    What bone heads are a saying they can scrap a campaign to put more emphasis in multiplayer. As if they could pull it off. The multiplayer seems not close to being good enough to not even have a campaign to fall back on. After a few hours it gets repetitive and boring. I need some kind of story to engage me.     - experimenting with new mechanics and trying new ideas

    - it is anti-competitive and anti-squad / team play
    - mostly copies the wrong stuff from other games like COD
    - very poorly optimised, ugly, buggy

    My review here is based on BF2042 vs BF4. The gfx don't seem as good, definitely more effects and lighting etc but not for me. Terribly buggy at the moment, random crashes changing settings and the death ragdoll is from 20 years ago. Maps seem incomplete, large map with random detailed parts and the rest empty. Needs so much more optimising in EVERY part of the game. If it's better in 6My review here is based on BF2042 vs BF4.     Battlefield is at an all time low with 2042. Such a shame after the amazing Battlefield 1. 2042 does almost everything wrong. This is what you get when you don’t listen to your fans. A hollow shell of a game with less of everything offered in previous titles. I am loosing all confidence in DICE to deliver a finished/working game.

    Some nice visual elements and fan service here and there but overall it's rotten to the core. This franchise is dead. Absolute cringe. Do yourself a favor and don't waste your money.

    A sad, sad day. A stripped down Battlefield that plays like a smartphone shooter. Some points for PS4 users:

    -worse texture and particle effect work than BF1 and BFV. Explosions look like low resolution gifs placed into the game (this might be what we’re actually seeing) -laggy hit registration -downgraded plane and heli piloting controls and mechanics -poor animation work -MOST    A sad, sad day. Второй момент это мерцающая вода на картах Battlefield 1942. Периодически отваливается матчмейкинг при создании лобби, лечится это однократным перезапуском игры. Пока других багов не заметил. Я смотрел стримы людей с топовыми ПК, PS4, PS5, боксами, везде это выглядит как игра из 2006. Помните Delta Force с оружием из 2d спрайтов? Как это выглядело в то время? Вот так же сейчас выглядит новый Battlefield. Холмы из треугольных полигонов с ужасающего качества редкой спрайтовой травой. Отдельного внимания заслуживает прогрузка моделей и текстур персонажей в меню (привет тем, у кого не SSD). Сначала грузится что-то напоминающее руку Эрика Картмана, из серии где он нарисовал на ней лицо Дженнифер Лопез, потом какая-то ужасающе низкополигональная маска оператора, а следом уже нормальная модель и ее текстура. Причем это происходит за пару секунд и лучше бы они какой-то загрузчик туда повесили, чтобы он сразу сменялся нормальной моделькой. Сами операторы выглядят совершенно несуразно, их дизайн и исполнение настолько пластилиновые, что они просто не воспринимаются как люди. Это скорее какой-то Army Men. Их реплики и эмоции настолько неуместны и несуразны, что заставляют тебя задуматься о том, почему именно ты испытываешь испанский стыд, а не тот, кто это все рисовал. Такое чувство, что в игре существует только вертикальная отдача, как в Bad Company (не скажу наверняка в 1 или 2). Что касается знаменитой разрушаемости Frostbite, то здесь она хуже чем в Bad Company. Вообще физика новой батлы это огромный шаг назад. Опять вернусь к операторам - они убогие, их перки и гаджеты просто отвратительны. Никаких запоминающихся реплик типа "Я попал под серьезное дерьмо" от сурового медика в красном берете или "Вы посмотрите, что они с домами-то сотворили". В игре нет души, наверное потому что вас сразу кидают в мультиплеер с минимальным объяснением сеттинга и сути конфликта. Вы играете за безликих людей, которые выглядят как манекены с китайского рынка пали. И сама игра также воспринимается как подделка, как дешевая елочная игрушка, которая висит себе на елке, блестит, но не радует.    … Expand

    There is no scoreboard, stats, server browser, but hey, there is tornadoes, penguins, skins and takedowns, yay! Like, this game is more COD than every Battlefield. Maps are too big, too blah, everythings looks like it was made from cardboard, BfV has better graphics and more natural movments, also the better destruction. I played Bf from the Bad Company and i really want to love this game, but they make it so hard. When selecting spawn points it will act as if it understands what I selected but then takes me halfway across the map to a location i didn’t want causing me to off myself because i’d rather do that than run for a couple kilometers. (I’d almost rather off myself than play this game tbh). There’s no fighting or racing towards jets and helis anymore. Now you just spawn in one while it’s already flying. I **** you guys/gals not. They put every battlefield experience in the trailer of this game to try and sell you it, and left everything that makes it a battlefield game out of it when you play it. Hands down, never trusting EA or Dice for **** again. You think I would have learned after the previous games they took advantage of for money. But nope.

    I'll say one thing – far cry is better than this. Just as for many others, it's certainly the last bf I preorder. Not sure if I'm looking forward to buying any future bfs. Likely not. That's very sad. it was my favourite game since 2142 and until like bf4. By that I mean that I mostly played this title for most of my time out of my total vg experience for more than 20 years. bf 1 wasI'll say one thing – far cry is better than this. It feels like Dice has a total disconnection and lack of respect for the player base that are essentially the ones who pay the bills.     The total lack of any recognition of the issues and bury your head in the sand approach to how the community feels about the game, will ultimately be why this game will be forgotten about very soon.

    Why a design team with such a solid foundation for the perfect blend of not being too much milsim and not too much arcade would make some of these design decisions is beyond me. I can only think that the team working on this game is definitely not the same team as what we've seen in the past. I often wonder whether any of Dice actually play tested this game in the first place.

    The introduction of "characters" that can carry any weapon into the game with specific abilities, instantly kills off the experience. One, that's not battlefield. Two, it's just killed all your squad play. Three, there's only a handful of them on each team (The same on BOTH teams). Four, it's just killed off vehicles being fun as every character can carry AA or AT... These core choices they've made kill the game before it even gets off the ground.

    Combine this with large maps, you just end up with a mess of players running around like headless chickens. From my experience 90% of players are just playing solo off on their own little jolly testing out wing suits and seeing how long they last as a one man army.

    I don't normally rant on reviews, but I've played pretty much every iteration of this franchise. From 1942, Desert Combat etc to the days of 2142, BF2 and all the way up. But what they've handed out this time is pretty much unforgiveable. I feel like they've just said **** you" to everyone that's made this game what it is, in favor of trying to rope in kiddies who want to play as "characters" with "powers" like the rest of the god awful cheap immature franchises we see today.    … Expand

UI is confusing as hell and lacks basic options such as screen calibration, controls are clunky, maps are more bigger than neccesary, for being triple AAA it lacks singleplayer mode or game modes to compensate, graphics are not only worse than previous Battlefield evenThis has to be one of the worst games i played in the last years. Im just impressed with how rushed this game feels. EA shamefully just gets worse with every game they release, the same with this franchise, and they clearly put less effort with their games... The only part of the game i enjoyed was the Bad Company 2 maps, because that were genuinely good designed maps and even then they managed to ruin it because of the physics of the new engine, lack of maps being only two and the they lack the UAV.
    I would even go as far to say that the beta was actually A BETTER GAME, yes, A BETA!!! Since it did a better job balancing the weapons, having a simpler interface, and a screen calibration option, and yet IT WAS FREE, and EA charges this game full for 60 BUCKS! One of the most lazy, rush, unpolished, boring and bad designed games i ever seen.    … Expand

    yes, i do care about if my god damn assault rifle is in a playable state!

    -teambalance is horrible. its always one side stomping the other to the fullest and my teammates feel like bots. 0 reaction to pings. they never revive anyone. if i had a gun on my head and had to bet my life i would say they arent able to dress themselves in real life. thats how bad they are. dice doesnt really seem to care about these problems. they rather fix xp-lobbies so people have to grind their ass off for weeks to unlock 5 guns. how dare they to get weapons and gear that should be way easier to unlock? that game doesnt feel like "we are not making a campaign to focus on multiplayer". this feels like they tried to make as much money as they can with low costs. i wish we could revive bf3 or bf4. and i dont mean that half-assed portalmode.    … Expand

    Una decepcion, no mal gaste su dinero y alejece de esta beta mal llamada juego, los graficos y optimizacion son un chiste mal contado hasta battlefield 5 se ve mejor. Los especialistas no encajan no me estrañaria que mas adelante saquen mil skins para sacarle el dinero con esto.

Например, играл я на открытии за медика, все точки были у врага, я реснулся и к тому времени как я добежал до ближайшей для меня точки, ц1, мы уже потеряли сотню, так ещё и меня слил рандомный снайпер с 800 метров. Может в компании играть интереснее, не пробывал, так как ни один мой друг не хочет покупать эту парашу за фул прайс.

    Barely any guns in the base game, portal has had most of the guns from previous titles taken out (probably to make it seem like bf2042 isn’t shockingly lacking compared to previous instalments).

    Gun unlock system is just a COD clone. Gone are the Battlefield days where if you wanted a specific sniper rifle, so you’d use a sniper class. I personally loved this system. Now you use anything and get everything purely by level in up. Maps are almost too large, it’s a sprinting simulator half the time. Hit registration is poor (you’ll shoot between the targets legs and get hit markers, but shoot them in the elbow and you won’t get a hit) Terrible performance with a 3080TI has now thankfully been patched by nvidia (pre-patch, on lowest settings and FFR on @2k res, I was getting 40-90 fps, post-patch I am now thankfully getting 75-130 in fully maxed out bar ray-tracing, FRR on).

    This is just off the top of my head while taking a poo, I’m sure there is plenty I missed. Gutted about this one as always loved Battlefield, with the exception of Hardline. Even tho bf5 and bf1 weren’t great bf examples, I still enjoyed them lot.    … Expand

    The game is barely playable. The only reason I gave it a 2 is that portal has potential and modes like infection can be very fun. The actual game of 2042 is a woke joke. What made Battlefield 1 and prior titles great was their atmosphere and level of detail. This game has neither. A true shame and hope they issue mass refunds for this turd of a game.

    I’m actually shocked how bad this game has been. Between the inaccuracies in the weapons at mid to long range. Spawn glitches, where your stuck unable to spawn. When you do spawn, it could be directly in the middle of fire and will be killed almost instantly. The occasional inability to revive or be revived. Lack of anti air shoulder weapons and just an overall lack of weapons in general.I’m actually shocked how bad this game has been. Between the inaccuracies in the weapons at mid to long range. In the larger maps you will spend a lot of time time walking long distances to get to objectives because the pre match inability to fill vehicles. Only allowing one player to enter the selected vehicle and dropping the rest of the players on foot. Leaving them to try and find a ride(rare that other player wait and let you in) or walk the entire map to the different objectives. The portal feature is neat. Allowing a nostalgic feel in reliving some of the other BF favorites. Yet again though the lack of weapons, attachments and lack of maps available start to hinder some of this gameplay as well. I would consider myself a Battlefield enthusiast with over 500hrs + logged into BF4 and another 300+ in BF3 not to mention many hours in all the other BF games combined. Overall I’m genuinely disappointed in this game and may unfortunately label this game my least favorite BF game of all time. It’s a huge miss for the community with a game that had/has potential to be another fun Battlefield game. Hopefully this game can pull a 180 with some patches and dlc content.     I've expected something as good and polished like Battlefield V , but i've got really raw, buggy and overall broken product. What's most important in FPS games? Guns and gameplay. Guns are absolute crap. There is no bullet fly distance - if you point a gun to some point, the bullet will land exactly at this point. Automatic rifles have gigantic bloom, and current meta is submachine guns (why?!). Shooting feels like it's from 2000s - so poor and disappointing. They broken all core mechanics from previous games. K/D ratio? Statistics? Scoreboard? Squad choose? Chat? Why it's all gone? To not bother bad players, so insteading of learning how to play the game they will buy some new 'specialists'? Classes are gone , and now we have some sort of 'specialists'. They're absolute worthless characters, not veteran soldiers that had lost their homeland and now fighting for different countries just for money in a falling apart world, but some kind of 'funny hooligan teens'. They're lines are all cringe. On PS4 game looks disgusting - graphics are 3 times worse that BF5 , and even more poor than BF4, which was released 8 years ago. Glitches are not funny anymore - yesterday i can't pilot a tank, because FPS view glitched and i've seen nothing but muzzle of a tank and white textures below the ground. So.... Overall it's not worth it's money. Wait 3-6 months, wait for discount and then you'll get a mediocre FPS apex-fortnite-whatever clone. But it doesn't like a BF anymore.… Expand

    Battlefield 2042 adds little in the new department and takes away a lot from the old. Without leaning onto the presupposed Portal community, having in mind the lack of an actual campaign and overall lack of technical stability, you have very little reason to be interested in Battlefield 2042

    If you’re looking to enjoy the next Battlefield title, turn back now. With the next patch not slated to arrive for another month, and the next content update to release some time after that, it’s going to be a while before 2042 can earn the right to be called a true Battlefield game. It’s best to wait until the smoke clears and DICE fixes any major bugs (maybe even wait for it to go on discount) before spending $70 on this game.
