    Even though this RE is not scary, it's still a great game to play.
    It's recommended to play online with another person since the AI is quite dumb and can ruin your experience especially on harder difficulties.

    I’ve played this game on Playstation 3 when it was released I was already blown away by the graphics of it at that time compared to Resident Evil 4 which is already beautiful. You play as Chris Redfield and throughout the game you are accompanied by Sheva Alomar and probably the first Resident Evil game that i’ve played which allows you to have co-op multiplayer and this is something newI’ve played this game on Playstation 3 when it was released I was already blown away by the graphics of it at that time compared to Resident Evil 4 which is already beautiful. You play as Chris Redfield and throughout the game you are accompanied by Sheva Alomar and probably the first Resident Evil game that i’ve played which allows you to have co-op multiplayer and this is something new since not much resident evil games have this in story mode the level design were fantastic and the way they made the puzzles on certain levels are great although some are a pain but that is already common to the Resident Evil franchise the controls are slightly better but still not good especially when enemies are rushing towards you as usual what you expect in an RE game on top of that the story is great I recommend buying this game on PC but there is a remastered versions of the game running on 1080p at 60fps with sharper and smoother edges it includes all DLC on disc lastly the controls are better and responsive compared to the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360’s… Expand

    RE5 is a solid game that fails to deliver the same eerie feeling as previous installments. However the action focused gameplay is a nice twist on the franchise.

    Not bringing up the "classic vs new" Resident Evil fight, but this is a very action packed game, which gets you in the trouble we ask for in every one of the series. Some bosses are kind of a dumb transformation, but the scenario and the journey is pretty enjoyable to me. Some say it is cliche, I say if it amuses me, I will play with will.

    After Resident evil 4, the series started to focus on action and I really felt it in this game. The story was good. Mechanics, gameplay, graphics were very nice for its time. I can't wait for the remake. I hope it comes out soon.

    Its a fun game. The slow pacing adds to the panic. Now you have a partner, destroying any feeling of fear. Now, its sunny outside, destroying any feeling of fear. What happened to dark areas? Sudden zombie popups? The feeling of being the last person alive?(Although you weren't) This game killed all the zombie game cliches there were. And, what bothers me the most. When I have a full Its a fun game. The slow pacing adds to the panic. Now you have a partner, destroying any feeling of fear. Now, its sunny outside, destroying any feeling of fear. What happened to dark areas? Sudden zombie popups? The feeling of being the last person alive?(Although you weren't) This game killed all the zombie game cliches there were. And, what bothers me the most. When I have a full inventory. And my partner has a full inventory. And I want some herbs to heal myself, I have to swap something with my partner for the herbs. Then use the herb. Then get my previous item I swapped back from my partner. And plus, I wear armor in my inventory. My inventory is basically a backpack, I don't wear my armor on a backpack. Overall. The action is fun. But its not as scary as it was in Resident Evil 4. Oh, and whatever happened to all the cliche subtitles?… Expand

    Resi 5 is a good game but I thought that some of the levels were average in terms of gameplay and the tasks to be done. The graphics are excellent and despite what a lot of people say about " Why can't you run and gun?", it doesn't bother me. It makes it different. I finished the game quite easily on normal and I enjoyed it loads. There is plenty of replay value especially on Resi 5 is a good game but I thought that some of the levels were average in terms of gameplay and the tasks to be done. The graphics are excellent and despite what a lot of people say about " Why can't you run and gun?", it doesn't bother me. It makes it different. I finished the game quite easily on normal and I enjoyed it loads.     Resident Evil 4 was a huge change for the Resident Evil series. Though I didn't like this change at first, I gradually started to like it the more I played. Now that I've played 5, I realized the series is going in a direction I'm not liking. Co-Op and Mercenaries are this games only saving graces. The enemies are nowhere near as amazing or freakish as RE4. Nor is the gameResident Evil 4 was a huge change for the Resident Evil series. Though I didn't like this change at first, I gradually started to like it the more I played. Now that I've played 5, I realized the series is going in a direction I'm not liking. Co-Op and Mercenaries are this games only saving graces. The enemies are nowhere near as amazing or freakish as RE4. Nor is the game in the same zip code as the difficult in RE4... I was disappointed with the game, but at least it's not a huge failure... seriously, thank the co-op for that. Try playing professional on rogue and see how pissed off you get...… Expand

    The controls make this game fall short of being a 90+ game. If I want to conserve ammo in typical survival horror fashion and take out a solitary zombie with a melee weapon I have to run up to it and then stand there in place swinging until the zombie is stupid enough to walk into me. Either that or get hit by the zombie... If they patch the controls to be more reasonable the game will be The controls make this game fall short of being a 90+ game.     now for the good . CO-OP that doesnt suck like outbreaks . the co-op feature is the best reason to buy this game playing with a friend is just a blast . boss fights are still fun and exciting , LOTS and LOTS of guns ., the graphics are amazing . the controls felt ok to me i didnt have much of a issue like some did. fast paced action that rarely lets up . Now for a game that took 5 years to make i expected more out of capcom but its still a fun game if you have a buddy to play with if not then the game just isnt gona be as fun . Sheva shoulda been left out and clair or Leon shoulda been brought in .All in Alll RE5 isnt a bad game but it sure isnt a great game eather.    … Expand

    This game is brilliant. I spent most of my summer holidays playing co-op in the story. There is so much to do and you barely ever get bored. Howver i hate the fact that you cant aim and move at the same time. I feel that the online modes aswell are utterly hopeless i find it easy to kill other zombies, but against other players.     As a start I have to say that RE5 was not a horror game.Resident Evil 5 is a co-op action game with a pretty bad AI and bad controls.But I still think this is a pretty good game.Why?Well, the co-op is very fun,i love the mercenaries mode, and the boss fights in this game were pretty cool(Except the El Gigante boss,it was just stupid).There is also many different weapons and enemies in thisAs a start I have to say that RE5 was not a horror game.Resident Evil 5 is a co-op action game with a pretty bad AI and bad controls.But I still think this is a pretty good game.Why?Well, the co-op is very fun,i love the mercenaries mode, and the boss fights in this game were pretty cool(Except the El Gigante boss,it was just stupid).There is also many different weapons and enemies in this game, and you actually get to kill Albert Wesker.But I still hope that the next Resident evil game is a horror game, not an action game.These new Resident Evil games just feel like something compleatly different than the old RE games.… Expand

The graphics: holds up pretty good even as my review is late on this game lol good lighting & shading..great water physics,even destructible environments such as walls,Windows etc! the story: Its pretty good especially when wesker is introduced later as the main Villain & brings what seems to be an end to possibly the greatest video game villain ever created! the controls: work fine but seems like they were designed for a fps instead of a 3rd action game but are manageable & precise. there's lots to do here as Mercenary mode returns & also extra mercenary mode plus two new modes:Desperate escape & lost In nightmares as this mode attempts to win over the Survivor horror fans capcom turned their back on lol but falls flat because its too short & sadly kinda boring. The bad:it plays just like R.E4 so I was a bit disappointed by this as it felt all to Familiar! I mean its good they used R.E.4 formula but failed to improve on it as co-op is really the only new feature here which is good but if you play alone(NOT RECOMMENDED) the CPU player just sucks!! You can't buy or upgrade weapons during missions, & the inventory box is horrible as the amount of boxes easily gets filled!! Probably the worst aspect of R.E5 is the fact that the survivor horror theme is all but dead but as I stated earlier its clear that capcom isn't going to return the R.E series back to survivor horror but instead throw in small(& I mean small)scars in favor for large explosions...7/10… Expand

    Online coop saves this game from the AI partner, and helps getting the players to the impressive boss fights with minimal frustration. There's a frantic, desperate feeling to some of the maps, especially first time through the game. There's a mix between arcade-like sections of fun action, and other sections of confused survival and progression. You can play online or via computer controlled AI. Visually the game looks great, but the storyline and gameplay doesn't do it for me here.     you can upgrade your guns later in the game to be more damaging for example. Co-op can be fun sometimes but there will be times when your online partner can be a dick that will annoy you which leads to kicking him out of the game. Mercernaries is introduced where you or a partner can score a high amount on the amount of enemies you defeat and can increase the score by picking up special items to boost your score. Only problem i have is when the A.I will use up their ammo and suddenly heal themselves even if your at full health. another one is which weapon you would want to use over because if you find an awesome gun then the old gun you use will rarely be used and you'll give to your A.I partner to use for the duration of the game.

    Overall- RE5 is an okay for a Resident evil game but taking it as a action theme of it may lead to not being a survival horror series as it used to be if capcom keeps doing this as their route    … Expand

    This game is good, but not great for sure. There was not much horror like in the previous games of this series and i'm not a big fan of horror shooting games but this one was not bad at all. I liked the enemies and the weapon upgrade system and liked the background and art of the game. This game is not bad, however I find it pretty boring sometimes, and sometimes illogical and "one way only" to be played (e.g. you have only one way to kill the boss, I guess it was better to have "smart way" and "long way") which sometimes is quite frustrating. Other than that it's a fun game to play, I guess it's much better to be played in coop on-line, sine AIPlayed this game alone.     Me parece uno de los mejores juegos de la historia en playstation,por los siguientes motivos,la trama te engancha desde el principio hasta el final,es bastante jugable y buenos graficos,muy divertido y bastante largo,no mas que el 4 pero ya es mucho pedir,aun asi me parece un juegazo imprescindible y que debes tener si o si y que te encantara si te gusto el resident evil 4,simplemente esMe parece uno de los mejores juegos de la historia en playstation,por los siguientes motivos,la trama te engancha desde el principio hasta el final,es bastante jugable y buenos graficos,muy divertido y bastante largo,no mas que el 4 pero ya es mucho pedir,aun asi me parece un juegazo imprescindible y que debes tener si o si y que te encantara si te gusto el resident evil 4,simplemente es un juego que te marcara y que no podras dejar de jugarlo. It looks great and the mechanics are pretty good for a 3rd person shooter, although res4 did it better. I don't like that the game takes place mostly in the day, Capcom has some balls to have tried that with a resident evil game. the bosses areas a survival horror game, its an embarrassment, especially being a resident evil game. but the game itself is a lot of fun and very memorable.     First, I'd like to say that if you're a first-time player, play offline. Don't play co-op without an actual friend. The community is now plagued with hackers, trolls, and gamers who will    I am The Destroyer.     First, I'd like to say that if you're a first-time player, play offline. Don't play co-op without an actual friend. The community is now plagued with hackers, trolls, and gamers who will attempt to skip any cut-scene on you or else threaten to rage quit. They will also hog all of the items and ammo for themselves. Playing offline allows you to adapt to the physics and gain an understanding to how the main gameplay is, until you are comfortable enough to see the "real world" for what it is. More story skits also take place offline.

    1. Story
    The story takes place in 2009, where B.S.A.A. member, Chris Redfield is dispatched to Kijuju, Africa to apprehend a black market weapons dealer named Ricardo Irving. Due to the distrust Africans have towards Americans in the story, Sheva Alomar is also assigned to assist Chris on his mission. But as they prepare, they notice something isn't right. And when things go quiet, all hell breaks loose shortly after.
    The best part about the story is that it's introduced in a way where you don't feel left out for missing the previous games. Veteran characters like Chris Redfield are back, so it appeals to both new fans and old fans. But... There are a few flaws in the story to point out: first of all, the B.S.A.A. members have radio headsets with them, including the main broadcast from HQ, yet they'll sometimes act as if they don't have any contact with each other at all. Another flaw you'll notice is the lack of police/military protocol "Hands in the air, NOW!" type of deal. Can't explain more because this review isn't marked with spoilers, but if you're intelligent enough you'll figure it out. Finally, Chris should have died so many times... in just the story! Count it as you're playing through! Despite this; the story does manage to deliver a satisfying ending that most fans can agree with.

    2. Voice Acting
    Capcom follows the role of "If you're gonna play your part, you better do it right!" kind of deal. Always keeping the cast fresh, shedding new light on the Resident Evil universe.

    3. Graphics and Visuals
    The graphics are superb in every way & form. Not much else to say.

    4. Gameplay
    Gameplay refers to combat, customization, and various areas you can explore within the game. Put it all together and it's Awesome!

    -Battle System-
    This game is co-op focussed. What makes Resident Evil 5 unique for strategy is that ammo picked up is only given to one player rather than both. So if you pick up your partner's shotgun ammo they desperately need you'll have to give it to them manually. Of course this means nothing once you unlock infinite ammo.

    -Customization-
    Resident Evil 5 has a small bit of an rpg elements here, painting experience points with gold, and distributing them in order to buy or upgrade weapons. The great thing about this game is that you can upgrade any weapon you want in any fashion you want. It's possible to complete the game without upgrading but is significantly more difficult.

    -Exploration-
    The exploration in this game is just a point-to-point: get to this location, fight boss, and you win. There isn't any free-roaming and is just a one set path - something which most fans will be disappointed with. This slightly takes away from the atmosphere, as you're not able to come back and revisit an area without using chapter select.

    5. Soundtrack
    For a Survival Horror game, it kind of lacks it's elemental music. In fact, it drifts over to the point where it feels like an action game. The soundtrack stands good, but isn't great.

    6. DLC
    Finally, DLC that is worth phrase. You'll end up playing Lost in Nightmares and Desperate Escape only a few times, but you'll definitely revisit Versus mode, and possibly The Mercenaries Reunion. Each coming with their own filler & type of fun.

    8. Personal Enjoyment
    The main campaign feels short; but I had so much fun playing this game with my friends. We've put thousands of hours into this game because it was the best game to play after a hard day's work. Most of our time was spent in Versus mode, where we played as our favourites, and thought of unique ways to kill Majinis rather than killing each other.

    9. Overall Verdict
    If I could, I would rate this game a full 10. But personal feelings should only have a small impact on the overall score. And that's why Resident Evil 5 gets rated a 9 out of 10. Without DLC; it is only a 7 out of 10. Pick up the game because it's worth a playing at least once. I would say more about the game but the rest is better to experience personally.    … Expand

    I actually give this about a 7.5/10 because its not an 8 for me but neither a 7.
    This is the first resident evil ive played, and i did enjoy it enough to play the other ones. The gameplay takes time to get used to, its not like any ordinary shooter, and the graphics r pretty nice as well

    its not true survival horror resident evil game its just co-op action game its good as the game but very very bad as resident evil and the final boss is annoying if you want something to play with friends okay go buy it but if you want a true horror atmosfere go buy re 2 remake or 7 even the revelations are better then this like i said its fun game but sh%t resident evil title

    RE5 is a good game but simply not one of the best Resident Evil entries in the series. The setting and enemy designs were incredible, definitely lived to RE4 expectations and the gameplay was also in par with its prequel. I really enjoyed playing this story with the right length.

    Sure, the story wasn't the most interesting and did not live up to RE4 expectations but it was still good. The atmosphere wasn't also as tense as expected and some scenes were too over-the-top.    … Expand

    In too many ways this is identical to the last game. That's not necessarily a bad thing - "RE4" is one of the greatest games ever made because it rewrote the rules for action games, setting a template for everything from "Dead Space" to "Dark Sector." Because of that this is still a damn near essential purchase. It's just a shame that the lack of evolution means it occasionally feels like it's lagging behind the very competitors it inspired.
