ACIV was excellent and I had high hopes for Unity, I was severely disappointed. There are a lot of positive and awesome things this game does, yet a lot of faults exist too.

    Pros:
    1. So much to do (quests, murder mysteries, collect gear, etc)
    2. Good quality texture and lightning
    3. Decent companion throughout the game (Elise) and main character isn't heritable
    4. Character customization, lot of equipment to choose from
    5. Downward movement mechanic (Overrated though)
    6. Entering buildings all over the map through windows almost seamlessly
    7. Set piece assassinations, really great having to think and plan an assassination
    8. Huge map with excellent locations perfect for set piece assassinations

    Cons
    1. So much to do that none of the side quests offer anything significant. It's overwhelming and clutters your map. They don't tie into the story, don't offer anything other than a mission to do, which is fine, but all it did was trigger OCD for me.
    2. Whatever the textures and lighting were doing, be prepared to have it destroyed by awful framerate
    3. Glitches everywhere
    4. Terrible combat (Due to terrible controls), missing a lot of combat features from previous games that would have helped. Anyone with a gun in group combat is going to raise your blood pressure due to frustration with the dodge ability. Nothing new, missing old, terrible choice.
    5. Controls are awful, it's like your covered in superglue whenever you run. Even wide spaces need careful running as you can easily climb a chair or random wall.
    6. Glitches
    7. Glitches
    8. Skills customization (Most of these aren't even skills, they're just things assassins in previous games do by default like ROLLING after a fall). You miss out on a lot of skills if you don't play coop to get skill points, and they affect your single player missions. Which really sucks because you're not given new abilities and you miss out on old useful ones too.
    9. Boring final boss mission
    10. Story sucks, revenge plot (that's essentially it), no memorable cast at all
    11. Bad controls (Needs to be said twice)
    12. Enemies can be insanely difficult at times due to awful controls, I did not enjoy the combat at all, and I usually love AC combat, in that regard, weird difficulty spikes

All in all, the people at UBI put effort, and it shows, but they aimed for the stars and failed, rather than delivering a nice cheeseburger, they overcooked a steak to the point of it being barely edible. And you can't blame them, the company demands yearly games (2 this year) with huge scope.

This series needs to go back to basics, get tighter controls, adopt a less is more approach.

Worth it for $20, especially since you get dead kings DLC for free.

There are bugs - lots and LOTS of bugs - that make the game very frustrating. However, it is still AC, so you know it's fun. Plus it looks amazing on the PS4. That said, if you can deal with a game that literally feels unfinished, not broken, just not given a lot of love for such a AAA game, you will like it. That's why I rate it a solid good 7 to 8 out of 10 score. No more, no less. Yet aThere are bugs - lots and LOTS of bugs - that make the game very frustrating. This is a review of playing Unity AFTER THE 6.5 GB PATCH. In my time playing the game any bugs or glitches were very few and non effective to the actual playing and enjoying the game. But, in my time of multiplayer, I noticed issues of lagging, unable to connect, unable to perform basic attacks, being dropped out, or being the only player showing up for a 4 player co-op mission.

As for the game, Paris is my new favorite city! It's huge and more alive than any other AC city before it. The people in the crowds have many different personas from arguing with each other, having simple discussions, kissing, holding hands, staring off into the distance, laughing and carrying on with their own lives. Truly impressive city to interact with. Graphically, Paris seems to have a haze to it, although I'm not sure if this was done on purpose, reflecting the artwork, or else just the failure of the PS4 system to render it more crisp. The detail on the city buildings look awesome, yet the character themselves look rather bland until you bring the camera in real close to look at all the detail on the skin and clothing. Much like what I noticed in Dragon Age 3. Sound is just fine. I took advice from some people to use the French language option and use English subtitles, which feels more immersive with the history and location. So I'm not listening to these heavy Scottish and British accents in the middle of the French Revolution.

Of which I have to say that the French Revolution is one of the best time periods to have as a backdrop in a video game. You can really sense the anger and demand for change in the people of Paris as you move about. The stories play out quite dramatically in regards to the Reign of Terror, the Fall of the Republic and rise of Napoleon. And they are not done in the God-awful way they were in AC III by playing stupid mini-games to enact history's greatest events. Instead, the protagonist is much affected by events as he is trying to carry out his story. But, Arno, the hero of the game, isn't much of a protagonist. He is more of a plot device reacting to the world. This game certainly doesn't match Ezio's story archs in ACII and Brotherhood.

The gameplay itself still suffers from the wonky combat and movement that has plagued this series since ACIII. Nothing is more hilarious than watching an Assassin try to enter an open window; jumping up, down and all around until he finally goes in. Or, trying to hit the basic attack button, but being too close to a wall and its the same button to hide. Enemies have a field day wacking away at you while you try to figure out if you're going to fight or hide in front of your enemies. Arno has to be the worst fighter in Assassin history. Most times you are stuck in long animations of weapon swings and cannot break of contact to concentrate on multiple enemies. Killing Templars is easy enough with three good strikes; but, guards are much tougher as it takes five good hits to take them out. Get surrounded by three or four guards and you are in trouble while you are very busy blocking and attacking one guard, while another aims his pistol at you taking out half your health with one shot. And speaking of shooting, when a guard or Templar shoots at you, they are very accurate even before the days of rifle barreling. Running into a crowd to avoid getting shot does very little as they are able to place a bullet between your shoulder blades 90% of the time. What is a slap in the face is that Ubisoft seems to have made the combat intentionally difficult so that you can purchase short term upgrades to make you a better fighter. THESE ARE TRANSACTIONS TO PURCHASE ENTICING YOU TO USE REAL MONEY. And I deducted another point for pulling that pay to win **** But, when everything moves smooth with the right timing of your button, the combat and movement is a beautiful site. Too bad this happens less than half the time. Ubisoft should study Shadow of Mordor's combat and movements since they improved upon the AC concept. There was one horrible boss battle that involved horrendous QTE. Being a game were you develope your fighting skills, it's sad that you don't get to use it on your own terms. QTE must GO!!

That said. I loved jumping into Paris whenever I could. I generally hate multiplayer, but this multiplayer is all about co-op and its fun...when it works. With the patch work they done, this game delivers an enjoyable time

Sadly, I should start moving away from the launch window in most games. Now that the game is fixed, the big stuff like club competitions are beginning. It's like Christmas was it's true launch window.

I would stop just short of saying I love this game. I feel just enough on the surface that I can't dig into Paris like I'm a citizen like I felt for some reason in games like San Andreas or even Final Fantasy VI. It's like it's big, it has many quests, but maybe nothing is done to have the game force or enhance intimacy with some of the beautiful backgrounds. This game is so gorgeous, like L.A. Noire, this is a game that begs to have DLC fill every single nook and cranny of this map, but with interesting full quests with great dialog and interesting outcomes. It's one of the first games since the Ezio trilogy that begs for the yearly release cycle to just stop. Just today, I was in an area that had the most beautiful Apple orchard and a stream running past and the only thing to do near there was get a chest. I killed those group of guys, got the chest, the continued down stream and all I could think as I killed the red coats under the bridge were about the possibilities of stories that could have been told there.

I want ninja or samurai. I want at least for a Sherlock Holmes type character and a cowboy that don't wear hoods. At least the Sherlock Holmes type guy wouldn't have to kill people with hidden blades. There is so much potential for the series and I don't think they should scale back, they should flat out slow down. If they have to scale down to make it more intimate, that would be okay. The map in Unity is about as twice as big as it needs to be without the dlc, historical context, etc to some of the settings.

I don't need to tell you about how you can still get stuck doing parkour. Or how the story is starting to get kind of weird that everyone has to join the Assassins. Heck, maybe only every 3 or 4 years a numbered AC should be released and that should be the only game dealing with Assassin and Templar conspiracies. Everyone else will tell you those things. What I'll say is that this is still one of my staple franchises and it was well worth my money, but it won't rock your world or change the way you look at gaming. And despite the hate for Ubisoft right now, this is without a doubt the best looking game of the year and I'm running on AMD hardware so no PCSS and I don't have enough vram to run the highest texture settings at 1440p.

Unity is a good game that deserves mixed reviews. Most of the people giving this game a 10 decided they were going to like it before playing it, and those giving it a 0 are focused on one or two negative aspects or upset that the game isn’t exactly what they wanted it to be.

Beginning with the negative, let’s look at connectivity issues. The game was plagued with sync issues. This is to be expected (not an excuse) when trying to sync a game, Uplay, AC Initiates, and a companion app all at once. This could have benefited from more testing. However, none of this impacts the bulk of the experience. Running the companion on an ultrabook is a great second screen option for the map alone. There are still issues with chests tied to the app and Initiates properly syncing, but again, this is not a deal breaker by any means.

To be clear, the inclusion of microtransactions to acquire helix credits, which can be used to purchase or upgrade gear, is an obvious cash grab. However, these microtransactions are in NO WAY required to get everything out of the game. Everything you can do with helix credits can be done with normal in-game currency; credits just allow players to save time. And unlike many other games, the normal costs of these items are not so absurdly high that you have to grind for days to get them without buying credits.

Now for the technical issues. Based on the experience of thousands of players, the game certainly needs better optimization, regardless of system. That said, I experienced few issues on PS4. I experienced stuttering and framerate issues only a handful of times. Pop-ins happen but aren’t that noticeable unless you’re looking for them, and patches are making improvements. Only had one significant glitch thus far, and didn’t prevent progress.

The biggest issues with this game that really warrant giving it a lower score, are the story and characters. The overall plot is weak at best, the main character (Arno) is forgettable – along with just about all the others; there just isn’t much of a story being told at all. That said, the side missions are good and well presented, and they provide a good sense of the setting. If only the main plot wasn’t so terribly lackluster.

Now for the good. There is a lot that Unity improves on over past AC games. The parkour (climbing) system has significantly improved. While getting Arno to go where you want still doesn’t always happen, it’s not as frequent and the animations are good. The addition of downward freerun is a step forward for the series. When needing to climb down in a hurry, you no longer have to choose between blindly leaping off a building and slowly dropping from each and every ledge. Simply hold down two buttons and run towards the edge of the building to see Arno skillfully climb down.

The frustrating follow & listen missions from past games have been overhauled. You no longer have to stay so close to the target and mission areas are not packed to the brim with guards. It feels like much less of “which path do the devs think I should take” and more of “I’m a skilled assassin stalking my prey”.

In general, all of the missions are much more open-ended. There are lots of ways to accomplish the objective & while there are still preferred ways of doing things in a mission, they are now optional objectives instead of mandatory steps along the way. More than any other game in the series, Unity allows you to be the kind of assassin you want. The murder mysteries, while not really challenging, are a nice change of pace and include good snippets of story. The crowd missions are satisfying and appear with just the right frequency.

The graphics are impressive. Though not as high quality as Black Flag, this is to be expected given the complexity of the environment. The buildings are meticulously detailed, and the crowds are both large and dynamic. The city feels alive.

Gear variety is better than previous games, letting you choose the equipment that best suits your playstyle. This is echoed in the skill system, which allows you to prioritize which skills you want to unlock, rather than tying you to a preset sequence of progression. Combat is smooth and enjoyable. Arno feels powerful without making things too easy. Line of sight works the way it should, and the AI is good in terms of NPCs looking for you but not being supernatural about knowing your location.

In summary, Unity’s gameplay is solid, with lots of improvements that should be included in future AC games. The setting is superbly realized. Many frustrations seen in past games are reduced. Missions are enjoyable, open-ended, and varied. At the same time, any story or characters that would make this a noteworthy addition to the AC saga are completely absent. And while many of the technical issues are being resolved or relatively minor, their abundance at launch created a negative reaction from which this game will probably never recover.

However, this game lacks something the others have: relevance. This game's plot serves no purpose to the Assassin's Creed franchise. You could well skip this game and not have missed a thing; it's filler. The thing is, Ubisoft could've gotten away with that, but the story is only average at best.
The game is impressive to look at; Paris is easily the most beautiful, immersive, and detailed city in the series. The game's protagonist, Arno, is a charming character, and there are TONS of things to do, it'll make your head hurt if you have a bit of OCD for getting things to 100% at once. The combat and parkour have been changed to accomodate players who want a bit more complexity and challenge, and I say these are very welcome. Animations seem organic; The player's body behaves and reacts accordingly to its surroundings more naturally than ever. From a gameplay standpoint, Unity is one of the best in the series.
However, one cannot wash off the taste of a bad launch, one cannot shake the feeling that it all feels disconnected, as if the time invested in these characters is pointless and not worth of your time. Assassin's Creed has lost its touch of brilliance in story-telling, it has gone from mouth-opening revelations and cliffhangers to a cliche and generic formula, which is a shame. Last year's Black Flag already suffered of this, however Black Flag's saving grace was its consistency, cohesiveness, and its all-around fun gameplay. Unity feels more like a chore rather than an inviting fun experience. It's the best looking AC game yet, its got solid mechanics, but in the end it's the way it was poorly handled and the way it contributes nothing to the series' story that makes it all feel like a waste of time for the true fans.

The combat would have been a welcome change if the camera weren't so down-right evil and the controls were more responsive but, as it stands, it will not be a rare occurrence for the player to be shot to death by trigger happy enemies that are off screen. The stealth system is half-baked at best - the "cover" system shares the same sticky, unresponsiveness that crops up in the other places of the game. There is no rhyme or reason to when an enemy can see you or not - I've experienced being spotted by an enemy whilst I was crouching behind cover meters away, I've experienced walking up to enemies and them not batting an eye. The changes with the freerunning take some initial getting used to, but even then they don't noticeably improve on the issues familiar to the series.

The regular mainstays of the series are still here. Big, open world to run around and do parkour feats in; lots of collectibles to find; lots of side-quests; lots of stabbing dudes. The graphics are okay but nothing spectacular, even considering the number of characters that can be on the screen. It's all enough to get caught up in the game for a few dozen hours if you want to take care of everything the game has to offer.

There are some major technical issue with the game on PS4 and they are the primary reason for the lowered score. The framerate is locked at 30 fps, which doesn't bother me. What does bother me, however, is how ridiculously unstable it is. Anything from turning the camera around to running through a crowd to climbing a building can cause noticeable frame drops. There are also a number of restart-causing bugs that happen regularly. In my time with Unity I've experienced not being able to speak to key NPCs, getting stuck in walls while climbing up buildings, and even falling through the Earth into nothingness. Yes. I've randomly glitched through the ground whilst playing. The problems are present enough that they make the game feel half-baked and rushed. If I were head of Ubisoft QA, I'd probably be committing seppuku because I honestly don't understand how a game can ship out like this.

That's the major of it. The story is forgettable and skippable, which you'll probably do after the first hour. Ubisoft has abandoned most of the outter-framework story previous games has presented, but oh well.

Unity can still be a wholly enjoyable enjoyable experience, especially if you're an established fan of the series. The tough part is getting past all of the technical issues that refuse to go away.

These goodwill moves make the game much more playable. Secondly, the UI and in-game map are cluttered with too many in-game collectibles and co-op missions. Coming in a year and a half later, I feel safe in ignoring all of these. I am not going to "platinum" this game, so the collectibles don't matter. No one else plays this game, so co-op doesn't matter. This far from the game's launch, I am totally focused on the main quest (and tackling thieves on the street).

The game is very, very similar to Assassin's Creed 2. In fact, Assassin's Creed 2 was the last Assassin's Creed I played. The differences between the two are obviously the improved graphics and the story. Unity is gorgeous. Even a year and half later, it is one of the best looking PS4 games. The size of the city and on-screen action of the NPCs is amazing. The story in Unity is not so great. You get to meet a young Napolean. That seems cool. However, while Ezio was running his revenge scheme and learning about the Assassins, Arno is just running a revenge scheme, and keeps revenging long after he gets his revenge. Arno isn't a bad guy, for an assassin. It's just that Ezio was a better character you cared about more. At one point in Unity, Arno fights his mentor. I had zero feels for this fight. The characters didn't matter.

I'm giving Unity a solid 7. This isn't a terrible score. Unity is playable and fun in a drop a smoke bomb and spam square sort of way. The game looks great. The problem is clearly a lack of focus. Ubisoft was intent on tacking on as many features as possible and connecting to Uplay as much as possible. It's like how even the best Dell computer is sullied by its own crapware. Unity is so burdened by features that a new player can hardly figure out how to equip alternative weapons much less find anything on the in-game map. If you pick this game up for $10 or less, just ignore all of the side crap and focus on the main quest. Also, upgrade your home base early for easy money. Oh, and spam those smoke bombs.

While in idea sounds great I felt rather trapped. They could have done so much more. I have been replaying IV on the PS4 and I missed the open world. The big open environments. I believe if Unity had more cities I would have given it a higher score. Also while the map is scattered with tons to do..it really doesn't take too long to finish them all. assassins creed unity is a beautiful game in a giant beautifully recreated Paris although the story and the gameplay isn't top notch.the premise and the graphics are. i would have given this game a better review but it lags like hell on consoles so i can only recommend it for someone who owns a beefy PC

This game is solid no matter what these fools say. Its fun even tho the combat is still way too easy. Graphics are good missions are fun but the bugs are a major detractor. It looks like your animus was attacked by hackers the open world feels good but animations are badly unpolished. I dont understand the need to make a stealth game co-op. Ac fans dont need multiplayer especially co-op.

This game is not as bad as everyone says it is, though it may seem so from the start. The game is buggy to be sure, clipping through walls and ghosting through citizens roaming the streets is far from unheard of on the journey of Arno the Assassin.

However, the big glaring issue seems to be less about these bugs and the lackluster story and more about Ubisoft not putting enough love and time into their game. This is a game that should have been released in Q1 of next year and not in Q4. Also we have to remember that this is the first time this engine has been used on the new hardware of the PS4 and XBOne, so anyone who didn't expect some issues with the physics needs to recheck their expectations.

The story was OK, it wasn't terrible, but it creates some nice contrast to the previous AC games which I think is reflected in Rogue, which came out at the same time. Previously there have been clear cut lines between who is good and who is evil, but these two games defy those conventions.

Character customization is the best addition to this game and the online co-op is pretty fun. The only motivation I had for doing many of the side stories, particularly the "Young Prince" mission and the "Swiss Stash" mission (both of which were frustratingly difficult), was the wads of cash I would be rewarded upon completion. ₣25,000 for a katana so I can slice through enemies with a swiftness... hold on, let me spend an hour methodically assassinating everyone in a building for this ridiculously huge reward.

Though that does bring me to the combat system. It's trash, they tried to make it better and they just made it frustratingly difficult, riddled with ridiculous one hit kills and an ineffective blocking system. This does promote the use of stealth, though that system is filled with glaring issues as well.

I don't condemn this game, it's OK, but more than that it is a learning opportunity for the folks at Ubi to make an even better AC game the next time around.

Visual: 9/10 [Gorgeous vision of Paris and stunning character models]
Gameplay: 6/10 [New system not executed well, needs to find a middle ground between the old system and the new]
Story: 6.5/10 [It's a story, but it's a bit lackluster and it's nothing to write home about]
Features: 8/10 [Customization and Co-op are shining stars in this game]

A couple hours into this game and I'm not as blown away as I thought i would be. The BAD... I have to say is that the new fighting system is HORRIBLE!!!! When you counter an attack it looks like your swatting away a fly. it doesn't feel smooth at all. Leveling up during the campaign breaks the flow of the game. I shouldn't have to level up to progress in the story.

If I were to rate this game on my 1st 3 hours of play I would have given it a 4 or 5/10 but I came to realize something; AC:Unity is like dating a supermodel with a pretty obvious mental disorder. If you can look past that and see that underneath you have not only a beautiful game but one that does a lot right in spite of itself.

Here is a scenario I want to lay out for you: Two lone assassins overlooking a Parisian square full of dissident citizens meticulously examine the crowd in search of their Templar "mark". Upon discovery of their target they realize the perimeter is littered with various guards, rifleman, and numerous other issues that if they dive in straight on....they will not make it out alive. With no words said the two assassins split up and begin to dissect their adversaries one by one. As their foes fall they instinctively converge on each other again to once again lay eyes on the target Templar in question. His armed escort of 5 guards makes a direct assault very risky indeed, and both assassins know this. Again with no words being spoken the 1st assassin throws a well placed smoke bomb and leaps from his ledge directly onto the mark plunging his blade into his neck. The 2nd assassin immediately follows their lead and executes two guards immediately before they can even react. Each assassin then squares off on the final two guards resulting in a quick decisive victory in combat; they day is theirs and they retreat to the shadows with not one word being spoken between the two of them.

THIS my friends is what I experienced in my very 1st Co-Op session in AC:Unity..even being a novice assassin by rank in game I am no stranger to the series and neither was my partner who joined my session (total stranger by the way). We did not use voice chat once, there was no hot-dog 1 man army antics. We both had a job to do; we understood what needed to be done, and we executed it to near perfection. I cannot tell you the last time I had this much fun in an AC game. It felt like since AC Brotherhood this was how AC was meant to be played; and when it all goes smoothly it truly does feel like one of the best AC experiences of the series.

Now imagine all of that but throw in terrible immersion breaking hiccups in framerate, collision detection, and a sometimes unresponsive parkour system and you can see why many folks are crying FOUL at this game. For lack of better phrasing, it is simply a damn shame because if AC:Unity could fix the technical issues it really would be delivering everything it promised. Underneath all the muck and mire of bad coding lays a fantastic game almost screaming to come out.

AC:Unity is old school AC..It is what made us fall in love with AC in the 1st place while stripping back much of the "fluff" mechanics the series has adopted over the years. It goes back to massive cities, rooftop stalking, and the freedom to take down your mark in whatever way works best for you. In a way it is almost a "reboot" of the series. Many fans have found issue with this, but it does provide a fresher landscape for future AC games to be built on.

One thing I want to mention is Arno feels much more "human" than previous assassins. This is largely in part due to the new animations in parkour but you feel more like a real person doing parkour than some some sort of Batman-esque superhero making down right impossible leaps. It makes sense in this context because Arno is just coming into his own as an Assassin. It NEVER made any sense for me why in AC:Black Flag Edward suddenly goes from deck hand on a ship to amazingly gifted assassin essentially overnight. It never set well with me and AC:Unity feels more grounded and "real" as a result. Much like the Nolan Batman movies give him a much more "human" style of combat and movement. Combat is similarly more realistic as well. Sure you can still be a bad-ass swordsman but gone are the days where you can kill 20-30 guards one by one in a group. Early on in the game..anything more than 2 guards meant you more than likely have to run. Combat is more methodical and guards will attack at the same time rather than line up to die like they did in previous AC games. I actually find myself saying "oh sh*t" more often in this than I have in any AC game before because there is a real sense of danger that the AC games started shifting from.

All in all my biggest piece of advice if you are on the fence about this game is to HOLD OFF buying it until Ubisoft fixes many of the major technical issues that plague all versions of the game. The good news is, they have recently said they are "working on it" but make sure you hold off on your purchase till they deliver on that promise.

Ive only encountered these issues and only come across 1 glitch in the 20+ hours of gameplay which I've had on this so far which was my player falling through the floor. I've not come across any other glitches either in game or during cut scenes that are being reported.

Take way these issues and you have what is a great game on PS4. Every game has their teething problems and I'm sure they will be ironed out quickly. There's already been a day 1 patch to fix some issues and I'm sure once they have gathered all the feedback there will be update following

Overall this is a great game with its highs and lows but the highs definitely out weigh the lows

Because Unity is far from perfect, and it offers very little that is new. Having said that I like it and I haven't experienced any thing like the problems that people are moaning about. You'd think that the future of world peace was dependent on this game's release.

    Stuttering - not encountered any.
Weird combat - it's the same as it's ever been - you might have to press different buttons to do different things but hey it's a game!
Face disappearing - not yet but looking forward to this Hammer Horror moment.
Falling through the world - not encountered this.
Low frame rate - not experienced this - and big deal - I couldn't tell what frame rate this game is running at with my naked eyes. It's a pretty environment and it lives in a convincing way.
Crowd scenes - great. No problems.
Co-op play - done a bit. Not really interested in it in the long run but I haven't had any problems.
Connection to Uplay - working fine. Occassionally drops out but my world hasn't ended as a consequence.

On the whole it's a good game. Not great. Not groundbreaking. But this is Assassins Creed. How many times can you keep rehashing the same consipracy theory plot without it starting to become a bit tired. Maybe Ubisoft need to put this one to bed and do something a bit more original. Now there's a thought.

The main problem with Ac Unity for me are the three new pillars, Stealth, Combat and Navigation. It is evident pretty early on that ac unity try's to make you take the stealth approach as appose to going in all guns blazing. Which wouldn't be to bad if the stealth was actually fun and worked well. The cover system fails to work for you 80% of the time, detection is ridiculous (even with upgrades equipment) and overall it's just not fun!

Combat, when tackling two or three enemies at a time isn't so bad, though it's not that fun either. But when it comes to anything above that, your most certainly dead! And with nothing left but stealth to rely on, your **** Now I suppose there are moments in which stealth does work, and when it does it's great! But then you have to tackle the issue of finding a suitable route, which is no easy feat!

When it comes to parkour in Ac Unity, it's overall not to bad. It's actually quite fun most of the time. But it isn't with out it's fair share, or more than rather, of issues. But I'm willing to look over them as they don't both me all that much.

Story: The story of the Assassin's Creed games is a pivotal part of the franchise, and I believe it's where the games happen to excel. Though when it comes to Ac Unity, I'm incredible disappointed! Secondary characters are underdeveloped, the modern day sections are entirely pointless at this point, and the plot just isn't interesting! Arno however, happens to be one of the story's only interesting features (that's when he's not talking about redemption that is).

Secondary missions are something fun and new, but not enough for me to forgive the games poor story. At the moment, I can't see a bright future for the story of ac.

CO-OP: To be honest, I couldn't care less at this point, I think I'll go back to AC2

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After 4 patches, this game has much less performance issues now, finally playable.

Though it's story background is the French Revolution, it barely has nothing to do with it. The whole story is only a revenge, and all what brotherhood did was just to stay out of the revolution. Remember the first CG trailer? I used to thought the main story is about how the brotherhood would help push the revolution. When I played the game, I found that it was nothing but my illusion…
I'm really appointed about the story.

As for the gameplay, it was actually pretty fun, side missions have various interesting stories.
But the biggest problem is taking cover, you have to leave current cover to get around the corner, even Watch_Dogs could do that better.

It's not worth my expectation, but still a not bad game, I'd give a 7 out of 10.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Overall, I think the gameplay is pretty fun, the story is pretty good, and I've personally experienced minimal bugs/glitches/frame rate issues. However, the controls for climbing buildings and such seem somewhat stiff and do not always respond when you want them to. The fighting seems a little bit clunky, however, I do rather enjoy the sort of fencing style that Arno utilizes. As mentioned earlier, I do really like the story, however, I can't help but feel like it's somewhat rushed. I feel as though Elise's death at the end of the game was completely unnecessary. Basically, what that tells me is that her death is meaningless. I mean sure, I understand they wanted a dramatic ending, but I feel like that was the wrong way of approaching it. Elise's death would have had more of an emotional impact if she was killed off earlier in the game, in my opinion. Expand
