Omega Force has created something really special here. Between the presentation that perfectly captures the soul of the Attack on Titan anime and the action that immerses players into every scene, this is a definite home run.

Attack on Titan is an excellent game and the best one published by Koei Tecmo. Its gameplay mechanics are perfect, as well as its design. This game is a must-buy for the fans of the manga/anime.

Omega Force have packed a solid title: the game that all fans of Attack on Titan deserved. Despite a tricky control scheme, the game exhibits very solid and fun gameplay.

Punctuated by an impressive original score, Attack on Titan has just about everything one could ask for from a video game adaptation of the series. A few blemishes hold the game back from being something truly special, but Omega Force and Koei Tecmo are certainly on the right track.

Attack on Titan is a great game, especially for fans of the anime. The game offers fluid, fast-paced gameplay mixed with a great story. It contains enough depth and fans will not be disappointed.

A.O.T Wings of Freedom is a good game with some nice combat and cut-scenes that should make any fan of the anime quite happy about its investment. If only it could have had better designed environments, with a bit more destruction maybe.

This game walks away from Omega Force's usual musou games, with an intense action game. Its visuals are on par with the anime, something that will appeal fans of Attack on Titan.

With Attack on Titan, Omega Force has managed to craft a wonderfully exhilarating game full of action and suspense that closely follows the source material. It's leaps and bounds above their Dynasty Warriors franchise.

Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom is a game that will delight the manganime fan. The ODM control is perfect, graphically is correct and the atmosphere is great. But, the gameplay is very repetitive and maybe the non-fan player fall into boredom soon.

Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom is a videogame that the original opera lovers can not pass up. The repetitiveness of the missions and the various technical problems affect only partly an experience as much fun as spectacular, full of mechanics that make it perfectly the idea of what it means to fight against the Titans.

Attack on Titan is a great introduction for the anime franchise into the world of console gaming, and while it's not perfect, it's a game that can be enjoyed even by those who haven't watched a second of the show.

'Attack on Titan' focuses on a single idea and nails it absolutely perfectly. The game runs the risk of feeling repetitive at times, but it smartly mitigates that by injecting enough variety into each mission and playable character.

Attack on Titan is an impressive feat, nailing the movement of the anime and that satisfying feeling that you get when taking down a titan is captured almost perfectly. There's a few minor flaws here, but for fans of the series, you're hardly going to notice.

Overall, I really enjoyed playing Attack on Titan. Being able to traverse the environment and fluidly take out giants felt great. While there are some glitches and it could get repetitive for some, I can still happily recommend this to any curiously minded gamer and doubly so if you are an Attack on Titan fan.

Given that this is the first attempt at a very different kind of game for Koei Tecmo, I’d say that Attack on Titan franchise is in good hands going forward.

Although there are many interesting non-combat portions of the series that do not appear in Attack on Titan, the game proves itself to be a titan in the anime tie-in genre of video games.

Finally a good game that does justice to all the lore of Attack of Titan. This Koei Tecmo game is a fast-paced action game that really transmits the essence of the series and does it with a wonderful and attractive presentation. However, and although it looks good, it has some technical problems in its controls that from one time to another difficult the actions the player does. Also, it lacks really interesting game modes that could convince the players to return to it after finishing the main campaign. If you are a fan of the series then you should play this game.

Attack On Titan is definitely the most interesting Omega Force developed hack and slash game, thanks to the unique movement system and combat mechanics which require more than simple button mashing. Sadly, this doesn't prevent the game from becoming repetitive due to uninspired maps and lack of mission variety. The game offers plenty of fun anyway, just don't expect a masterpiece that can still feel fresh after 20 or more hours.

Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom deserves a lot of praise for accurately capturing the feel of the anime and translating it to video game form. Unfortunately, once you get past the accurate representation, there isn't much to the game.

A smart adaptation that replicates the action of the series without resorting to a typical hack n’ slash knockoff. The cluttered camera and controls take some adjusting, but otherwise this is the first real attempt at successfully adapting the colossal anime hit in videogame form and is another proud notch on Omega Forces’ belt (it also increases the anticipation for Berserk, their next anime offering later this year).

Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom knows exactly what it is. It has perfected the most important elements, seemingly at the cost of other systems. The story closely follows the anime series and adds a little extra, so if you’re a fan you’ll be happy with the accurate retelling. If you’ve never watched the series, this could be a good way to dive into the franchise.

The PS4 version of Attack on Titan is true to the original anime. The three dimensional maneuver gear feels amazing and it is a real blast to fly around the maps and slay titans with our swords. Sadly, the game is quite repetitive and lacks real challenges in order to be a must-have for the platform.
  46. Aug 26, 2016

A.O.T.: Wings of Freedom raises the bar for the musou genre developed by Omega Force and Koei Tecmo. The game is interesting, albeit with some flaws, and has a unique identity that can be appreciated even if you're not a fan of the anime.

This is hands down the best Attack on Titan game you’ll find anywhere, though that in itself doesn’t make it a must-have. Whether or not it clicks depends entirely on whether you can get to grips with the finicky combat, and how easily you deal with doing the same thing over and over.

It has a genuinely cool premise, and the core mechanic of reeling into titans at absurd speeds with the intent of doing hideous amounts of damage is a good one. There’s just very little else to it, so while it’s initially exciting and gives a unique feeling of freedom to murder adversaries, longer sessions allow tedium to set in.

In short bursts, Attack on Titan can be a fun distraction. It definitely looks and feels like the animated series, runs through its narrative nicely, and features lots of stuff to unlock, upgrade, and play through. Sadly, almost every mission feels just like the last one, and with very little to shake up the process...Such is the curse of an Attack on Titan game. Unless someone gets really creative, attempting to emulate the way that world works is looking set to produce some enjoyable games undermined by the fact that cutting a giant man behind the neck really isn’t thrilling enough to sustain hours of gameplay.

Attack on Titan is an enjoyable experience that is worth a playthrough, but it could’ve been so much more. It surprises with solid combat mechanics and features some exciting and action-packed gameplay moments, but its presentation, story, characters and content outside of the campaign are severely lacking.

A.O.E. Wings of Freedom is a game exclusively made for fans. However, the gameplay is too weak to lift the fortunes of the product. Good enough for fans: the others would not have reason to postpone the production limits.

Initially, fans will eat this one up – the story and visual presentation acting as delectable dressing – but even the best of meals lose their allure over time if that's all there is to swallow.

Attack on Titan may be systematically simple and has some visual issues, but I still had fun playing within its world. Well-trod musou layout aside, battling titans and swinging through the skies with futuristic military gear can be an enjoyable experience--if you can look past its glaring flaws.

Capable movement mechanics can't save this game from its endless grind, and lack of variety. Wings of Freedom has its had its feathers clipped, and never manages to get off the ground.

Some important story details are passed quickly but only to get you into the action. Each character even tho they have generally the same abilities definitely feel different. When you switch from the badass mikasa to the mindful armin going about battles the same way will not work out for you. Game looks great, and plays great. Underlining upgrade system if easy to understand and fun to play with as you get better gear your character model will reflect that. Get to elaborate on some story points the anime glosses over as well so its a give and take and keeps the story in the action. Action is repetitive but if you go as hard and as fast as you can its always entertaining. Navigation has a little bit of a learning curve and still feels a little clunky after you master it, but compare your first few hours and later in the game will feel like you are a god on ODM gear. I was also happy to see its not the same for the titans. Yes you will see models repeated but if you are fighting a group they are not all going to look or act the same. I think there are ~200 different titans? Full Review »

It's not one of those titles that should be played by people who don't already love the source material. It can be repetitive once you get it down, but most games are. Maybe for sixty dollars you wont find it worth it, but a lot of the time a rating ends up being based on how much you paid for it to begin with. Wait for the price to go down and you'll see this game in a better light than if you got it now. The movement is fluid and responsive, the art style is amazing, and zipping around cutting up titans is satisfying. Sure there may not be to much to this game, but support this one enough, and maybe we'll get a sequel with things that happen after the anime, like human enemies and the like. Who knows? For now I feel perfectly fine supporting this fully. Full Review »
