    Ancestors Legacy is a game of historical greatness, featuring real battles from times gone by, easy to grasp controls and some great stories. It has its bumps, but is a title that you will keep coming back to. Whether you’re a Viking lover or a Polish shield bearer, there is a faction for you. I’d liked to have seen some element of multiplayer through the campaign – as it is, though, there’s a pretty great RTS here for console players to get stuck in to.

    With four separate factions, each with two campaigns, there’s a ton of content here to keep you busy for quite some time, and that’s not even factoring in the multiplayer skirmishes as well. It may not be the most robust RTS out there, but it’s a great console RTS that vets and newcomers alike should enjoy. Plus, who doesn’t like Vikings?

    Ancestors Legacy is a good strategy title that has a quite acceptable technical section in consoles and with a playability that reminds a lot to its big brothers but that simplifies it to make the games look more agile and fast.

    If you’re an RTS aficionado in need of a new game then Ancestors Legacy on Xbox One should scratch that itch – as long as you aren’t fussed about pitting your strategies against any humans.

    I eventually enjoyed Ancestors Legacy but I wanted to quit many times within my first 20 hours and that's not a good sign. Simply put, most missions are just way too slow. If the developers sped up battles, unit production, and movement speed; it would alleviate the tedium a great deal. In the end, I highly recommend playing Ancestors Legacy on PC and reading a guide before you get started.

    Well it's probably not the best RTS I have played but it is the best RTS experience available on consoles that's why it earned "9".

    If multi was still alive and teams AI were better, it would be strong "10".
    Still it is a great game. Single player campaign is well build with 4 nations and 8 scenarios at start. Graphics are good and the game is fast paced entertaining. Very climatic, finally a good RTS based in deep medieval times with no magic and other overused stuff. Controls on consoles are surprisingly cozy.
    Can't wait to continue the campaign.
    There are available multiplayer servers, but no one is playing in 2022 which is sad. But if you are singleplayer fan then it's not an issue.

The game play is incredible, with easy to learn (As you play the campaign is best) controls, and immersive cinematic combat. You can zoom in to your units and the environment fairly close, then you can activate a cinematic mode allowing you to get right in on top of the combat. Squad control and strategy are a must, and the environment can play a huge role. You can even shoot your own units with your archers, so watch position, and plan carefully! In the Multiplayer, dive into 1v1, 2v2, or 3v3 wars in real time, as each player can control up to 10 squads.
