  1. Raven has, yet again, fallen just short of brilliance. The game is flawed in a number of areas, many of which detract from the overall experience and come across as sloppy or lazy.
  2. With a bit more ingenuity in the puzzles, more made of the time travel and a little more graphical "oomph", Raven and Activision could have had a real gem on their hands. It's still well worth a look though.
  3. Although the online is a ton of fun especially playing as the creatures it is a real shame they couldn't of added more. You should be able to get a few hours of fun, but this looks to fade out pretty quickly.
  4. Singularity is the kind of shooter we haven't seen in a while, one who doesn't take itself too seriously. The realism of games like Call of Duty or Battlefield: Bad Company is traded in for weird weapons and awesome powers. The TMD makes for some interesting moments, but should have been more elaborate. It's also a shame the game gets far too easy half way through. Still Singularity is a great pastime in these quiet periods.

This travels back to a simpler time, but is still a decent blast-fest. [Sept 2010, p.86]

The gunplay is solid and there are a few memorable set pieces. It is a game ultimately limited by a lack of imagination where a neat time-manipulation idea is handcuffed to a by-the-numbers first-person shooter.
  7. More development time ultimately might have done wonderful things for this game, but Singularity is nonetheless fascinating if you actually take advantage of your full arsenal.
  8. Enemies are practically defenseless in the face of your super-powers, and the puzzles never advance beyond the basics.

There was a lot of meat here, and most of it never played out as it should've.
  10. In the end Singularity is a decidedly average shooter with a pretty novel storyline.

While not exactly a title for the permanent collection, Singularity does deliver its fair share of fast-paced action and time-altering thrills. [Oct 2010, p.81]
  12. For all Raven's efforts with temporal gimmicks, this is a game which is stuck in the FPS past – but, perversely, in its gun-metal and gore, in its most archaic respects, Raven proves it can just about stand the test of time.
  13. Even if it won't go down in history, Singularity will delight horrific shooter fans, especially those who are now fed up with Rapture and Black Mesa.

Criminally underrated game!! I can't believe this game has only had 90 reviews and it has been out for five years...the game is just very wellCriminally underrated game!! I can't believe this game has only had 90 reviews and it has been out for five years...the game is just very well done with solid mechanics and a great atmosphere that almost matches the likes of bioshock! It had a few technical issues at launch but they were quickly resolved. It has a interesting premise that really intrigues you, It can also be very emotional at times. The upgrade system and overall progression is perfect, it is unbelievably satisfying trying to max out your character. The enemies you'll encounter can be challenging and very effective. The guns are all very well done and are satisfying to use, the negatives of this game would be the graphics and the sometimes familiar feel but that isn't necassirily a bad thing when it takes things from such great games such as bioshock! As for the graphics they aren't bad but they aren't great either, I think the game can look excellant at times but mediocre at others. Overall just please buy this game you will not regret it especially if you are a bioshock fan! Full Review »

It was awhile ago I played this game, but remember it being surprisingly good as I wasn't expecting much from the mediocre reviews. ItIt was awhile ago I played this game, but remember it being surprisingly good as I wasn't expecting much from the mediocre reviews. It definitely took some notes from the Bioshock playbook especially with the audio logs randomly strewn out. It is basically a time-traveling Bioshock and it is definitely good enough to be in the same discussion as Bioshock. The biggest thing I remember is the story. It was one of the better ones this gen. You would enjoy this as well if you liked the Dead Space series. Full Review »

Bought this game for £5 & thoroughly enjoyed it! It is similar to Bioshock, Wolfenstein & FEAR, & is a lot of fun. On the multiplayerBought this game for £5 & thoroughly enjoyed it! It is similar to Bioshock, Wolfenstein & FEAR, & is a lot of fun. On the multiplayer side, there are better shooters, but If you enjoy single player story mode then it's definitely worth a shot. Considering the price you can get it for now, it is a must buy in my opinion Full Review »
