Providing an evocative look back at some of history's most visceral pre-modern battles and conflicts, Ancestors Legacy is a superb PS4 RTS that fans of the genre shouldn't miss out on.

Ancestors Legacy Conqueror’s Edition is the RTS title the PlayStation 4 gamers were waiting for. Easy to learn, balanced factions, long campaign mode and stable multiplayer mode. A real time strategy game that hooks you in since the first minute. Probably we are not before the strategy game more deep of the market, but the gameplay works really well and delivers a great medieval story.

Ancestors Legacy is a fun and content-packed historical RTS with great tactical squad-based combat and engaging single-player campaigns.

Ancestors Legacy makes a comfortable transition to console, serving up an RTS experience that plays superbly and looks the part. Minor technical issues and a moderately cluttered UI do little to detract from the overall action, which is strong across all of the release's main modes.

Ancestors Legacy is a genuinely good console strategy title, with Destructive Creations having ported the game over well with improvements to UI and controls to make it as playable as possible on a gamepad. As for the game itself, while simplistic compared to other strategy titles, it offers a great jumping-in point for those new to the genre. Even those familiar will find something enjoyable within, with a well-balanced (albeit small) roster of factions supports a strong multiplayer, even a decent, albeit repetitive campaign.

Ancestors legacy comes to PS4 and Xbox One with the same quality within the RTS genre. However, the control is not so well adapted to be comfortable to play with a traditional pad.

It’s always great to see strategy games being released on console. Ancestors Legacy is a deep and challenging title, and one of the not-so-many games of this genre available on these platforms.

If you’re looking for a beefy console RTS experience that’s inspired by real events and oozing violence out of every bloody orifice, then look no further than Ancestors Legacy. It may not be the perfect experience, but it’s shockingly solid, especially when you consider the design hurdles that the development team must have been facing. This is the perfect entry-point for anyone who’s been curious about real time strategy, when armed with only a Dualshock.

If you really, really have to play an RTS on console then you could do a lot worse than Ancestors Legacy. Well thought out controls, appealing visuals, and a solid multiplayer make for a reliable RTS experience. You might never feel compelled to reach the conclusion of the samey single-player campaign but you will delight in just having one more go at flanking your pal's Teutonic Knights with your Hurscarl Warriors.

Ancestors Legacy offers fast-paced action and strategy built around using the environment to your advantage. The difficulties in controlling units hamper the effectiveness of controling forces in battle, bringing some conflicts down to sheer luck. There is a lot of great content in Ancestors Legacy, but be aware that the control issues of the console ports might hurt the experience.

Due to unfortunate design choices, I just wanted to rush through everything and couldn’t exactly enjoy my time with the game. In short, Ancestors Legacy felt too much like a chore to play. Saying this doesn’t bring me any joy because the Middle Ages setting and the presented factions were actually cool. The idea to make a history-based, story-driven RTS title with dynamic features could have been great, but all these sides didn’t mesh well here. I really wanted to get into the gameplay, but the best I could muster was excitement for engaging cutscenes and disturbingly alluring images.

There is oneI love that game because the age and the real time strategy is awesome. I love the action cam and animations from every squad. There is one thing I want to be better in the multiplayer. I wish more modes and maps maybe some new features for the game, to keep this great game alive. Also i have to say the port from pc to PS4 was successful and the controlling is fast and easy to learn. Full Review »

Ancestor's high point is the historical reconstitution, throwing light over Middle Age unknowing events. The gameplay is simple, like oldAncestor's high point is the historical reconstitution, throwing light over Middle Age unknowing events. The gameplay is simple, like old school Commanders or Pretorians - you have to move each battalion as indivisible group, which limits the tactical possibilities, and make you mostly a passive viewer of the ground battles. While you progress through the campaigns the game turn to be a little repetitive. It's not bad, but once you had finished, probably you won't play it again. Full Review »
