It's very much an assassin's creed game, more than Odyssey ever could have been. Hidden blade is back, hood is back, one shot assasinations are back. There's only four games from 2020 that i can say truly deserve to be nominated at "The Game Awards", these are : Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Doom Eternal, Half Life Alyx and Assassin's creed Valhalla. Tony Hawk 1+2 Remake was really nice, but come on, all in all it's not that revolutionary.

From graphical standpoint this game is absolute masterclass, they really hit the nail with both Norway and England. This game's soundtrack is one of the most beautiful and relaxing soundtracks i have heard in long time in any video game. Combat is good, cities look interesting enough. There's many places to climb and parkour on. Overall very good.

Ubisoft is (finally) making great strides. This game has everything you need.Beautiful story, breathtaking settings, excellent skill system, varied and not very repetitive side missions.
For bugs, yes there are, it is now normal that the first days after launch have some. For my part, I cannot say that there are too many and in any case not annoying
This game is worth it. Beautiful and Ubisoft is redeeming itself.

Absolutely no other gaming company makes these kinds of historical fiction games where you can climb on top of every building, etc. Haters don't care about historical locations at all. They most likely don't even know / care about history that much. They just wanna whine about every game Ubisoft makes, because they think it makes them look cool, but in reality it makes them look stupid, because Assassin's Creed has millions of fans all over the world and they clearly understand the appeal of these games. These are likely more level headed people, so no wonder they don't come to sites like metacritic, they don't even care about places like that. But this site attracts losers who just wanna hate and whine. I Found this news-site from 2017 that was about "fake reviews on AC Origins". Then why has nobody removed all these fake zeros?? Or maybe they don't care anymore, because last of us 2 gets 100s of fake positive and negative reviews every single day. I can say one thing, i will support Ubisoft till the day i die, they make good video games and it's very clear that they get hate because they are popular. If haters would get their way and all these other companies would go away then gaming would be dead because we would get 1 game in 5 years. Because that's all they want. They want only CDprojectred to exist and they hate absolutely everything else and i think i know why. Because they can pirate their games and of course losers will automatically support them. Expand

    Sound/Music 8/10
The music is beautiful, there's no denying that. However, the sound needs some polishing. Maybe it's just glitches here and there, but the sound acts weird, almost as if it comes from a tin can. Voice acting/dialogue 9/10
As a Dane, I absolutely love the fact that they've used Scandinavian actors to voice most of the Viking characters. A Viking with an American accent would've just been strange. The voice actings is great overall, althought a few of the voice actors sound like they're reading the script, rather than performing. The dialogue is a bit cringy at times, but overall it's great. Story 9/10
Not much to say on this. Although it doesn't stick to the "true Vikings" as it would've been way, way too dark, the story is very enjoyable. So why did I give the game overall a 10/10? Because I picked it up three days ago, and already have over 24 hours on it. And I'm not even halway through the story. It's the first AC game I thouroughly enjoy since Black Flag. Then there's this group of idiots who sht on all their games, while at the same time hyping up companies that release 2 games in ten fcking years. Ten years. It's not me hating on "CDprojectred", hell no, i like them very much. My point is that without Ubisoft, gaming landscape would be incredibly empty. Imagine world without Far Cry's Assassin's Creed's, Watch Dogs, Ghost Recon's, Division's, Rainbow Six and so many more. There has to be some company that makes AAA games while these other companies makes two games in 10 years. How is it so hard to understand? Without Ubisoft there would be basically nothing, but endless multiplayer games and "Marvel's Avenger's" type of trash. That's not the world i wanna live in. I wanna live in world full of tons of different games each year. Of course there's also this bunch on sonyfanboys (again not talking about people who own playstation, talking about fanboys, i own playstation as well) that act like only games worth playing are console exclusives, that let's be honest are usually story simulators full of endless cutscenes, these are more movies than games, i personally want actual games ya know (and yes there are also good ones like Bloodborne.)
Everyone acts like life lasts forever and it's cool to endlessly whine about some companies while waiting 10 years for a game from another company. All we have is 100 years (usually way less) and then it's over. Forever. So instead of constant whining, either enjoy the game or just don't play it, if you don't like it. It's that simple.

ItHaters who don't even own this game and fill this user score with their pathetic excuses why they hate this game and 0 scores can give up. Assassin's Creed fans won. This war is over and good side won. This game had bigger launch than any other Assassin's Creed game in history of Assassin's Creed. Valhalla got also nominated for "Best Action / Adventure Game" at "The Game Awards 2020". It doesn't even have to win, this nomination alone is important enough. It takes just few seconds to take a look at youtube and if we leave out some bitter youtubers who hate Ubisoft anyway, most people seem to enjoy this game very much. Would recommend this to Assassin's Creed fans who liked Black Flag or even Unity. It's extremely well made and possibly one of best open worlds in whole series. Don't let yourself be bothered of these 1 or 0 votes, 99% of these are fake accounts, possibly made by small group of haters who don't even own this game, it's very typical on metacritic.

Digging this game's tone way more than i did with Odyssey. Odyssey was little bit too similar in all places. Everything was bright and colorful. Valhalla is very different in that regard. It has so many different areas and layers, nothing feels same. Even Norway and England look very different, but England in itself has very different looking areas. Game is good so far.

Very fun game. I tried Odyssey before, but leveling took way too long and it just didn't click with me, but Valhalla is different and better. Leveling is actually fast, you get 2 skill points instead of 1 and you get them very often so you can build your power level rather quickly. Nothing stops you moving on with story anymore. For example Far Cry 5 has very low user score on metacritic based on 1700 reviews, while literally same game on steam has over 67 000 reviews and 76% of them are positive. That just shows that random bots can't make accounts on steam and write fake reviews, but on this site, they can and they always have. This 6.8 score in reality should be more like 7.6-8.1 but thanks to bots who give this game endless 0's, this score is lower. This usually only happens with extremely popular games and Assassin's Creed Valhalla indeed is extremely popular game. Another good comparison is RDR2 PC version score here and on steam, night and day difference and there's so many more like that.

There are far fewer cookie-cutter outposts than in previous AC’s, and most sidequests now offer an interesting story, sometimes even with a less-than-obvious solution. While some anti-grind measures have backfired, Ubisoft is on the right track. [Issue#250, page 56]

Assassins Creed Valhalla is a wonderful addition to the AC franchise. It manages to avoid the tropes that became overplayed and focuses on a small well structured story. The fighting mechanics are enjoyable and offer many choices to fit different playing styles. There are a significant amount of bugs and the AI is underwhelming at times. But it's still another step in the right direction for Ubisoft.
