I have a Logitech G933 Artemis Spectrum an I have huge sound problems. No sound in dialogs, background sounds are missing and so on.

Short, with my headset, it's unplayable for me. I have heard, that other 7.1 systems and headphones have similar problems. All workarounds I found didn't help. So if your setup is similar to mine, do NOT by the game! UPDATE: I found a workaround.

    UPDATE:
I found a workaround. Starting the game, plugging out and in the dongle from the headset helps.

After this first issues I can say now, that the game seems pretty amazing. The sound is not awesome but still very good. The graphics are really good and the graphics menu is the best I have ever seen. You have now an ingame fps graph which you can open with F1.

I play in 4k with everything maxed out and an average fps of 50.

The storytelling of the side quests is well done and understandable. It's always a full little story.

The main story after completing 30% of it, I don't know, It has it's good and bad sides. It would help, if you would get more information about egypt in that time ingame. But the characters are definetly better than in the last ACs it feels good to be a medjai.

    BTW:
If you google Medjau you will find the word written in hyroglyphes on the german wikipedia page and there is a hidden blade in it.
    Really good research Ubisoft.

    UPDATE2:
The main story is... ok. Not **** like in the Ezio Trilogy but ok.

But and that is a BIG but:
You can find several tombs and in some of them are underground constructions from the ones that where before and they are talking to the women that lays in the animus. But it is all just bla bla that references some theories that the modern science currently has. The reaction of the character is ZERO. Just ZERO. Ezio was mindblown as hell and your medjau just listens (like: i don't f***ing care).

So it is a good step back to what AC was and the historic part is really good, but the sci fi part is just cold bla bla. No soul, no heart, no mindblowing. A shame.

Sadly, but it's the worst Assassins creed game since AC3. A lot of bugs and glitches ruined gameplay. The main character is not interesting. His motivation is incomprehensible

Because of stupid 1.03 patch, I have ce-34878-0 error all the time. and can't play.
and they also make new save and overwrite my save. So I lost all my save in this game.
And most of ps4 user who own this game have same error (ce-34878-0 error) or lost save file.
This is sloppy service management. and i'll never buy ubisoft's game

DO NOT BUY. Nothing but a long boring grind unless you pay real money for loot boxes to get ahead. pass. Loot boxes have no place in a $60 game. Loots boxes are nothing but greedy and predatory. They are gambling, and they take advantage of people that they know will get addicted to this.

It's funny how the positive reviews are flooding up when people are realizing that Ubisoft paid for good reviews, isn't it? Surely it's not like they know this game is gonna be buggier and more transactiony than the last one!!

Denuvo + VMProtect cause a lot of trouple and slow the game and for worst, the game's already PIRATED. In addition, it has a big pay-to-win system where you can buy everything with real money, though BUGIsoft said that the items were going to be paid with the in-game gold. The game itself, politcs apart, feels mediocre and boring.

10/10 Because this game deserves better than a 7.9. this is my attempt to bring the average back up. It is a solid 9/10 game. It is a flushed out RPG, compelling/ memorable main & side quests, much improved combat, and a wonderfully crafted open world.

This game is akin to the Witcher 3, the best game ever made, and that is a great thing.

I find it hard to believe that you can give this game a negative review. I have never played a game with the size and beauty this game has to offer. Sure there are still some weaknesses as every game has had but the strengths greatly outweigh those weaknesses. The game itself does not entirely feel like an assassin’s creed game. It feels like I am playing Witcher 3 with Assassin’s Creed mechanics, in terms of character and mission depth. The glaring weakness in this game is stealth. Seems like Ubisoft took a step backwards when it comes to stealth but then again, you must realize this character does not start off as a trained assassin who know how to operate stealthy. I have never felt anything repetitive in this game which has been a downfall for previous games. The looting is quicker, the customization is endless, and the ability tree helps regulate story and character flow.

    What makes it epic:

    - the hero is a real badass (and it's very pleasant to have him breaking enemy's bones)

    - the open world is unique and mesmerizing

    - quests are varied with always a good storytelling behind

    - you learn things about ancient cultures while playing (and this fun/educational aspect is unique these days)

For me this is definitely the best AC and probably one of the best game this year (just behind BotW).

The setting of ancient Egypt is beautiful and interesting (just got a 4K tv and a pspro on Black Friday and it's the best looking game I've ever laid my eyes on!). The map is huge! So much to explore, you can even swim to the bottom of every lake and ocean in the game, if you can see it you can go there. The map is so big at the end of the main story line I hadn't even visited it all, not even close really. I still have a million things to do after the main story concludes and that's not a bad thing. Tons of side quests, gladiator arena events, dlc boss battles, many a location yet undiscovered, on and on. The amount of content here is unreal.

As for the story, I enjoyed it, for me it's more about gameplay and the combat, whether it be a lowly guard or boss fight or gladiator arena event or the few black flag inspired ship battles it's all a blast.

I know micro transactions are a sticky subject I'm an old ass gamer who hates them! I'll just say I never once even looked at what's was available in store. I just played the game on normal difficulty and the game progression was spot on, levelling up abbility and gear was a non issue, enemies never felt cheap and for an action rpg I never felt it was a grind.

This is a perfect game, once again excited for the AC series.

First of all I m playing AC:O on a PS4 Pro with 4K HDR equipment and the game looks amazing. Anyone saying that the graphics are bad has honestly no clue about it. The facial expressions are not perfect but still very good, the atmospherical details are stunning, like brick walls, grass, sand been blowing through caves, sun blinding light that covers you when exiting a building. I didnt mention any obvious bugs like clipping, render popping or frame drops which is amazing because a lot games suffer on this end.

Voice acting is well made and covers the whole game which is to me something decently appealing. The voice seem to fit pretty good what they need to represent. Fighting, soundtrack and ambient are also really decent. I enjoy it a lot on my home cinema setup.

Controls and combat got some irritating beef which made me hold back on this game but honestly I dont get why. I still feel pretty noob-ish on console controls sometimes but AC:O has a well enough mix. Easy one button mashing which needs to be switched for shield carrying enemies and some bow action, mixed with some dodging. I personally dont need more and I like the basic simplicity of it.

The inventory and crafting system is well made. You need to grind a bit for the materials but it is okay. You can get it by hunting animals, robbing material transfers or jumping on ships looting them. Another way is just by exploring and looting the environment or ship wrecks in the sea (which looks amazing!!). I didnt experience a carry limit. Everything you gain can be dissembled in your inventory by one click to gain raw materials or can be sold on the market. Items have different looks, feels and rarity. I like this a lot give the open world feeling a deeper rpg part.

Sneaky sneaky can still be part of the game if you want to be. Assassinating is still huge if you want it to be huge and also plain slashing your way through is also mostly possibly. It is fair that the game provides a solution for everyone.

Questing and progression are decent to me. You need to invest quite some time. This could be hard for casuals but is exactly what the majority of core gamers might be looking for. The side quests feel very appealing to me. There your casual fighting, delivering, revenging etc. stuff but you also need to investigate murders, help on a farm or carry injured ppl back home. I find this is a really decent and interesting mix which I havent found in a game so far.

Open world is a key aspect in this game and very well implement. Synchronized spots can be used for fast travel. You can (auto)-ride by horse or splish-splosh your way on boats. Mediocre distances can be well taken by foot. I feel that the world is HUGE but its decently made so I dont need to waste amounts of time by just wandering around to another spot if I dont want to.

Assassins Creed was very disappointing to me for ages but AC:O honestly sealed the deal for me. You can invest money for cosmetics (which are well made) and the world feels fun. I dropped maybe 15-20 hr in the game and I want to keep going. The gold edition which sells at sale times around 60-70 is worth it so far.

    Have fun!

    In the longrun update:
After playing through most of the bonus stuff and DLCs I reduced my opinion from 10 to 9. The DLCs are well made and offer a great addition to the game although I myself felt a lack of variety in gameplay and some AI bugs were driving me nuts. I felt that the Gold Edition was too much for me. If I would ve bought only the main game it would ve been the perfect time/price ratio. Also the story progression overall lacked a bit in the DLCs.

    So I would rate:
    - Sole main game 9 to 10
    - Main game plus DLCs 8 to 9

I still felt the game so worthy after putting aroung 70hrs in it that I think 9 is a fair rating for the bundle.

Origins was the hit Ubisoft needed it to regain the fans trust in the series. The Map is very, very large with a variety of stuff to do. You can either do side quests, discover tombs, hunt animals, climb pretty much everything or you can just simply ride your horse and enjoy the beautiful graphics. The combat is bit difficult to get use to but eventually you'll figure it out. This game is by all means an RPG, which if you are not a fan of then you probably won't like but i love that aspect.

However, that doesn't mean it's perfect. Bayek as a protagonist is extremely bland, shallow and very boring. The Story is pretty much a recycled version of AC2, a revenge story in which you hunt down and kill shadowey figures who were involved in the murder of your son.
And finally we have bugs, it just woundn't be an Assassins creed game without its bugs. The game can get a bit buggy sometimes, E.G freezing for a minute then resuming, constant FPS drops (especially when you're fighting a large number of enemies) .
Micro-Transactions never were really a problem here, the game really doesn't force you to buy anything, unlike other games (looking at you Shadow of War).
But all in all i find myself satisfied with the game and it is definitely worth a buy.

All the people defending microtransactions have no economic sense. It doesn't cost developers anything noteworthy to add extra armor or gear into the game. These items should never cost extra.

Even if it seems cool to drive through many things, but this doesn't even include crash effects. This is, as I should say, a truckload of glitches. You drive though bridges, even from above, hills should've slowed you down, driving in reverse in a speed of 2005 mph is too mind crazing, and no level boundaries. This game is so bad that you can get dumb after playing it for 30 minutes.

Gonna be honest here, I'm a gamer first and foremost and I enjoy playing games every time I can. What I hate here is how they've gone absolutely nuts with microtransactions and other silly, stupid shticks. The optimization and lag are also terrible, especially on a mid-end gaming PC like my Windows 7.

Played this game for about thirty hours now. I have really enjoyed AC:Origins in general, but sometimes I feel like, the game pushes you do a lot of side quests, even though you don't want to do it. On the other side I find the Open World and new combat system of the new Assassin's Creed game really successful. Ubisoft, you did a good job this time!

One of the best games I have ever played, it has all the fun that we need nowadays:
    - Huge open world
    - Good story and missions
    - Incredible detailed world and graphics
    - Loot
    - Day/night cycle
    - Some fun activities
    - Hunt for resources
    - A nice skill tree
    - Excellent stealth

    Highly recommended!

Origins is a great game, it's a new wave in genre, in entire AC. Story line and side quests are very exiting, seriously it's the first AC where it is a pleasure to complete or even took a side quest. Graphics is good, especially on PS4, very nice, had one small animation bug, but that's OK.

It is sad that we have reached a point where games publishers think that charging full price for a game isn't enough; instead they want more money by giving the player incentive to pay for loot boxes. It is especially sad because the game itself is already a buggy, glitchy mess. Jeez Ubisoft, you make Bethesda look good.

The audio again before the update was scary bad. It sounded like a CB radio wrapped in foil, at the bottom of the ocean and stuck under a fish bowl. The combat is a mess, very frustrating at times.

Beside the bad things I have come across. The game is very beautiful, the story line is good and the side missions are fun. The game is overall fun and Ubisoft does do a good job with the exploring side of things. The map size is crazy large and shows promises for the future completion.

Taking two points away because of microtranscations, stop expecting us to pay extra for something that is already expensive.

Now I can't help but notice I've spent 60 hours already on this, and I suggest that once in Siwa (after the tutorial), you remove most of the HUD, just keep the crosshair, and don't follow any quest when you can. You will have a complete "blank" screen to play

You will have a complete "blank" screen to play with, and it's perfectly possible to finish the game without objectives showing up on your screen. If you're lost, open the map, look around (you have an eagle), and it's way better this way. You can walk around the cities and find quests givers on the way, or just see that there is a camp, no need for red dots all over the place, you can see the ennemies and you don't have to worry about your health bar, your screen will shake when you're low on health.

Nice immersive open world, but still repetitive once you've encountered all ennemies and animals.

I'd say it's an improvment compared to Unity and Syndicate, Black Flag was same fun for me, but nothing beats your first AC experience.

Bayek seems to have the tiniest reach with his weapons, and the dodging/blocking attacks is slower than it could be. Customisation via weapons etc are a positive, and there's a wide variety of attacks relating to the different weapons used.

There's an abundance of content, including side missions with more depth than previous entries, showing the developers put more effort into this game, but the story-telling and writing aren't very memorable, nor compelling. Due to the levelling system, you need to complete much of these side stuff to continue on the main quest, which can get tedious and boring. Bayek (main character) is likeable and his story is based on a revenge hunt-them-down trope, with some hiccups on the road. You often play as his wife who is again, interesting. Yet, there is something rather cringey about this angry woman assassin in 49BC going around killing off famous militaristic figures and overpowering muscular Greek and Roman soldiers. I assume the writers believe such an adaptation a requirement in meeting present day political correctness standards. I mean, the second you load up the game Ubisoft hits you with a disclaimer of how 'this work of fiction was designed, developed, and produced by a multicultural team of various beliefs, sexual orientations and gender identities.' Wow, thanks virtuous Ubisoft. You've anticipated the review criteria of Polygon! lol

I have a confession to make with this game. I did not play much of it. Some may be wondering why I’m writing an article on it then and the truth is. I sat down and started playing the game, the combat felt okay and the story felt okay as well. Primarily I wanted to play the game because I like Ancient Egyptian Culture. The truth is, I sat down started playing it for about an hour. I opened up the map and saw how many areas I needed to open up and I just didn’t have it in me right now. After playing Zelda and Shadow of War last month. I need a break from Open World games right now.

Maybe in 2018, I’ll give this game another shot but for now. I can’t do it.

Everything is fine. But Aya is the most boring distract ive character I have ever seen. Every time she was on the screen I wanted someone to kill that emotionless stupid **** The dialogues are meaningless. I have no ideas what a hell are they talking about. New creed comes from nowhere... That is not an origin that we want.

A good Assassin's Creed game but not as good as Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection.

Sin duda alguna uno de los mejores juegos que he experimentado, y cambien uno de los mejores AC que he jugado,un nuevo camino al éxito de esta saga que si necesitaba un cambio.

This is probably the most fun I have had on the PS4. The game world is huge, immersive, with a really interesting intersection into actual historic events and characters. In short the game world will captivate you. Anybody reading this should note that I am a casual gamer and that, as a casual gamer, this game fulfilled my needs perfectly. Anybody reading this should note that I am a casual gamer and that, as a casual gamer, this game fulfilled my needs perfectly. If you are a 'serious' gamer or a 'pro' gamer then you may find it a little too easy, or a little lacking in depth in terms of inventories and upgrading. For me I loved the ease at which I could glide into the action combined with the decent, though not overwhelming, depth. Onto the game.

    Positives:

    - Beautiful visuals
    - Interesting characters and story line
    - Good amount of depth without being too tedious or time-consuming
    - Excellent controls. Really the control system, for both movement and combat, is superbly realised. When you go back to other games after playing this you will wonder why they cannot be as intuitive as Origins.
    - Large open world with lots to do.
    - It is, at its core, a fun game to play.
-The expansions are also really well realised, in particular the Valley of the Pharaohs which adds a hell of a lot of additional content.

    Negatives:

    - Perhaps lacking in a bit of depth in the upgrading systems (though for me personally I didn't mind that)
    - Some repetitive missions.
    - AI could be better in certain situations.
    - I personally hate when the games story line fades out and it cuts back to the present time (in game). I find it breaks the narrative, and the suspension of reality, when playing. I know they won't, as it is a staple of the AC universe, but I wish they'd just throw that part out.
    - The boss fights tend to be quite one-dimensional and rarely provide much of a challenge.

An excellent game for me, I would highly recommend it.

OMG this game is just amazing! I had cooled a bit down to the Assassins Creed series, but this latest one just keep getting better and better. Even after I finished it 100% they keep adding in new things to explore and everything is just so beautifully realised. I am a BIG fan again. Go buy this game. You deserve it.

The game is good, not great, and here is why...

Pros: -Absolutely amazing graphics (my god that water) -Close to atmospheric perfection -Looting can be addicting (if you are into RPGs) -Exploration is rewarding, especially with that smooth parkour -Lots of hidden places worthy to go to Cons: -Combat is sluggish and can be awkward -SERIOUS lack of animations...i mean come on

Assassin's Creed: Origins is the best game in the series, but it's a mediocre action RPG at its core. In this sense, it both succeeds and fails at being a much-needed franchise shakeup.

Origins is the newest installment in rather worn out series and a much appreciated and needed refresh. New combat and graphically fantastic environment with tons of content will gave you some nice moments. The game is not a blast but it is a proof that AC is back on the right track again, for now.

With a beautiful world you'll repeatedly die for and lethal toys to play with, Assassin's Creed Origins finally delivers the game you always wanted from the series. Brilliant. [Christmas 2017, p.87]
