A more than satisfactory expansion that takes us to Sinai to give us much more content and even improve somewhat the story arc of the creation of the Brotherhood of the Assassins with respect to the base game.

If you love the Assassin's Creed universe and you want to know more about the fate of medjay Bayek, this add-on, in fact, proves truly unmissable.

A lot of what The Hidden Ones gets right is its ability to take familiar concepts from Assassin’s Creed Origins and make them feel new again by means of a new purpose, a new story, and a new creed. A new direction to the story that makes Bayek more relatable, high-level combat keeps quests challenging even when you’re fully leveled up, and a more rewarding pace of loot provide an opportunity to feel something new without straying too far from what I loved about Origins in the first place.

Assassin’s Creed Origins: The Hidden Ones is probably exactly like you expect – it offers more of everything you liked about the base game, but it won’t surprise you or offer anything revolutionary.

If you do not expect sudden changes, plot twists or other craziness, you will probably like The Hidden Ones. It does not really do things differently, which means the experience is pretty much the same.

The Hidden Ones DLC continues where it left off and it's mostly more of the same, which is excellent if you loved Assassin's Creed Origins. We would have liked to see more variety and more beauty in the region, but it's still a must play for the fans.

Assassin's Creed Origins: The Hidden Ones it the ultimate example of more of the same. Honestly, the core gameplay is as good as the full game and, in places, it's even better, with some real highlights. However, with a disappointing new zone design, a lacklustre main story, and nothing new or bold to set it apart, it just feels like filler and occasionally dull, which is a real shame considering how Ubisoft's track record with original and memorable DLC has been.

Since I started this when I was the highest level, the DLC seemed to be rather easy and quick. I enjoyed playing and exploring Sinai, but sadly what with the glitches of Bayek being eaten by a mountain, I will have to give the score lower than I expected.

With its feet firmly planted in Assassin’s Creed Origins’ new open world direction, The Hidden Ones should satiate those in need of traversing more geographically interesting locations, completing quests, looting tombs, hunting down bandits, and going after those bloody Romans. More of the same all around, so your mileage of enjoyment may vary.

The first big dlc for Assassin’s Creed Origins is more of the same. It is okay, but simply not very surprising.

Assassin's Creed Origins: The Hidden Ones is a rock solid expansion to a great game. It doesn't try to surprise or break the mould, but that's fine when the core gameplay remains this strong. For fans of Origins this is a no-brainer -- the story successfully builds upon the existing narrative, and there are some really enjoyable missions to sink your hidden blade into.

Assassin's Creed Origins' first DLC offers nothing new to anyone who finished the main game: with its artificial difficulty and its mandatory leveling, The Hidden Ones only takes advantage of its magnificent background to please the eye, even if you may encounter more bugs in a few hours of gameplay than in the entire series itself.

If you wanted something vastly different, like Assassin's Creed III's The Tyranny of King Washington or Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag's Freedom Cry, it looks like you'll be waiting until March and the release of The Curse of the Pharaohs.

Hardcore fans of the series will probably not be discouraged by all the flaws (bugs and glitches, weak and not very exciting storyline) and they'll buy this DLC regardless. But it's necessary to point out all these shortcomings simply because Ubisoft can do so much better. The DLCs to Assassin's Creed games were never superb, but Origins really is a good game that deserves solid expansions - and The Hidden Ones is unfortunately not one of them.

Things such asThis is a worthy expansion to Assassin's Creed: Origins. There are some improvements upon concepts that were in the base game. Things such as the assassinations themselves are far more entertaining and much more open. Unlike in the base game, you need to find and kill your target in an open area (like a fort) which you can tackle in anyway you want. You can sneak your way around the fort and stealth kill your target or you can run into the fort and kill everything you see. It's all about freedom of choice, which is something the base game didn't handle very well (in terms of the main assassination targets). While the main story is only 3-4 hours, it is much more streamlined and does not drag like the base game story. The characters are still great and this expansion adds more depth to them. The side quests are much improved as well. The Hidden Ones goes for quality or quantity. Each side quest is unique and memorable. Gone are the dozens of side quests were you save someone from a camp and return him/her to safety. With a $10 price tag, this is definitely worth it, especially if you are a fan of Assassin's Creed: Origins. Full Review »
