    It feels like Borderlands, as always, especially at combat. The music is top notch.
    That's it, that's the good things.
    This game is like a woke zoomer tiktok brainstorming. The wokeness is unbearable. Possibly the wokest game I've ever played. All the male characters are just losers or idiotic buffoons, when not weak cowards or brainless animals. Except for the gay ones, of course. Except for the gay ones, of course. The alphabet agenda is all over the place. They made Tina an adult just to make her non binary because reasons. Her, and the Hammerlock and Jacobs story are so forced and shoved down my throat that I can't roll my eyes more or I'll get blind. Let alone some unnecessary fetch quests which are made just to insert more agenda. I don't even want to talk about Ava, the game's Mary Sue, because I can't stand her. I want to talk about the unfunny humor, which seems to be written by a 12 year old who thinks that poo and balls are super funny. I even find disturbing the bad taste thrown into the jokes, constantly. I like gross and offensive humor, but when is so bad, so basic, and constant, it's not funny, it's amazingly cringe. The writing, as always when they focus on wokeness, and female empowerment (completely misunderstood), is atrocious. I can't empathize with any main character because I find them insufferable or at least not interesting. I even found Lillith annoying, while the rest were simply obnoxious. It's been hard to finish the game, not just because of all this wokeness, but because I got really bored of killing the same enemies over and over again. And because I couldn't care less about the bad plot and the characters. The fact that I don't even want to touch the DLCs speaks volumes. The loot system is repetitive and not satisfying. This is the worst Borderlands. I didn't like the Presequel very much, but it was still good compared to this one.    … Expand

    I bought this game without paying attention to its artcover. When I got home I realised how offensive the cover is. I am not easily offended but as a christian, I find the cover extremely abusive towards my religion and beliefs. I didn't sell the game but instead I just threw in a rubbish bin.     Way too dark image even i got very bright qled. Boring game with ne no any difference than b2. Not worth to buy or not even for free. boring weapons without any punch or sound. Aiming is delayed sticky kind of. Got 4 points only cos there is existing way worse than this. Still tho this isnt good.

    No idea what the hell is going on, story wise, because it just skips when life happens during cutscenes

    I got this for free on epic and still feel ripped off. i have spent more time starting a new game (4 times so far) than I have playing the game. And apparently they have never heard of this thing on PC called a mouse. This is a **** console port.

    Modernized and polished version of BL2, some glitches and slow menu...
    The humor is pretty tame and kinda cringe at times...It seemed like in not wanting to offend anyone they left a generic product that no one could relate to...
    BL2 had WAY BETTER HUMOR

    I'll wait for a year until it's on sale for 20$...

    The game performance is not ok and so the gameplay is not engaging. Constant micro stuttering and micro freezing is something you don't want in a FPS of any kind.     Borderlands 3 is the cringiest instalment of the Borderlands series. The game is overflowing with dych jokes and boomer zoomer-wannabe jokes. The villains are the most cringeworthy villains in the history of games.     The technical state of this game is horrendous. Almost unplayable in splitscreen on base ps4. Constantly loading and deloading textures, even reticles have lowpixel versions! Textures deload to lowpoly when you turn your back against them. The game crashes often, leaving you to the longest loading screen with assclap dancing in a total silence which makes you want to delete the game right away due to cringe overload. Frame rate is pretty bad, worst is on vertical split screen. When opening the menu, the game freezes for a few seconds. Every text in this game is so tiny you have to lean towards the screen to read the stats. Some texts are so microscopic that they don't have enough pixels to be readable.

    Borderlands 3 at least doesn't force you to complete side quests in order to be able to play the main mission on a decent difficulty unlike the older games which is probably the only improvement in this game. Edge climbing, slides and ground slams are pretty close to useless.

    If you want to play a Borderlands game (or a "split screen game with your friend") you should definitely try one of the older ones since they are in so much better technical conditions rather than this cringe-emanating piece of craptlap with more coital/coomer "jokes" than jokes.    … Expand

    Worst Borderlands game by far. The humor is terrible and not what it once was, and the characters are often cringy and feel lazily added to the storyline. The antagonists are pretty bad in my opinion and the variety of side quests are also abysmal. Mostly just a forgettable game.

    I was very much looking forward to a new borderlands game when this game out and was pretty disappointed. The game still feels like it relies too much on gunplay and not enough of the character abilities that made the past games so great, with a vastly different experience playing with different builds or different characters.

    I have played this both on PC and PS4. PS4 is close to unplayable. It crashes like crazy and bugs out often. The PS4 just cant handle this game as it does not appear to have much optimization.

    The guns and gameplay are incredible and the mechanics feel smooth as all hell. Also, being able to pick up the controller and play splitscreen with my friend is an incredible plus for me. Just in multiplayer alone, we both put in about 70+ hours. And the combat doesn't get stale either. Quite an impressive game. My only complaint lies in the performance issues that come from considerableThe guns and gameplay are incredible and the mechanics feel smooth as all hell. I mean I was able to play that 2nd bordelands with HD 7640g iGPU (512MB from 4 GB system RAM) and this games wont run fluently on 8GB 8core rig with RX Vega and 1GB/S M2 SSD?     Decent game but pretty easy most of the time - lots to do. Though nowhere near as funny as a Borderlands game should be instead going with the forced agenda. I play games to enjoy and take a break from reality so when forced agenda is rammed down my throat I am not particularly content with that.

    I fell in love with Borderlands 2 and The pre-sequel when I was introduced to them and even bought the first and got the platinum. I really wanted to overlook its flaws and just enjoy the gameplay. sadly the game runs terribly on consoles (my ps4 pro) and consistent stuttering and low frame rates( 7 months later still not fixed) make my eyes hurt. how can I give it more than 0 if I can'tI fell in love with Borderlands 2 and The pre-sequel when I was introduced to them and even bought the first and got the platinum.     Good gameplay. Unfortunately the story is atrocious. I'd even go as far as saying that ride to hell retribution has a better story, its that bad. Not to mention that 30fps is awful for fps games. Definitely the worst out of the series

    The story was bad and questionable, the sniping feels off the controls feel bulky expect for sliding it is very buggy and, in my experiences borderlands 2 has barely any bugs or very in common I would recommend to just play through borderlands 2 or 1 again

    The graphics are okay. The guns all look ridiculous, though.     The gameplay is annoying. The enemies blend into the environments and the shooting is unsatisfying.

    None of the 4 playable characters clicked with me, like several did in every other game. None of the characters are fun at all for me, so it feels kind of hollow when I play.

    Guns. They suck. Any decent weapon requires a ridiculous amount of farming, or luck. Legendary guns drop like blues dropped in previous Borderlands installments. That is not an exaggeration. Also, guns have anoints. Now, you can't just farm a gun with some good parts. You need a gun with the right anoint, which doesn't always drop. These anointed guns can do more than double the damage of the original, essentially forcing you to just use what you get instead of what you want.

    Oh yeah, the story sucks. Lilith is essentially Roland, except that Roland was always weirdly calm and leader-like, that was his character. It was interesting. Lilith is just monotonous and annoying. She lost all personality in favor of constantly calling over the player to talk to her.    … Expand

    So disappointed in this game, I played it for about 5 hours with friends and decided to sell it. Absolute trash story line and character development, very laggy menus and dissatisfying gun combat, will stay away from borderlands games in the future.

    Well, text size is too small. Cannot be played without headache after 10 min. Played on stream free weekend and bought it for ps4. Regret the ps4 version. Steam version is fine so far

    borderlands 3 is **** game keeps crashing pretty much constantly.. it takes your **** stored items and all your **** levels.. while taking 17 hours and 30 minutes of game-play away..     This game is amazing. It is a ton of fun, especially if you're playing with friends. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who wants to have a ton of fun.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game was a total letdown, and as a huge fan of all the previous games(including the pre-sequel) that was hard to say. The game play was enjoyable, similar to borderlands 2 but updated, I had no issues with that. My main issues are with the story and the writing. Many beloved character from the previous games are disrespected or completely missing from the game, and the new characters are awful. I won't play again until they add the ability to skip cut scenes so i don't have to experience that sad excuse for a main story again.

    Remember when these guys made Duke nukem forever? Yeah it's one of those games, self aware of how long it took and introduces too many new mechanics, muddys the story far too much, and over all wasn't fun. How you mess up making a BORDERLANDS game fun is beyond me.

    been a fan since the first installment, have played 98% of the thousands of hours of gameplay on couch co-op, ADD VERTICAL SPLIT TO BL3. I BOUGHT THE SPECIAL DELUXE, AND HAVE A LOT OF CONTENT I CANT ENJOY BC OF THE CRAPPY RESOLUTION AND LAG IN HORIZONTAL SPLIT. IF U LOVE YOUR FANS, ADD VERTICAL !!

    For me it's the worst of the saga, but it's still an entertaining game that deserves a 6 or maybe a 7. And I have no problem playing at 30fps (like I dido in BL and BL2 on PS3), but frame drops and crashes are so frequent that you don't feel like playing anymore. And I'm playing on the PS4 the Pro...

    For a game based on just shooting people the gunplay really sucks. There are no tactics involved. All you need to do is aim the gun and then press the shoot button and you will win fight if you have good enough gear.

    One positive are of course the amount of guns. Its insane how many guns there are in the game. However there still isnt a DPS-counter in the game. WHY? It would be so much more convenient to pick which gun to use with a DPS-counter.

    There is a open world in this game tho, but it sucks. Its so dead and stale. Its just an empty excuse for an open world where the only thing to do is to get guns, over and over and over again.

    I personally couldnt play this game for more than an hour without getting bored because of how repetitive it is.    … Expand

    After all this time, split screen co-op is still unplayable on PS4 pro. People who want to play together with their partner/sibling/child on console, should avoid this game.
    I was a huge fan of the series, I actually liked this game, but the performance problems and the lack of fix for it (after all these months) is disappointing.

    Atrocious performance on a PS4 Pro. Resolution mode can't hold 30 fps most of the time, and performance mode is nowhere near 60 fps. The fact that the game was released in this state is outrageous.

    The Storly is sooooo **** bad, the humor is insanely bad, its like a edgy 14 year old boy wrote the jokes,its 1 year old and full of bugs srsly patch them allready! But the gameplay is realy good and i also love all the weapons and the graphics.

    The enemies are a damage sponge , to many enemies , everywhere!!! The humor is so forces and comes so often it’s not funny anymore . And legendary weapons comes so often it doesn’t feel special , and talents aren’t as flashy or cool as borderlands 2

Obviously they didn't play it that way when they developed it since a letter box TV is a much better option with a vertical split screen. Even if I did, I’m still 2 levels lower than the boss. I have to hope the one vending machine on sanctuary might have a decent lvl 22 gun or wait 20 minutes for it reset.     As a huge fan of Borderlands and Borderlands 2 I expected more. No where near the performance of the remastered Borderlands 2 which runs smoothly at 60fps in full HD. I can't get more than a few hours into a laggy 30fps and below game with grainy and pixelated visuals. Assuming the ps5 is backwards compatible I'll try to play the game again when I update from my standard PS4.

The biggest letdown is the FPS lag on a PS4 Pro - I've not experienced anything this poorly ported before on this console - getting less than 30 FPS. There is a performance adjustment in the settings but that is bad way of covering up low quality porting. I shouldn't have to chose on a higher end console between performance and high quality visuals.

    As for the visuals the environments are pretty and for the 10 hours I put into the game I enjoyed some of the things I viewed, but there was little desire to keep playing because of shuttering.

    Creeps never die and are always respawned in their original locations. Seems like fun if I want to constantly grind, but if I wipe out a level 1 camp I don't expect to encounter it again when I go through that section on my way back to base. In addition the leveling system seems boring and just because I can upgrade to higher dps weapons there is no difference between my toon at level 3 and 9 outside of some perks I chose. Speaking of, it conceptually seemed cool to be able to use these skills in battle but I wasn't impressed by the need to use them in battles.

    Most battles are shoot, throw a grenade, use some sort of special skill perk, repeat. I didn't get too much enjoyment out of running through the same waves of enemies but this time in 'vr' aka a blue filter on the screen and a special semi-boss before I could finish my objective. BORING!

    The writing reminds me of dad joke puns paired with the same type of borderlands game play from this series 2nd installment. I couldn't even bring myself to really laugh at some of the corny jokes and the mature rating was more comical than the stupid jokes I heard.

    This is a game I regret buying (thankfully I got it preowned and can still return it) because this game lacks in many ways. I typically don't find myself bored within a half hour of game play and with this it felt more like a chore to play than to enjoy spending my time grinding through the same low-level camps I already cleared, twice.     Originally I wrote a review defending the game when it first came out. After playing it for much longer, I simply enough found the game unbearably tedious, boring and completely void of any really good humor or writing. Its just kinda a big shooty mess of uninspired shooty level design.

    Nothing here stands out as fresh, in regards to the layout of this open world. Pandora and the other planets in Borderlands 1 -2 had much more character and personality as opposed to these newer maps. Its sort of annoying how void of entertainment this game is.

    I understand that it is JUST a big dumb shooter, but GOD! is it dumb. Also the missions as fetch quests are probably some of weakest i've played Everything is so oddly placed and just really lakc any focus, Its kinda irritating.I've played much more calculated and entertaining fetch quests in previous Borderlands games.

    I feel as if i've just kinda grown out of this genre of game. I need more narrative structure these days Humor that is subtle. I guess borderlands just isn't for me these days.

I had to turn this game off after 15 minutes with a serious headache. The onscreen movement is noticeably lagged behind the controller. Even with the deadzone setting turned to 0, there's a pause as you move the sticks, and then the screen suddenly tears and jumps to catch up. After "catching up", the motion blur sets in, and you cannot turn this off. If you change direction, the same pause and jump happens again in the new direction.

    One of the best things about BL's 1-Pre was the Friends Only parties and splitscreen coop, allowing friends to join and leave at any time as they were available. Friends Only is not even available, and the splitscreen is horizontal only, which is like peering through a mailslot on a standard widescreen.

    I will not be playing this game until the video and controller settings are thoroughly patched, assuming 2K is on the snap. In the mean time, this was a waste of $60. Don't buy it!    … Expand

It's story is pretty average an forgettable which is fine I guess for a Borderlands game. Buts it's end game content blows. Mayhem is just a bunch of random modifiers that might or might not destroy your build. If you find a cool playstyle mayhem is guaranteed to destroy it. 140 legendaries are world drops. So if you want a certain legendary rather than having a source to farm it from you have to farm one boss over and over until you maybe get it. Even then it might have a crappy annointment or no annointment at all. And the game doesn't run that great on all platfors. The menus are laggy and borderline unusable. The game is really just a bunch of negatives compared to bl2.… Expand

    Unbelievable loading: the first one is about of 1 minute and 40 seconds!.
    All of this for a 99 euros and Gearbox don't fix nothing, they only think to the golden keys.

Then you realize that half the game is bugged, half the skills are not functional, the patches are ridiculous and ruining the game, an entire character is unplayable, mayhem mode makes no sense and it's better to just save + quit until you get good modifiers (because the modifier system right now is dumb as hell. -50% dmg to all guns! +50% dmgThe game is enjoyable until you hit level 50. Then you realize that half the game is bugged, half the skills are not functional, the patches are ridiculous and ruining the game, an entire character is unplayable, mayhem mode makes no sense and it's better to just save + quit until you get good modifiers (because the modifier system right now is dumb as hell. -50% dmg to all guns! +50% dmg to assault rifles and snipers! ok... so no change... ), 1 billion guns with only 10 guns actually worth using...

    This game shouldn't have been released for at least another 6 months and if I could return it, I would. Most overhyped game on the market right now. Just absolutely horrid.

    My first 10-20 hours on the game I'd give a 8/10. The rest I'd give a 1/10 considering how utterly glitchy and broken this game is.    … Expand

    I really enjoyed the parts of this game that I actually DID get to play. But after putting almost 20 hours into the game I have encountered a bug on the guns of reliance mission. The NPC needed to start the quest (Clay) will not move to the activation point. Players have reported this bug for weeks but 18 days later the bug has yet to have been fixed. I have cleared every side quest andI really enjoyed the parts of this game that I actually DID get to play.     DISSAPPOINTING boring and coop is total garbage.
    I liked B1, loved B2 and TPS was okay but B3s is just MEH, the writing is terrible all characters are either total DUDE-BRO DOUCHE BAGS or utterly forgettable, the new character (the kid) is just a whiny irritating boring nobody who added nothing to the game that others could not have done better, then there was the framerate issues and all    DISSAPPOINTING boring and coop is total garbage.

    After 7 years of waiting all we get basically is borderlands 2.5, with a horrible main story and one that’s been done before as well, it’s just an horrible boring all female cast to keep the minority snowflakes happy, with none of the great writing, characters and humour from the first 2 two present in this game. 7 years on and still have the same crappy map layout and woeful backpackAfter 7 years of waiting all we get basically is borderlands 2.5, with a horrible main story and one that’s been done before as well, it’s just an horrible boring all female cast to keep the minority snowflakes happy, with none of the great writing, characters and humour from the first 2 two present in this game. 7 years on and still have the same crappy map layout and woeful backpack inventory system, which shows just how lazy and non innovative Gearbox is.     No vertical split screen option, so it's impossible to play couch co-op. To make things worse, the text in the game it's so small that it's impossible to read weapons and character stats, and some times it's impossible to see enemies too, also, in multiplayer mode you cannot open one of the player menu's without experience a lot of lag.     I would be embarrassed to say how much I played borderlands two. That was an amazing game. And someways borderlands three is a remarkable achievement. The new engine, the gameplay, the look, all are worthy of the franchise. But the writing is absolutely terrible. The split screen is horizontal, and even on my 70" tv I can't read any text unless I'm sitting 2' away. Useless to play this way, impossible to see stats, weapons, etc. One player's menus overlap into the screen of other player,Laggy, clunky, cringy mess.     More guns, more planets, more skills, more… more. If you liked the previous ones, this gives you plenty of the same to enjoy. Borderlands 3 is the very definition of the bigger and better sequel. [Issue#168, p.76]

    Factor in the graphical glitches, rampant texture pop-in and generally asthmatic performance levels, even when running on a PS4 Pro with settings optimised to favour smooth running, and there really is no end of reasons not to love Borderlands 3 (and don’t even think about Googling developers Gearbox Games’ litany of employee relations history)...And yet... love it, I do. Guilty as charged.
