    Wow!!! I didn’t think they were able to pull it off but black ops 4 proves that cod can still provide the action and gritty war game that fans want. Blackout is on a whole new level and great addition to the game multiplayer comes back and is still great, and the zombies is fun and challenging like we’ve never seen before. I can’t say this is the best cod game to come out recently but thatWow!!! I didn’t think they were able to pull it off but black ops 4 proves that cod can still provide the action and gritty war game that fans want.     So many reviews don't make sense to me. I love this new COD so much. The zombie mode keeps getting better and this one just blew my mind. I love the specialists concept which was upgraded and balanced, and also the blackout mode. I'm very satisfied with BO4 and would recommend it.

    As much as I would have loved a campaign, I'd prefer a fully polished Multiplayer and Battle Royale Blackout.

    These days single player FPS COD campaigns aren't that interesting. BO3 was the last decent campaign. So I wouldn't bother worrying about it too much. It was already heavily advertised as having no campaign, so I don't know why there are so much whiners.     Summary: Great game for players that fell off CoD

    I played a bit of CoD2, more of CoD3, then A LOT every year from CoD4 - Black Ops 2. I fell off CoD after that. Tried to get back in at Black Ops 3, but just had no interest. I picked up Black Ops 4, because I was in a gaming rut. After Spider-Man, I had no desire to play another open world or brawler style game.     Blackout is a solid Battle Royale mode with CoD shooting (the shooting in PUBG & Fortnite just doesn't feel good to me). I tried out Zombies and it was fun, but not really my thing. For those that like Zombies, it seems like it will provide a lot of fun with three maps.

    Multiplayer was a little longer for me to warm up to. I didn't understand at first that picking a hero was different from picking a class. IMO, the pre-made Class #1 is terrible. Once I realized I could change class, I found one that worked for me and quickly shot up to Level 5, where I could start creating my own class. Multiplayer still took some getting used to. I think only Battery lets you have a grenade (until you unlock grenades somewhere in the Level 40's). Coming from years of dealing with grenade spam, it was weird to both not worry about grenades and not have one to throw to where I knew people were camping. Each hero/operator has two special abilities. Some of these are quite good, and some just make me wonder what I don't understand about how to use them, because they shouldn't be that unbalanced.
    One thing that is annoying, there are already people who have a sniper rifle setup, where they can quick zoom, not be on you, and one shot kill you in the body through body armor. That's something I still hate about CoD, especially when they can do it close range.

    I enjoyed playing the CoD campaigns in previous games, but I don't miss it here. It could be that there are so many good single player games, and I was craving a fun multiplayer, but I am not sure.

    In summary, if you fell off CoD, this is a good one to get back in.    … Expand

    Lastly, lets get to the actual game... im not a big fan of the future stuff like the powerups and slams and stuff, so simply i just focus on zombies (which are always good to play)
    And.... the new blackout br, what can i say, finally a game that ive been waiting for, its almost a perfect game, what more could you ask for, and the whole point of the mode is to survive till the end, who cares if you dont see anyone until the last 10 players left, i love the mode and for me thats all i be playn.

    Now getting onto the price of the game, i got it for $60au what the hell do yous expect, its a aaa game, new release, i bet most you reveiwers that gave crap score because of price and content have almost cirtainly PAID MONEY TO BUY VBUCKS ON FORTNITE for skins that (MAKE YOU LOOK DIFFERENT) im sorry but thats rubbish, so whos the money grabbers???

    On conclusion to my ramble, i will say this game gets a 9 atm, and hopefully they tinker and change the br map every now and then, and mix up some things, then the last point will be added ;) all you reveiwers **** about other crap, please think about what your saying, do t drag the score down because you dont like the game...

    We can all agree that the Call of Duty series is very repetitive, and this game is no exception, but that doesn't mean it is bad, the Battle Royal is fun, the Zombies mode is engaging and fast paced, and the multiplayer has all of the gamemodes the series is known for.

    You have to laugh at some of the 0 ratings don't you?
    0 for graphics? 0 for gameplay? 0 for sound? 0 for game modes? 0 for longevity?

    After a lot of series fatigue, Call of Duty has finally landed on it's feet.

    Until I got a PS4 and a steady group of friends to play them with, I only bought Call of Duty games for their campaigns and Zombie modes. Never bothered with multiplayer or Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare series, I was always a Treyarch guy. Less of a hardcore fan and more of a casually interested enthusiast.    After a lot of series fatigue, Call of Duty has finally landed on it's feet.

    Until I got a PS4 and a steady group of friends to play them with, I only bought Call of Duty games for their campaigns and Zombie modes. Never bothered with multiplayer or Infinity Ward's Modern Warfare series, I was always a Treyarch guy. Less of a hardcore fan and more of a casually interested enthusiast. However, for the past 4 years, I've bought every COD game from Advanced Warfare and onward. Treyarch, always reliable in their quality, has proven to be the only development team working for Activision capable of holding my interest for long periods of time with their games. I can't tell you how many hours exactly I put into Black Ops 3, but let's just say that I got to Master Prestige within a year of that game coming out. Not to mention all the wonderful Zombies content included in that game.
    Advanced Warfare was neat for a while, but I never made it past first prestige. Infinite Warfare was too much of a copy/paste of Black Ops 3, except it lacked the personality and fun factor (this is excluding their excellently done Zombies in Spaceland). WWII was great at times, but even after Prestiging three times, it didn't feel like the time put into it was worth it (especially the Nazi Zombies mode).
    For the first time in years, Call of Duty has found a way to blend new and old together to make a cohesive multiplayer experience. Multiplayer feels great. A good blend of floaty and weighty. While it's cool to see some of the past game's specialists returning, I really enjoy the new characters. Has more of a tactical feel than a lot of the past games in the series. This makes game modes like Search and Destroy have a kind of Overwatch feel. The new Heist mode is amazing. Very similar to CS:GO. Zombies has changed in certain areas (no Juggernog or Speed Cola makes it feel a little weird), but it's still the Treyarch zombies you know and love. Blackout, the new Battle Royale mode, feels fantastic. Even though this is their first foray into the genre, Treyarch did an excellent job at making a fun BR experience.

    I highly recommend this game to anyone that's ever loved a Call of Duty game. It feels like they put a lot of love and care into designing this game. While they're not in the game at the moment, lootboxes will be returning, so be prepared for some RNG **** with weapon drops and what not. Also, while the content in Multiplayer more than makes up for it, I still wish Treyarch had some sort of single player campaign. That's really the only negatives I have about this game.    … Expand

    The first COD I’ve liked since 4.

    It’s all about Battle Royale, which is the best one yet! I only dock it because of the lack of Single Player, I wouldn’t mind if the name was different, but carrying the Black Ops name is a bit odd.

    The game is functionally sound, which should be a given when playing a title like this. The true grade comes from functionality and playability through its multiplayer and battle royal. The battle royal has fixed many of its bugs and frustrating tendencies of the beta while giving it the feeling that you could play again and again. The multiplayer is great as well.     Great game! My first time back on cod since the first Black ops and I am thoroughly enjoying it! Multiplayer is top notch (no more wall running and jet packs!!!). Zombies is top notch (who would have guessed) and Blackout is better than pubg and fortnite. People complain about no campaign this and that but honestly with the extra time invested in the multiplayer aspect of the gameGreat game!     Realistically my score is about an 8. However, I just wanted to counter the unrealistic zeros out there. This game is a great example of what Treyarch does best; damn good multiplayer. The Blackout is exactly what I want from a battle royale mode: the realistic combat of PUBG but the polish of Fortnite. My main criticisms would be that the graphics are sub par and I would like a bitRealistically my score is about an 8. However, I just wanted to counter the unrealistic zeros out there.     By far the best Call of Duty game, I've spent hours non-stop playing this game. It includes a huge variety of mods, maps, etc. The fun never ends. There are a few problems such as no crossplay, but this game is still new so we shouldn't expect much. Zombies, Multiplayer, and Blackout are ALL ADDICTIVE. Try it for yourself at 4k, it isn't #1 on Twitch for no reason!

    Most of the 0-3 scores I've read appear to be salty PUBG fans mad that it's better than PUBG and costs $60. I played many hours in PUBG and enjoyed it, but Blackout is a far more polished experience.

    Multiplayer feels like a top-tier Treyarch MP experience, and zombies is always a blast with friends. It is not a perfect game, but it is certainly worthy of $60 (I ended up paying $100 for the Deluxe Edition with season pass, and I do NOT regret it.)

    I fully stand by a 9/10 rating, and I intend to put many hundreds, if not thousands, of hours into this game.    … Expand

    Feeling like the best COD since Blops2 - Removing Campaign is a bug plus for me as i never touched it in any COD's.

    MP - Feels really smooth. Maps are 3 lanes. Surprisingly playing this more than Blackout
    BO - Easily by a mile, the best BR on the market.

    Don't play Zombies can't review it.

    You're getting 3 different modes, it honestly feels like a steal for $60.

The zombies maps that are included are some of the most complex ever made, and 3 fully fledged maps (yes, one is a previous map but has been updated with new areas added and was already a fantastic map) included with the base game is great for people who play zombies. The Blackout mode is enjoyable, and while I need to spend more time with it I believe that as long as frequent updates are given to it, that it will be a good contender for Fortnite and PUBG. Multiplayer is refreshing with no more jetpacks and double jumping/wallrunning, and I believe the ability to choose when to heal is a great addition to a tactical shooter. The specialists are all relatively enjoyable to play, and while there are some that will undoubtedly be a "must pick" for a team to win, with proper balancing and practice they all have their own merit. Ultimately as of right now, I would give this game most likely an 8 out of 10, but have to overcorrect for people who are lashing out due to anger.… Expand

    First Call of Duty game I've bough in maybe 10 years.. I fell outta love with the horrible groundhog day style multiplayer... I dig its jumped on the Battle Royal bandwagon but gotta say they pulled it off... fills the gap if you want something a little more serious than fortnite but not quite a sim like as Pubg.

    The main complaint about this game is no campaign. It was announced before the release that there would be NO campaign. Therefore, all these 1's and 0's hold no merit. This is probably the best ONLINE CoD since WaW. If you are looking for a single player game then this game obviously isn't for you. However, adding Blackout has given players another option to remove the monotony.

    It is my first to play a series of Call of duty. I feel it's a fast rhythm game, easily get a high point, but UI that feel bad, old, not cool. Some UAV system animation that is poor. I can't focus 100% attention on this game. after play 10hs, I feeling boring, but in the 10hs, It's a very high game.

    Very enjoyable game. Loving zombies with friends. The multiplayer is fun and Blackout is far and above PUBG. I can't see how any battle royale will beat it.

    Perfect stop gap until fallout 76/rdr2 comes out.

    I think the 0 reviews are pretty harsh. Either angry fans, or pubg/fortnite kids i imagine.

    BO4 is the COD i've had the most fun in ages! It's something new and still it feels like back in the days. And finally the Specialists really make some sense and are fun to play with. The Multiplayer is super balanced and finally your aim highly affects the outcome of your gunfights as you have more health and it also reduces the risk of being randomly killed by bad luck. It's one of the few games where i mostly account for my own faults when losing as opposed to blaming the game for it's mechanics. The only bad thing I noticed was that it seems you can sometimes still be killed when already in cover behind a wall, but that has been around in COD since a long time.
    Of course it's unfortunate that the game does not have campaign as it could have been a perfect opportunity to further extend the Black Ops storyline, but in the end it does not really matter. The Multiplayer AND Zombies is great fun, maybe it is not for everyone but for my part i really love it and therefore rate it as 9/10 cause there still might be a couple negative aspects + no campaign but Treyarch really did a good job.    … Expand

    Tribute to the dead brains of everyone, who rated 0 because of single player. This game really deserves 85 as critics said, if you want to understand is it worth your money - don't look at the user score.     Blops 4 is well done. The MP on PC is fluid, everything worked straight of the box. Zombies are looking cool, need to dig deeper into them tho and Blackout? Possibly the beste BR game atm.

    You review based on the quality of what's in front of you. And so far, I find the quality to be incredible. Smooth gameplay. Well-optimized. Blackout is a ton of fun. If you like battle royales and you like the smooth responsiveness of Call of Duty, you will adore Blackout. PUBG and Fortnite are fun games in their own right, but even the most avid of their fans can agree that gunplay is very meh in both games. Not to mention being third-person.

    Zombies is fresh and innovative. A new system for perks that removes overpowered crutch perks in favor of less dominant, more balanced perks across the board. Tons of room for player choice and role strategizing. The gameplay loop has evolved to something new. Plenty of people are resistant to change and don't like that. I find that the new loop is improved on the old one, which was getting stale. This is coming from a day one Zombies player and lover.

    Multiplayer is the mode I'm least excited about. Mainly just because over the years, Call of Duty has bored me. Black Ops 4 is decently fresh. A collection of maps that is larger than any game in the current console era, that includes remasters of popular maps from previous games. The map count keeps the game fresh for longer, the proven quality of the remasters keeps the entire group afloat.

    in the end, this is the most quality Call of Duty game that we've had in well over half a decade, if not longer. As always, there are always tons of people who are more interested in hating on CoD than giving it an honest try.     BLOPS 4 is about what you'd expect. Tight shooting, fast multiplayer and an awesome Battle Royale mode. It certainly doesn't break new ground but it will definitely keep you entertained for a good while.

    Well, on to CoD Black Ops 4. In short its awesome. I never pay for games full price and I never was into the Battle Royale style of gaming. Blops 4 succeeds in this. Black Out is tons of fun and gives Call of Duty new life. The map is huge and will hit the nostalgia nerve for long time fans of the series. The use of med packs is refreshing and so are the vehicles. Its flawless and the mechanics are smooth.

    The online multiplayer is great as usual with staples like Team Death Match and the new (?) Heist mode. Zombies is zombies which is a great thing. Its always been one of the reasons I play Call of Duty.

    The fact that there is no campaign makes no difference to me. They stated from the get go that there will be none and lets be honest, the campaigns were never the focal point of Call of Duty. Its all about online. In short, if you're a fan of the series go get it you wont be disappointed. If you are a troll who is bored at home and want to hate something they have no intentions on playing, go play something different. Don't game shame somebody.

    The big deal is its own Battle Royale. It's the best there is right now, no question about it, and not just in visuals. Naturally, it is trying to become the king of BR on hardcore platforms, while leaving the mobile market to Fortnite, which is king there. And I think it may just succeed.

    Game looks good. No, it is not "just like Blops 3;" there are improvements. Go compare them side by side and you'll see. If anything, it has about the same graphics as Infinite Warfare, but better than WWII. And yeah... it's not going to look better than Battlefield 1 OR V. It can't. That game takes forever to load for good reason. This is a fast-paced game. Let's just drop the argument already. This is like arguing a luxury sedan vs a sports car.... it's stupid.

    Multiplayer is still where I spend most of my time, and for me it's a win this time around. I like that they brought back those 4 old maps, and I actually like the Blops 1 and 2 similarities of the newer maps. Specialists are back, never liked them I don't feel like the things we're shooting should have much personality or individuality if they're meant to be expendable I much prefer the random grunt soldier look from bo2 or other old cods. The specialists are at least not extremely over powered as they can usually counter each other but specialists don't hold a major impact on the outcome of the match rather than your skill as a player. Black out is good, like really good. Feels like a battle royal made by cod shpuld feel. Pubg on consoles is pretty much obsolete now I'd say, black out blows it out of the water. Zombies feels weird this year but since that's treyarchs baby I'm assuming they'll fix it so I'll hold back for now on that. Overall I've hated every cod after bo2 and finally they release one that I really like. I never review games, I'm usually very harsh on cod every year when it comes out but this one has blown my expections so I figured I should review it. Don't listen to the people giving 0s for uninspiration, this cod game appeals mostly to old time players the game does a great job of bringing back that "good ol day bo1 bo2 feel"… Expand

    The multiplayer is back to how it used to be. Smaller maps, faster paced with no wall jumps, booster packs, etc. The guns are normal guns, and not unrealistic. Colours are bright, so it's easier to see, just like in the original Black Ops. They introduced player types, similar to Overwatch, which gives you a different advantage for each player. I will be logging many hours into this multiplayer. I haven't enjoyed many of the latest Call of Duty games, since Black Ops 2.

    As for the lack of a campaign mode. Who cares? They were only around 5 hours to beat anyways. The majority of COD fans want zombies, and multiplayer. All Treyarch did was focus on what the fans want! This is Treyarch's bread and butter.

    For Zombies, I have not enjoyed ANY zombies maps since the original Black Ops. I've played all 4 maps. (Including the Pentagon remake from BO1... Thanks Treyarch!). All 4 of these maps were great! The arena one was extremely fun. They are brighter colours, and more space to escape zombies. You start with more health than in previous games, which enhances the experience. No more 10 to 15 minute matches, and wasting your time having to restart, after just getting into the groove of a match. This way you can really have a meaningful match each time you play!

    For the blackout mode, they replaced the campaign with this. Doesn't that make sense though, seeing as this is the type of game mode that people enjoy to play right now. Fortnight and PUBG are some of the most popular games, and Black Ops 4 is giving you a superior experience in this regard.

    All in all, don't listen to all the haters. Most negative reviews are strictly because it didn't have a campaign mode. How can you negatively rate a game for what it doesn't have? You should only rate it on what it DOES have. I will take blackout mode, over Campaign mode any day of the week. There's endless story style games out there.

Or Treyarch focused too much on the multiplayer component that ran out of time for more. Regardless of the reason, Black Ops 4 has no single-player component, but in contrast, the biggest focus on multiplayer is made to feel positively throughout the game.

    Starting with the main novelty, Blackout is Black Ops 4's Battle Royale mode. For those unfamiliar with this, it's a way that puts 95 players against each other on a massive map filled with well-known locations in the series. The player may choose to play in teams of four, of two or else test their ability on solo. Depending on certain factors, it may be difficult to find players at the beginning due to the size of the map, but fortunately the safety zones will make encounters with opponents players more frequent. If we want to have more characters in Blackout, we have to complete the requirements of each character. Despite the amount of frustration due to my failures and my lack of luck, I confess that this Blackout was a pleasant surprise and is undoubtedly a good Battle Royale mode.

    Although it doesn't have a single-player campaign, the game provides us with Substories about Specialists and these events take place between Black Ops 2 and Black Ops 3. It isn't really a substitute for a real campaign, but it serves to pause the competitive aspect. And speaking of a competitive aspect, before embarking on the multiplayer of Black Ops 4, it is necessary to choose the specialist class. The game presents a total of 10 classes, namely Ruin, Prophet, Battery, Seraph, Nomad, Firebreaker, Recon, Ajax, Torque and Crash, these four last ones being a debut. As for modes, Control, Heist, Free For All, Kill Confirmed are present for example.

    The multiplayer has undergone some changes to encourage players to do teamwork, to be more tactical and to reduce the number of rambo users. And one of those changes was to remove the heath regeneration. To recover life, we must use the gear item Stim Shot. In other words, healing is now a manual rather than an automatic action, which adds to this tactical factor, in that it is necessary to choose between risking another confrontation or withdrawing tactics to regain life. Also note that the double jumps, long slips, walk the walls and other unnecessary things that were in Black Ops 3 were removed. Finally, Blood of the Dead takes us back to the Alcatraz Prison and as you may be thinking, this is a remake of the Black Ops 2's DLC Uprising Mob of the Dead map. Scarlett Rhodes, Bruno Delacroix, Diego Becalli and Stanton Shaw are among the characters we will use in Voyage of Despair and IX, while Blood of the Dead is represented by Edward Richtofen, Tank Dempsey Takeo Masaki and Nikolai Belinski.

    Don't think it's just killing enemies in this Zombies mode. There are several challenges for the player to complete, such as obtaining certain rare weapons or finding easter eggs on a specific map. Overall, Treyarch has made some changes to this Zombie mode, but without drastically changing what fans like so much in this mode. In short, even without a traditional single-player campaign, Treyarch has produced one of the best Call of Duty since the original Black Ops.    … Expand

    Now onto my personal review of the game. It's great! I feel like Call of Duty is finally (getting) back to its roots. Sure it is still based in the future a bit but not like other COD games we have seen. No more exo-skeleton, no more wall running, no more flying or double jumping. We are finally back to boots on the ground action and grit.

    Again, we are (getting) back to what the COD franchise used to be and it feels so good! Multiplayer is solid and so far I haven't had any issues.

    If you are looking for a Call of Duty that brings you back home and makes you feel good about the game again, pick this one up. I have owned practically every one of them up to this one and can finally say that this game is getting back to its roots as it should.

If you bought a $60 call of duty game in the past just for its campaign then you "screwed" yourself over. Yes black ops has an overly expensive price tag but it has lots to offer through multiplayer, zombies, and blackout. I was a little hesitant at first to buy BO4 because i was not on the battle royale bandwagon (did not like building in fortnite and am old school multiplayer). After i tried multiplayer and blackout i knew I would enjoy the game more then i thought i would. I agree that it was lazy to remake old maps and count it in as the release day maps for multiplayer but the 4 maps they chose to remake had me reminiscing about past black ops games. Zombies has had my attention since the first black ops and i have only ever played black ops zombies since they are the most creative and intense zombies experience. black ops 4 zombies exceeded my expectations and they proved that they put a lot of work into the new story and gameplay. Zombies is much more customizable this time around. Difficulty settings along with other things make it so a beginner can pick up and play and not worry about being "bad" zombies player. Multiplayer is fluid and offers one of the best online shooter experiences at this time. Not once was i kicked out of a lobby or disconnected from a game, which has happened in past call of duty releases. The thing i like about the black ops franchise is that they really listen to the community. A lot of people (including myself) did not like the jetpack boosts going on in BO3 which is why BO4 stuck to boots on the ground. I also am convinced BO4 will be supported for the next 2-3 years just like BO3 was and that is a good feeling to have on a game you spent $60 on. Finally Blackout...I was very nervous about Call of Duty treading into the battle royale scene. I cant say this enough that black ops was for sure the one to pull it off. Not only did they get the battle royale formula correct but they did in a way that was fun easy to learn while keeping true to black ops gameplay. I gave the game a 8/10 for using old maps as fillers for multiplayer and that splitscreen was a disappointment since it condenses the screen and you have to squint to even see an enemy when playing on the same screen with a friend. Overall the call of duty era that included campaigns/stories are over because of the new generation of gamers today. everything is online and fast paced now which is what call of duty is adapting too. Black ops 4 offers a little bit for everyone and to those not buying a game for the lack of a campaign are missing out on a fantastic first person shooter experience.… Expand

    Call of Duty Black Ops 4 has exceeded my expectations this time, smooth gameplay with good game mechanics, i am getting 60+ fps on Gtx 970, It's a must buy game. and as a Battle Royal Enthusiast i must say this is the best BR game i have ever played till date.

They are just worried that because this game doesn't have a solo campaign that it will push other devs to stray away from them. Lastly the monetization after the 60 dollar price tag. Which I practically agree with, we don't need loot boxes or any MTX in a 60 dollar game. Let the free games or cheaper games do that. Although this is where all games are at now. Single player games like Assassins Creed odyssey literally have pay-to-not-pay MTX, Boosters and just straight buying equipment. So I will treat all games the same now based on MTX.

    Now Call of Duty Black ops 4 as it stands is a very content fulled experience. Multiple different modes are set in place to compensate for the lack of campaign. 3 zombie maps, an entire BR mode and all the multiplayer versus modes. Anyone that says they don't have a lot of content in this mode is blatantly lying or misinformed because they haven't actually played the game. Blackout BR mode is practically a stand alone game that i would hands down pay 30 dollars for. A very fast paced and polished mode. Im not going to go in depth of on the modes but try just giving you the facts. Now the Multiplayer mode has two new modes and all the classic modes. You might say two isn't a lot but the other modes are great and fix something if its not broken. They have changed a lot and added some new stuff. Healing is now the here instead of regeneration of health which adds more tactical approach. Thrust jumping and wall running is gone but still has a very fast paced gameplay. Now I haven't actually played zombies yet. But It looks very in-depth and they have multiple modes and maps to choose from.

    Don't let other people confuse you on this game, do your own research on the game by watching gameplay. If you are only interested in solo stuff, this might not be for you. Though they have a little bit of story and solo stuff with the specialist characters. You can easily get 100s of hours out of this game. Get bored of close quarters versus, move to the huge long range combat of BR. Getting tired of player vs player, move over to the zombies mode or the Specialist headquarters mode.     People clearly don't understand what are they talking about. From the beginning Treyarch told us about singleplayer. That they won't add it. But instead I was really surprised when i saw short background story's about characters of multiplayer. Plus if you want to get good story, you can easily go to Zombie mod, and play it.     There are 3 modes. Blackout being the most hyped, lives up to all expectations and more. Fast fluid cod gameplay. Sublime movement. Lots of gadgets and toys to play with. And land, sea and air vehicles to mess around on. This is the pinnacle of BR gaming imo.

    Zombies is back! As in the real one.......as in Treyarch Zombies. Nobody does it better. This year we have 3 big beautiful maps to explore. And they are all brimming with fun weapons, toys, secrets, missions, glorious visuals, seriously it's stunning. New modes are available too.

    Multiplayer, for me, is the best cod i've played since bops1. Which was my favourite cod ever. This is incredible. 9 new maps. I'd say honestly after 20 hours of play in this mode, 7 of them are amazing pure fun. Most importantly the map layouts are masterfully crafted. The other 2 maps aren't even bad. They are good. But the others are almost perfect. To make up the numbers 4 classics return including slums and jungle. These maps are as good as they've ever been. Nuketown surely on the way shortly as well.

    This year cod has a bigger emphasis on class ability use. Almost becoming a 'very lite' hero shooter. And it's a very welcome change. Healing in fights is now essential and adds a new layer to gameplay. There is a couple new modes added this year. One of which turns the game into a counter-strike type of game. Players start with a pistol and some money and must buy weapons, gadgets and abilities as rounds move on. This has become an addiction for me today.

    I have been blown away by the quality in this years cod. All the modes are outstanding. There's no better word to describe it.

    I haven't had this much fun with a Call of Duty game in a very long time! Everything feels just right, and I'm glad it's more grounded. I didn't think I'd like the whole class ability thing, however after playing it I'm in love with them! There's just something super satisfying about creating choke points with razorwire and barricades as Torque!

    I've briefly played zombies XI map twice. Im not an Easter egg hunter but had a blast figuring out the basics of the map and blowing zombies to bits. Oh and there are 2 other maps included as well with its own standalone progression system from blackout and multiplayer.

    Multiplayer feels right again. It feels like where the series should have progressed after bo2 instead of the future setting and movement we got for a while. The best way i can describe how it feels is black ops 2, mixed with some bo3 elements. The maps are some of the best i've experienced in a long time. The killstreaks feel powerful when you earn them....... i'm looking at you ww2....... and the manual healing system adds extra strategy into your gameplay. And it becomes muscle memory real quick.

    Honestly don't let the 0 reviews scare you. Its obviously not a 0 by any stretch of the imagination. Although there are some balancing issues in multiplayer and blackout, they will get fixed and forgotten about. If you're a big fan of cod, like i am, l then i think there is a lot to love here. I have only experienced lag in a couple of matches with quads and there is very little stability issues at all so far. Guns all feel different and there are a lot of options for the secondary slots.

    They could possibly tweak the merit system just a bit to give out damage merit for those that get assists or aid in taking a player down and maybe make it a bit easier to track a supply drop. Adding zombies was genius, and adding more events to the BR mode from time to time would be fun!
    All the multiplayer modes are totally solid. Heist is an interesting mode, but I usually just stick with the classic old TD or KC. Also like the single player tutorial mode for each of the specialist so you can decide which one you like. super big on the zombie mode but me and my wife have fun with it as you can add AI bots that seem to be not as dumb as I thought they would be.
    Does anyone even play a campaign anymore? I haven't played one in years. I guess if that is all I came for I would be a bit disappointed like some people are.    … Expand

It's really more fun than all the PUBG variations out there. Guns, tactical stuff like sticky bombs and recon drones, tempo, vehicles (helis, oh yes) it gives you much more space and creativity.     I'm not the biggest COD fan, I admit. I would honestly give this game a 7 or 7.5. All of its modes are always fun to play, whether it be blackout, multiplayer, or zombies. But I do find myself getting tired of playing them rather quickly, as some modes get repetitive. Granted, it's probably gonna something that I will come back to from time to time, whether it's to get a higher round on zombies, unlock more camos in multiplayer, or to get #1 in blackout. It also helps that I have many friends that enjoy the game and I play with almost daily.

    This is the first cod game i've played seriously since Black Ops 2 and I am absolutely loving this game so far. Definitely gonna play the **** out of this game for the next year (unless RDR2 eats my life away).    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game offers so much it's mind blowing. Even if you don't get the BOP the $60 you spend is still worth it. For the lack of a story/campaign they do offer a small story to get use to the character that are available at launch. The black-op mode is by far the best thing this game has simply because it's a grown up version of fortnite. A squad of your friends can make this mode that much worth it for your experience. The multiplayer version of the game is the same as before but the beauty of it is all everything you do matters and at least for me no more running and gunning. This series is by far the best and I hope that in the future that they do a dedicated VR mode for those that have the VR headset. Outside of that great game yes it's worth the 60 bucks.

    Fantastic game with a very balanced Multiplayer. Blackout also being one of the strongest reasons why this game is so good. I really like how Treyarch decided to cut off the Campaign since the previous Call of Duty games' campaign wasn't any good at all during the last couple of years. Black Ops 4 really is a change for the good for this series and is a massive improvement on Black Ops 3.Fantastic game with a very balanced Multiplayer.     This is the first COD game from MW2 that I liked. It has it own problems and cons, but still game is really fun. So major problem as for me is balancing of ranking match. There is no fu*king balancing. I was 1 lvl with some monsters in the game, it was still enjoyable, but I wish to play with equal players. But design of characters and some maps is awful. Everything vivid, colorful, blinking and flashing. What's work with Fortnite, doesn't work with COD. Looks like mental hospital in amusement park.
    But like this game for other reasons:
    1) Blackout mode - first battle royal that I liked, it is well balanced, good paced and runs perfect on PS4. I played PUBG (PC) and H1Z1 (PS4) and non of them was that good.
    2) Ranking match - i was expecting to see R6S, but it feels like BO2 with Overwatch and this is good. Bigger TTK makes game more fun than usually and encourages you to act bravely. Units are different from each other and allows you to make experiments.
    3) Zombie mode - I don't know, I don't play games like these.

    Some people complain about absence of story mode, but this is one of the biggest pros.
    Previous games was stupid as fu*k and everyone knew it, but didn't want to admit.
    So, if you haven't played BO4, but you like R6S, Overwatch, older parts of COD or good Battle royal, be sure this game you'll definitely like    … Expand

    A great game, one of the best in the series and doesn't have to be bogged down by a mediocre story mode like the rest of the games in the COD franchise.

    This is the best COD game so far with a new gamemode that will get a bunch of 5 year olds back to playing the game and when they play blackout they'll be jumping around in the desert while being shot trying to build a wall.

Although the game does not include a single player campaign, there is a mode called Specialist HQ that is basically a tutorial for each specialist with each having a backstory.

    I personally didn't play much of the previous Zombies, but based on other sites, it looks like they've beefed it up considerably with more play styles, 2 storylines, and 3 maps.

    Finally there is Blackout which is very similar to PUBG, but stable. They've added perks (time limited when in use) to find as well. The map includes locations of previous COD games. They've also got a fun area with zombies that they threw into the mix. The additions work quite well and doesn't take away from the Battle Royale experience.

    As with any new game, there are some tweaks that need to be made. Bad respawns in multiplayer. The base game is the standard $60, but I spent $100 for the deluxe digital edition. I also had to purchase Playstation Plus. So be prepared to spend some money at the get go if this is your first go around with COD.

    I haven't seen a DLC ever worth the $30/$40, and my expectations are low for BO4 to be any different. If Treyarch is going to join the Battle Royale realm, I expect consistent content updates similar to Fortnite. But as I've said, my expectations are low.

    If you are a fan of multiplayer gaming, you'll enjoy this game. $60 is ok to spend on this especially if you don't typically play with friends. If you do, then expect to put money down for the DLC as well unless you expect all your friends to never go beyond the base game. I enjoy it. I play on my own and sometimes with friends. Spending $160 (Deluxe + PS Plus) hurt, and although there is decent amount of content on the DLC, I hope for content updates for all players for at least Blackout. Hoping for the best, but expecting the worst.    … Expand

    It’s not that I can’t respect it — it seems to offer decent value in that it’s essentially three different types of shooter in one package, but aside from the new Blackout mode, I’ve had significantly better experiences from many of its competitors. And honestly, Blackout’s main competition is a free-to-play game. It may be better than Fortnite in my opinion, but sixty dollars better? I’m not entirely convinced about that, and without a decent singleplayer campaign attached, it’s a pretty hard sell for anyone who isn’t already a fan.

    Despite its generic title Black Ops IV feels like a fresh start for Call of Duty. The multiplayer and the zombie mode is very much the same as always, but with Blackout, Treyarch takes everything that is good with Player Unknown's Battleground and makes it better.
