Jan 20, 2016It would seem unthinkable but it’s true that the Old Hunters is even more challenging than the main game. Bosses and mobs are here to make our life much harder, but also to make us beg for even more! From Software delivers another unique experience depicted through a beautifully somber environment of which Lovecraft would be proud.
-
LEVEL (Czech Republic)Jan 4, 2016Fantastic add-on will delight all enthusiastic hunters. Lots of content, eerily beautiful new locations and especially much higher difficulty will keep you entertained for a decent period of time. [Issue #259]
-
Dec 7, 2015Just in case you’d forgotten that Bloodborne was one of the best games of the year, The Old Hunters should seal the deal and place it near the top of the list. Generously difficult, filled with hours of new story, and packed with interesting areas to explore and enemies to die to, The Old Hunters is a great addition to the game and should not be missed.
-
Nov 23, 2015The Old Hunters is a devilishly challenging addition to an already brutal game. With its release, Bloodborne transforms into an even beastlier and more grotesque experience, and it’s better than ever—a blood diamond in the rough even in a year chalked full of incredible releases.
-
Dec 1, 2015It’s such a shame that this is the only expansion that is going to hit Bloodborne. With a great attention to detail, and meaningful changes to single player, we can only wonder what other sort of innovative ideas From Software had in store for us before their plans changed. Still, The Old Hunters enables Bloodborne to go out with a bang, and a challenging one at that.
-
Nov 29, 2015The Old Hunters faithfully adds to the gothic adventure of Bloodborne, and reminds you how delightfully wicked that bunch at From Software really are.
-
Nov 24, 2015Bloodborne: The Old Hunters is a major expansion that may not be completely necessary to fully enjoy the game. Still, it adds a whole bunch of content and fills some plot holes that were left unsolved in the original game.
-
Nov 23, 2015The Old Hunters has questions, has answers, and has some glorious new secrets to be uncovered. If you have already experienced Bloodborne, this add-on is absolutely essential. If you haven’t, it’s the perfect time to join the Old Hunters and journey through the streets of Yharnam and the new nightmares that follow.
-
Pelit (Finland)Mar 3, 2016One of the best games of 2015 gets even better. Worth buying a PS4 for. [Jan 2016]
-
Games Master UKFeb 9, 2016Grueling, gruesome, but ungrudging, it expands on all that's great about the original. Marvelous. [Jan 2016, p.79]
-
Dec 7, 2015Offering 6-8 hours of fresh content, The Old Hunters exemplifies DLC that actually enriches the sources rather than simply milking fans with lacklustre skins and the like.
-
GameTrailersNov 24, 2015It enriches the world and makes combat more exciting than ever.
-
Jan 25, 2016It provided more of what people loved about Bloodborne; fantastic music, cool trick weapons, and monstrous bosses that will kick your ass. If you’d loved Bloodborne as much as I did, this DLC is a must purchase.
-
Playstation Official Magazine UKJan 23, 2016The Old Hunters is DLC as it should be: an essential challenge that enriches the original rather than diminishing it. Being horrified has rarely felt this rewarding. [Jan 2016, p.92]
-
Play UKJan 16, 2016Harsh, unrelenting and imaginative, The Old Hunters is a superb gaming experience and a masterclass in DLC development. [Issue#265, p.74]
-
Jan 9, 2016In the end the Old Hunters expansion is just as an essential purchase as Bloodborne itself.
-
Dec 9, 2015The Old Hunters is a great return in the universe of Bloodborne, thanks to an outstanding level design, tough boss fights and many new weapons.
-
Dec 8, 2015This first and only Bloodborne expansion is exactly what the DLC should be.
-
Dec 3, 2015The Old Hunters is a fantastic add on the Bloodborne. It keeps you busy for at least 20 more hours. Next to that it offers a lot of new weapons, armor and enemies.
-
Dec 2, 2015The Old Hunters could not have dropped at a better time. After months of being away from Bloodborne, the game has once again wormed its way into my life, and once again, it’s all I can spend every waking moment thinking of. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have more new weapons to hunt down.
-
Nov 26, 2015The Old Hunters honors Bloodborne in its deepest form. The uniquely designed, eery worlds offer a great place to enjoy the awesome fighting system. You will never feel safe, but you will often feel satisfied.
-
Nov 24, 2015From Software has always excelled when it comes to DLC, and The Old Hunters is no exception. It's simply some of the best Bloodborne content you'll ever find, especially if you blazed through the game last Spring and need a valid reason to relive the nightmare all over again.
-
Nov 24, 2015The Old Hunters provides a dozen or so hours of engaging gameplay and an extra dose of grim atmosphere. Exploration of the mysterious world is still a huge pleasure.
-
Nov 23, 2015More than just DLC. It’s a core part of the Bloodborne experience.
-
Nov 23, 2015Besides the few flaws, the expansion is fantastic and I'm sure hardcore fans will sit back and consume it like a delicious wine just like they did with the main game. More Bloodborne is always a good thing!
-
Nov 23, 2015The Old Hunters is a worthwhile expansion to one of the best games of the year and a shining example of how DLC should be made.
-
Nov 23, 2015Quotation forthcoming.
-
Nov 23, 2015Old Hunters expands Bloodborne's universe with new areas, weapons and enemies. Although it has an average duration, this trip to the past is more than appetizing for those enthralled by the Moon.
-
Nov 23, 2015An excellent expansion to what is not only the best game of the year, but one of the best action games of all-time.
-
Nov 23, 2015It’ll give you just about everything you’ve come to expect from From Software RPGs — new enemies to fight, new weapons and items to uncover, a big new map to explore, and of course, the soul crushing defeats.
-
Nov 23, 2015The Old Hunters is Bloodborne from another time and place, and with more difficult bosses and confounding stories to unravel, it's a fitting complement to the original, gruesome adventure.
-
Nov 23, 2015Far from tacked-on extra content, The Old Hunters is the expansion Bloodborne deserves, with morsels of lore, imaginative weapons, and engaging battles making it well worth your time and pain.
-
Nov 23, 2015For the most part, The Old Hunters feels like a tight, good bit of content that fans of the original game will thoroughly enjoy. The Old Hunters ratchets up Bloodborne’s difficulty quite a bit. But in doing so, the satisfaction of beating bosses only gets stronger.
-
Nov 23, 2015A brilliant expansion to an already unmissable gaming experience.
-
Nov 23, 2015Bloodborne: The Old Hunters is much more of the same from what is already an outstanding game.
-
Nov 23, 2015Bloodborne: The Old Hunters is a solid and enjoyable expansion that adds some much-needed new content to the game in exactly the right places.
-
Nov 29, 2015The Old Hunters is mostly one thing: more Bloodborne. The expansion is just as great as the main game, but doesn't offer any innovation at all.
-
Nov 23, 2015A good expansion for one of 2015's best games.
-
Nov 23, 2015It’s not easy to add something to a game as perfect as Bloodborne and The Old Hunters isn’t revolutionary or super original, but it definitely gives the hardcore fans exactly what they need.
-
Nov 23, 2015The Old Hunters is what every other DLC should be: fresh, challenging and full of quality content, and one that doesn't feel as if ripped from the main game. Nightmares never felt so delightful.
-
Nov 27, 2015The Old Hunters is a decent expansion for Bloodborne owners. It gives you 10 new weapons, tons of content and 4 different boss fight. If you loved Bloodborne, you'll definitely love The Old Hunters too.
-
Nov 26, 2015If you own Bloodborne, you should own The Old Hunters. This add-on offers more enemies, weapons, items and locations to discover and it fits perfectly with the rest of the game. The enemies are meaner and tougher than ever before and that is exactly what we have been asking for.
-
Nov 23, 2015It's filled with content (almost 15 hours to get to the optional fifth boss), new weapons and more variety in the combat system, and even new fascinating areas of Yarnham. Fans should really consider buying this DLC, especially since it will be the only one dedicated to the game.
-
Nov 23, 2015Old Hunters is more Bloodborne. Neither better, not different. More content, more challenging bosses and more weapons. If you loved it in February, you're gonna love this DLC.
-
Nov 25, 2015A gruesome descent into hell filled with relentless challenge in every inch, The Old Hunters is a great continuation of Bloodborne, even if it ends feeling rather short and some recycled elements make it lose some luster.
-
Nov 24, 2015If you plan on tanking through and have the chops to get it done, I still feel the $20 price more than worth it to get some new weapons and clothing to carry into your NGP.
-
Jan 11, 2016The Old Hunter’s is a great expansion for die hard fans of Bloodborne. It brings a good amount of fresh content to the game without doing anything to alter the formula. It’s more of the same, which is a good thing. Just be prepared for the difficulty as it is as unrelenting as ever.
-
Dec 22, 2015My only real complaint with The Old Hunters is the length. Depending on how you play it, you can easily finish the entire thing in under a few hours.
-
Dec 4, 2015The Old Hunters aims to deepen the experience of the original by taking the good ideas in Bloodborne and expanding on them. And on those terms it’s a success.
-
Dec 3, 2015It's a testament to how expertly-crafted this DLC is that I can replay the base game in preparation, still get my ass kicked to an embarrassing degree, and ultimately walk away feeling satisfied and as capable as ever. The Old Hunters is definitely more "hardcore" than anything From Software has cooked up in recent memory, but those who want this know who they are, and for that select group, The Old Hunters is everything they signed up for and more.
-
Dec 2, 2015The Old Hunters is a very good DLC that needs some time to gain full momentum and even during weaker moments its quality is high. The artistic vision isn't as clear and overwhelming as in the basic game but I had great fun and all Bloodborne fans will feel the same, I'm sure.
-
Nov 25, 2015We expected a bit more from a “lore” standpoint, but this is still a great expansion, with amazing new weapons and extremely challenging bosses and situations. Quite the treat for Souls fans.
-
Nov 24, 2015The Old Hunters is inconvenient to access and its first moments aren’t inspired, but it has the ability to rise in the next areas, where we find great level design and the ability to continue to surprise us.
-
Nov 23, 2015The Old Hunters provide invaluable hindsight through this nightmare, exhuming Yharnam's darkest secrets while fleshing out the gameplay with an extended set of tools. Therefore it's not only an addition to Bloodborne, but a truly fundamental part that should have been - and probably was - lying there from the beginning.
-
Nov 23, 2015Ironically, The Old Hunters gives Bloodborne players more of what they want by obscuring its own nature. It's attractive because it still delivers a feverish unknown to a ravenous base.
-
Nov 23, 2015Bloodborne: The Old Hunters is a solid add-on to an already outstanding game. While it fails to try anything new and is relatively short, the bosses make this something worthy of trekking through, especially for existing fans.
-
Nov 23, 2015A dense, intriguing, but ultimately safe expansion, The Old Hunters is more of the same brutal Bloodborne experience.
-
CD-ActionMar 4, 2016Some insist that Souls’ and Bloodborne’s greatest quality is their sadistic difficulty. If so, The Old Hunters is hands down the best game by From Software. [02/2016, p.48]
-
Nov 23, 2015I might sound down on a lot of aspects of The Old Hunters, but ultimately, it will satiate most fans out there.
-
Nov 24, 2015It’s great to see some new areas and bosses for Bloodborne, but as it stands I don’t find it necessary. Most that love Bloodborne will eat this new content up with a silver spoon wanting more. I’m content with what the base game offered, and find it almost unnecessary, but I do appreciate what is offered for those wanting more reasons to jump back into the world of monsters and hunters.
-
Dec 3, 2015More isn’t bad just for its faults and repetitions. It’s worse than that: Bloodborne was pure—and The Old Hunters dilutes it.

-
Dec 9, 2015It may not surpass Dark Souls as my favorite game in the series, but Bloodborne is still a wonderful way to usher the franchise onto a new generation of consoles, for new and old players alike. Buy It.
-
Dec 8, 2015The Old Hunters provides new riffs and deeper context to all the best, most memorable ideas in Bloodborne.
