Dec 29, 2021Resident Evil 5 is a third-person shooter survival horror video game developed and published by Capcom and released in 2009.
+ Fun Coop Game
+ Good Graphics
+ The Mercenaries
+ Replay Value
- Feel Exactly Like Resident Evil 4
- Meh Story (with stupid moments)

May 30, 2023A decent game in and of itself, though not a very good Resident Evil game and was a major let down coming off the greatness that was Resident Evil 4.
-
Nov 14, 2022this game is only good if it's to be played in coop because alone it's horrible, difficult and very boring

tonybAug 27, 2009A good game but you wouldn't know it's an RE title if it wasn't on the cover. a few to many repeated scenerios and a totally uneeded sci fi passage on a circular sphere. RE games belong dark spookie with zombies lurking in the dark. Not motercycling zombies.

PeteMDec 13, 2009I loved RE4 and tried to like RE5, but the play mechanics are way too old and frustrating. The AI-controlled character, Sheva dragged down the experience and made it less than scary to boot. I wish I could have enjoyed this game because I'm a RE fan and the graphics are so pretty...

Playstation: The Official Magazine (US)Perhaps Resident Evil 5's most remarkable achievement is how it deftly straddles the line between the franchise's sometimes endearing, sometimes frustrating, legacy gameplay mechanics while incorporating more contemporary action adventure elements like enhanced interaction and exploration of environments and a decidedly more shooter-like control scheme. [Mar 2009, p.38]

GameProHardcore fans may be disappointed by the departure from the traditional survival-horror roots but trust me, the game delivers enough thrills that you probably won't care. [Apr 2009, p.68]

Playstation Official Magazine UKIn too many ways this is identical to the last game. That's not necessarily a bad thing - "RE4" is one of the greatest games ever made because it rewrote the rules for action games, setting a template for everything from "Dead Space" to "Dark Sector." Because of that this is still a damn near essential purchase. It's just a shame that the lack of evolution means it occasionally feels like it's lagging behind the very competitors it inspired. [Mar 2009, p.80]
