off the system. Zombies are fun tho.     Graphics are early PS3 looking. Mechanics are somehow worse than previous games in the black ops series. If truly SBMM exists, it’s terrible to play with friends on different skill levels. Disbanding lobbies is one of the worst features. Quite a lacklustre game. Campaign was decent and zombies are good.

    Yeah the game feels a bit empty of content but the campaign is wonderful multiplayer is good and zombies are excellent

You can't blame the coronavirus for this either, because virus or not, these games seem to never be complete at launch, and then give up on updates a month in the yearly cycle. I don't think it's worth $70, there's no content! You're paying for a beta, basically. So do yourself a favor and save your money.     I would give a 0 but zombies is actually fun but since theres only one map it gets a 3.

    You can definitely tell this game had a rough development.

    Hopefully they fix and add more stuff very soon.

    Not worth full price.

No. If you're on the fence about the game wait for black friday or christmas. If you’re inclined to get it, then get it, the game is fun!! Plus new content is coming in fast with nuketown and new zombies and gameplay improvements. All in all, I really like the game and feel that it going back to older type cod, but making it fresher is a good thing and not a bad one. Campaign: I like playing the campaigns of shooter games and BO 1 and 2 together with Halo and Titanfall 2 are still my favorite Campaigns in the whole    So im having some mixed feelings about this game.     1. Campaign: I like playing the campaigns of shooter games and BO 1 and 2 together with Halo and Titanfall 2 are still my favorite Campaigns in the whole genre. This one, starts off pretty strong with some interesting ideas, though never gets with it anywhere. I think the best example would be the inflitration mission into the KGB HQ. They say "we need to get in it", so you play a KGB double agend and your mission is to get a keycard for the elevator, so can let Adler and you inside. My main problem was, we are talking about the main building in the capital of the ussr. They never explain how they even managed to get beneath that building. Second you get the sense of freedom, because there are multiple ways to get a card, but when you finish one of them, the others become unavalable and unimportant. Also there is never an aftermath. You are shooting up the KGB HQ for gods sake and there is no word about political tension or how they managed to get out of the city and country. Kind of dissapointing tbh. The mission ideas are great, but overall to short and not fulfilled.

    2. Zombies: Only one map unfortunatelly, but still incredebily fun and one of my main reasons next to the stroy , why i bought the game.

    3. Multiplayer: Oh yeah, the game had a multiplayer. I totally forgot! Jokes aside, it is pretty standard CoD, i think. Standard classes and weapons. Standard killstreaks, though these are now point streaks. I have to say compared to what i saw with the Modern Warfare remake, its quite underwhelming, since they went with a more Battlefield approach to the game, which was interesting, since it looked a little bit fresh coming out of the dead cow that is Call of Duty.

    I mean, eh, what do you expect out of the multiplayer? It has been the same for the past 15 years and will probably stay like that for the next. You can actually see that they saw what MW did and paniced, i guess, and threw in some bigger maps with vehicles. I guess it was fun the first couple rounds but i dont see myself playing for that long tbh.

    In conclusion. pretty mediocre. Campaign could have been awesome, since the great ideas where there, but the missions feel very short and the twists are not really that interesting compared to for example BO1. I already felt sick buying the game, because my money went to Activision, but i wanted to give CoD a chance since i grew up with World at War and MW. But alas, i guess thats how CoD is now. Not bad, but definitely not great either. Last CoD i will buy in the next 10 years, for sure.    … Expand

    Unlike Modern Warfare, this game is NOT for scrubs. It isn't a campfest that allows you to camp in windows or high platform vantage points everywhere for free kills and that's why it's getting such low scores. This is what Call of Duty USED to be 10 years ago, and it's finally back.

    Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War ends up mirroring what the Call of Duty franchise offered last year, with some new additions that are also welcome, especially for long-term fans. While being set during a very intense period, the campaign ends up erring for its disappointing longevity, even though the value of repetition is intrinsic to it. Zombies are back in style, while multiplayer gains an excellent new mode, but here it errs again for the arsenal's lack of variety.

    While Cold War is a part of a series I would have said that I loved, I can’t fully embrace it now knowing that this work is trucking in harmful stereotypes via patriotic-tinged gameplay. A decent CoD multiplayer experience will likely emerge from the currently-underwhelming Cold War, but I’m going to seriously consider whether that gameplay is worth enduring (and supporting) the rest.
