    Battlefield 1 is a great game, but the people giving it 10's are crazy or haven't played the game long enough. The single player is a solid 10. It's super fun, immersive and tells a great story... but it's pretty short. The graphics throughout the game are gorgeous, and everything is perfectly fluid.

    Once again EA delivers the fully gaming experience only to those who are willing to spend additional cash. To do so, they made leveling really tedious and the awards mediocre in comparison to the goodies in the battle packs. Latter are sometimes awarded when leveling and can be bought via the PS store. What a surprise... Spending most of the time being killed by overpowered gamers who tookOnce again EA delivers the fully gaming experience only to those who are willing to spend additional cash.     The prologue sets the tone of what it should have been. A gritty grueling hell-like representation of one of the worst wars that ever was. Where is Verdun? Where is the Somme? Where are the endless waves of human meat churning against stale-mate trench lines?
    WW1 is such an epic story. And the SP in BF1 is SO MUCH LOST POTENTIAL to re-tell it, and instead go with the cheap hollywood version in an attempt to please the 13 year olds playing this.    … Expand

    Amazing game. DICE managed to create an immersive massive multiplayer combat experience. The WW1 setting is interesting and unique. Game suffers from severe team balance issues.

I also regret the fact of not being able to do a +5 squad, it might not be everyone's problem, but I have a lot of friend playing it and separating in 2 squads is annoying.     Unlike many other people I'm not a fan of the solo mode even if it is decent. Yes some missions are surprisingly entertaining, but on the other hand there are a lot of identical missions (infiltration phases for example are very present in the game and it gets boring after a while).

    It's a good BF, occasional players will love it, but more serious gamers will get bored after a few dozen hours.    … Expand

    Die Kampagne ist nicht schlecht für einen Multiplayer Titel, jedoch niemals mit einem klassischen Single FPS zu vergleichen. Grafik ist top. Der Multiplayer Part ist für Anfänger unspielbar, leider. Wahrscheinlich weil gerade so viele Pros spielen.

    First of, the story is way to short. You follow a few people's stories throughout the front from France to the Ottoman empire but most of them don't have much or any character development and that means you can't grow attached to them and feel what they feel in that moment. It also doesn't have any story from the central powers (Germany, Austro-Hungary and the Ottomans) which means that they are portrayed as pure evil like you would portray the Nazi's in a WW2 game which is horribly wrong. It stands as a nice piece of tutorial for multiplayer though.

    The multiplayer is very fun with each map needing different tactics and weapons if you want your team to succeed and win. It has a few game modes with each being very different but some aren't as good as others. Operations is the best game mode with it feeling like an actual battle with progress but War Pigeons is kind of bland but can be chaotic fun. There are a variety of weapons for each class but it is definitely less than what you had on offer in BF3 and BF4. Tank and plane combat is really fun with each vehicle felling powerful and weak all the time. The destruction is brilliant in this game with small bits of wall falling of and even injuring people. However some maps favor certain weapons to much like Argonne forest favoring shotguns and Suez favoring snipers, which can lead to so much rage because you are always killed by the same things.    … Expand

You've still got the great graphics, but in terms of actual gameplay it too often feels like a just whole bunch of chaos. War, of course, is chaos... so in some sense I guess that works, but the gist of what you do in every multiplayer scenario is run around randomly until you get killed or see a hint of moment and start shooting. There's sniping and healing, etc... but for the most part you play for a short burst until you get clipped by a random bullet. It's really frustrating when you start taking damage and can't figure out where it's coming from which happens constantly, and if you run around a corner an another enemy appears, skill takes a back seat to luck... what weapon are you carrying and how twitchy is your finger.

    In Conquest mode, for example, you can choose to spawn on other teammates or certain spawn points, and before you have even turned around or walked two steps you are shot in the back of the head, and forced to respawn again. You might run out of a building and a bomb from a plane drops on your head... respawn again. Spawn in a tank, but the tank is at 10% health and you're suddenly dead again. And don't forget the enemies can spawn anywhere too... You might round a corner only to have someone spawn behind you. There's nothing you can do but take the death.

    You will never feel like you are in control of the game or that you can just play better to change the outcome. Nor do you ever feel like winning means anything. You'll continue to play to get more weapon upgrades, but at the end of the day whether you are at the top or bottom of the scoreboard means nothing. Your team feels soooo impersonal.

    Basically multiplayer feels very "casual".... It's really cool to chill and play like you're in a real war, but the randomness feels unrewarding and wins feel unrewarding.

    Don't get me wrong... Battlefield 1 is a solid 7 great game. But it is far from a 10... It's a war simulator with very realistic graphics and effects. It's multiplayer is fun to play, but begins to get boring due to your lack of control of outcomes and generally unrewarding feeling you have after each match.    … Expand

    If you love multiplayer, this review is not for you. I play these games for the single player campaign. This one was short and divided into several small stories. The stories are told very well and the game also feels very good to play, minus the stiff running which feels like sliding. Also the time to die under fire can sometimes be a little short, requiring you to only play the game a certain way instead of fighting however you want. This is more realistic but less enjoyable for me personally. I enjoyed the cutscenes more than the shooting sometimes, and for a fps game, that's not ideal. I would give it a 6 but some of the stories are epic and memorable, even if I didn't feel connected to the characters as I was playing them. If you're like me and mostly play these for single player, you might want to get this game at a hefty discount.… Expand

    El "2" mejor Battlefield, que se come a cualquier Call of Duty de estos ultimos 10 años.
    Pero no todo es bueno, y recordemos un titulo de EA sacaran hasta el ultimo beneficio de esto, y es un modelo de negocio inaceptable, un juego recordato, es decir un juego basado en la 1 guerra mundial y no te dejan jugar con el ejercito frances o ruso? :(
    Inaceptable, un "premium pass" por $49.99. No recomiendo la compra de este premium pass, no apoyemos este modelo de negocio.
    El juego me lo consegui por $40 , no recomiendo pagar mas por este titulo.

    The sound and graphics are excellent, but gameplay can be frustrating - too much emphasis on dumbed- down close quarters combat where things quickly get chaotic. it lacks the subtlety and intelligence of bf4 opting instead for a high sheen/high impact but shallower feel. The new operations mode can be dramatic and immersive and is probably the best new addition. The battlepacks now seem pretty pointless (who really cares about skins?). TDM and the new mode Warpidgeons are really lacklustre, feeling like tacked on afterthoughts - the maps are particularly bad on these modes. Let's see what DIce brings with the dlc, maybe the game can get up to an 8 or 9 with better maps, more modes, more weapons and better balance between classes...all in all a big disappointment (as bf4 was so good - why get rid of the bits that worked???) - however, still worth buying and at least they didn't go into space...    … Expand

    Good but short campaign mode.

    Multiplayer is unfortunately completely random and is in need of some serious balancing. Camping is too easily rewarded here, AA guns take down planes from across the map, tanks are taken out way to easy by infantry. The dreadnaught is also way to easy to kill with boats and cannons from offshore. Please fix multiplayer!

    Battlefield 1 reinvigorated my interest in multiplayer games; a true Battlefield that wages 64 players in a all out war of the first World War in stunning visuals, sounds and gameplay that is truly spectacular. Bayonet charging with chaotic screaming, blowing down towers and houses with explosions and more make the experience feel very convincing and my jaw was down when I played a match.Battlefield 1 reinvigorated my interest in multiplayer games; a true Battlefield that wages 64 players in a all out war of the first World War in stunning visuals, sounds and gameplay that is truly spectacular. Bayonet charging with chaotic screaming, blowing down towers and houses with explosions and more make the experience feel very convincing and my jaw was down when I played a match. Conquest and Rush is apart of the BF staple for fans, with also Domination and Team Deathmatch as a reach for Call of Duty fans and other shooters but not as creative. Even its War Pigeons is lackluster, but what sells it is Operations; a hour long pseudo-meta game that sets up attackers and defenders and wages control over points with only three attack attempts. It is the coolest idea and deserves alot of praise for this.

    With all this praise there are some issues needing to be addressed of why it stays to a 7/10. Microtransactions, loot boxes and season passes loom over this game much like the previous and have an effect that hurts this grand scale of war play entirely. The campaign is mediocre that feels more like a glorified tutorial than an actual campaign. There are also some issues with network connections and servers as well. In the end however Battlefield 1 delivers a exhilarating experience of war that deserves your time, just be cautious with your money.    … Expand

The reason why I give a 7 is because this game has serious problems between menus, specially during battle. at this day (mar/17/17) EA released an UPDATE, giving new maps, etc, but you know what? SOME GLITCHES they have solved, ARE F*****G BACK! The cursor on menu during a match isOK, first of all, this game has great mechanics like previous releases which I particularly find it great. You can't enjoy a game with errors like that, you are blind or tolerant enough to ignore those thing, but I don't because I paid 60 dollars for having a complete game without errors, glitches and flaws.
    I have this game 3 weeks after release by recommended friends, and none of F***ERS told about the flaws. I cursed those Mofos.
    I hope you find this review to consider before you buy.
    And I want EA solve this game ASAP instead trying to make easy money from hardcore/casual gamers, I'm sick of this thing of half games fully priced...    … Expand

    En grandisimo juego, una calidad gráfica nunca antes vista y unos mapas muy bien hechos. El fallo que le veo, es que apenas hay jugadores en los servidores debido a la gran opción de búsqueda de servidores. Deberían simplificarla a fanático y normal El modo fanático es impresionante

    I have not played battlefield in a long time so i decided to put down this game as one of the games i wanted to get and i eventually got it and to be honest it left a lot to be desired and it wasn't the game i was expecting it to be. Here are my likes and dislikes about the game:

    Likes: -You can run over ANYTHING with the tanks which is very satisfying -The sound effects are great. If    I have not played battlefield in a long time so i decided to put down this game as one of the games i wanted to get and i eventually got it and to be honest it left a lot to be desired and it wasn't the game i was expecting it to be. Here are my likes and dislikes about the game:

    Likes:
    -You can run over ANYTHING with the tanks which is very satisfying
    -The sound effects are great. If you fired in a enclosed space your rifle will be louder whereas if you were to shoot in an open field you can hear the sound spread across the lands.
    -The cut scene visuals are some of the best i have ever seen.
    -Friends in high places is my favorite story as you get to battle in the air.

    Dislikes:
    -There are a multitude of war stories to play and different characters for each war story. Since this is the case you don't get attached to the characters or the story at all. This was something new to me as i have never played so many characters in a game. I tried to get attached to them and the story, but i just couldn't. Eventually it got to the point where i just wanted to be done with the game because i didn't want to play the game anymore than i needed to. I think there should've been one main story.
    -When the history of the war is displayed they don't give you enough time to read it. So if you are a slow reader you are going to have to read faster.
    -not being able to pause during most cut scenes was kind of annoying, but it wasn't a huge turn off by any means.

    With all this being said the lack of bonding between characters and the short story is why i gave this game a 7/10.    … Expand

    Great gameplay, beautiful graphics and a real feeling of immersion in the Austro-Hungarian vs Russian and Italian maps. Unfortunately forced diversity ruined immersion on just about every other map.

    El modo offline, o sus historias de guerra fue algo que sorpredio mucho, te narraban la guerra desde diferentes perspectivas, muy interactivo, lo malo que fueron demasiado cortas, pero muy bien desarrolladas, primera guerra mundial, un juego muy bien hecho.

    Graficamente asombroso para consola, pero su apuesta mas grande no fue el modo offline, sino el multiplayer, y lastimosamente, poco contenido si compraste la version standard, pocos mapas, pocas armas, lo mas destacable fue su modo multijugador operaciones, que podian jugar hasta 64 players en un mismo mapa, asombroso, pero todos queriamos ver a francia o al ejercito frances, a los rusos, mas armas, mas mapas, y en efecto EA lo tenia pero tenias que pagar mas por el.
    Decepcionante como las politicas tan abusivas pueden arruinar un titulo que superaba en todo aspecto a los ultimos 5 COD incluyendo los black ops, pero en fin, EA nunca aprende.
    Me compre el premium pass junto a un amigo por $15 en total, y el juego lo compre no de salida a unos meses de lanzamiento por $40.
    Actualmente si lo compras por $20 en su version complete, y para PC vale la pena.

EA has said enough of this modern war, and you guys didn’t buy enough copies when we did future war so let’s do a war that is hardly ever covered in the media World War 1. If you’re like me a love history knowing the historical facts about how truly brutal and terrifying trench warfare is would make you super excited before this game came out. Sadly you can’t really make sitting in a trench for weeks into a game, but what they did came out fantastic.

    The game actually has a story, unlike typical FPS stories where you follow one character who somehow is at every important battle in history you follow five different characters all from different countries, all different styles of gameplay. You follow the British tank crew, an American pilot, an Italian soldier who plays like a walking tank, a Australian sharpshooter, and a Syrian I believe that is hanging with Lawrence of Arabia. This stories are great little snippits of the war and all play out as if you were watching a short film with these characters. The story isn’t super long, but because the stories are all so different in gameplay it acts as a tutorial to the multiplayer.

    That what everyone gets Battlefield for the the multiplayer and I must say holy **** is that fun. I personally love this multiplayer because it really captures the hecticness of war. There are times you are in firefight were bullets and explosions are happening all around you, and then out of the blue some crazy **** on a horse comes charging at you, and you forgot to reload… This gameplay seems authentic enough to how battles were fought except the zero trench warfare. This is just me, but I do with there was either a story mission or a beginning of a multiplayer segment where you must jump out of the trenches and full on charge at the enemy encampment. Load in your pants dropping fun. The game only had a couple of hiccups in the multiplayer, and the vehicles never to seem to be overpowering, but if utilized correctly can be very dangerous. I personally had a great tank crew for over half a match we were the scourge of the battlefield. Until the enemy team had us outnumbered two to one in fire power, but it still was just the greatest experience having that badass tank crew that can mop the floor with the enemy team. The game looks beautiful, with the guns seeming authentic honestly with the decade of WW2 shooters I only know that era of guns, and not so much The Great War era of weaponry.

    Overall if you’re looking for a fantastic large scale multiplayer look no further than Battlefield 1. If though you’re a more single player focused gamer I’d honestly say skip even if you’re into historical games or were excited by the trailers. The singleplayer is so short that it acts more like a tutorial than an actual single player experience. I personally hope World War 1 turns into the new thing FPS shooters milk because I’d love to see what they can do with that era. Until next time folks.    … Expand

Its not COD, of course, but its different to other battlefields. Dissapointing for me, as a long time battlefield player, but you cant denny the game quality. 7/10… Expand

    This is a very beautiful but mediocre game. The story mode is very short, the menus are very confusing and the multi-player mode is fun only for a short time. There is a big problem with team-balancing and there is no strategy, just a lot of players who rush to the enemies, only to get killed by a higher level sniper from miles away.

    Good good and good. Stunning visuals are the backdrop of solid gameplay in Multiplayer. The campaign portion of the game feels disjointed and uninteresting, but damn is that multiplayer good.

    This was my first multiplayer game. At first, I didn't know subscription was needed to play online, and turns out I was using the 2-day free trial. The game is dead with many dead lobbies. Customization was lacking but understandable as, during WWI, there wasn't much of a choice. The campaign was very fun and I 100% completed the campaign.

    Looks nice. Plays okay. Multiplayer got boring really quick. Played mostly conquest and TDM, but I'm just not into it. Too many "what the hell just happened" deaths, players spawning all over the place, mediocre classes/builds, and not a fan or the vehicle mechanics. The in-game map needs work too.

I am disappointed after having played all War Stories. It started out super impressive and promising with a sombre and serious tone, moving quotes and a grim prologue. I was really hoping for more stuff along those lines. The flying mission was grand and bombastic, very Hollywood. The Runner mission is very typical of a veteran taking a liking to a private soldier, assaulting a fort on his own. Very predictable. The Italian Iron Man is just completely ridiculous. The Arabian mission is just Deus Ex in WW1. Most of these missions have a one man vs whole world feel to them, with superhuman stealth sections, and overpowered guns. I didn't even bother completing the last war story cos I was just so turned off by the non-immersion of the campaign. I just finished watching Band of Brothers and The Pacific, and World War themes always focus around brotherhood and carmaraderie, with human atrocity lessons and philosophical ideas. This is just action, over the top heroism and unauthentic take on war. Games like Wolfenstein, destiny, titanfall, etcaynget away with this cos it fits their respective themes but WW1?? Come on, I expected much much more. What I got was just annoyance and irritance at a missed opportunity to deliver a poignant WW1 experience.

    Graphics though, are AMAZING!!

    I didnt play much multiplayer, except for deathmatch and capture the flag. Kinda fun but my MP time is completely for Destiny. I am definitely missing out on the complete Battlefield experience but i really bought this game for a WW1 single player experience, and it failed to deliver that to me.

    The gameplay for this game is really good, however the campaign is broken up into six different small campaign stories. They have a good story to them and it is entertaining. For multiplayer, it seems really unrealistic at times in the fact that u can hit someone in the head three times and they shoot u once and u die, as of now there r limited amount of game modes and maps

    Llevaba tiempo sin coger un Battlefield (desde el 4 cuando salió si mal no recuerdo) y he decidido optar por este Battlefield 1 para retomar la saga. Destacar de nuevo que solo me interesa el modo campaña y es lo único que he jugado. Bien, la campaña es bastante corta, en torno a unas 5-6h de duración como máximo; las propias historias son muy bochornosas    [RESEÑA DEL MODO CAMPAÑA]

    Llevaba tiempo sin coger un Battlefield (desde el 4 cuando salió si mal no recuerdo) y he decidido optar por este Battlefield 1 para retomar la saga. Destacar de nuevo que solo me interesa el modo campaña y es lo único que he jugado.

    Bien, la campaña es bastante corta, en torno a unas 5-6h de duración como máximo; las propias historias son muy bochornosas pudiendo salvar una o dos (el aviador y... ¿ya?) y en las misiones a pie puedes rushear el contenido de ellas en apenas 5 minutos y sin tener que enfrentarte a algún tiroteo: simplemente puedes huir.

    El problema de la campaña es que DICE se ha enfocado en intentar dar una lección de: ¡Oh no! ¡Mira que mala es la guerra! ¡Mira cuanta gente luchó en ella, que pocos quedaron y que grandes hombres y leyendas se forjaron por su crueldad!. Todo esto mientras estás disfrutando como un niño pequeño con su juguete nuevo de matar a diestro y siniestro a gente que según se mire eran inocentes y estaban ahí obligados. Battlefield 1 tiene una campaña muy divertida, poco memorable (salvo la misión de Londres que es espectacular), pero divertida al fin y al cabo.

    Cuando choca de manera tan brusca la diversión que me estás ofreciendo con el matar gente con la que luego intentas darme pena algo falla y mucho. No puedes ponerme un mensajito dándome un estremecedor dato histórico de que cientos de miles de soldados murieron en una batalla tras haberme dado un tanque, decenas de armas, explosivos y herramientas para poder ser el John Rambo de 1918 y disfrutar cada segundo que una bala salía por el cañón de mi rifle.

    Es un entretenimiento desenfadado, rápido y efímero. Dura tan poco cada historia que no empatizas de modo alguno con los personajes que te presentan. En serio, no te acuerdas ni del nombre a los 2 minutos exactos de que te lo digan. Tú vas ahí a matar y a pasártelo bien y el soldado de épica historia es soio la herramienta para conectarte con esa diversión.

    ¿Lo recomiendo? Psé, tampoco te pierdes absoultamente nada y me parecen mejor pensadas campañas de otros Battlefield (la de Bad Company 2 le da mil vueltas). Obviamente el punto fuerte de la saga es el online, pero como he recalcado en varias ocasiones, no lo he jugado, aunque tengo entendido que es bueno.

There's also an interesting story about a pilot who gets stranded in the trenches. However, apart from these 3, the other missions are forgetable and run of the mill. I constantly wonder how good a single player could have been if they would have focused on just one of these stories.

    Multiplayer: This is where the game falls flat for me. I'm so done with these chickens running around with no heads' FPS multiplayer games. It seems one moment you are having fun, and the next you are getting obliterated by players who somehow have pixel accurate aiming. The rewards for playing are laughable as progression goes through coins... yeah.

    The menu's are actually poorly designed. It looks lazy and chaotic, making it a choir to find the page where you can customize your character.

    It is definitely a step up from Battlefront, but i don't get the praise for this game. It probably gained much praise because people just didn't like Infinite Warfare and this was a new setting.

    It is a pity that with this part they have abandoned a central storyline. Individual stories are fun but ensure that you cannot bind with any character. In addition, there is no long-term goal. The big plus of this game is the level in the air. I have often played this after completing the campaign. Visually and in terms of sound it was amazing.

En juego corre entre 40 a 60 fps en mi PS4 fat y en el multijugador en momentos donde hay mucha gente en un mismo lugar caen los fps a 20 y hasta se traba el sonido. 9/10

El Matchmaking desde el día 1 está roto, no funciona, siempre te manda a partidas con mucho ping o vacías por lo que hay que buscar servidores manualmente para encontrar una partida. Yo que ya soy experimentado ya me acostumbre pero para el jugador nuevo que se lo compro en oferta va a ser súper molesto ocasionando que menos gente juegue 7/10

    Premium pass: Actualmente ya se incluye en la versión Revolution, lamentablemente es algo fundamental que te vendan 2 veces el juego para que EA haga un juego muy bueno con buen contenido. Incluye 4 DLCs extra con 18 mapas nuevos, armas nuevas y un montón de Battlepacks.

    Después del lanzamiento de Battlefield 5, esta entrega fue abandonada completamente, sin eventos, misiones, contenido nuevo, ni siquiera con entregas nuevas de Battlepacks. I actually didn't enjoy the multiplayer as much as i had hoped, as i don't find the gunplay as satisfying as other more modern shooters but that's probably because i am more used to the gunplay of BF3, 4 and 2042 for example. The theme and tone of the game reallyI think battlefield 1 is an okay game. Graphics are top notch the single player stuff is decent as well as the multiplayer.     I only played the campaign portion of the game so I can’t say anything about the multiplayer. The campaign felt very short to me and wasn’t really worth diving into for such a short experience with a be ehhh intriguing setting that is World War 1. Felt like there was huge missed opportunities with the campaign as they could’ve dove more into detail and missions with the setting.

    Weapons are inaccurate and basic. You can call this realism, I call this an unfun game.
    Frames per second constantly drop to about 25 or less
    Menus lag like crazy in between rounds.
    Visuals are sub par for 2016 battlefield. Literally any BF game in the last 10 years looks better.
    Charging $20 for a couple of icons and skins that shouldve come with the base game.
    EA strikes again.

    Still reasonably solid, but not particularly fun or revolutionary. Snipers and Tanks will usually rule the roost, but if you can't overcome it, you are probably not good enough.

    I am giving this game a 5/10. The multiplayer is excellent casual fun, but single player is awful which I guess is to be expected of EA. I can't believe DICE did not learn anything from Battlefield 4 single player. The AI is terrible! So many times a AI airplane crashed into me killing me instantly, enemies spawning in front of me and enemies that just stand there. Maybe they should justI am giving this game a 5/10. In truth, despite a high level of polish and some originality, Battlefield 1 is still a more refined Call of Duty of sort.

    Multiplayer is the core of this game and there is some welcomed variety in gameplay. Modes go from the epic, (the new multi-map Operations), to the annoyingly similar to Call of Duty (Team Deathmatch). I will not talk about War Pigeons.

    Multiplayer's problem is that you'll still have to try to survive among the same confusing and erratic cat herd. There is no (possible) coordination among teams or squads (unless you play with friends, which is fun). You will get shot at from across the map. Tank drivers will drive with no consideration of you being in there. Pilots will crash the plane in the first 60 seconds about 50% of the time. You will learn to never count on medics reviving you. All the while, the immortal words of Dwight Schrute will echo in your head "We are no more a team than the people staying at a hotel are a team". Oh and that invisible grey blob hiding among grey rubble will shoot you right in the head.

    Even the somewhat interesting but too short to be engaging mini-campaigns bear little ressemblance to how WW1 was actually fought. Unless you enjoy this kind of multiplayer experience (which it definitely succeeds at but does not transcend), I suggest you pass on this game -- even at a lower price than launch.    … Expand

God knows I've sunk countless hours into conquest mode, rushing into objectives, instantly getting sniped and watching haplessly as a medic runs by without theI understand that you, as someone looking at a Battlefield 1 review in 2021, a whole 5 years after this game came out, probably see this game in a positive light. Maybe, like myself, you've played this game from quite some time. God knows I've sunk countless hours into conquest mode, rushing into objectives, instantly getting sniped and watching haplessly as a medic runs by without the thought of reviving even entering their head, but that's not what I'm here to talk about. I'm here to talk about the game in its entirety, and why, holistically, it is genuinely boring experience that grows stale in record time.
    First, let's tackle the god-awful story mode. Or should I say modes. There are five different campaigns, all of which range from mediocre to gimmick-y at best, with the only exception being the intro to the game, which is not its own story but a few minute long total into to the game and atmosphere. After that you can choose from "Through the mud and blood", a hand-fisted story of brotherhood that plays decently but comes off as a diet, WWI version of Band of Brothers, "Friends in High Places," the shoe-horned in dogfighting story with very minimal story, meant exclusively as a drawn out tutorial on how to fly in a Battlefield game, something anyone who has played a game with flying in it can master in minutes, "Avanti Savoia!", the forced emotional storyline about an Italian soldier looking for his twin brother, "The Runner," the usual odd couple story about two Australian snipers, and finally "Nothing is Written", the worst story and the one that shatters the suspension of disbelief the most. My grief with Nothing has nothing to do with Zara, the female soldier you play as, but with the forced inclusion of Lawrence of Arabia and the **** train that plagues this entire story, as well as the lack of recognition you, as the central character, are given for the work you do in Nothing. You almost singlehandedly bring down the armored train, and are hailed as Lawrence's sidekick throughout, despite him doing almost nothing through the entire story. The overall atmosphere of the game is fun, and the map design and look is breath-taking, but with such awful writing and some of the blandest characters I've ever seen, it is hard to play through all five campaigns in this game.
    Moving on to multiplayer. There isn't really all that much to say here that I haven't already said above. The map design is beautiful, from the mountain tops to the desert valleys, and you are forgiven for thinking that this would lead to dynamic and fun game play. Because it does not. To start every match, you spawn in to find that every single vehicle on your side has already been filled to the rafters with people, ranging from guys in tanks rushing the furthest objective and instantly getting destroyed, **** in airplanes flying figure eights around the map until they inevitable kamikaze, to even your teammates going for a leisurely spin around war-torn France, completely ducking all objectives. You can run at objectives and get sniped from some ex-pro Call Of Duty player 400 meters out, or hop into one of the few motorcycles around and get instantly decimated by a tank. When it comes to tanks, there's about two things that can stop them: someone with dynamite, or a slightly better tank. The sandbox they give you is amazing, but they weapons in it are mediocre and repetitive. I hope you enjoy extremely long distance sniping, semi-auto rifles or close-quarters shotguns and SMGs, because that is all this game has to offer you. The weapons are all too similar, and without buy the individual DLCs or the season pass, the classes are fairly indifferent besides the equipment you have. Nobody likes pay walling a game, especially when it blocks something that could potentially shift the tides of an overall boring experience that offers some shining moments, that are generally outshined by everything else being dull and forgettable.

    TL;DR: A boring game with a poor story and even worse character development with a predictable and mediocre multiplayer, only really remembered for being the first mainstream WWI game.    … Expand

    This game looks amazing graphically, the weapons are pretty nice and the story mode isn't the best it has its good moments although it's short.The multiplayer should be enjoyable except it is not due to the fact that players can spend real life money to buy better weapons so the game is unbalanced.

    Got interested due to the aviation, wich kind of sucked.
    Got bored with the story quickly, while it could have offered an intersting angle it was way too short to be called a story. Do not call the tutorial a story!

    Pitty, the gameplay and graphix could have offered so much more.

BUT I can not fathom my head around the fact that you develop a WW1 videogame and you CAN NOT play a german campaign. No only the british, french and americans are once again the sole focus of a WW set videogame.     Despite a very short campaign, Battlefield 1 still offers the best single-player experience in the series. Mix it with a huge, brilliant multi-player that the series is known for and you have an almost complete package. Definitely the best approach to World War 1 yet.
