    Gun progression is not working! Specialist progression is not working!

    Hit registration sometimes does not even work for SOLO play! Loadouts get reset. No score screen. Flat boring maps. Control remapping does not work. Bullet spread does NOT follow gun aim during recoil, but rather it is random and comically extreme, with bullets going everywhere but where the gun is    Gun progression is not working! Specialist progression is not working!

    Hit registration sometimes does not even work for SOLO play!

    Loadouts get reset.

    No score screen.

    Flat boring maps.

    Control remapping does not work.

    Bullet spread does NOT follow gun aim during recoil, but rather it is random and comically extreme, with bullets going everywhere but where the gun is actually pointed. Note that this is not a player aiming skill issue, the issue is that bullets are randomly shot off in directions other than where the gun is actually pointing, irrespective of how good your aim is. Although it is true that some deviation is expected, even for perfect aim in real life shooting, the amount of deviation in BF2042 bullet spread is comically extreme. You've heard of gun accuracy being measured in MOA or sub-MOA? BF2042 gives you gun accuracy in the tens of degrees!!! It is unusably broken to the point where player aim doesn't even factor into the equation.

    Lobby disbands after each match and goes back into searching for a lobby, so you don't get to play with the same people. Is this because EA cheaped out on server capacities and thus this gives everyone a fairer share of play vs waiting to play? As opposed to letting everyone play, with little waiting time, if they'd had enough servers with enough capacity?

    Getting spawned into the death animation is so much fun!

    Vehicles are being used to spawn trap kill, because of poor map design.

    No campaign, to focus on multiplayer and THIS is what we get!?!?!?

    The most disappointing game from Dice of all. This game is NOT remotely finished. Spread on guns is insane past 30 meters, completely unbalanced specialists, limited overall content, and an absence of a scoreboard. Do not buy!

    I played it a few Hours. Highly doubt that they will ever make a good Game out of this .. really underwhelming.have to change from 3 to 0 first day patch was not really impressive. The patches 2-3 where just fixeing small issues. It’s not Fun to play. Maybe looks good on pc but ps4 it’s crap. Refund was rejected. Game doesn’t feel like an bf at all

    The social justice warriors wearing man buns over at Dice have just killed one of the biggest franchises in the gaming industry. They better pray Portal saves the game because all other aspects of the game are trash. Terrible bugs and the U.I. is the worst of any game I have ever played and you are looking at someone that was around playing Atari and Commodore 64s and played Pong.     The game engine is crap, the failed BFV looks better, and works better. The character animations looks a free2play game, the sounds ambience is gone.
    Maps are clean and dont feel like a war. I refund the game. They killed Battlefield with this warzone and apex copy

(I’d almost rather off myself than play this game tbh). There’s no fighting or racing towards jets and helis anymore. Now you just spawn in one while it’s already flying. I **** you guys/gals not. They put every battlefield experience in the trailer of this game to try and sell you it, and left everything that makes it a battlefield game out of it when you play it. Hands down, never trusting EA or Dice for **** again. You think I would have learned after the previous games they took advantage of for money. But nope.

    Zero registration. Basically no net code. Don’t know about next gen but it seems like dice don’t care about ps4 and the servers run with 5 tickrate maximum. Unplayable garbage.

Dice falsely advertised the worst BF yet- removal of classes, cringy-speaking specialists, enormous, lifeless maps, horrible hit registration, bloom from the weapons, 22 weapons at launch is pathetic, broken hovercraft gameplay, zero reason to play as infantry, a lifeless, soulless, plastic experience. Removal of core gameplay features, sluggish movement, awful running with weapon animation, hazard zone is a boring Warzone plunder squads rip off, conquest is a running simulator, poor framerate, constant bugs, falling through maps, broken hit boxes, only 6 maps, all of which are awful, at launch. No rush mode. UI is god awful, large, and makes no sense. No campaign. No mounting or peeking corners, no scoreboard. Unbalanced, overpowered vehicles with no counter play, yet have horrendous samey controls across vehicles. Like 6 different loading screens before you jump into the map. Portal is restrictive: no rush mode, no ability to choose certain sections to make smaller maps out of, only 6 maps across 3 previous games. Lack of any sense of Battlefield experience in any way.… Expand

But this is unacceptable. You stripped half of the features that were included in previous battlefield game. Voice chat. Scoreboard, incoming medic messages. Mini map sizing. Squad selection. ServerGame is not even half developed. Wtf is wrong with this company. You ruined my favorite FPS series of all time. I loved every battlefield from bc2 to BFV even with each game having its flaws.     I was very curious about Battlefield 2042, I really though this had the potential to bring the franchise to the next level. After playing several hours for the last two days in PS4, I have to admit that this is by far the worst Battlefield game I've ever played. The graphics are outrageous, I've played PS3 games with better graphics than this.
    The specialist are a big mistake in my opinion, absolutely nobody cooperates with the rest of the players anymore. The class system from previous games worked great and was a key difference that Battlefield had over COD, why would they get rid of it? Smaller thing, the UI is absolutely horrible also. Everybody talked **** about Battlefield V and I but those games leave this one in the dust every day of the week. Worst part is, I don't think that this game can be saved, the main problems are not bugs that much, the problems are the game fundamentals - and this can not be patched easily. This could kill Battlefield.

Explosions look like low resolution gifs placed into the game (this might be what we’re actually seeing) -laggy hit registration -downgraded plane and heli piloting controls and mechanics -poor animation work -MOST    A sad, sad day. It scrapes the last joy out of you, while it panders to the literal children who can't take being at the bottom of a scoreboard, and this destroys the entire point of playing the game...     The Specialist system is a complete betrayal of what made battlefield great in the past ruining the potential of this game and now it's just become COD2042. You can hardly tell teammate to enemy and on top of that there is no more teamwork as everyone is using what's meta instead of helping with ammo or med packs. Complete betrayal by Dice yet again.

Automatic rifles have gigantic bloom, and current meta is submachine guns (why?!). Shooting feels like it's from 2000s - so poor and disappointing. They broken all core mechanics from previous games. K/D ratio? Statistics? Scoreboard? Squad choose? Chat? Why it's all gone? To not bother bad players, so insteading of learning how to play the game they will buy some new 'specialists'? Classes are gone , and now we have some sort of 'specialists'. They're absolute worthless characters, not veteran soldiers that had lost their homeland and now fighting for different countries just for money in a falling apart world, but some kind of 'funny hooligan teens'. They're lines are all cringe. On PS4 game looks disgusting - graphics are 3 times worse that BF5 , and even more poor than BF4, which was released 8 years ago. Glitches are not funny anymore - yesterday i can't pilot a tank, because FPS view glitched and i've seen nothing but muzzle of a tank and white textures below the ground. So.... Overall it's not worth it's money. Wait 3-6 months, wait for discount and then you'll get a mediocre FPS apex-fortnite-whatever clone. But it doesn't like a BF anymore.… Expand

    My review here is based on BF2042 vs BF4. The gfx don't seem as good, definitely more effects and lighting etc but not for me. Terribly buggy at the moment, random crashes changing settings and the death ragdoll is from 20 years ago. Maps seem incomplete, large map with random detailed parts and the rest empty. Needs so much more optimising in EVERY part of the game. If it's better in 6My review here is based on BF2042 vs BF4.     Battlefield is at an all time low with 2042. Such a shame after the amazing Battlefield 1. 2042 does almost everything wrong. This is what you get when you don’t listen to your fans. A hollow shell of a game with less of everything offered in previous titles. I am loosing all confidence in DICE to deliver a finished/working game.

EA shamefully just gets worse with every game they release, the same with this franchise, and they clearly put less effort with their games... The only part of the game i enjoyed was the Bad Company 2 maps, because that were genuinely good designed maps and even then they managed to ruin it because of the physics of the new engine, lack of maps being only two and the they lack the UAV.
    I would even go as far to say that the beta was actually A BETTER GAME, yes, A BETA!!! Since it did a better job balancing the weapons, having a simpler interface, and a screen calibration option, and yet IT WAS FREE, and EA charges this game full for 60 BUCKS! One of the most lazy, rush, unpolished, boring and bad designed games i ever seen.    … Expand

    There’re many compare this one to cyberpunk 2077. Well, it’s partially true in a certain degree. But    I really wanted to see bf2042 succeeded. Not only as a fan of bf since bf3, but after so many years of horse sh** activitionblizzard has dumped into the industry, I wanted to breathe some bloody fresh air. But you know the drill. This is ea, after all, and what you expect is what you get.
    There’re many compare this one to cyberpunk 2077. Well, it’s partially true in a certain degree. But witnessing a hero’s fallen is nothing like seeing an old villain slowly revealing his true nature and becoming the way you always know him for.
    So all in all, this is bf2042 and it’s a buggy mess at this point. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to buy this game. There’re so many meaningful things you can do with you precious 120 bucks. We’re long enough suffering through this terrible lockdown. Having a nice Christmas dinner with your family and loved ones, going somewhere, saving up for your graduate school. The multiplayer seems not close to being good enough to not even have a campaign to fall back on. After a few hours it gets repetitive and boring. I need some kind of story to engage me.     Не смотря на то, что я пока не смог сложить какое-то общее впечатление и все еще ожидаю десятки гигабайт патчей, которые возможно что-то исправят, могу сказать что игра еще крайне сырая и скорее претендует на альфа версию.

    Очень забагованный бег с рывками. Вряд ли проблема кроется в качестве интернет соединения. У меня оптика 500/500. Возможно проблема в неткоде, как это обычно бывает у    Не смотря на то, что я пока не смог сложить какое-то общее впечатление и все еще ожидаю десятки гигабайт патчей, которые возможно что-то исправят, могу сказать что игра еще крайне сырая и скорее претендует на альфа версию.

    Очень забагованный бег с рывками. Вряд ли проблема кроется в качестве интернет соединения. У меня оптика 500/500. Возможно проблема в неткоде, как это обычно бывает у Dice. Второй момент это мерцающая вода на картах Battlefield 1942. Периодически отваливается матчмейкинг при создании лобби, лечится это однократным перезапуском игры. Пока других багов не заметил. Я смотрел стримы людей с топовыми ПК, PS4, PS5, боксами, везде это выглядит как игра из 2006. Помните Delta Force с оружием из 2d спрайтов? Как это выглядело в то время? Вот так же сейчас выглядит новый Battlefield. Холмы из треугольных полигонов с ужасающего качества редкой спрайтовой травой. Отдельного внимания заслуживает прогрузка моделей и текстур персонажей в меню (привет тем, у кого не SSD). Сначала грузится что-то напоминающее руку Эрика Картмана, из серии где он нарисовал на ней лицо Дженнифер Лопез, потом какая-то ужасающе низкополигональная маска оператора, а следом уже нормальная модель и ее текстура. Причем это происходит за пару секунд и лучше бы они какой-то загрузчик туда повесили, чтобы он сразу сменялся нормальной моделькой. Сами операторы выглядят совершенно несуразно, их дизайн и исполнение настолько пластилиновые, что они просто не воспринимаются как люди. Это скорее какой-то Army Men. Их реплики и эмоции настолько неуместны и несуразны, что заставляют тебя задуматься о том, почему именно ты испытываешь испанский стыд, а не тот, кто это все рисовал. Такое чувство, что в игре существует только вертикальная отдача, как в Bad Company (не скажу наверняка в 1 или 2). Что касается знаменитой разрушаемости Frostbite, то здесь она хуже чем в Bad Company. Вообще физика новой батлы это огромный шаг назад. Опять вернусь к операторам - они убогие, их перки и гаджеты просто отвратительны. Никаких запоминающихся реплик типа "Я попал под серьезное дерьмо" от сурового медика в красном берете или "Вы посмотрите, что они с домами-то сотворили". В игре нет души, наверное потому что вас сразу кидают в мультиплеер с минимальным объяснением сеттинга и сути конфликта. Вы играете за безликих людей, которые выглядят как манекены с китайского рынка пали. И сама игра также воспринимается как подделка, как дешевая елочная игрушка, которая висит себе на елке, блестит, но не радует.    … Expand

    Гитлер капут. До уровня бф4 не тянет, соотношение графика/производительность на ужасном уровне. Графон может тягаться ну разве что с 3ей батлой. Сервера дно, геймплей дно, графон дно, фпс дно, донат отлично работает.

    The game is barely playable. The only reason I gave it a 2 is that portal has potential and modes like infection can be very fun. The actual game of 2042 is a woke joke. What made Battlefield 1 and prior titles great was their atmosphere and level of detail. This game has neither. A true shame and hope they issue mass refunds for this turd of a game.

    You'll get stuck in a downed state. Lack of weapons. Lack of game modes. No campaign. Guns are very unbalanced. 3 shotguns that zero people use due to how open the maps are. Vehicles overpowered. I've been playing since battlefield 2 on playstation 2 and this was sad. So many features removed from past games.

You constantly stutter and lag in every game you play in. Grenades and explosions makes you stutter more and not getting the opportunity to move. Assault rifles have bullet spray so heavy they are unusable. Add incredible recoil not realistic to the weapon. Smg is the meta for having somewhat more normal gameplay. You have players getting stuck in lobbies after games where you must quit the game to exit the map. Bugs/things that makes the game difficult to play and enjoy: The whole gameplay is again laggy and buggy. If your new to the Battlefield game you’ll most likely delete the game after hours of dying in ways you can’t really understand how. Vehicles feels heavy and clunky. Planes like the little bird, chopper or jet is like flying a house in battlefield 2042. The once smooth chopper who made you a force in the sky is now made into a rocket shooting no hitting fridge with little to no way of being used for effective gameplay unless you hang around spawns and spamming rockets getting 50% hit registration. The maps are few and massive with little cover for multiple angles and firefights. In a 64 man server you run more between objectives than you attack enemies. It feels more like a running simulator from time to time. The gamechat is broken and not working, I am talking to myself most of the times in chat without anyone responding. The same goes for voice chat. The use of headset is now reduced from a way of having sound advantage on your enemies to hear the footsteps on every teammate instead. Where is the advantage in that? The sounds feels way of and often doesn’t help with finding enemies in the territory your in. The weapons are few and boring. From what I’ve read there is 24 main guns. For a Battlefield game? Wow.. And half of them are mostly useless because of weapon bullet spread. The vehicles are few and slow respawning. The game often kicks you out of lobbies when the game is finished and makes you do the whole searching game mechanics again and again. All the cutscenes and slow intro to the map makes you grow old before you are in the game. For some maps it can go up to 2 minutes+ from you spawn to your first firefight if you are left with running towards objectives. The once illustrious and creative maps with colors and creative map design has been reduced to flat maps with massive buildings with a lot of nothing in between. The once mechanics of exploding buildings and tearing down massive skyscrapers seems to be gone. It seems like they have reduced and removed most of the opportunities to make the maps real war zones. When it comes to the pre-order people have payed 120-150 dollars/Euros/Pounds to be EAs free game testers a whole week before us other people hit the game. Its embarrassing how the developers allows this kind of game hit the stores and make the user have a atrocious experience with supposedly having a life service to fix problems. This game won’t be great for up to a year in the future is my guess from earlier experience for Battlefield. I seriously think the development team should publicly explain how they let a half game get released and publicly say sorry to the whole community for this horrendous game. EA is a billion dollar company and should be the top quality development team we expect it to be. Instead they desperate release this game. Afraid of losing players to Cod Vanguard maybe? A cod franchise who died years ago and is nothing more than a yearly bad game releasing company. This game is just another BFV release catastrophe all over. Remember the devs saying before BFV “If you don’t like what we make, don’t buy it” then having the number of players buying the game drop nearly 50% from what I remember. And this review is from one weekend of gaming this atrocious game. I will not recommend this game for anyone for at least a couple of months and reviews is different.

    When it comes to the game reviewers who calls this game good should quit their job. It’s a blatant lie and looks payed off from EA’s devs to lie on a bad game.

    Why a design team with such a solid foundation for the perfect blend of not being too much milsim and not too much arcade would make some of these design decisions is beyond me. I can only think that the team working on this game is definitely not the same team as what we've seen in the past. I often wonder whether any of Dice actually play tested this game in the first place.

    The introduction of "characters" that can carry any weapon into the game with specific abilities, instantly kills off the experience. One, that's not battlefield. Two, it's just killed all your squad play. Three, there's only a handful of them on each team (The same on BOTH teams). Four, it's just killed off vehicles being fun as every character can carry AA or AT... These core choices they've made kill the game before it even gets off the ground.

    Combine this with large maps, you just end up with a mess of players running around like headless chickens. From my experience 90% of players are just playing solo off on their own little jolly testing out wing suits and seeing how long they last as a one man army.

    I don't normally rant on reviews, but I've played pretty much every iteration of this franchise. From 1942, Desert Combat etc to the days of 2142, BF2 and all the way up. But what they've handed out this time is pretty much unforgiveable. I feel like they've just said **** you" to everyone that's made this game what it is, in favor of trying to rope in kiddies who want to play as "characters" with "powers" like the rest of the god awful cheap immature franchises we see today.    … Expand

    Portal is a great mode, however because of the limitations of this engine's installment it does not look visually appealing at all.

    Be very wary of EA/DICE's online only "games as service" model, as seen with Titanfall 2's hackerfest, Anthem, Battlefront 2's cancellation of online service development, and Battlefield V's cancellation of development. EA and DICE have a track record that is very concerning and have a lack of talent.

    - No server browser. The only explanation for this is so they can implement skill-based matchmaking like Call of Duty.

    - Can't pick what squad to join. DICE decided it would be better to randomly pick one for you.

    - Can't see other people's kills or deaths, because DICE decided that would hurt their feelings.

    - Must watch multiple cutscenes before and after each game so people can show off their microtransactions

    - Gunplay is a severe downgrade from Battlefield V

    - Hit reg is atrocious, you will have the reticule on a person, shoot, and still miss.

    - Random bullet spread, so bullets don't go where the reticule is (downgrade from BFV)

    - Graphics are poor compared to previous Battlefield games

    - 3rd person knifing animations so people can show off their microtransactions

    - Only 2 guns for every gun type, so DICE can milk you for money by putting more in the season pass

    - UI is atrocious. Player icon is hard to see in the map. 'ON' and 'OFF' buttons are confusing.

    - Time to kill is much higher.

    - People can equip extra armor now, so TTK will be even higher

    - There are no icons for requesting medic/ammo/support so squad play is worse.

    - Lack of destruction compared to previous Battlefield games.

    - Textures often times don't load so you get PS1 quality textures.

    - Sound quality is subpar compared to Battlefield 1.

    - Footsteps sounds are unreliable.

    Never before have I been so irritated by a game. First of all, you're paying nearly the same price on the last-gen system for HALF THE EXPERIENCE that the PC/next-gen systems are getting. By this I mean 64 player count vs 128 players. The playable area on the maps are cut in half as well.

    Next, lets look at performance. BUGS GALORE!
    I've played for a couple of hours and seen tons of graphical tears, collision issues, players stuck in solid walls, characters sliding across the map (run animation not working properly), and texture loading issues.

    Overall gameplay is horrid. I attempted to toss a basic frag grenade off a building and it stuck to the edge right in front of me. It didn't bounce off like the previous entries would. HOWEVER, when it exploded in my face, my character's body was thrown across the map, bouncing off anything it collided with. No logic there.

    As of release day (November 19, 2021), the time to kill is way too high. The hit detection is all over the place. Vehicles slide around like they are on ice. Camera shake, even when turned down as low as possible, (can't turn it completely off) can be nauseating to anyone that suffers from motion sickness. Graphically, it's bland. Textures are not great and the overall look is way too contrasty.

    The couple of modes available are not exciting. I would call Hazard Zone a mix of R6: Siege and Ghost Recon: Wildlands' Ghost War mode with six 4-player squads that just devolves into a deathmatch mode, completely ignoring the objectives.

    I would say I'm going back to Battlefield 1 or 5, but I just can't support EA anymore. They are refusing to issue a refund, as is Sony, so I recommend you save yourself the trouble and $60...get something else.    … Expand

    I'm not the biggest FPS fan, but this game really disappointed me. The graphics and animations are awful. The maps are big and lifeless. Big bland surfaces. The player animations are just horrible. Guns feel crap. I can't believe this is a triple AAA title.

    Bugs are the least of it. Shot spread or bloom or whatever you call it is broke. Many things have been stripped out of the game that were in past titles. Destruction is basic and not what it should be.the game is. A mess

I mean there's about 12 but you have to play the game for days to make any meaningful progression. So you are stuck with the base M5 for hours and hours with no alternative. Graphically on ps4, it looks like cyberpunk 2077, a blurry hazey mess, even with motion blur and all the camera tricks turned off. Online performance is good, meaning when you get into a server it is not laggy like bf4 was at launch. The nail in the coffin GAME MODES ARE GONE. There are 3 conquest-based game modes now. To play what everyone who's ever played a battlefield game remembers as battlefield you have to use a gimmicky weird app/ menu on the screen called "Portal". Where you can find player created games which somewhat bring back the formula that worked. Menu upon menus upon menus, disgusting UI, easily the worst UI of any app or video game I have ever played. Gone is the simple customization and now you are met with FORTNITE/ apex style of aesthetic character modification. Want to change the attachment on your guns ? oh you have to do that during the match at the very start or else you will get fragged, your loadouts also RESET every game you play.

    Congratulations dice, your greed ruined your brain child. You had a good thing going, even after BF V I had faith you could return your roots (BFBC1-2, BF3-4) but you had to rush this garbage to market. This is nowhere near the level of polish that a 80 dollar AAA title should have. It seems like there were too many cooks in the kitchen with this one and whoever was in charge of UI needs to be jailed. Bring back classes, bring back classic game modes without the "portal" and allow players to make their own game modes without using a PC. This whole game is a mess, please don't buy this. I bought it on sale for 60 bucks tax in and I feel like I have better off burning my money than contributing the the cancer that is EA Dice.    … Expand

    Что самое обидное, я полагаю DICE и Electronic Arts намереваются доить эту безрогую козу десятилетие, как Bethesda свой Fallout 76!
    Обидно за серию. Если кто хочет новый и настоящий Battlefield, эту хрень не качайте и вообще не поддерживайте. Иначе ждать нам Battlefield 6 не дождаться!

    Battlefield 2042 adds little in the new department and takes away a lot from the old. Without leaning onto the presupposed Portal community, having in mind the lack of an actual campaign and overall lack of technical stability, you have very little reason to be interested in Battlefield 2042

    If you’re looking to enjoy the next Battlefield title, turn back now. With the next patch not slated to arrive for another month, and the next content update to release some time after that, it’s going to be a while before 2042 can earn the right to be called a true Battlefield game. It’s best to wait until the smoke clears and DICE fixes any major bugs (maybe even wait for it to go on discount) before spending $70 on this game.
