Gioco letteralmente penoso, ingiocabile, buggato e a tratti frustrante, ripetitivo e nauseante. Esperienza pessima per chi, come me, lo ha acquistato al day one. 70 euro buttati via, sarebbe stato meglio spenderli in veleno. NON ACQUISTATELO PER NULLA AL MONDO. NEANCHE GRATIS.

Best gunplay of its generation, the only downside is the story isn’t stellar which is a shame for a bioware game, and the reason it doesn’t rate a full 10 for me

It's a fun and beautiful game. The combat is solid and engaging, the landscapes are breathtaking and fun to explore. The only downside is the lack of endgame content, but hopefully anthem next (the planned rework update) can fix that.

Despite its flaws, there's a good game at its core. I love most of the writing, the lore is vast and when you get into it you just want more, and yes the flying is some of the coolest you'll do compared to some other modern games. Anthem deserves a chance to get better, and it needs time and money to do that. Expand

This could be one of my favourite game ever and instead it was been a shame.
Promised updates never arrived, lack of content and remake stopped.
For the rest (graphics, gameplay, etc.) magnificent game.

As the weekend passed and Anthem was released global we saw a variety of things from the long awaited EA BioWare 2019 flagship title. Many of which were terribly disappointing; to say the least.

I think that however distasteful as it may be, the best thing to do is start with the bad. At least that way there will be the proverbial silver lining at the end; which thankfully there is.

I think that however distasteful as it may be, the best thing to do is start with the bad. At least that way there will be the proverbial silver lining at the end; which thankfully there is. Well; slightly.

With ridiculous loading screen times that, literally left room for some important tea and bathroom breaks, and more crashes than my Dad’s 8 year old desktop pc it can easily be labelled as a rocky start. With that said, it also raises questions about how much testing of the final product was done prior to release or if these issues were a result of the post-beta changes.

Other less serious issues included extremely short game ending times after a final boss defeats and lack of loot. Hanging on screens between instances, and many other niggling annoyances.

It really begs the question of what they were thinking when they decided to release the game at this stage, and with knowledge of the post-beta changes they’d made. However, this can be partially forgiven as recent comments from the Anthem camp have said they thought it could have benefited from a little more time. So they know things have gone a bit array and are looking to change them.

Thankfully, it seems that BioWare are learning from the failings of their competitors and were all over them like a dog on a bone churning out patch 1.03 in an attempt to fix many of the pressing issues; then whatever it didn’t fix, or seemingly made worse, they tried tackling in the quickly succeeding patch 1.04.

On the other side of the coin there were quite a few good points that have been noted by a vast number of players, which I have to agree with. Anthem, by far, has some of the most impressive environments gamers have seen thus far. Also, In spite of the lack of general storyline, the game is very much enjoyable to play and with some fine tuning could very well turn into a great game; even a brilliant one.

I think one of the main things that everyone, including myself, noted from this weekend‘s gaming was that, in spite of the over exaggerated claims otherwise, this was nowhere near as bad as the Fallout 76 disaster. And another thing is that EA BioWare have been especially quick to, and progressively, respond to players issues and feedback. We'll see how it goes, but for now It's a middle of the road rating from me. Good ideas, great look; bad execution.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Anthem has been one of the best games I have played in a while. It reminds me of another game, in a suit and fighting on desolate planet. The story is very exciting to be able to play alone or with a group. The graphics are very good and help carry the ow of the storyline. Expand

Is Anthem worth $3? Yes! Is it worth $60? NO! Because when the game came out, this version is a buggy, GLITCHY mess! Listen. The game is completely different to Destiny and it’s made by Mass Effect developer BioWare and it damaged their reputation as a great developer for EA. I am SO glad that EA has moved on to better games like Dead Space and Wild Hearts.

Ridiculous and lazy game that forces you to do online missions to continue the story. A shame made by EA.

I will never forget and obviously never forgive. This game was basically a world scale scam and EA should have been sued.

This is prime example of wasted potential. It took them one year to just fix the game (but not everything was fixed), and then it died. But I got to say, what is in there, is still fun and playable. Missions are fine, freeplay is even better, story is acceptable but character are annoying, almost everyone is smartass. There’s an intriguing game buried somewhere in Anthem, lying broken beneath its loot and structural frustrations like chunks of fossilised dinosaur bone.

Even if I ignore all the bugs, glitches and disconnects I had, Anthem is still, by and large, a mediocre game. The lackluster story, loot system and gameplay make this game one to pass on. At least in its current state.

Though it’s one of best-looking titles on PS4, Anthem’s uninspired action and obsession with grindy tasks mean BioWare’s mechs aren’t on song. [Issue#160, p.83]
