Tekken Hybrid

Practically a Tekken Tag Tournament HD, since Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue is just a small taster and Tekken: Blood Vengeance is a B-class computer animation. That's fine, since TTT is still alive and kicking. [Dec 2011]

Tekken Tag Tournament feels fresh and sharp, even over ten years later, but it's a pity that everything in the game comes unlocked as there's less incentive to play the full roster of characters in order to open up the hidden characters or Tekken Bowling, but there will be those (lazy) people pleased by Namco's choice. It can be easily picked up for under £20 now, so if you can't wait for TTT2 to arrive or you were a big fan of the original, it's definitely worth a look.

The updated visuals of Tekken Tag Tournament on the PS3 is a joy to see and surprisingly the gameplay has dated well. However the taste of Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue is definitely something to wet your appetite until the next Tekken game. Definitely for fans!

While the CG flick is a bit hit and miss in places, the HD revamp of Tekken Tag and the playable teaser of its sequel should keep hardcore fans more than satisfied until the full version of Tekken Tag 2 shows up.

From the 3D film to the HD-ified Tekken Tag Tournament, if you are a super fan of the series, this is a solid chunk of Tekken content, and a fine way to pass the time until Tekken Tag Tournament 2 hits.

At its matinee price of $40, Tekken Hybrid definitely isn't a shabby deal in the end.

Even though the visual aren't all that impressive, this is a great HD version of a superb fighting game, backed up by a demo that definitely raises expectations for the upcoming Tekken Tag Tournament 2. Tekken: Blood Vengeance is a spectacular movie, but it doesn't stay as interesting in between fight scenes.

Tekken Hybrid is a compilation of Tekken Tag HD, Tekken Tag 2 demo and the Tekken Blood Vengeance movie. It will really only appeal to the hardcore Tekken fans overall.

This is a decent package for the hardcore Tekken fan, but not many others. If you are a fighting game fan, the lack of online will be the biggest deterrent, and a demo is still a demo in most people's eyes.

Tekken Hybrid is a collection dedicated to the fans of the first Tekken Tag, cause Tekken Tag 2 is in fact just a demo with Trophies. But for the fans, TTT HD is really the best tekken ever created, the only version without random moves and fake framelists.

Tekken Hybrid may be aimed squarely at fans of the series, but it still feels like one of those retailer bundle packages that makes you buy a whole bunch of extra stuff for the one thing you actually wanted.

Having two games featuring trophy and 3D support plus a feature length animated 3D movie all on one disc is a good deal for Tekken fans. Dated gameplay in Tekken Tag Tournament is highly evident when played back to back with the Tekken Tag Tournament 2 Prologue, but that doesn't take away from the genre changing the title encouraged during it's initial release.

None of its three parts is especially remarkable, as Tekken Tag doesn't include extras or major improvements, Tekken Tag 2 is just a demo, and the movie won't change your life, but Tekken Hybrid has a great price and includes three contents that Tekken followers will enjoy, especially the game and the movie in its 3D version.
