Listen, it's not perfect. But there are things called patches. One was released today and fixed a MAJOR amount of bugs in the game. Screen tearing is down like 90 percent, texture load properly, and although mouth animations are a little stilted along with others, this can AND WILL be fixed. That is the joy of these games; you get to see a **** port evolve to a good port. The game is veryListen, it's not perfect. But there are things called patches. The game definitely has some kinks it needs to fix, but a lot of major league game that come out sometimes have that. I've played it on both PS3 and PS4 the PS4 version is definitely better but I've still enjoyed the PS3 one so far, it is missing a major part of the Nemesis system unfortunately.... 8/10

the game is not bad like many would have you believe. there are a couple of framerate issues that came be corrected by the game being patched, thus why updates are made. the game was purposely made slightly lower on ps3/360, as far as graphic fidelity goes. The ps3/360 were and are capable of handling this game, so dont buy into the hype that the consoles are inferior, its all about marketing. there are many ps3/360 games that outshine the graphic fidelity of current ps4/xbox one games. This games nemesis system did not take a huge hit like monolith said either, for ps3/360. The system is nearly identical with the exception of having a couple less warchief character models (big whoop). The game accomplishes the same thing it does on ps4/xbox one. Dont let the bad video uploads, or snobbish cry of those deceived by lighting parlor tricks detour you away from a still great gaming experience. Gameplay: 9/10 ~ Character movements are responsive and fluid. Combat feels SOLID (not QUITE as smooth as Batman tho.) Stealth and climbing are fun, especially for creative gamers.

Graphics: 8/10 ~ Cutscenes are gorgeous! There are complaints of dull, flat, or muddy textures and/or color palettes...HOWEVER, IF gamma filter is set properly (aka in-game brightness adjustment) and any HDTV with bright whites/dark blacks/vibrant color is used...than hue, tone, and vibrancy abound.
**NOTE** >For me it was 3/4 of the way to right *or equal to* 75% bright<
Yes, Textures are for sure lacking for the most part. But, don't get things twisted...some are pretty well done. While honestly though, others look like some third party, "low budget", "Launch Title" technology for the ~ahem~ PS*2

Replayability:10/10 ~ Wow, The Nemesis System! IGN, EGM, even PSM said "PS4 and XboxOne are only next-gen when paired with these kinds of systems... Nemesis being the first and only so far!" "You can play through as many times as you want and LITERALLY never repeat the same experience!" Nemesis AI is being reported at a somewhat reduced capability. The majority of estimates place the Nemesis System onPS3 @ 70-80%. That being considered, it is still revolutionary!

Overall:Really good, fun game! if you like Assassin Creed, Batman: Arkham games, even fallout.....this is the perfect blend of those!

Don't listen to negative hype! 10 hours gameplay = one glitch. If you been waiting on this, but don't have PS4/xbox1 yet, this game is WELL WORTH IT!

As a Tolkien fan, I absolutely liked this game. In fact, i wanted a PS4 just for this game, even if it's not an exclusive. I remember 5 years ago when I was faking to be sick to not go to school just for playing this game, and 4 months ago I finally cleaned my PS4 from the dust and I earned the platinum trophy for this game. And now, lets start the sequel...

I think that this game is amazing! The only, only, only, ONLY, issue I've had with it is the loading time between the main pause menu and the game, and before missions. Granted, I know that this last-gen is much different that the current-gen, but I've purposefully stayed ignorant to all current-gen news or anything. Ignorance is bliss, as someone that I could probably Google in a few seconds once said. It really is, though. That load time is worth the awesome gameplay. If you've played Batman: Arkham, then you will be awesome at this game, as it plays almost exactly like it. Running, climbing, combat (which is more fluid/but almost too easy). Of course, it's completely different than Batman. You can a bow and you behead and dismember Orcs. They added their own pretty clever special moves. There is one certain special move with the bow that is like nothing I've ever done in a video game.

If it wasn't for the loading time and the fact that the game has no difficulty setting (or New Game Plus), I would have given it a 10. Maybe they will release a patch and I will change this review.

If we give up on the game, why would they fix it? If we report the bugs and support the developpers, then we all win. Yes $60 is a bit high for such a buggy game; it's a business and the bottom line counts though, we all need to accept that. I don't know about you but I didn't use my grocery money for this game, I used some disposable income that I put aside for gaming.

I feel that the gameplay itself is fantastic. Identifying captains through interogation? Awesome. Fighting endless Orcs and Uruks to weaken the armies of Sauron? Awesome. Fleshing out the history of Mordor and the Orcs? Awesome.

The graphics are nothing special but I don't care. I don't feel I need to see every hair of my avatar's beard individually to enjoy my gaming experience.

The constant menu changes do get annoying, but that's the reality of the system they put in place in the game I think.

Overall I enjoy this game immensely and hope to see it grow and improve over time. I can tell you I definetely won't be getting any DLC until the bugs are fixed though.

I bought it yesterday. So far I the only issue I have with the game is that the loading slows down the game flow. I like the fighting mechanics. I definitely wouldn't say the game is unplayable. I've enjoyed it so far. By no means is it as good on the ps3 as it is on the ps4, but hopefully with some major patch downloads it will become a 9 scoring game for me.

A lot of fun, but it is fair to criticize the fact that it is a port. Sound did some odd things, slightly wonky. Camera creates problems with angles, too. I thought that with it being a late PS3 game, they would have gotten the most out of the system, but it left something to be desired.

Lets start with specific PS3 port problems. I didn't play the first version released, but in this patched version graphics are good, not better nor worse than most PS3 games released recently. The main problem here is the long loads every time you try to access the menu options and map. It takes a long time to access it and to leave it, making the game an exercise of patience. Advancing in the game makes this problem worsen, to the point it becomes almost unplayable. Framerate frequently drops, but unfortunately this happens a lot on PS3, I couldn't say it is worse than most games. I didn't experience sound glitches or freezing. General problems to me: First of all, lack of variety. The whole time you keep doing the same things over and over. After a dozen hours the game becomes very repetitive and boring. The main protagonist is not interesting at all, the kind of guy you could say is a pain, so as the NPC's. The game seems to be made only for The Lord of the Rings fans, and I'm not, neither the books nor the movies, so I didn't feel connected to the plot and I really didn't care much for what happened in the game. There is no much care with details too. For example, there are missions where I'm supposed to save human slaves from the beastie Uruks, and to complete the task I just need to release them, it doesn't matter if I do it with dozens Uruks around that certainly would kill them, the game considers the task done. Other annoying thing it is when there is special missions (I am avoiding spoilers) where you must kill an Uruk captain. Eventually he may try to flee, and if you don't catch him soon he just disappears (even if you are close him) and reappears in another place, far from where you are. Your character here moves mostly like in any Assassin's Creed game, for the good and the bad. Combat is good and can be very funny, advancing in the game makes you acquire new powers, moves and abilities, but keeping fighting the same orcs, uruks, caragors the whole game eventually kills the fun, and that's what you're gonna do all the time. The Nemesis system works fine and it is probably the best thing brought by ME-SOM, since it does a great job creating Uruk captains and missions, where you must intervene, or not, you may choose just to watch. There isn't a great variety of locations. As far as I played, there are two moderately big open world regions, but they change very little coast to coast, and even among them the only difference is that one is barren and the other is greener, but the plains, the mounts, the buildings and other things look exactly the same. I don't recommend for PS3 owners, and probably I won't try to play it again even in new gen consoles. Expand

Apart from Orcs that have personality and the nemesis system, Shadow of Mordor doesn't do anything new. The desolate landscape of Mordor acts feels like a barren wasteland with not much to do apart from ripping through Orcs which gets tedious after the 20th horde.

The fact is that there are already better looking, better running, just better made games already on the PS3 and XBox 360.

I made the same mistake others have made of believing that the extra month of "polishing" was meant to optimize this game for the system I own, but it was clearly meant to sabotage instead. There's nothing wrong with my or any old console, they run better made games just fine.

This will be the last game I buy at full price from this developer. While it's clear that they are capable of putting out decent product as evidenced by the lauded release on newer consoles, I refuse to be burned again by their shameless greed.

I intend to play this game to 100% completion just to spite Monolith. Then when they later release the inevitable "Complete Edition" maybe I'll by that on Steam for 5 bucks since I've pretty much already payed for it anyway.
