    It's currently not in a playable state, even with 4 patches and an added sarcastic tutorial addition. The game still crashes at random points in the game normally after a conversation so each party just stares at each other until you admit defeat and go to menu and since you can't save it, you go back to whatever checkpoint was before ...

    Occasionally it'll crash while walking around or suddenly the scene will turn black and white for no obvious reasons. it's a shame as the story and premise seem good, but with the jarring loading, those hall of fame cards coming at you and causing more loading issues, plus the crashes make it unplayable. Game needs more patches, i think Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft should take a little blame, as what's the point of given the 'ok' on a game that's in this state... it's embarrassing and fills the current market with 0 confidence in them. Money comes before gamers no matter their company slogans    … Expand

    The release of this game was a complete mess (crashes, unobtainable trophies, sound issues, corrupted saves,..) and I can fully understand the negative reviews back then.
    Thanks to the continuous patches the game is currently playable and all critical issues are solved, version 1.06 in Ps4.
    Nevertheless the game is still very poor technically showing one of the worse uses of the unity    The release of this game was a complete mess (crashes, unobtainable trophies, sound issues, corrupted saves,..) and I can fully understand the negative reviews back then.

    Nevertheless the game is still very poor technically showing one of the worse uses of the unity engine with some PS1 textures and having a "Grim fandango" tank control.
    On the other side if you like film Noir and an adult compelling story that will keep you interested till the end this game is a must.
    Beside the technical issues the game adapts very well the awarded Spanish comic into the video game language with and incredible cinematography. It has also a perfectly fitting jazz OST.
    If you like graphic adventures in general or the Telltale games, give it a try, with it's current price this game will not disappoint you.    … Expand

    I finished the game on one sitting because I was afraid to turn it off so my progress would be lost so i played and finished it in about 7 hours.

    What I Liked:
    1. good protagonist has that kind of charm that will stick with you.
    2. perfect setting i liked whole animals thing in the game it was different from anything i played.
    3. nice soundtrack.

    What I Didnt Like:
    1. it felt to me that some characters didnt have any emotions or feelings. also the dialogue was pretty bad even though i couldnt hear half of it because of voice cut bugs so i had to read subtitles.
    2. horrible camera placement and movement it really annoyed me and wanted to turn off the game.
    3. story felt like half done to be honest some choices didnt make sense or did anything different.
    4. graphics were pretty bad so were textures it was laughable really even after patch.
    5.the whole game resolves around the last fight contender vs champion i even bet money on contender to win the match you build up the whole game to see the fight but the game finished without showing the fight it was pretty lackluster and ruined the whole experience for me.what was the point of me betting then? if I cant see who won or what happened. I was expecting cinematic of sort but game ends abruptly with ending that doesnt make sense.

    now to end this review i must say that i am disappointed i pre ordered the game and got most broken game I have ever purchased its shame really for game in 2019 to be this broken. if it wasnt enough also the ending ruined it for me i didnt accomplish anything i didnt see the "big fight".

    it has good moments but with amount of bugs and weak ending i cant recommend this game for 40$ if you really want to play wait for it to become 20$ or cheaper it doesnt worth more.    … Expand

    The game launch was delayed yet due to tech error it was released on Nov 5th on XBOX and PS4. It was buggy and unplayable but Microids created a patch really quickly so now players have a chance to test the game before official release) Tech aspects still can't be judged but the plot is good and solid.

    I'm very fan of Blacksad and I was waiting with a lot of hype this game, and the experience hasn't disappointed because the plot and characters are up to the task, but only i recommend this game if you are fan of Blacksad, because in the tecnic aspect is a little deficient and that can generate a bad experience with this game.

    Long loading times, I heard it was worse before the patches but in 2022 there a still quite some performance issues.
    The concept of the game is interesting though

    About 15 minutes in and the game crashes. This never should have been released in such a broken, unplayable state. I'm returning for a refund.

    I gave this game pretty high rating, but I also struggle to recommend it to my friends. It's both amazing and messy at the same time. I'm a fan of a Blacksad comic series, so.. very bias. This game is just like Witcher 1 for CD Projekt Red. Local developers adapting local author. If they don't stop - they will come to Blacksad on Witcher 3 level.

    No le pongo un 10 por todos los bugs que tiene, no sé si han conseguido arreglarlos al 100% pero la ultima vez que intenté rejugarlo seguía con fallos. Es muy entretenido y los gráficos son fieles al cómic pero la jugabilidad termina desquiciandote, ojalá lo hayan arreglado porque por todo lo demás es muy buen juego.

    Great story, amazing art direction, truly faithful to the source material. It has some interesting ideas on how to make a detective game work. Unfortunately clunky gameplay and quality issues tend to bring the experience down. Nevertheless I would gladly get on Jhon Blacksad skin again if there is ever a sequel. If you loved the setting and the story I highly recommend you the comic.

    Problems aside though Blacksad: Under the Skin is an interesting tale of murder and corruption that presents in one of the best takes on the adventure game formula-multiple endings, choices that really matter, and a cast of characters that are extremely engaging. I never felt like the story was coming out of left field with its ideas, and was shocked when I started figuring out what was happening. I love this game and if the Life Is Strange or one of the many Telltale series has ever been enjoyable, I think there’s a lot of enjoy in Blacksad.

    Blacksad: Under The Skin is a specific case where an overall good game gets totally ruined by the appalling technical side of things. Go for the PC version as it shows a much better finish.
